Great sautéed catfish, black-eyed peas and top top collards! Even the biscuit was a wow. Warm and soft, not stale or over-rolled. A nice surprise at the airport. I'm glad I didn't settle for a pre -made sandwich. Not sure why the low rating. The ladies working the line were quick and as helpful as could be. Easily the best fried chicken I have ever had. I normally don't like white meat as it tends to be dry, but the chicken breast I got in the 3 piece meal was juicy and wonderful. I got a 3 piece fried chicken meal with a biscuit, collard greens, candied yams, and a drink for just over $12. Given the amount and quality of food, that would be a good deal outside the airport. At the airport it's a fantastic deal. In addition to the chicken, the collards were great, being perfectly cooked with a great bite and a little spice. the biscuit was good, and the candied yams were nice; not overly sweet. Ordered a takeout ham and cheese on rye sandwich. Two typical slices of bread with ham and cheese and some lettuce. Inedible due to salt content, found this out after I had boarded my flight unfortunately. Straight from the the sticker on the sandwich "sodium 2253mg 94%". Very nice workers. Quick service. But I swear the baked chicken was cooked in urine. It smelled and tasted horrific. I've eaten all over the South and never tasted "seasoning" like that. We chose this based on it's good reviews on Yelp, but boy were they wrong. We arrived at 7:50pm for our 8:00pm dinner reservation on Fri, July 5th, but were not seated until 8:20pm. We then had to wait almost 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We had to go find someone to ask for bread, and it eventually arrived. Our appetizer didn't arrive until 9:45pm (over and hour and 20 mins after we ordered it), and only after I had to find someone to ask if they planned to serve us at all. When our food finally came (well past 10pm), my wife's order was wrong, as they had one item completely wrong and one missing altogether. We pointed it out to the waiter, but it was never rectified. Our entire table was so frustrated by that time that no one really wanted to eat at all. The food I tasted was mediocre at best. Neither the waiter, nor management seemed concerned that things were so horribly wrong. This was the worst dining experience I have had in a loooooong time, and I'd never go back to this place again if you paid me to do so!!! read more

Stuck in Atlanta, lots of flights-mine too canceled due to weather but this food is fabulous, tasty and a comfort! You gotta try it!

Paschal's to me was great because I had the best experience ever there on 6/25/2021 I was in between terminal when I asked my bodyguard where should we eat there no places to eat here and a young man said I know a spot on concourse B you will love name Paschal's I said what kind of restaurant is it he said Soul Food Baby I said ok I'm going so we got the train we found it and The line was long but I got in it I said if it's this long then the food must be great so I finally made it to the line the first lady was doing the The Line By Herself she said To Me Hello My Name Is Fern what would you like to enjoy I said Wow to myself because I've been to a million restaurant and I have never gotten a welcome so warm as that so I told her what I would like to enjoy then she said tell which two signature sides would you like to enjoy I smiled and said Mac and Collards and she said to me would you like to enjoy the cornbread that comes with it I said sure and after she made my meal it look so so good she said is there anything else I can get for you I said no that would be all then she put the icing on it by saying it was a pleasure serving you thank you and have a great day. Now That's what I call great customer service and believe it or not she said that to each and every customer Thank You Fern For That Great Customer Service Every Restaurant should have a Person Like You in Place and The Food Was Fantastic and guess what every time I come to Atlanta I will make this my stop. read more

it may have been airport breakfast, but it was my last shot at some cheese grits before heading back to phoenix. the eggs were fine, the biscuit was actually not bad, but the cheese grits were awesome. a little on the thick side, but cheeeeeeezy! they offer sausage and even fried catfish but i figured i owed it to my arteries to hold off until next year. the coffee wasn't too bad either. read more

I had 4 hrs to kill in the airport in Atlanta, GA but boy this place made it worth it. I had the baked chicken (juicy and great spice mix whatever it was) with black eyed peas (tasty and not mealy at all) and candies yams (pure deliciousness). I ordered the fried chicken meal. The breast pieces were large and crispy and juicy. The seasoning is a bit spicy, in a good way, in my opinion. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted instant. The portions for the sides were large. The corn was buttery and served warm. The biscuit appear to be not well mixed in the preparation. There were some chunks of flour and it was very dense. They have good iced tea but no lemon. Service is without a smile. I guess it was a very long day for the servers as well as us, hungry travelers. read more

What can you expect from an airport restaurant, I didn't come in with high expectations. I just wanted to get some lunch and a beer during my layover and this place looked fine enough. The menu was filled with what I would consider "southern" food, lots of fried items. I opted for just a bacon cheeseburger, and it was cooked a little too much for my taste and was a little dry. I don't know if I was just starving coming off the plane, but I didn't know you can get food this good at an airport. I got the fried chicken, dark, collard greens, fried okra and cornbread. I was asked if I wanted something sweet to compliment the meal and I kindly declined. I'm more of a savory over a sweet type of person. The chicken was fried to perfection, crispy but super moist inside. The greens had great flavor. You could tell they had been boiling for a long time, didn't have a bitter aftertaste. The okra was similar to the way I described the chicken, still moist in the middle. It could've came with some kind of dipping sauce, but maybe I should've gotten something sweet. What has happened to my beloved favorite airport restaurant? I used to travel in and out of Hartsville literally every week and I would eat breakfast and dinner at Paschal's 30 to 40 weeks out of the year. No joke. And it was absolutely delicious every time. Went to Terminal B for the first time in a few years to pick up some chicken, collard greens and macaroni and cheese the other day and that food looked terrible! It looked like it had been sitting there since July. The macaroni and cheese was dry and crusty and the collard greens were swimming in the last flood. The chicken was not fried the way they used to fry it which was fresh with flaky crust. It was soggy and parts of the flakiness were missing. It actually look like something that have been frozen, whether it was or was not. The piece they were going to give me was dry and missing part of the skin! They know black people don't eat fried chicken like THAT! Lol To their credit, they were willing to fry up another piece but I had a flight to catch so I took a pass. The Thrill is Gone. read more

Plenty of vegetables: today my choices were black eyed peas, collards, mashed potatoes, stewed squash, green beans. Great fried chicken. Get your meal in a to-go plate if you're inclined to use your cornbread to soak up the juice from your greens. Otherwise, everything mixes together. And don't tell your cardiologist. read more

I had a 5 hour layover in Atlanta thanks to Airtran weird schedule to Branson, MO. I had read about Paschal and was looking forward to a good meal. I enjoyed the fried chicken with sides of candied yams (my favorite) and rice. The fried chicken and yams were soo soo good. The rice not so much. It was suppose to have been seasoned but I didn't see and taste any seasoning. It was more like boil-in-bag rice. total meal with ice tea was $17. Almost missed this place, as I normally run to chic-fil-a whenever Im at this airport. It was actually my husband's lead I followed this time he ordered a 2 pc. Chix dinner during a short layover I originally opted not looking for something else by the time we got to the end of the terminal nothing was there so I was gonna pass but he offered me a taste of his food and man O man my taste buds were dancing, thank heavens the plane was a little latr getting in so I ran a mad dash allllllll the way back to the restaurant which of course had a pretty long line by now& only 10 minutes to go before boarding and I was in zone one!!! Finally get to the front of the line NO chicken and another 7 minute wait (here comes the food review) so I had the chicken fingers very tasty along with mac n cheese, corn muffin & collard greensthe sweet tea (yummy) I don't have one complaint about this food it was every thing southern cuisine should be almost like grandma made it salty,crispy flavorful in every way...so why didn't I give 5 stars I thought the customer service was crappie between the older women at the register and the young guy on the line they had poor attitudes and didn't seem to no pep in their steps just way to slow, knowing ppl have flights to catch, But there was an older gentleman who finally came out to serve and the line picked up he was my saving grace made it back to my area with 3 minutes to spear. read more

This is my go-to place whenever I connect in Atlanta. I ALWAYS get the fried fish, grits, and eggs. The food is fresh and hot. They are known for their fried chicken so you can't go wrong there. If passing through the south, this is the closest you'll get to down south, home cooking without leaving the airport. read more

Really, I don't understand the negative reviews from some folks here. I ate there coming and going to South Carolina, and OMG was it good. The people were super friendly as well. I just went to the one you walk up and order at, so can't speak for the other one. Collard Greens, blackeyed peas, smothered steak and cornbread. Top off with peach cobbler and sweet tea. That was 3 months ago and haven't lost the pounds yet, but I would do it all over again. You have to give this place a try if you need your southern food fix. read more

Paschal's is surprisingly good for an airport food court restaurant. Since the food is kept warm in a steamer tray, it is not as fresh as a normal bbq place, but it is still flavorful and satisfying. The pulled pork is tasty with just the right amount of kick from the spices. It is similar to the South Carolina vinegar based bbq but a bit sweeter. The rice was properly cooked as were the biscuits. Avoid the fried okra as it was disappointing. It was flavorless and mushy from the steamer tray. Other than that I recommend Paschal's. read more

They need to learn to plan their food prep requirements and timing. No excuse at lunch time. Doesn't matter if the food is good if you can't get it. By far the absolute best airport food ever. Been flying for 40 years, and have been in this airport several times. Left San Pedro, Belize early this morning. That includes a boat taxi, puddle jumper and a 2 1/2 hour delay at the Belize international. By the time I got to Hartsfield I was prepared to eat just about anything, we had 30 minutes to eat and the lines were long. Instead, my sweetheart spotted a diner eating fried chicken, he pointed to the corner of the concourse B food court, and there it was. Great fried chicken, perfect collard greens and black eyed peas. Decided to eat her during a layover because of all the good reviews. Idk what all the hype is about. Ordered the three piece chicken meal. I got a breast and a thigh and then when it came time for my third piece of meat the server pulled out the smallest wing I've ever seen. She looked at it and probably thought the same thing I did so she started digging through the other meat for at least a minute looking for a better sized wing when she finally gave up and put the small wing back in my box. I thought whatever everything else will be fine. I ordered the Mac and cheese and fried okra as my sides. The Mac and cheese was ok at best but the okra was cold and so was the chicken. Then I got a biscuit and surprise, that was also cold. I really regret wasting money on this place for that meal. read more
