I got an iced vanilla latte with a pistachio Turkish delight, as well as a classic waffle, and they were all delicious. The pistachio Turkish delight was probably my favorite thing that I ordered, and I found that the classic waffle had a good enough flavor to not need the cream and berries of their specialty one. It was rather loud and crowded inside as it is rather small, so I ate in the sitting area outside, which was just as nice. I also appreciate that they have stamp cards for every $5 spent, and will be coming back :) read more

Looking for a coffee shop that had chai lattes. Found this cute Turkish cafe spot nearby where we were staying. Very hipster and cute but also very tiny and cozy. Hard to figure out where to stand while trying to order and waiting for orders. They had chai latte and also oat milk to go with it. I opted for the non spicey but maybe I should've gotten spicey because it was very mild and kind of bland. I did score a complimentary Turkish dessert and you can pick from many flavors. Do you recommend this business? Hell yes. 1. The turkish delight is SOOOOOO good. Eating one now in fact. They really know how to make a delicious treat. 2. The coffees are creative and are wonderfully made. It's not snob level coffee but it is excellent for creative drinks with a great quality level. 3. The cups are fancy. Like too good for Reno type of fancy. I just feel like mister fancy pants drinking from these sparkly paper cups! 4. The service is GREAT and the staff is working hard to keep it that way. No slacking here on doing it right and making things right the first time. 5. The space isn't super cozy for a Friends style hangout but it is also not harsh and devoid of humanity like some coffee places seem to like these days. If you're looking for a great espresso based coffee this is the place. Pangolin does a variety of drinks, but specializes in espresso based drinks. I will say if you're looking for what might be the best latte in reno I would recommend the Cubano breve! It is a a latte with a little cinnamon twist, nothing that is over sweetened, but just smooth caffeine! I definitely recommend making this a must stop if you're in midtown. Love this place - I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I appreciate that they offer other drinks such as lemonade. The complimentary turkish delight is a plus! You cant' go wrong with any flavor- nice and chewy and not too sweet. I usually get their lavender lemonade and it hits the spot when you want a refresher. They are always so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We were here once with a friends dog outside and they even came out to check on us and brought a water bowl for the dog. read more

Growing up, I HATED Turkish Delight. My mom would bring a box home every single holiday season and I leered at the pre-packaged gooey confections covered in powdered sugar. The worst. Enter Pangolin Cafe! Their fresh house-made Turkish Delights are light-years beyond the candy that I used to dread. Their unique flavors like Lavender, Rose, and Cardamom are refreshing and absolutely delicious. The texture of these delights is gummy but springy, doesn't stick in your teeth at all, and the subtle sweetness goes absolutely perfect with one of their signature drinks. Speaking of drinks, their delicious drip coffee is only ONE DOLLAR, which is unheard of these days! Not only that, but they give you a free delight to go with it! Insanity, I tell you. Tasty insanity. They also have this drink called an Istanbul Fog that is totally to die for. Its like a London Fog but with Turkish tea and a hint of vanilla. I would drink this everyday if I could! The people here are so sweet too. No rude coffee shop vibes here - just awesome folks wanting to make your day with coffee and tea and treats. Entered the café with with warm greetings and was given a tour of the coffee and teas. We ordered the iced Pistachio Latte w/ oat milk and the iced Cuban breve with oat milk. The pistachio latte has a great blend of nuttiness with the coffee. It also has a creamy texture with earthy tones. The in-house whip cream would have been a perfect match (I didn't get it bc I'm lactose intolerant). The Cubano Breve was a favorite for me for it had hints of cinnamon and great balance of sweetness and boldness. They both come w/ a complimentary Turkish delight that is made in-house and a variety of flavors that have become a staple on the menu or a seasonal treat. Yum!!! I have been missing cardamom coffee options and was so happy to see Pangolin Cafe has a cardamom (spice, kinda like cinnamon but better) latte. It was a really hot day when we went so I was extra delighted to find out that they'd make it an iced latte, too! It was delicious- the perfect amount of cardamom flavor. It was also a happy surprise to learn that each drink comes with some turkish delight. I am a fan! And they had some very exciting flavors that are way different than traditional turkish delight offerings (along with some of the more common kinds, like rose and pistachio). It was clearly made fresh so the texture was perfect- and it's sold by the ounce, so affordable to sample lots of different kinds! We tried a bunch and they were all delicious. The people working there were really nice and patient as we decided- and helpful. It's a beautiful space with cute art and I'd say the only drawback was that there were no tables available for us to enjoy it- but I am assuming that's because they're doing a good job with covid social distancing. There was one table outside but in direct sun and could have been usable with an umbrella or something. Destined to become one of my favorites. Thoughtfully placed acoustic tiles on the ceiling dampen the echo that usually accompanies spaces with the industrial bones this building has. Polished cement floors and vaulted ceilings with exposed ducting could easily have given off a warehouse vibe, but Pangolin Café feels every bit a traditional coffee shop instead. Jazzy music and the low hum of conversation fill the air, further lending to the chill vibe this café provides. I somehow felt cooler and more confident whilst sipping my pumpkin spiced latte than I did before I entered. I enjoyed the PSL, but the White Chocolate Pumpkin Spiced Toffee was the real star in my pumpkin spice world...confession, we ate all of it. It reminded me of a pumpkin roll with cream cheese icing. We were hooked at first bite. My friend ordered a Cardamom Latte, which he said he would come back for again and again. He described it as a natural match of flavors that was really something special. Each drink came with a complimentary bite of Turkish Delight. We selected Pomegranate Pistachio (powdery, sweet, with a nice soft texture broken only occasionally by the salty pistachio) & Tart Raspberry (bright, flavorful, tart, refreshing...and sure to wake up your tastebuds). I got a caramel macchiatto, it was really good. I usually have to add shots to drinks I get, but I think because of the cup size, that wasn't necessary. They have a punch card, which I love. And then give you Turkish delight pieces with your drink, which I think is so cute. The girls were really nice. I told them I had never tried Turkish delight, so they let me try a couple of pieces. The decor is minimalistic, natural, and relaxing. The menu is small but delightful. I chose a cardamom latte, which was not too sweet and nicely spiced. The coffee came with some Turkish delights, a specialty treat they make in house. We tried the Rose Vanilla and the tart raspberry. Both had a nice silky texture and mellow but discerning flavors. We also couldn't help but try the Liege waffle. You had me at dark choc and sea salt! It was sweet and delicious! Probably to much sweet for my breakfast, but what a wonderful dessert! I really like this place. Found out they are closed 9n Saturdays Sad, but understandable. They give a Turkish delight with every coffee purxhased..so try a different flavor every time. If you like it you can buy a tin and place some yummy treats inside and give as a gift. Super cute inside and gives reno a refreshing vibe. Parking is tight, but midtown area typically is. The cutest coffee shop around. It's small but cozy. You're greeted by a sweet gentleman behind the counter. I explained it was my first time in and I was meeting my bfs mom and her friend. He was delighted to walk me through the menu of coffee, tea and Turkish delights. Each drink order is paired with a complimentary savory gel cube called Turkish delight. I learned that Traditional Turkish delight flavors are pistachio, rose water and lemon but pangolin likes to develop unique flavors like pomegranate, tart raspberry and Hawaiian. I ordered a vanilla latte with a vanilla rose delight. Side Note(Turkish delights are available for purchase on its own!) I placed my belongings down at the center table and wandered the coffee shop. I found some coloring pages and color pencils on the left hand side table. The coloring pages were adorable as they had the anteater(pangolin) on it. I began to color as I waited for coffee and company. Coffee arrived first, company arrived shortly after. I have to say the presentation of the vanilla latte was exquisite and the Turkish delight gave it a very European touch! We enjoyed our drinks and spending time with one another. Pangolin Cafe is a Hidden Treasure right off of South Virginia and what a lovely Treasure this Cafe is. Walking through the door you get to experience the aroma of teas and lattes filling the air. This was my first event as a Yelp Elite reviewer and I brought my Mom to experience this with me, this lovely Cafe. As we walked to the counter, the owner's, Joel Stewart and Travis Sandefur, welcomed us in with kind smiles and helped us choose our drinks. Mom picked a Lemmon tea and I chose the Cubano Breve Latte. A warm cinnamon drink. Both were great choices for our first drink choice...and the presentation of my latte was elegant and memorable! The foamy leaf design inside, lasted to the bottom of the cup. A wonderful presentation. Displayed to the left of the counter was a gourmet arrangement of beautiful Turkish Delight Confections in so many colors and flavors and to the right, so many Toffee choices. I chose white chocolate pumpkin spice!!! Yes! How do you choose from such a selection? At this special Yelp Elite Event, each business provided a special part of their specialty. Pangolin Cafe provided a giveaway coffee cup and Emmy's Flower Truck provided the beautiful arrangement inside the cup as well as the beautiful flowers on each table. This is my one of my favorite coffee shops in Reno. Nice ambience, great service, amazing coffee! My favorite is the Cubano. And it's so nice that they include Turkish delights-- always fun to try new flavors. This is somewhere I would bring friends who are visiting for the first time because the atmosphere is nice for a coffee and catch-up. The only downside is that since it's a small establishment, there aren't many tables and I probably wouldn't choose to work on my laptop here. read more
