We went midday on a Sunday for lunch and the restaurant had a great ambiance. Live music on the patio with a mix of birthday and brunch crowd. The interior is unique and cool looking with vaulted ceilings and an upcycled industrial vibe. Service was great, attentive but not smothering. We ordered two sandwiches and a flatbread. All the food came out hot and felt fresh, not like any of the components had been sitting in hot pans or under heat lamps. We finished with the tiramisu specials which were light and fit the early summer season. Prices for the dishes and drinks were on par with comparable restaurants, with a little more value in my opinion. All in all, it's great that someone has invested in bringing a different dining experience to Santa Paula. It's worth the drive and ongoing patronage. read more

We went for brunch on Mother's Day. The patio was very busy, but inside had only a couple of tables occupied. We opted to sit in a booth inside. We waited for 20 minutes before my husband got up and asked the bartender to help us. Meanwhile the owner was walking around talking to people. We came in today for a birthday lunch and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After being seated by Heather, she took our appetizer order but never came back to check on us. While we waited, two other groups were seated after us and were helped and served before we were, even though we had been there first. At one point, it felt like we were being overlooked, as she would walk by without acknowledging us. After about 15-20 minutes of waiting and only after we asked who our server was someone finally came to take our order. Then the food came 40 mins after. It's honestly disappointing because I've always loved this place, especially the Brussels sprouts, but this was our fourth visit where the service has continued to decline. I was definitely a bit disappointed and surprised we didn't love it after all the great reviews and pics. No one loved their food. Plus it was expensive for the lack of flavor. Our Fillmore friends wanted us to try a new place in Santa Paula and what a wonderful find. The owner took an old business building and converted into a fabulous dining experience. Also creating an outdoor area ready for those sunny warm days with plenty of tables, landscaping and a beautiful water feature. Now let's get to the food, our waiter David was our guide through the culinary adventure, helpful, happy and whitty he made the evening even more enjoyable. Our first time at Parque 1055 we wanted to try the small sharable to get a variety of tastes and did not disappoint. We started with the stuffed avocado then the sand dabs and artichoke hearts both served with house made tartar sauce and a fresh herb dip for the artichoke hearts. We closed with the Daily Farmers Soup which was Potato Leek and all were delizioso. Now I enjoy ending my meal with something sweet and we tried the Creme Brulee it it also did not disappoint. I saw some of the other entrees being served to fellow diners and they looked incredible. When I return I will be trying the Salmon Filet and Sea Bass, both looked amazing. We have been dealing with the fires and anxiety of these disasters and this was a small reprieve and wonderful way of enjoying a meal. What a great restaurant! The premises themselves presents as clean, solid & all new. The red brick covered building keeping the vintage look & charm of old Santa Paula. The staff was super helpful & friendly. The waiter was great. The apps- crispy artichoke hearts- the best we have ever had. So delicious. The flatbread, burger, mushroom risotto (my favorite) and the roast beef sandwich with the au jus- yum! We all loved our food & ambiance and are looking forward to our next visit. There were only 5 or 6 tables of people in a very large restaurant. My wife decided on a cocktail and my son a mocktail. Drinks were very good, but they took a while to get. The waitress was also the bartender. Finally got the drinks and ordered appetizers. Again, took a while to get. It didn't help that the food runner gave them to a different table. My wife and son ordered another round of drinks and we ordered our meal.... Another long wait. The drinks finally come, they were top notch. Food shows up and it was absolutely delicious. The Good: This is a brand new restaurant in downtown Santa Paula, has a modern industrial look with high end touches. The patio area is nice with a backdrop waterfall and heaters for those cold evenings. They have a huge bar, with delicious craft cocktails. They also have huge flatscreens playing your favorite football games. The menu offers a variety of options from pasta, sandwiches, burgers, and steak. Customer service was great and staff members worked together to ensure a positive experience. Evan was our waiter and he was phenomenal. The Bad: There weren't any detractors during my visit. There are some areas of improvement as with any new restaurant, but I'm sure they will work out the small kinks. The Ugly: The food was more expensive than expected. I ordered their signature steak which was delicious, but it left me wanting more. If the portions were a bit bigger I think there wouldn't be an issue because everything tasted very good. This restaurant has a lot of potential, which made our Father's Day visit especially disappointing. My husband, my father, and I came in excited to try the tomahawk special and whiskey tasting, but the service fell well below expectations from the start. Our servers seemed unaware of the Father's Day special, which immediately created confusion. The situation worsened when the individual we assumed was a manager delivered the whiskey tasting by placing glasses on the table with her fingers inside them--despite the glasses already appearing unclean--and casually remarked that her hands were "somewhat clean." This was both unprofessional and concerning from a hygiene standpoint. When our food was delivered, there was no follow-up or check-in to ensure everything was satisfactory. Attempts to get assistance from staff were largely ignored. At one point, when we finally managed to get the attention of a busser, another server interrupted, redirected him, and turned her back on us before we could even finish our request, without any acknowledgment. We were also told by the host that the restaurant was "busy," which did not appear to be the case and did not justify the level of inattentiveness we experienced. The only redeeming aspect of our visit was the quality of the food--kudos to the chef for delivering a great meal. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable Father's Day celebration. read more

Big surprise to find a place like this in Santa Paula, of all places! (We do not live there, but decided to do a field trip from Ojai.) Really enjoyed the experience. Food we had was tasty and nicely presented. We had the ATM salad, the braised short rib, and the salmon. For dessert we enjoyed the affogato and the lava cake ( a special when we were there). Great selection of wines, and a huge selection of other drinks. Bar was tended by 2 bartenders. The service was friendly and attentive--both the servers and the bartenders. Ambiance: Depending on what generation you belong to (Baby Boomers vs. Gen X, Y, or Z) you will love it, or maybe not. The space is huge, and bare high-ceiled. There is a 4-square bar in the center, and 6 mounted TV monitors, so anyone at the bar can be in a TV sightline. Fortunately for us (technically older than even Baby Boomers), it was a very quiet night when we were there. I imagine on busy nights the place will be very very noisy. We suggest you be seated at one of the booths around the edges--gives a bit more quiet and cozy spot. For those who like dining that way, there are also several high-top tables closer to the bar area. For those who like al fresco dining there is a huge outdoor patio area, as large as the dining room space. Overall---a great place. We wish it well and hope it thrives. read more

I have been to this restaurant at least 8 times since they opened. They started out great, food was good, drinks were good, service was good. But there has definitely been a change. I noticed it first when my go to dessert- the local citrus tart- was different. Smaller, soft pastry, and missing the citrus bite it used to have. The waiter said they had a new dessert chef and had changed pastry vendors (so not being made in house). We've been a couple more times since. One night there was only one server on staff, and she did the best she could. But I think tonight may be our last night. My shrimp scampi risotto was fine, but not something I'd order again, especially for $35 to get 5 (yes- large) shrimp and a bowl of cheesy rice. And like others have reviewed, the burgers my husband and kids ordered were dry as can be, looked like frozen patties, tasted burnt and had no flavor to the meat. Funny thing is- I offered to make burgers at home, but husband said no, we're having a baby in two days, let's go out and not have a mess to clean. I do want to point out that the server was great. I am not sure if there has been a change in management, ownership, chef, or just trying to cut corners to save money, but there has definitely been a change and not for the better. read more

The food was delicious! The veggie panini was a good food to eat if you were feeling like eating healthy, but the BBQ Pork Banh Mi was to die for! Oh my god!! It was soooooo good! And the fries! We drove in to Santa Paula for the afternoon and we were told about this gem. Jacob was our server and was so hospitable, so was the manager Tommy. The owner, Bob, even stopped by the table to ask us about our dining experience. He told us about the live music and showed us pics with every table filled from the previous evening. This place is absolutely amazing! It's so beautiful and elegant inside. So much seating available. I love the open space layout with the bar in the middle. It just has a wonderful atmosphere. Looking forward to going here offer for events, friend and family dinners. I had the Cesar salad with chicken and it was delicious! The dressing is like no other. I've tried the Parque margarita and spritz and they are both so good! Definitely something to try. Overall to top it all off the customer service was outstanding! Went for the first time today. It was a comedy of errors. Wait staff seemed confused and didn't know the menu. All staff running around in an almost empty restaurant. Food was well below par. First and foremost, the service is absolutely impeccable. Not only was our server Dawn extremely attentive, but another gentleman kept checking on us and even brought us clean water for our pup. Yes, it is dog, friendly for all you fur baby lovers out there! The restaurant is beautiful, featuring clean lines, and a simple elegance to it. Moreso, the food is absolutely outstanding and the price point and quality could not get any better. In all reality, if this restaurant was in Ventura, or Ojai they could charge double for the quality of food. My hats off to Chef Rafa, who came out and personally greeted us. I have to admit I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to food as my brother is a well-known chef in Ojai Valley who has been featured in Vogue magazine for his pixie creations, but Chef Rafa hit it out of the park! We started with a charcuterie board that paired perfectly alongside their mimosa flight. For brunch, we shared a classic Benedict accompanied by the Caesar salad. I'm not a fan of Caesar salad that is heavily drenched in anchovy, this was probably one of the best Caesar salad salads I've ever had, if you do not like anchovy and you are a fan of Caesar, I highly recommend! My partner was still hungry, so he ordered a pepperoni flatbread, which was also quite tasty and accompanied our cocktails well. It was my birthday, so we finish it off with my favorite dessert, which was crème brûlée, and let me tell you, the crème brûlée was not only silky, but quite buttery and delicious. Additionally, I must compliment the bartender/mixologist, as every drink was outstanding. Overall, Parque 1055 is now my favorite restaurant in Santa Paula, I highly recommend (and I am a foodie snob) just sit outside, have a cocktail, and enjoy this hidden Santa Paula gem. read more

UPDATE 2/2025. We had dinner with another group of friends there a few days after our first visit. We had an experienced server, which really helped make the experience better (thanks Jennifer). We tried a few dishes we hadn't tried before. The chowder was amazing! Our friends (who dine out 3-4 times a week) said it was the best they've ever had. I had the crab stuffed avocado, and wouldn't order it again. It just didn't have any interesting flavor notes (bland). Instead of the Cod, I ordered the sea bass--which was also excellent. I'm looking forward to dining here in the summer, when I presume they'll open up the large glass garage doors that connect the interior with a nice patio. My rating is "average" (3/5) because while much of my first experience here was good, there's room to do better. My father chef and owned restaurants, so I have first hand knowledge of how difficult it is. We started with cocktails. On paper, they sounded great, but in the end lacked sophistication and a clear flavor punch. They also arrived watered down, an issue that recurred with the bar. For example, when I received my main course, I ordered another round, but my drink didn't arrive until I was finished eating--even though I was there on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant had no more than 12 customers (and 8 front house staff). With cocktails we had calamari. The salt-and-pepper batter was tasty, but the calamari was tough (presumably over-cooked). Won't order that again--which is a shame because my husband loves calamari. For main courses, one person ordered paella, another the filet and I ordered the Cod (along with our 4th guest). The cod was beautifully cooked and the miso sauce both sweet and tangy, very good balance. Good portion. Only problem with this dish is that it had tiny bones in it (would be nice if the prep team would remove fish bones). The cous cous foundation was a bit dry, but the eggplant (which I normally don't like) tasted like mushroom, which worked well. I got a taste of the paella (good), but our guest who ordered the filet finished it, so I think he liked it! We then ordered 4 deserts: chocolate lava cake (excellent); raspberry sorbet (fine); crème brule (not sufficiently set, a bit runny, but otherwise fine) and a deep-fried ice cream, which was very awkward to eat (too large, and the shell was not that flavorful, tough and chalky...won't order that again). The service was friendly, but lacked experience for a restaurant positioning itself as high end. You won't find professional servers here, but rather young people working while in school or whatever. Nice kids, with basic training, but lack experience shows (e.g., not adequately tracking drink orders and keeping the bar tender on his toes). Hope this helps! We're going again on Monday for a second try with a different couple. Will update this review if anything changes. read more

A fabulous spot for a family get-together! While I grew up in Santa Paula in the 50s and 60s, I was starting from scratch to host a family reunion from afar. Parque 1055 was recommended as the cool new restaurant in town, so I reserved their Wine Room as my venue, hoping for a quiet spot. Heather, the event coordinator, was very competent, and knew just how to make the party a success. When I arrived, she was there making sure all went smoothly. Lived how the two roll doors were open to the outdoor patio. Music playing in the background was nice because it wasn't loud like some other restaurants. Waiter was really friendly. Food.. I personally wasn't too thrilled about. Chicken was tasty, very tender. Asked for chimichurri on the side but it was placed right on top when I received it.
