My wife and I have been here twice, the first time was excellent the second time was horrible we waited forever for our food and when it did come out the steak was over cooked and cold. Me and the Husband went here last night, with no reservation the wait was only two minutes. The place is very small, which I like. He got the lasagna and I got chicken. It took forever to get the food. The lasagna was so good, I think the best I've ever had. The chicken was really good too. It was tender and juicy. good not great. Before dinner I order a Bellini which out us back $13! Service was really slow. After we ate we wanted to pay and get out of there, was not so easy. the waiter kept walking right by us. He was not ignoring us, I think he thought we were talking. He gave us the desert menu and left again. The owner is walking around as well, she came to introduce herself and ask about the meal. Just went there on 4/19/14 with my wifes family.... everything was going well untill the meat platters we ordered for our family style main course came out stone cold and over cooked...... we sent them back and waited about 45 minutes for them to re-fire them. This is the worst place in town. Food is just OK, but the service is the worst. We arrived at 5:30 and received our food at 6:55. No appetizers or salads. A few of our party had a cocktail and some wine. They never brought new bread or asked if we wanted more. My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time. We had very high expectations because we heard about the famous homemade pasta dishes. The staff was nice and the owner greeted us with a welcoming personality. The appetizer was good, we ordered the eggplant. However, the main dishes (we both ordered the 3 pasta meal which included lasagna, ravioli, and another flat pasta. We both were not impressed and were rather disappointed. I was a great fan of Parma when they were located at Marks and Herndon. It was my favorite restaurant in Fresno. Now they have relocated to the corner of Herndon and Palm and they definitely left the great food and fine service behind. I had both a lunch and a dinner at Parma within the past month, and both the food and service were well below what you would expect at that price point. On both occasions some of the diners in our party were served their dishes (pasta as well as dessert) at least 10 minutes before the remainder of the table were served so we had the choice of watching our food congeal or letting our companions watch us eat.. The pasta was not the tender treat that I had experienced at their previous location, and everything was drowned in sauce, definitely not prepared in the traditional Italian manner. At dinner the chairs and tables were set so closely together that I was bashed in the head and back by a server 5 times during the meal. At lunch, our waiter was wearing the uniform, but his shirt looked as though it had been sat upon and his pants (front and back) were covered with old stains. He was also inattentive; we asked repeatedly for drinks which never arrived and he was very curt. I will not be taking friends and family to Parma's in the future. This place is wonderful, and owned by a wonderful Italian family. The food is very high quality and, in my opinion, fairly priced. My husband had the smoked duck dinner, and he thought it was delicious, though he did think there was a bit too much sauce on it. I had one of the chef's choice options, and loved it all. Wanted to like it, but the 4 cheese gnocchi was bland, the caprese salad only has balsamic glaze on the plate for looks, not enough for taste, and the waiter for some reason kind of seemed put out. I really wanted to love this place! The decor was nice and truly felt like a family-run restaurant. Service was great, but the food was average. I had a create your own plate where I ordered two pastas. Not very much on the plate and I didn't love the food. My son ordered lasagna and did not like it. Is it weird that I felt so appreciated that I didn't want to leave, and when I was leaving I wanted to cry? My whole life I have been looking to have this experience when going to a restaurant. The owner Elana from Italy has had the restaurant for almost 15 years! As soon as you walk in she treats you like she's your long lost mother with all the love, support, respect and not to mention over the top perfect food you could ever want out of life. I feel like I could learn a lifetime of things from her not only in personal relationships but in business and cooking. In all honesty I really did almost cry as we finished up talking to her and it was time to say goodbye. Thank you for the outstanding food and the love. We decided to sit outside since I'm big into ambiance. It's beautiful outside but the furniture seems outdated. Very 1997ish outside pool chairs.. the service was very sub par. They were nice but not overly friendly by any means. I ordered the three pasta entree. They were good but not flavorful like my grandmothers gnocchi which was a bummer. This is the second time we visited Parma. The first time was good so we decided to bring our guests on our second visit. Big mistake, We waited over 15 minutes after being seated and had to stop one of the waiters so they would notice us. This started off the tone of the evening, and went downhill from there. We stumbled upon Parma during a road trip from SF to LA. We wanted pizza and spaghetti so we drove around and found a little strip mall that had an italian restaurant. We were in jeans looking pretty ragged so when we walked in the door we got several stares from many of the tables. I quickly realized that we were in a much finer place than we had anticipated. We ordered that lasagna and a few other dishes that I can't quite recall but everything was so beautiful. The lasagna had a bechamel sauce that was absolutely divine! I went there for my sister's wedding reception. One of the most remarkable dinners I have ever had. I can't wait to come back to town and go back for lunch and dinner. The owner makes it extra special and all of the wait staff are polite and there for your every need. What a wonderful place for a special occasion. Two of us went for dinner last night, our first time, we didn't have a reservation so we sat at the bar which I actually preferred. All the food was awesome and our server was the nicest guy. The owner was also there, she helps take out a lot of the food which I thought was a really nice touch, and she came up and introduced herself to us, she's the cutest little thing! I had the tagliatelle with duck ragu which was awesome and my friend had the ravioli with pecorino, arugala, and walnuts...I think his may have actually been better than mine. We had our 37th anniversary dinner at PARMA. Our first time there and will not be our last. We love pasta so my wife had the lasagna and she said it was the best she has ever had. I had a few bites and I agree it was special. I could not make up my mind so I asked the owner Elena it the trio of pasta was the way to go. I had veal ravioli, gnocchi, and the third one was flat noodle (forget the name) with a ragu of beef and port. Wonderful but the veal was my favorite. We wanted some wine with dinner and we each had a glass, since I only have one. I went for the Lambrusco just because I like a little sweet. My wife had the merlot. Then we wanted to try the desserts so we went with the trio and had creme brulee and chocolate mousse and marescopne cheese cake...mmmmm they were all good. I love the brulee crisp sugar topping, and could have a bowl of that. I forgot to mention with the pasta before we got it actually the waiter brought chunks of parmasan 4 year aged cheese....wow that was so flavorful. My only complaint and its minor....with all the great food we had the complimentary bread was just basic sliced french style bread. We were surprised they didnt make their own bread and serve it hot. We were there about 2 hours and it flew by, as we enjoyed our conversation and didnt feel rushed. We highly recommend PARMA. read more

We love this place! This is the best Northern Italian food I've had outside of Italy. The decor and ambiance is perfect and so romantic. 5 stars all the way! Food was amazing! atmosphere was nice and cozy but didn't feel like I was crammed in there like a sardine, and the service was impeccable! Which is hard to find these days. The owner also went around to each table shaking hands and letting everyone know she was there if they needed anything. Love that! Also very rare these days. It wasn't too pricey but wasn't cheap either. You get what you pay for and here, you're paying for fresh, authentic, delicious Italian food with great service and a comfortable environment to go along with it!
