Paul & Eddy's has really good pizza. I took my daughter here for a date. And there were no complaints. The waitress was really nice, the place was clean, and it definitely has a family feel. I will be coming back in the future. Price was good, a Med pie with two drinks for less than $20. I'll take it!! read more

Whenever I am in the mood for a good pizza, I know this place is one call away from brining it to the table. I enjoy their antipasto salad, it is always fresh and made to order. Their wraps are also good (but can someone tell me why it does not come with a side order and all of them are close to $7.00 a piece) I would enjoy it more if they came with a pickle, or some coleslaw which could add to it. I could never just get a wrap and have that by itself. It is not very filling! The calzone is also great and pizza is hearty and filling. Not sure what took us so long to try Paul & Eddys. Maybe because we have our favorites and rarely find good delivery in Hamden. Ordered delivery tonight and we'll definitely order again. Like another post said "won't knock your socks off" but I think that's because we live in the epicenter of the best pies in the nation... So opinions can get brutally skewed. The deal... I ordered 2 pizzas to be delivered tonight. They said it would be 1 1/2 hours. Not a problem. After about 1 hour and 20 minutes, I happened to look out my front door. There were the 2 pizzas sitting on a table. No phone call, no doorbell, no knock on the door. Both pizzas were cold. I called to complain and they said they could give a credit or send 2 more. I asked for the credit. We will see what happens! Should have said I was paying in cash so they would have to ring the bell. Additionally, ordered a special with everything on it. Pizza is mediocre if you eat it in the restaurant, gross if taken home or delivered. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and they delivered dry penne with burnt meatballs. I called back to say they got the order wrong and the guy was rude and hung up on me. I tried eating what they delivered and kept biting bits of cartilage. This is definitely my go to place for delivery pizza in Hamden. It's consistently very good "New Haven-style" pizza. Good enough to satisfy my pizza craving without having to drive and then wait in 1-hour long lines. That's priceless. Excellent toppings but an otherwise limited menu. Not really a place you'd go to eat out (unless you happen to be driving your kids home from soccer practice) but for take-out and delivery, give it a try. read more

I LOVE Paul & Eddy's! I've only had their pizza and salad (haven't tried any sandwiches or dinners), but I think their pizza is FANTASTIC. For a neighborhood pizza joint with no long lines and no attitude, I'll take it any day and save myself the aggravation of some of those New Haven spots. I'm blessed that I live close enough to P & E's that I can walk there. I agree that the service can be all over the place...from fast and efficient to downright ditzy, depending on who your server is, but I'll still keep going back for the yummy no attitude pizza. read more

I believe this one is overpriced. The ingredients are poor; the cheese is clumpy, the sauce is lackluster. Personally, I prefer others over it. I have no problem paying for pizza as it is my favorite food, especially living in a haven for the industry, but this one is nothing special. Take a pass. read more

This is just down the road from New Haven so there is not such a crowd. This thin crust pizza has fine ingredients and the staff is friendly and less stressed. Certainly it is competitive or better than the very best pizza places in New Haven. People say New Haven pizza is very competitive from the get go and I do not believe this is true at all and that some are certainly better than others. Paul & Eddy's is a standout. If I lived in the New Haven area, this is the pizza place I would go to as I do not like to go to a place that is crammed with people, and crammed with tables and you can't have a good conversation and have to say "what?" all the time. The interior is good, not the greatest, no booths. Decent seating, so you will feel comfortable and your body will fit in the chairs and tables. It is excellent for casual dining for individuals and families. They serve regular beer and darker ales as well. read more

I was in a pinch when I found out at the last minute that I needed to take lunch to an office of 18 people. Paul & Eddy's was recommended, so I stopped by at 10:45am and asked them to prepare a variety of 12" sandwiches. They made them all within 15 minutes and had them nicely displayed on a couple of covered trays. The sandwiches were a hit at the office. I was very impressed with the promptness of the order, especially on such short notice. The trays looked amazing and the food was excellent. read more

This rating is on the strength of the Chicken parm Grinder (sub, hero whatever your people call it). If you want good pizza order here, if you want great pizza drive ten minutes south to the best pizza in the world (Sally's etc...) If you want a FANTASTIC chicken parm, this is the place. With succulent, moist chicken you can tell is fresh not frozen, a very nicely balanced red sauce (not too sweet like most places) and plenty of mozzarella on fresh bread. This is comfort food for me. It's a little pricey for the actual quality but it was one of the better ones in the area, although that's not saying much. But they don't seem to like repeat business. After 4 deliveries, was told I lived a little bit too far outside their radius and they would not be delivering to me, even when I offered extra money for the driver to compensate for the additional distance. Went there again and the pizza wasn't even half as good. Cheese basically rolled right off the pizza when you picked up a slice. It's almost like they grease the crust underneath the cheese. Sice moving from brooklyn i have been systematically trying all the pizza around the hamden area. While it will never be the same, Paul and Eddies is at the top of my list for consistently tasty pizza. Their sauce is not too tangy, and their cheese is delicious and quality. Its super convenient they are a stones throw from my house, however if i cant pick it up, they are more than happy to deliver right around the corner. read more

Great pizza! Fresh ingredients, friendly service, and they're not afraid of garlic. The marguerita is consistently excellent, as is the buffalo chicken. And it's great value, too. My only - very mild - regret is that they don't have goat's cheese or green olives amongst the pizza topping options. LOVE PAUL AND EDDY'S PIZZA Always consistently great pizza and a variety of toppings that you can add. The Salads are also consistenly good and always fresh. What I love most are the wraps and Subs the meatball sub is very good, but what I love most are the buffalo chicken subs these are consistenly amazing and a good default when I have no where else to go. I love this place its always clean and the people are always nice. It's your typical local pizza place and its great. I stop here whenever I drive upstate. This place is everything I want out of a pizza place. The interior is quaint but the NY style pizza is consistently delicious. I have yet to find a Fra Diavolo pizza that can match theirs. I also like their buffalo chicken wrap and their salads. The staff is friendly and the clientele are locals/regulars.
