I love the Papa John's pizza sauce, it has that sweet taste. This particular store is off Northern lights and staff seems very friendly. I ordered the special 1 large pizza get second large free, buffalo wings, and mozzerella bread sticks. Total wait time was 20 minutes. I have only ordered from this Papa John's location, and every time I have, I've received great service and consistently delicious pizza. Even with the projected wait for delivery (which has been estimated to almost an hour), the pizza arrives a lot sooner, piping hot and perfect. The delivery folk are always polite and friendly. Once, when I messed up an online order, they delivered the pizza without the fee and overlooked my mistake. I always enjoy coming here, and I know that I'll be getting some damn good pizza. I actually have leftovers in my fridge as I write this, and I'm still craving it. I know it's a chain, but I prefer this pizza over many of the other pizza places in Anchorage. Ordering online snags you some points you can redeem for free pizzas. That's always a good thing in my book. read more

I've been ordering from here for two years and never had problems until recently. The last four or five times over two or three months I've ordered (usually a large pie with pepperoni and extra sauce) that's been nothing but half melted cheese with a ton of grease every time. They've messed up the order every time and won't make it the way it was ordered. Either the toppings are messed up or they do not put extra sauce as requested. I'm not one to complain especially after all the times they've served me with excellent quality food and service, but I no longer recommend eating at this Papa John's. Just ordered food from them on the app at no point until they charged my account did they tell me that because of low employee amount and trafic that it would take 2 hours and 10 minutes which is unreasonable no matter what the distance in town is but i live only 10 blocks away i am just unable to go out and pick up my self. The chicken wings were burnt, tasted like ash and when i called to complain the person on the phone told me that is how they come all they do is reheat them...he asked me what is it that i wanted him to do....i told him send me another batch not burnt...the second batch was the same!!!! Worse customer service ever! We ordered a pizza and paid by credit card and then they never delivered it! Due to Covid, and being a business owner myself, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited 1 1/2 hrs before deciding there must be a problem and calling. I found out they had closed. We called the next day. The manager wouldn't even get on the phone, but we were told they had been too busy the night before and couldn't do the delivery. So they called door dash to do it and they "never showed up to get the order". So our pizza just sat there until close. At this point the manager chose to just void the ticket and go home! We didn't even get a phone call to alert us of the problem so we could try to order from somewhere else or pick it up ourselves. We had just arrived from a long flight and our kids hadn't eaten and just had to go to bed hungry. Manger never even apologized! As a business owner, I hope the owner of this branch sees this review and realizes this manage doesn't have what it takes or has his best interests in mind! Hopefully we'll at least see a refund in "3-5 business days". (By the way, the next day they were able to pull our order up by both our phone number and our room number at the hotel, so there were at least 2 different ways to get a hold of us and no chance of simply having the wrong number.) read more

Was overcharged on my carry out order even though I specifically ordered online so I would have to deal with the terrible employees as little as possible. One of them must have snuck a large tip onto my order because I was overcharged.. I called several times and finally spoke to a manager. He saw my order and saw there was a tip on it. I told him I did not leave that tip. All he said was "I'll look into it". Um, I'm telling you I didn't leave a tip and one of your employees snuck a tip onto my order. I seen the commercial on TV that stated if I didn't like my pizza I would get a free one. It's pretty hard to find a bad pizza anywhere. I ordered a combination pizzas that had pepperoni, spicy sausage, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, olives and green peppers. I ordered it online and they said I could pick it up within 15 to 25 minutes for the pizza wasn't ready for another 10 minutes after I got there at the 25 minute mark. No big deal. When I got home I was shocked after tasting that this was the most bland pizza I ever had. I called the store to take advantage of the free pizza deal and they said I had to call them within 30 minutes. After reading the fine print on the website I found out that the offer only applies to delivery orders. I would have liked to give them the opportunity to allow me to try a new pizza which I may have loved, a Hawaiian barbecue chicken which is my favorite pizza from a local vendor. Due to the deceptive commercial Papa John's will not get another chance for me I will stick with what I know is great, another pizza joint.
