Had lunch at this location today. The food was fine, but a patron came inside with her dog, which was not a service dog. I asked a worker if this was acceptable at this location, instead of a health code violation. I was told that a manager would need to be consulted. Somethings have changed at this location. My favorites...French Onion Soup taste watery and lacked its usual flavor. The Chicken Chopolte Melt was very dry and the Avocados were black which was so unappetizing. When me and my boyfriend first walked it the atmosphere was okay. The point was to have a nice date out with each other. We paid $30 for two toasted baguette sandwiches and a Mac and cheese. While eating I found a hair in my food and notice that the portions of food were not even close to what we paid for. The meat was not even half the amount of bread. When we brought up the hair being found there was no apology but they said they would remake it. Meanwhile we heard the cooks trying to pass around blame to who's it was and then talking about not wearing hair nets. The order they remade wasn't even what I ordered fully in the first place. Thought it worth the update to mention this. They have a sign on their door that you have to wear a mask. Everyone is wearing a mask, great. They have places marked on the floor to social distance the line, nice. The dining room however is a different story. No social distancing happening there. Every table is open. My husband and I sat at one table thinking no one would sit near us but much to our surprise a woman sat at the table directly behind my husband (because she could...nothing stopping her). She sat about 6 inches from my husband, took off her mask and got on the phone. After she leaned back and touched my husband in the process while bursting out in laughter we moved. I think this time we are truly done with Panera. While it isn't necessarily her fault she sat there...the table was open, it is their responsibility to ensure their dining room is properly spaced. read more

After a disappointing dinner at Bonefish we stopped in to Panera to get some dessert. We both decided on something pumpkin since it was that kind of season. I don't quite know what the name of my pumpkin delight was but it was flaky and creamy and totally yummy. I could order it again and again and again. My friends pumpkin dish was more like a pumpkin roll which was very moist and the filling was just super. It made for a delightful ending to a bad dinner at another location. What's a girl to do? Not happy at all with our recent visits and this one finally pushed me to the "we're never ordering Panera again" and we've been pretty loyal thus far. We both got the pick 2 He ordered a half Turkey avocado BLT with a bowl of French onion soup and no side, I ordered the same sandwich with a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup and a baguette for the side. For the most part, the sandwiches were subpar, the biggest downfall was the only avocado I got on my sandwich was rock hard and tasted weird. Ended up removing all of the avocado as it wasn't ripe, there was no bacon on either sandwich, so I had half of a Turkey lettuce sandwich that costs $8 (again, for a HALF). I then went to approach my soup and found they gave me the Mac version, which is far too salty for me. I'm not sure what the difference is, but the Mac makes me sick compared to the soup. The French onion he made me aware was very burnt tasting and not good. Spent over $30 to feed two adult two half sandwiches. Never coming back after how incorrect every order has been in addition to the outrageously expensive pricing. Panera serves as my second office as they provide me with an oasis of high-tops, tables, and booths where I can meet with my clients and business partners, or just chill out in the corner to do some writing or catch up on emails using their FREE WIFI service. Panera also has delicious breakfast sandwiches, bagels, rolls, baked goods, and sweets along with soups, salads, paninis, and sandwiches to handle the hungries in between all of the work that i'm usually trying to accomplish. They are constantly adapting their menus to meet the requests of their clients, and I see a whole lot of new "lighter" menu items with creative tips of the hat to salads and gluten-free choices. Tonight I was looking for a place to curl up and catch up on some Emails and reading through some Yelp reviews, and so I found a booth in the back of the restaurant. I ordered their new All-Natural Bistro French Onion soup, which was made with sweet onions simmered in a traditional savory broth that has been accented with a classic sherry wine vinegar gastrique and a blend of sea salts. Topped with Gruyere and Asiago croutons. Very delicious, and I damn near slurped it all down before I remembered to take a photo for posterity. Along with the soup I ordered the salmon club croissant which was a grilled salmon filet served on a French croissant with applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and zesty tomato aioli. The croissant was kinda blah, but next time I'll ask for this sandwich on toasted sourdough bread. Parking can be a stinker as this Panera sits right next to a popular Bonefish Grill along Dale Mabry Highway in Carrollwood, but the trick is to park behind Bonefish and away from the main horde of shoppers. It's generally not crowded around back, and you can walk right in the side door of Panera. Great place to enjoy your coffee, tea, cocoa, or a soda with some very yummy menu selections. I went to Panera Bread to get the cinnamon crunch bagel. It was just as I remembered. Tasty and crunchy and really does not need anything added at all. I used to frequent this location with my girlfriend because of the location however we found that it's usually a hit or miss when it comes to the service and quality of food, and more often than not it's a miss. My girlfriend always orders their French Onion soup without cheese because she is lactose intolerant. For whatever reason they never get it right. The last time we were there the forgot her extra bread and when she went back up to ask for it the cook behind the counter literally threw it onto her plate. The staff including the management are either happy and energetic or sluggish and make it obvious that they do not want to be there. I've worked in the food industry as well and understand that it's overwhelming and tiring however, when your staff is constantly making the same mistakes and make your customers feel like they are an encumbrance then that is when I take issue. Always had major love for Panera but I'm even more smitten with all their updates. Panera has announced they will soon deliver to your home! They have also stepped up their beverage game. When I went to this location they had lots of yummy and unique iced tea and lemonades to choose from. Came here for lunch on a chilly day and I loved the fall options they had for soup, so I decided to try the squash soup and it did not disappoint! I ordered it in a bread bowl(which made it even better) and it was very filling. Always have good service at this location and the employees are very helpful and friendly. By far the worst Panera I have ever been to. When I lived in St Pete I would go to the Panera on 4th multiple times a week. Their staff is amazing! When I moved this way a few months ago, I was excited to be close to a Panera. I literally regret coming in here EVERY single time. They are the slowest Panera ever. We walked in with masks on (like required), but so many people were sitting at the table without one. So we took ours off too. A lady walked by and said to us "masks are required by federal law" and we said "okay thank you" then she felt the need to say to us "well... it's not doing anything just sitting in your purse." Customer service is key to bringing in people and keeping your job. After reading other reviews, she is apparently very mean to a lot of people, but she doesn't suffer the consequences. Go here if you don't want surprises. It is a standard menu. The food isn't bad but it is not great. Just average food. The pastries are below average. Sure, they look pretty but the taste will always disappoint. I like Panera more for getting an iced tea, using my computer and maybe once in 5 years I'll have lunch there. It is good for kids but lots of business people go there too. They have outlets to plug in computer and they may even have free wifi. The people who work there are helpful and friendly. Tomatoe soup is watered down, they changed the cheese on the grilled cheese and doesn't taste the same (how do you mess this up), $0.75 for a an extra bread (I'm paying $10.00 for a turkey sandwich - gheez) they are always out of Tomato Basil bread for the Turkey Bacon Bravo - in fact no matter if it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner this store is consistently out of something on my family's order... Ok...im going to start out by saying the food was fine. I had a you pick two with a french onion soup(delish) and ceasar salad. The thing is, having worked in customer service forever, I cannot support a place that treats its employees so poorly. I witnessed some pretty disgusting behavior from a manager to a floor person, which included explicit cursing for the whole dining room to hear. From what I could tell it was over coming in missing a peice of the uniform. I like Panera generally but this branch was terribly inefficient. I ordered delivery with a half and half and a mango smoothie. The delivery driver left out the smoothie (which to be fair costs nearly 3/4 of my entire order itself). He said he didn't have a smoothie. That was it. I called the restaurant and they blamed the driver, though they couldn't just issue me a refund through their app, they needed my card details. When I asked how much of a refund I was getting, she quoted me the in-store price instead of delivery which is higher. She admitted "we'll refund what we charged" which was not comforting. When I asked if she could also refund $1 off the tip since the driver "left" before checking if he's got my entire order, I was put on hold for at least 20 minutes. Enough time for me to stay on hold and drive to Panera Bread itself. The staff was "polite", and when I told them about the missing smoothie, she knew exactly what I was referring to and offered me the one that should've came with my order, which had been sitting there for awhile...so I requested for a fresh one...which seems to be a common sense thing to do. No mask, no service! I've never felt so unwelcome at Panera ever. We didn't bring our masks here because...um...how do you eat with a mask on? There was no sign on the front door saying that masks are required, so we walked right in. We walked up to the counter and were informed that they couldn't take our order if we weren't wearing masks. She said we could grab a napkin and order with that covering our faces. Like that does any good at all. We ordered, sat down to eat as quickly as we could, and left. Apparently, once you get your food, you are free to eat without a mask (or napkin, in our case) covering your face because that's how the other customers were doing it. The whole time we were sitting there, I felt self conscious and unwelcome. I was waiting for "mask enforcement " to come shoo us out as soon as we were finished. Panera Bread is a great place. It has yummy sandwiches, tasty soups, delicious soup bread bowls, and a great selection of desserts! I love going to Panera Bread for chocolate chips bagels with friends in the morning and catching up on life. Their smoothies are pretty dang good too. I really enjoy the mango smoothie. My only real problem with this one is the water. Don't drink it! Okay, I haven't had their water, but I've had their NASTY tea and when we returned it they said it was due to their bad water. They must not have a very good filtration system or something. I've been to other panera's in the are that should be on the same water that have perfectly good tasting tea. Overall it's a nice place to hang out. There's internet, so it's a good place to relax and do work, or meet with clients. New ordering Kiosks with half-baked chip readers need updating, but that's forgivable. What's not acceptable is the staff and how they handle something that wasn't quite right. I ordered a bowl of French onion soup and "grilled" cheese sandwich. The French Onion soup was cold, and the "grilled" cheese looked and tasted like it was microwaved. I took my cold soup back to the counter twice to be heated up. I had to ask a different employee for it back the first time, the second time it was thrown on the counter.. still cold. The store was clean and welcoming but once I got inside I wasn't immediately welcomed and although there was a lady in front of the bakery case fixing the pastries she didn't smile or even acknowledge me. The case was very full and inviting, they had a huge selection of pastries. The selection of bagels was very slim and this was at about 9:30am. They did have the one I wanted but you could see empty baskets already. The cashier; Rebekah was okay, she kinda looked like she was forcing a smile and kept asking me "anything else?" Everytime I ordered one item. I hate being asked that because it rushes me and she didn't over help or suggestions so I don't know why they keep asking anything else. If you're gonna rush me at least offer me suggestions of possible items I can choose. She also didn't ask for my Panera numbers, I had to tell her I had a number and she was a trainer so that's pretty concerning. The bagels were delicious and the orange-cranberry muffin I had was very good; a bit too sweet and actually started tasting like bday cake batter the more I ate it but overall I'd get it again just maybe eat half. I eat at Panera maybe 6 times a year. The restaurant is always clean. People are friendly. Each time I get the same items. The bacon turkey bravo, onion soup, or the Fuji apple salad. On this visit I got the pick two sandwich and salad. The salad was delicious as usual. The side piece of baguette was warm and yummy. The sandwich was not the usual deliciousness. Something was missing. More sauce maybe? I don't know. I'm scratching that off my list of go to items. The salad had a long string of hair...straight hair, so it wasn't mine. I let the young man in the lobby know about it. He was understanding and apologetic. I didn't make a big fuss. It's not like I found a roach. I kept eating. The manager walks over a few minutes later and says that none of the employees working have that hair type and that they all wear caps and wash their hands, etc. He offered me a cookie or is there anything he could do. I said no, that I was just making them aware of the hair in my food. It happens. It wasn't till I got to my car that I thought... his approach was inappropriate . his initial reaction was to defend the fact that hair was in my food. As if to say that maybe I put it there? And then to offer me a cookie. Insult on top. Customer service these days have gone to shit. Are managers and other service providers not being trained to handle situations. I guess we have become a mediocre society. Banks don't face the money the same way. Cashiers don't count your money back. Cashiers yell out next instead of a warm greeting. WTF! Great food when you want healthy options and/or a quick bite. This last meal was really good. I ordered the Pick 2 so I chose the Garden Vegetable soup with Pesto. I was unsure if I would like it so the girl at the register asked if I wanted a sample first. Yes please!! Nice touch. I really liked the flavor and then fact that it was a lower calorie soup. For my 2nd item I chose the BBQ chicken salad. It was also very good. I liked that they gave me the dressing on ti side as I hate soggy salads and like to control how much dressing I put on for calorie purposes as well. They have more than one flavor of unsweet iced tea. I chose the hibiscus. It's really good. More of a sweet flavor than a flower flavor. This is a strip mall so you can shop at Hallmark and Steinmart then have lunch here and make an outing of it. read more
