This is a small pie. It was delicious and fresh

This is a little pizza place recommended by a friend. The ride is around 40 minutes from Hartford but is worth it. The dough of the pizza is fresh and doesn't have the after taste of yeast. It was one of the best pizzas i had in a long time. The ambience of the place is very humble and comfortable. If you are around Hamden, Ct. You must visit this little place. I am sure you are going to be impressed as i was.

Stopped in for take out after kids evening activities. Cheese pizza crust was so thin the sauce and cheese made it soggy by the time we got home. Pepperoni pizza was In slightly better but had the cheese slide as well. The crust was just a little thicker so not soggy. Best item by far was the Italian Comco Sub. The slice app offered $5 off $25 purchase, and they have a Monday thru Wednesday special with large cheese pizza and two 20 oz sodas for $20. If you are looking for good pizza drive a few miles further south to New Haven.

    This is not extra sausage

Ordered & paid 4 extra sausage. Literally 1 piece os sausage per slice: Pizza, cold and doughy. Would not recommend P&E's. Would give them 1.2 out of 10.

Solid New Haven style thin slice. Bright flavorful sauce and good char on edges and bottom. Would happily return.

If you're in the Hamden area this is one of my favorite local pizza joints! The Margarita pizza is hands down my favorite pie. It has become a weekly dinner in our house to order from Pul and Eddys.

Pizza place with excellent food where only the locals know about it. Takes a lot stand out around the famous New Haven pizza places!

"Desmond has a barrow in the marketplace Molly is the singer…read morein a band Desmond says to Molly, "Girl, I like your face" And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand" (Lennon and McCartney) Man oh man do we love our Italian markets and delis. And we sure found a good one in Hamden on Friday. We saw refrigerated cases full of pastas and raviolis, counters with trays of pizzas, showcases with trays of prepared foods like sausage and oeooers, eggplant rollatinis, and seafood marinara, a sandwich counter for cold cuts, and a baked goods counter. We narrowed our want list down to three very different items. We bought two slices of their sausage pizza, two garlic knots, and three eggplant rollatinis. The pizza was fantastic! Super thin crust, plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of cheese, a very good sauce and delicious sausage chunks. Oh, and the slices were enormous. We made a dinner out of the eggplant and garlic knots. The eggplant was sliced so thin, and was so soft and tender, it resembled lasagna noodles! The rollatinis were loaded with ricotta cheese and marinara sauce and it was a fantastic dish. We split the three rolls and let me tell ya, one and a half rolls were plenty for dinner. The garlic knots were ridiculously loaded with garlic, not teeny tiny shavings, but big hunks of garlic cloves. Needless to say, they were fantastic as well. Our total cost was $24.66, and Sapori threw in four complimentary slices of fresh Italian bread with our order. We really loved Sapori a lot.

Our table was in the back area so I was able to look around at the rest of the restaurant as we were seated. We ordered an appetizer caesar salad which was large enough for 3 and was delicious. I am not necessarily a huge fan of thin crust pizza, but am open to trying new things. The crust was not crispy at all... it was chewy and delicious. The sauce was perfect. We ordered a medium which was on the edge of being just enough or not quite large enough for 3 hungry people including a 22 year old athletic man with a large appetite. Turned out it was just enough! When we left there was a line in their entry way and plenty of people waiting outside... and I'm sure it was definitely worth the wait! Fortunately for me my plane was delayed so that we could enjoy this iconic Connecticut pizza place.

Mozzarella Pizza, Sausage, Mushroom: Standard New Haven Apizza, the char and cheese were just right, and the crust was crispy and aromatic. However, the seasoning was mainly savory and noticeably salty. Apart from a hint of rosemary in the aftertaste, there wasn't much flavor complexity or surprise. There was a long queue on Tuesday night, and I waited for about 20 minutes. It has a good reputation among locals, but I guess it just wasn't to my taste.

There's about 8 booths- It's a bit on the small side but the food was fantastic. Hubby and I were born and raised in NYC. It's been so long we've had really good pizza. John and Steve brought out pie after pie. We had the plain, plain with grated cheese, tomato with fresh mozzarella, clam with bacon, mangia special, Stevie Gs apple pizza, mashed potato pizza. We brought in our homemade suppi and they put it on some of our pies. We also tried the eggplant Parmesan and garlic knots. The plain pies, mashed potato, and the mangia special were my favorites but really everything there was top notch. There is nothing that I wouldn't order again. The crust is nice and crunchy. Good char on it. Sauce was delicious - not sour like straight from a can. Toppings were better than I expected for a small pizza spot. Sausage was tasty. Mushrooms were fresh not tinned, fresh tomatoes and basil. Tons of clams on the pizza. Bacon was thick sliced and left almost whole. Eggplant was sliced thin. Generous with the toppings. Even better than their pizza- is their service. It was my first time meeting them and I felt like an old friend. They were so friendly, chatted with us, told us stories -- we really had a good time. The older gentleman who brought out the food and took away the empty trays was very thorough- checked in on us regularly. Mangia Apizza is easy to miss - connected to Vick's Cafe (really it's a bar). Stop in and grab a pizza. You won't be sorry. And if you want someone to talk your ears off - stop in and eat at a booth. I wish they were closer!!

This place is small, unapologetic, and full of character. Decorative firewood stacked with intention, walls filled with wine corks, and #10 tomato cans repurposed as pizza stands. Walk in and you immediately catch the vibe, exposed brick, distressed plaster, a slightly industrial, almost factory-style feel that somehow still feels warm and welcoming. The centerpiece of the room is the wood-fired oven, running hot and glowing with that perfect orange flame. The aroma of burning wood hits you right away and sets the tone. From that moment on, the culinary experience is in motion. We ordered The Mootz and Breaking My Meatballs. Both pies are built on a very thin, tender crust with beautiful leoparding. The dough is flavorful and clearly well-fermented. Sauce is applied with restraint, just enough to support the dough and cheese without overpowering them, and it delivers a clean, bright tomato flavor. Breaking My Meatballs was the standout. Homemade meatballs, herbed ricotta, cherry peppers, mozzarella, and that same balanced sauce. The cherry peppers bring a sharp vinegar tang that cuts perfectly through the richness of the ricotta and meatballs. Every bite hits a different note, and it all works together. Easily one of my favorites. The crust across the board was thin and tender with a delicate smoky char from the wood fire, exactly what you want from this style. Bottom line: Great spot. Excellent pizza. Super friendly staff

One 6 Three is an unusual name - it's a small and cozy spot with few tables and bar seating, set in a residential neighborhood. We tried the gluten free crust (available only in 12") American margherita pie and added mushrooms in half of it. The wood fired crust was well done, I really liked it. Lots of garlic, yum.
