My family and I have been coming to this location for many years. We stopped coming a few years back due to the way we were treated by the manager (Ava Maria Torres) at the time. We waited over an hour for our food and when asked how our order was coming along, instead of giving us a courteous answer we were told they're busy. From then on I would still continue to give them our business but only through the drive thru or phone order pick up. Fast forward to today, I called my order in for pick up, the employee could not have been any more rude than she was. Or so I thought until I went in to pick up my order. As I placed my order on the phone, Ava Maria Torres ( still there as manager) didn't ask if my order was completed so as I continued on I told her I wasn't finished ordering. Her response was " then just continue talking!" I asked for her name, she responded with what's yours? Twice!! When I arrived I asked to speak to her, told her I didn't appreciate the way she spoke to me. She denied the remark about telling me to continue talking. I went on to let her know we have been coming here for years and this wasn't the first time being treated rudely by her. I asked for someone above her that I could speak to she said it would be Paul! And if we have been coming here for years then I should have his number. I couldn't believe the way she went on without any apology. What I thought was a very tell tale sign is as I was addressing her behavior the cooks stopped what they were doing and were very interested and listening to what was being said. I hope to be able to contact corporate, which I will. I feel corporate should know the representation they are holding by continuing to allow Ava Maria Torres to treat good paying loyal customers. I am very saddened and disappointed in the way I was treated without any accountability from her and will never return. read more

I've always came here since I was a kid. Either for the breakfast burrito or the chili cheese fries. Most the time they're pretty decent. But this time I don't know what was going on but the fries tasted old & stale. No crunch on the outside but soft center. Garbage fries.. this happens a little too often with the chili cheese fries. Truthfully might have to just go back to Varsity Burger. They have the same order but cheaper and a larger quantity. Plus the quality is there as well. Something Paul's has lacked for a while now. Besides the food; the customer service is about a D-, the employees aren't welcoming, don't speak up, and take forever to help you in the first place. The inside is usually dirty too. I'm so disappointed, we've been customers with Paul's for over 25 years and always supported them, even through covid. We came in and ordered and we noticed later that day they had over charged our card double than our total. We came in and explained what happened. Eva was so rude with us and implied that we were trying "jip". I can't believe we were treated like that after they overcharged us $75. We get it, mistakes happen and that's not the problem. We live right down the street so we've gotten dinner here a couple times through the drive thru. Our favorite item to get here so far is the fried zucchini with ranch. The last time we were here I got the fried mushrooms and pastrami sandwich. The fried mushrooms were super crispy and juicy on the inside, also really good with a side of ranch. I liked that they topped them with parmesan cheese also. My pastrami sandwich was pretty good, not as good as the Hat, but pretty close. The bread was super soft and they are generous with the amount of pastrami. My boyfriend got a bacon burger here and really enjoyed it. I gave you one star just because you can't do anything less. I normally come here for lunch and I have never had such a bad experience. Gustavo needs additional training definetly around his customer service . When I placed the order I asked to cut it in half please. When he handed me the order I asked if they cut it in half he said "No I will give you a knife we are to busy" I responded and told him it doesn't take that's long to cut the burger in half. It's your typical walk up and order and be called by name when your food is ready. We ordered the veggie omelet and French toast. HORRIBLE SERVICE BY; a manager named Eva at the Anaheim location on Magnolia Ave and La Palma st. She was extremely rude and yelling at me in from of other costumers and employees. I didn't know she was the manager since she took my order so I asked for a manager and she replied to me very rude I'm the manager so whatever you have to say, say now. I said if you're the manager I'd like to talk to someone higher than you and she said I'm the only one so whatever your complain is you come to me. I said well in that case I'll write a review on Yelp and she's goes; do whatever you want and don't forget to put my name also put you don't know how to order a combo and you want a free drink. I said this is the 4th time that I come here this past week and I always order the same thing, I never ask how much is it, I just give my card so they can charge me. I said; I never asked for anything free. I told the other lady to charge me a drink, I hacer her back my card so she can charge me and you came really rude to me saying that I never order a drink and that I can not be charge only for one drink. I don't understand why I can not pay for a drink. How I'm I suppose to eat my burger without a drink and she told me that your problem for not ordering a combo with a drink. I said; you never asked me if I wanted a combo I just gave you my card. She reply's well that your problem for not knowing how to order and combo and for been on your phone while you order. Paul's place is always a staple if you want amazing burgers and fries. Every time I come here I cannot resist, but order the colossal burger as the picture I have included. Which is a burger with pastrami, which is the best of both worlds! Along with fried zucchini. The fried zucchini, here is amazing! I have never had any better fried zucchini. it is both large firm and cooked through. Far too often the fried zucchini is cooked too much and it's mushy, but they make it perfect over here! I have tried several of the other items, such as the patty melt, and the biscuits and gravy. I think that their burgers are much better than some of the other items, but everything has always been good. The ambience is that of a classic burger joint with the fountain, drink plenty of seating and plenty outdoor seating. The service here has always been good, although today, I think I got somebody who is training. But they were still very kind and very accommodating. I've been to several other locations, and everybody has always been very good. Great big long chunks of juicy mouth-watering zucchini lightly breaded and NOT greasy!! It's so good I have to restrain myself from eating them too quickly after I buy them or I burn my mouth. And the price is so low compared to how many huge chunky long slices you get, there must be 4 whole zucchini squash cut into a few long slices for about $5. It's always fresh and it's always made exactly how we order it. With so many options on their menu, you are bound to find something that catches your eye. I've been to Anaheim and Orange locations for years. I really like their food but the experience today was atrocious. My receipt had a time stamp of 6:39 pm and we got our food at 7:09 pm. It took 30 minutes for a cheeseburger, kids meal, and a breakfast burrito. The family sitting across from me were also annoyed and inquired about their order multiple times. Note: there were a lot of empty seats so it wasn't lunch rush. There was an older lady who someone referred to as "Jefa," and she had a horrendous attitude. Usually a go-to in getting a quick bite to eat, this Paul's Place sits right in the middle of a generally busy intersection, which is convenient considering it's one of the few drive through places in that specific area. Their food always comes out piping hot and the portions are quite large. The definitive item, in my opinion, is the Fried Mushrooms - they're quite the snack! Their other items are also really good; I like the Feta Fries and used to get the BLT all the time before I stopped eating meat. Disgusting!!!!! Do not buy breakfast burritos from here. They had hard boiled egg pieces in it like I was literally munching on egg shells. There are some standouts... breakfast sausage, breakfast tacos, gyros, etc... and while there's nothing bad on the menu, some things are just okay... omelets, not very fluffy, average burgers, etc. I'd say overall, the menu is 3 stars, but the service is 5 stars, and the dining experience is 4 stars, so overall, I give Paul's a solid 4 stars.
