I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk. Since it was mid-afternoon, not many people in the cafe. Love the policy that there is no surcharge for alternative milk!!! My drink came out quickly. Bright interior with natural sunlight since they have glass walls. Upbeat music. Polite service by the cashier & prompt service by the barista! Very cool: the cashier is bilingual and he assisted a Hispanic couple order in Spanish! Nice! Now if cafés would only limit the time of laptop users. Sorry but they take up seats for too long. Staff is so friendly! I chatted with the cashier with the beautiful hot pink hair and they recommended a twist on my coffee that I LOVED. It's in a convenient location close to the Steel Bay Park (I believe it's called?) that has pieces of steel from the old bay bridge. Recommend walking around with a Peet's! read more

A great coffee shop right near the entrance of the Brannan street apartment building. Been here a few times usually getting a mocha, latte or regular coffee and they always taste great (not burnt, not over steamed etc) and wake me up. When ordering the cashiers/baristas have always been friendly or welcoming. As for the space, it's about a medium-sized Peet's with a good amount of seating. They keep the space clean and inviting. I haven't used the wifi, but I see people on their laptops all the time, so it's probably a good spot to get work done or chill with your laptop. So a pretty good Peet's coffee shop. read more

Work gave me a gift card so I wanted to check it out Saturday morning after my pilates class in Soma. The baristas were super nice and drink came out quickly. First time trying the Havana Cappuccino it was lovely.maybe next time I will ask for it to be extra hot but other than that everything was spot on. They never can get my drink right. I ask for no foam, I get extra foam. The last drink I got was a third foam. Nobody reads the orders there. The employees seem to be unhappy and just going through the motions. Waste of money in my opinion. read more

Very poor Customer Service been going to Peets for over 15 years once in a while I would get a refill last week. They time to buy my own coffee, espresso machine and make it for my staff and coworkers. I will save $600 a year thank you canceled all refill coffee orders. read more

New favorite Coffee Shop! This is the perfect location if you are looking for a fresh cup of coffee or matcha latte. It's very clean, free wifi and a perfect spot to get work done. Also, the staff goes beyond for their customers. I have been becoming here for a few weeks now and have noticed their fast work and acts of kindness. Jada, was patient and went through the entire menu with me. She never once became impatient with my questions. Anah, you can always catch her smiling and never rushes you. Kevin, always goes out of his way to speak and ask if I need anything. He ensures I feel at home.. whether it's a crowded day or if I'm the last one. Just got a coffee from another coffee place at the airport and I now feel prompted to write this review. The airport coffee barista was almost hostile. In contrast, when I went to Peet's on 8th for the first time recently, the barista, Isaiah was so welcoming and genuine. Thanks Peet's and thanks Isaiah. A bright and modern Peet's with super friendly employees. This location features floor to ceiling windows on both 8th and Brennan St that immerse you into the cityscape. The two large tables in the middle are great for larger groups or for working. Smaller tables and comfy furniture surrounds the shop, including on the sidewalk, if you prefer to be outdoors. The employees are super friendly here too! Today, I wanted to order a large black iced tea, but they were out. The barista made some hot tea and chilled it with ice cubes for me--very helpful of her. There's really no need to talk bad about a customers order when they are right there. The drink was not a complicated one there was only a request of an add shot yet the employees continued to talk loudly about how extra caffeine is ridiculous. I don't think three shots is unheard of and this makes me seriously rethink coming to Peet's if they allow employees to talk badly in front of customers. read more

Why do people gain employment in customer service if they don't like dealing with people?????? The lady at the register & the guy who made my drink was nice and polite. But the Asian lady with pony tails is rude and disrespectful!!!! She called my name and sat my cold pastry on the counter. When I felt the bag was cold, I said excuse me but are u able to warm this up for me? She snatched the bag out of my hand without saying a word and proceeded to put my pastry in the oven. The proper thing to do is say is yes ma'am I apologize let me warm that up for you..... Here's a piece of advice young lady, if you needed a mental health day you should've called out SICK!!!! My family and I walked into this place feeling very cheerful, but walked out empty handed, disappointed, and discriminated against.  We didn't purchase any food or drinks. We decided to leave the place without making a huge scene (confrontation) especially not in front of our children instead. We regret not taking a picture or video of the "rude and possibly racist" employees at this location for everyone to see. Because what I'm about to write is hard to believe. We couldn't believe it either. Anyway, when we got in the car I said, do you think we were being filmed for the tv show, What Would You Do? Because that was really weird - not a normal behavior. Our horrible experience... We walked inside with happy faces and saw three employees behind the counter.  No one was in line.  When we approached the counter the three employees did not look at us, didn't greet us, or said how can we can help you guys? NOTHING! Instead, the two employees (young women) were busy talking to each other - like they haven't seen each other in years.  Now here's the shocker! The third employee (an Asian man late 20s early 30s) was standing next to the cash register.  And literally 2-3 feet away from us.  You would think he would say good morning, hello, or how can I help you guys? NOT A WORD!! And no eye contact. What was he doing? He was looking at the croissants in the box. This went on for more than 5 minutes - with him staring at the croissants.  I'm not making this up guys, that's what he was doing. We didn't say a word. We just kept staring at him to see if he would react. NOTHING!! He purposely continued to ignore us. And I'm thinking this guy is probably on drugs or waiting for his "useless" coworkers (like himself) to help us instead. Now, here's when it becomes more bizarre. When we left the line quietly, the three employees greeted and assisted the customers behind us with happy faces. At that point, we truly felt "discriminated" against. Peet's employees showed us that they don't need to say a word or take the time to look at us. All they need to do is make us feel it. And that they did.               Now I'm a true believer. Nice people finish last and racist people exist in every color. read more

I ordered my drink through its mobile app to get a head start and when I arrived, it didn't look like it was ready so I waited and waited only to find out 10 minutes later that l my drink has been sitting on the wrong side of the counter instead of the mobile pick-up area where it should've been. I asked for dry cappuccino and I got a latte with extra foam on top. I asked them very nicely to remake it for me. The barista very aggressively dumped foam in the coffee and slammed it on the counter and pushed it towards me and turned around. Not very nice and very passive aggressive. I am so tired of the attitude of the employees at this location,8th street . The one next to Safeway on 16th is so much better . I order a simple 2 ice coffees with 2 Splenda and they act as if I have requested something difficult . They will normally rudely say we don't have Splenda behind the counter, so I will grab some and will still not put it into my 2 drinks before putting the lids on . The best coffee but truly Starbucks puts you guys to shame on service . I mean for almost $5 for ice coffee and putting the Splenda in is a challenge . read more

This is a review for the Peet's on Brannan ST. First, my husband and I are thankful their employees are willing to come in and make coffee since it's a luxury not essential. We always make sure to leave a tip. The employees are always friendly. Most of all I have gone to 3 different Peet's in the area that have begun to reopen and this one consistently makes their coffee drinks correctly. Thankfully they understand how to make a traditional Cold Brew Fog and for that I am grateful. lol read more
