I have been waiting to try Parish Barbecue for way too long. I was definitely surprised to come across them at ABW Sprinkle Valley, but I'm so glad I did. The crawfish cornbread dressing was out of this world. If you're not a fan of nutmeg, skip it. The brisket was well worth the wait and the potato salad left me wanting more. There are three food trucks there, but your safest bet for the best meal is unmistakably Parish Barbecue.

We loved the concept of BBQ with New Orleans influence, and were looking forward to the unique twist on BBQ. On a Saturday afternoon there was no wait whatsoever and seating is plentiful. Unfortunately, they were out of the Creole tomato salad and pulled duck. We ordered the turkey, brisket, and beef sausage along with vinegar slaw and the roll. We got the absolute last piece of turkey, so it may not be the best representation, but it was not our favorite (on the drier side). The brisket held up much better and was flavorful. Overall, a fun concept and a good spot to not have to wait long for some TX BBQ.

Went on a Friday afternoon and had no wait. The food was delicious and plentiful. We order one of the plates that included pretty much of everything. The brisket and turkey were excellent as were the pork ribs. The duck was pulled and came in its own container. The sideways exceeded expectations compared to other BBQ spots in Austin- homemade and hot. Tons of rolls included baked fresh at Batch with a special spicy butter. Excellent experience. Drinks available at Batch. Plenty outdoor seating. There were 5 of us with lots of leftovers we brought home. The owner came over to check on everything.

Ok before you read this review, make sure you know this review is coming from a vegetarian! Yes I am a vegetarian reviewing a barbecue place. Why am I putting this review in? Well because sometimes you have meat loving friends who want to eat barbecue and you don't want to miss out on socialization. As well I figure if the place can make sides good then hopefully that means their barbecue is good right? Located behind Batch Craft Beer and Kolaches, this barbecue trailer is super fun place to bring large groups/family as it has large outdoor seating area with picnic tables and a turf area for the kids to run around and play in. There were other trailers in the back as well, but we focused on Parish which is BBQ with a Cajun twist. We came right when they opened on Saturday at 11 am and was pleasantly surprised there wasn't a long wait. However will say by the time we ordered and got our food the popular items like pulled duck and rolls were sold out by 1 pm. We a vegetarian almost all the sides were vegetarian. I really enjoyed the pimento Mac and cheese (as did my whole group and was unanimous the favorite side out of all the sides). It's slightly sweeter than regular Mac and cheese because of the peppers. I also liked the creole tomato salad as it was nice and refreshing. The potato salad was nothing to write home about. However you must get the fried pistolette rolls!! They were DELICIOUS, buttery but not too heavy and honestly weren't overly fried. Parking wise they have shared parking but plenty of street parking if the parking lot is full.

Things happen for a reason. I went to the Egyptian BBQ truck and it was rather late and the Lamb Chops were sold out. However, earlier in the day, someone had highly recommended Parish Cajun BBQ that is literally a couple of blocks away so I headed there for my lite afternoon snack and let me tell you, I had another culinary revelation beyond measure. I ordered Beef Brisket, Pork Spareribs, and Cajun Beef Link with the Acadiana Potato Salad on the side. The brisket is bathed in Tabasco and then finished with Cajun seasonings. I failed to order moist brisket but the cuts that I got were not dry and very flavorful The Pork Spare Ribs also get their Tabasco bath and Cajun spices then finished with a light Steen's cane syrup glaze. Steen's cane syrup is a product of Louisiana. The Beef Links are house made with the Cajun Flair and I love the snap on the casing. The Acadiana Potato Salad really got my attention. I was told that the potatoes are crab boil seasoned water and then Duke's Mayonnaise, Creole mustard, eggs, olives and green onions are added for a perfect marriage of flavors. I am definitely coming back to check out the Pulled Duck Breast and the Crawfish Cornbread Dressing

This place absolutely rocks! The pitmaster, Holden, takes his time talking to you and explaining his process of smoking incredible food. They have such a unique blend of Cajun and BBQ, which is my absolute favorite combo I didn't know existed. We got spare ribs, boudin, cured ham, pickled vegetables, Mac n cheese, crawfish dressing and incredible rolls w Tabasco butter. This was one of the best meals I've had in a long long time. 5/5 no other way to look at it, thank you Parish for doing high quality bbq with a delicious twist.

Craving non traditional BBQ? Parish Barbecue has you covered! This little food truck tucked behind Batch delivers big on Cajun flavors and creative twists. I knew I was in for something special when I was greeted with a slice of brisket which was mouthwatering from the very first bite. For my meal, I went with the pulled duck and their weekly special boudin sausage. The duck was outstanding both moist, flavorful and perfectly paired with crunchy cracklings. The sausage leaned a little dry for my taste, but since it's not a regular menu item no harm done. The sides really sealed the deal. The standout was the crawfish cornbread as it was rich, indulgent and unlike anything I've tried before. It was balanced out by a refreshing tomato salad that hit the spot on a hot Texas day. I'm more of a traditional BBQ fan at heart, but when I'm in the mood for something different Parish Barbecue is absolutely at the top of my list.

If you're looking for a non-traditional BBQ spot, this is a great place to check out. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and there were no lines or long waits, which was a definite plus. Food: We ordered a little bit of everything, including brisket, ribs, the Saturday special pork belly, and pulled duck. My favorites were the pork belly and ribs, while everything else was just average. The pulled duck was our least favorite; it lacked flavor and was a bit more on the greasy side. Service: The person who took our order was friendly and took the time to explain the most popular items and offered suggestions since it was our first visit.

Food truck in East Austin with AMAZING bbq and sides. Service was quick and very nice, and plenty of outdoor seating with shade, at a brewery. Some of the best brisket I've had in Austin. The duck was also great, I'd suggest giving it a try if it's your thing. All the sides were great, but the cornbread and Mac and cheese stuck out to me the most. The cornbread is made with crawfish, which is both unique and delicious! If you like crawfish give it a try. The Mac and cheese was also tasty and more complex than your typical version. Nothing negative to say about the potato salad or coleslaw, they were good! Overall, definitely worth the drive from wherever you are to give them a try next time you're craving some bbq!

Finally went to check out Parish Barbecue after hearing many good things about them. We went on a Sunday morning and got there 5 minutes before they opened and we were the first order of the day. They were trying out pastrami burnt ends so we got some of that along with brisket, turkey, and the pulled duck. We really like the burnt ends and I the turkey was the surprise star to me! I think my expectations for the duck were too high, it was good but got cold quickly and didn't blow me away. The sides were better than average and I loved the quality pickles. You also cannot miss the rolls, they were insanely good. Service was super friendly and quick and I like that Batch has plenty of space and parking. If you like exploring the ATX BBQ scene, you have to have this spot on your list.

I came on a Sunday to meet up with my foodie friend and decided to share everything so we wouldn't go into a food coma. This spot is right outside of Batch on the east side in a food trailer. When we arrived, parking in the back was plentiful, and there was no wait. We ordered a duck sandwich, a quarter brisket, and the pimento mac and Cheese to share. All beverages are ordered inside Batch while you wait for your buzzer to go off. So we migrated inside to grab some drinks and came back out to grab our food. Out of everything that we got, I liked the sandwich because of the crunchy duck skins and slaw, but the star of the show was most definitely the mac and cheese. The brisket was probably some of the softest brisket I've had around Austin, but I think the flavors of the duck in the sandwich were a nice new addition to the BBQ scene. Will definitely come back to try out other offerings since its so close to our house!

Yall... parish you shall NOT at Parish BBQ. Where do I begin, one of my favorite IG foodies raved about this place, so before church, I got my grub on... I was expecting a line and there wasn't one... This BBQ and the sides were equally as good! The brisket was so tender that the we could've vent pick up a piece without it falling apart, the rub was delightful. The rib had this sweet peachy glaze and was fall off the bone tender. Sausage had crawfish etouffee inside and was incredible. The roll was fried kolache dough and service with a Tabasco honey butter... this was like a plain donut with a salty, spice, sweet glaze... best bread I've had at any bbq spot! The Mac n cheese has a light kick, and crunch on top. I hate Mac n cheese usually and this is so crave-able my mouth is watering as I write this review. Parish is in the yard behind Batch, ample outdoor seating and indoor seating at batch. I sate inside and had no weird you need to buy something here. The space was clean and hip and had a nice chill vibe. I'm sure the word will get out soon and Parish will have a hefty line and a long wait!!! So many more items to try!! Eat here!!!

East Austin already has several big time BBQ establishments in the city, some would even say the best in the state. For a newcomer bbq trailer to show up and make its mark it is certainly facing a wide variety of competition. Parish BBQ resides as a trailer in the rear of Batch craft beer near the intersection of Airport @ Manor Rd. It is located with several open picnic tables, an outdoor roof covering for shade along with the canopy of several large trees. The owner originates from Bossier City, Louisiana near the Shreveport area and you can certainly tell there is some cajun heritage made with this BBQ trailer. Its a small truck with just one single smoker, but they are creating a new variety of BBQ. Batch has a small parking lot but dont be surprised if it is all filled up. Parish menu consists of brisket, pork ribs, sausage but then shows some cajun roots with some smoked ham, boudin, and pulled duck. You can order meats individually, 2 or 3 meat plates with two sides, or order up a bbq sandwich. They serve an all meats platter that will feed roughly 3-4 people. Side offerings are Acadiana potato salad, Remoulade vinegar slaw, pimento mac & cheese, crawfish cornbread dressing, and creole tomato salad. They also serve their fried pistolette rolls with a side of honey butter. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket, pork ribs, crawfish cornbread, mac & cheese and also got a side roll. They provide you pager, you wait about 5-10 min and then pick up your order. For a busy Saturday, line was short, orders moved fast and service was quite friendly. Brisket certainly was moist and tender. You can tell in the seasoning there is the typical salt & pepper added with some cajun spices like cayenne pepper and tabasco. Ribs are super tender and easily fall off the bone. Brisket and ribs had a solid flavor, not a heavy smoke cook, and light bark. It seems they practice a low & slow style cooking method. The mac & cheese was fine, but I think there are better cheeses to make with it than pimento. I will say the crawfish cornbread stuffing was quite impressive. I focus on the meats when going to a bbq spot but this side dish really impressed me with its different seasonings. The fried roll was good, fresh, flaky and served with a cajun style butter to it. Parish is a new candidate in the vast list of bbq spots in Austin. It is a small operation serving up their own Louisiana style version of bbq. You realize visiting all these different bbq spots big & small, that everybody has their own style of cooking. It comes down to the wood used, seasoning rub, the smoker, length of the cook and everything in between. If you want to be in the BBQ game in Austin, you have to define your own way of cooking. Parish doesn't get to my Austin top 5 list, but it is still a good operation. The bbq doesnt have a heavy bark smoke taste to it, but certainly has a wide variety of flavors. Also Im not sure how many other spots you are going to find in Austin selling pulled duck. If you are looking for a simple bbq truck with a bit more Louisiana style taste to it, this will be a good choice

I'm sure there was more street parking around but I didn't check. I liked the unassuming, "hole in the wall" look because you know the food is going to be phenomenal. I enjoyed their paper bag neon colored wall art, especially the ice-y one ;) The suadero and al pastor were so good that I ordered even more after the first round. Unfortunately, the guava aguas frescas was not for me. Still holding hope I find a flavor I like! My friend also got the tinga de pollo and she loved it! Not dry at all. The chef who was calling out the orders is obviously a very fun dude and I'm sure he makes his co-workers life fun at the restaurant lol TL;DR GREAT TACOS - VAMOS AHORA POR FAVOR

Ordered: - Al Pastor - Sad that this is considered a special since I think this was the best one we had. It came with one piece of pineapple, I would've like more. - Suadero - Carnitas - Strawberry and Guava Fresca - yummy Got there about 1.5 hours after they opened and probably waited about 30 minutes. It was loud inside, kinda hard to hear people at the same table, good thing they do announce your order with a speaker. I appreciate all the cute artwork on the paper bags around the restaurants. Their merch was also cute.
