What a bad experience... first when I got there with a reservation they made me wait 15 minutes to get seated Bc they were focused on seating a 15 person group in front of us. Then, it took 20 minutes to get our water after we were seated after asking and in total 40 minutes for us to get our appetizers we ordered and entree to come right after with no time in between. I have had Parm a few times catered at work. The sandwiches are fantastic. The chicken cutlets are perfect I wish they had them only not just on the sandwiches. The salads I have had were classic Caesar and the faro salad. Both delicious ! The Caesar salad has homemade garlic bread croutons which are amazing. The pasta I've had is spicy rigatoni. It is hot but it is delicious ! I thought the pasta the second time I had it was a little too soft but the sauce was perfect. So much heat and so much flavor. Last but not least, Parm makes the most perfect ice cream cakes. The Smores ice cream cake is a layer of chocolate gelato, a layer of marshmallow gelato & last but not least a layer of graham cracker gelato, with tiny graham cracker crumbs. Obsessed. Stumbled in here after happy hour with coworkers since Blue Smoke had a crazy hour-long wait and I've always wanted to try this place. Definitely will be back. The waiter Bautiste was extremely knowledgable about the menu and guided us to make some great app and entree choices, and the food was just good hearty Italian food. I got the chicken parm dinner and swapped in the rigatoni instead of the spicy rotini. Fantastic! My co-workers got the fusilli with ricotta and the chicken limone. On a statue of liberty afternoon and came across this hidden gem. The server (Jason) was top notch and has a great understanding of his craft. The hot margaritas is not for the faint of heart. My husband works in the area, and always raves about this place. He took me here yesterday, and I was expecting to have the same experience he had. We were seated promptly, given the menus- I was very underwhelmed. At an Italian place I was hoping they would've had that floppy, thin crust, fall off the pan cheese pizza. Ohhh jeez what happened? I used to love this place when it first opened, the food and service has gone downhill. So I called at 4:14pm on a Friday afternoon and ordered some fusilli bolognese for pickup. But thanks to carb cravings, I ordered anyway and was told it will be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived at 4:30pm, the place was empty. No staff anywhere to be found at the counter or bar, turns out there are two bartenders that are serving the bar and the patrons dining. When I managed to get one of their attention I told them I was here for a pick-up and turns out it wasn't ready yet. So I waited a few minutes, and asked again. I was told it's ready, but they are just putting it together. Waited a few more minutes, managed to grab the other bartenders attention to charge my card so when the food is ready I can leave. Waited a few more minutes, and realized that nobody is checking on my order so I asked to speak with a manager. Turns out the manager was sitting down in the dining area with her colleagues, unaware or do not care that everyone was either waiting for their food and drinks because they have two bartenders serving the entire front portion of the restaurant. There were two people that had to get out of their seats at the bar to get the bartenders attention to get another round of drinks. But unfortunately the bartenders can't even serve them until they serve the equally as frustrated dining patrons first. That is such poor management. The manager wanted to give me a few dollars off my order - I wanted to leave the restaurant as fast as possible so I can move on with life. Keep the few dollars, I just want food in a timely fashion with service. Turns out the order wasn't "almost ready" they were still cooking the pasta. So I waited some more.... If I had time to waste, I would have Shake Shack and not bother placing a pickup order. When I finally got the food, it turns out to be awful. Do they know how to make bolognese sauce anymore? It might as well have been marinara sauce because the meat was so finely grounded and in such small quantities - you need a microscope to see it. It was freakishly empty for a big spot, but again it was a Sunday evening in the weekend ghost town of tribeca and battery park. No complaints, aside from the waitress who had a heavy hand for half the party and a lighter one for the rest. I didn't get out my glasses and measure the meniscus line BUT 3 glasses were WAY more full than the others. It was probably around 25ish min from when we ordered for the chicken parm entrees to appear. But hold up...where was the calamari? We asked the bus boy to cancel the order and then the waitress came back a few minutes later asking why we cancelled/somewhat apologizing. We clearly ordered it as an appetizer but they forgot to bring it so she had to take it off the order. I mean why would anyone eat calamari alongside chicken parm...pure madness. I had the Ozersky sandwich which was roast beef with fresh mozzarella and peppers on garlic bread it came with Italian fries which are shoestring fries with parmesan cheese and some seasonings they were excellent so good. Someone else at the table got the eggplant Parmesan which was outstanding one of the best I have ever tasted. Soft sesame roll, crunchy breading, juicy meat, fresh bright tomato sauce, and real fresh mozz makes for a damn good sandwich. Not cheap, but the larger size is a hefty portion that's well worth it. After waiting 17 minutes for my sandwich to arrive at the counter, I opened the lovey container it arrived in. It looked beautiful. Unfortunately, it was barely room temperature. Tepid eggplant parm. No. However, that was better than my lunchmate's barely cooked meatball parm. This was not cooked properly. It was not slightly pink. The meatballs were browned on the outside and raw inside. When he returned to the counter, he was asked in a mildly condescending way if he wanted his meatballs "well done". He is a nicer person than I, because he took this in stride.
