My friend & I were underwhelmed by the entire experience. By the pictures and reviews we were expecting a nice ambiance, great food & drinks. The drinks were disappointing. The food was ok. The chips were very stale and hard to enjoy even when we asked for a replacement. I assume it was a slow day so they didn't make a new batch. THANK GOD there is finally a--not just decent--but GREAT taco place in the area. Boston and the Boston suburbs have so few really good Mexican places, and this is definitely one of them. The tacos are superb and the chips and guac are also delish. While I don't know if the popcorn chicken is really Mexican, it's definitely yummy and GF for those who require/prefer that. The papas bravas were good, but probably my least favorite thing that I've tried (however, I'm comparing them to patatas bravas in Spain). Now they just need to get on DoorDash. read more

Warning...Don't go! Check your bill...they have a "hidden charge" called "kitchen administration fee"...When we asked, they told us it was a tip for the kitchen. From the beginning our experience was terrible. We had reservations and asked to be seated by one of the booths. The owner, Jack told us they were all reserved. We were going to be meeting with family that had a three month old baby and sitting in the middle of the restaurant was far from ideal. Needless to say, many of the booths remained empty. They charge for chips and salsa. Not worth it, the salsa tasted like tomato sauce, no flavor. Overall the food was tasteless. Save yourself some aggravation and go to Cielo or El Serape. No "kitchen fee" and salsa/chips are free. read more

Disgusting dirty place! Waiters eat behind the wall. Found a thick hair in my taco. The give you a little plate and the prices are for large plates. Soggy tacos! I was recommended this place and I was super excited to come. Although the service was good and the place is pretty cute anyone who truly knows latin food would be disappointed! I'm not from this region but I'm learning that people from this city don't know much about flavor unless it's food from the Italian spots and a few places like lolitas. My drink was poorly crafted and it was a simple margarita. My mother taught me young that if the Salsa at a restaurant isn't perfected ( the most basic element of latin food) then don't waste your time ordering and it has proven true every single time. The salsa and guac seemed to come from a can and there was something pickled in it that just didn't belong. We sampled plenty of dishes and the only decent one was the raw oyster which didn't take much. I hate to sound mean but I would find it hard to trust the judgment of anyone saying they liked this food I literally wouldn't let them take me anywhere else to be quite honest. read more

Margarita: fresh and consistent- none of that gross artificial mix. Tuna tartare: fresh and seasoned perfect. Shishito peppers- just yum! Tried just about every taco (minus veggie) and each was distinct and delicious. Last and certainly not least.... tried both the carne de res y queso and platano maduro pastelillos- AMAZING! The shell/ batter - whatever it is- SO fresh, light and tasty and the filling was incredible. Can't wait to go back. You need to go here! The Chicharonnes dish was absolutely delicious and so unique--my fav dish. Everything I had there was delicious--slightly different Latin style cuisine but very delicious. Nachos and the shrimp tacos are also my fav. Decor is very cool. Staff were very nice and accommodating. We lucked out and got to meet Palmer who was very pleasant. This place was a bit of a trek for me since I live on the north shore but it was SO worth it. Our waitress, Lindsey was sweet, friendly, and welcoming. We tried a bit of everything and I have zero complaints. My favorite was the Maduro Pastellitos which were an interesting balance of savory and sweet wrapped in a light and crispy fried dough. We also had the nachos, the street corn, vegan taco, shrimp taco, carnitas taco, and chicharrón. Everything (and I mean everything) was great. My one issue with this place is that they don't have Don Julio which feels super strange to me as a Mexican restaurant but Lindsey came to the rescue with an alternate that was just as pleasant. As we sat down for dinner, the new broke that RBG had passed, so to be at a Mexican restaurant with such a warm environment among friends with good tequila gave some solace. Tacos, Octopus, Chicharron - all excellent, tasty, and would order, again! Beautiful presentation & accompaniments. The chicken taco & the carnitas taco have depth of flavor. Shrimp taco was light & "citrusy". Used the dipping sauce with the popcorn chicken to enhance the taste. Overall, a variety of flavors that is hard to beat in Quincy Center! We were in Wednesday for dinner for the first time and really enjoyed ourselves! We made a reservation through their website and it went easy peasy. We were sat right away. The vibe is great there, although a bit too dark once the "mood" lighting was set in the evening. The food was AMAZING and the drinks were well crafted. Slight hiccups with service but I think that's standard for any new restaurant. We had wrong food delivered to us twice. And we had a couple different servers which was confusing to know who to ask for if you needed anything. But we're SO happy to have this dining option close to home and will for sure be returning! read more

This place was overpriced uninspired with horrible service. Pearl & lime is another cash grab situated in the up & coming quincy center. If you want real food and drink go to Fuji the only place in Quincy center with any sense of dignity and customer satisfaction. First time coming to Pearl and Lime. The vegan, fish and chicken tacos were goor. The tacos came out before our appetizer but no big deal. My one issue was with the hostess. I came with one other person. We requested to sit at a booth but the hostess told us when couldn't because it was busy and it was only two of us. At the time, two booths were open, two outdoor tables, three indoor tables and open seats at the bar. She sat us at a smaller table. Not even five minutes later, two other patrons came in and requested to sit at a booth, she immediately sat them there. Shortly after that, she sat two more patrons at the second booth. Of course, we were a little upset because we were told no but she sat others there right after. There was one visible difference between us and them; my hope is this is not the reason we couldn't get the seats we requested. We have been wanting to try this place for months. We were looking for a fun place to dine during Halloween, and this place did not disappoint. The ambience is very festive and the service is excellent. We're vegan, so we tried all the vegan items on the menu including the vegan tacos, the pastelillo (a Puerto Rican empanada, reminded me of home) the pumpkin mole, the cauliflower, and the potatoes.
