I stopped here after church and just to mention this location is one of my favorites. The location is near a whole foods and play ground so you would see families with their children and dogs come here often. Today I ordered the yuzu lemon tea which was so refreshing and has become a go to order. I also got the jalapeno cheese bagel which was scrumptious! The bagel was so soft and bready and was given a generous amount of cream cheese. I ordered the new caramel coconut drink for my mom to go and she adored it. Stopped by for a quick coffee fix while I was in the area and wanted to try Philz as I had not tried it before. I'm not a huge coffee person, but I wanted some caffeine in me after a long morning. As you probably know, the drink options here are pretty unusual compared to other coffee shops. I had no clue what to order, but luckily it wasn't busy in the store (which was spacious and nicely decorated). Shoutout to Sarah who was working when I went in. Sarah was super cool and walked me through some recommendations since I was taking forever to decide. I didn't feel rushed at all, and I had all my questions answered about different drinks, flavors, customizations, etc. I ultimately got the recommended Philtered Soul Train (I think that's what it was called). I really liked the hazelnut flavor, and I was able to add some sweetness since I like my coffee sweet. Overall, it was a pleasant experience stopping by this Philz. I've been to many different Philz during the years but this particular location was by far the best. It's not about the coffee here because all Philz serves some really good coffee. This place stands out because of its customer service. Lamar was especially accommodating with my large order that seem to change in an instant but he was super friendly especially during a holiday where many people would rather be chilling at home. I honestly don't like mint too much, but Philz's mint mojito iced coffee always tastes so good. Getting this drink here reminded me of how much I enjoy it! It's my favorite because it actually tastes similar to an actual mojito and there's fresh mint inside, which is a nice touch. My boyfriend got the Philtered Soul, which was okay, but missed the mark for us since it was a bit too watery. He's gotten the drink before though and enjoyed it, so it may have just been a lack of consistency this time. Love philz coffee!!!!! Ordered the rosé and philtered soul the house way (sweet and creamy). For size comparison the rosé is a large and the philtered soul is a medium. Service was fast and staff are always welcoming and patient. This location is very clean and cute. Has a few seats inside and outside. Last Wednesday, December 4th, started like any other day. I was already running late for work and needed a quick cup of coffee. From the moment I entered Philz, around 2 pm, I felt immediately comforted and at home, like I had been employed there in a past life. I made my way to the counter, doing my best to absorb the positivity radiating from the walls. I was greeted by perhaps the friendliest barista I've ever encountered! She took my order with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. When my drink was ready, barely 2 minutes after I ordered, I was stunned by the aroma before I could even take a sip. Love this Philz location in Potrero Hill! It can be really hard to drive to other Philz locations in the city and actually sit down but this area isn't too busy. I was able to park right outside, get some work done, and get myself a silken splendor while I was at it! The staff is super friendly like you would expect any other Philz location. Went in this Morning to get some coffee and first and foremost I want to say the Ambiance of the place is very well pleasing and very nice. But the service not to well the moment I walked in I got the impression I was getting judged and looked at very differently than other inside of the store including employees and police officers who has headquarters across the street and obviously regulars to the place. My attire was dressed differently from others in which I should not be judged based off of my attire we should do a better job at that. They charge the same price for tea as for coffee. I paid $5 and change for a cup of hot water with mint leaves. Those leaves probably cost about ten percent of the cost of a cup's worth of coffee beans. Restaurants with table service don't charge this much to serve a cup of tea in a pot and a ceramic cup that they have to wash. Philz tea is a rip off. And then there is the odd practice of them putting the honey in for you rather than letting the consumer control the amount that is added. read more

I came all the way to San Francisco to try this coffee! (Okay, not exactly, I could have tried it in DC but hadn't had the opportunity yet) After trying the Mint Mojito, I understand what my Philz Coffee devotee friends were talking about. I opted for creamy but not sweet and received an iced coffee with some foam. It was creamy, had ice cubes and a sprig of mint leaves. So pretty and delicious I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners or flavors and so I was a big fan of this drink! It was lightly minty and very creamy. And even though it was a little chilly outside, the Mint Mojito was not too cold of a drink to enjoy while walking around the city. I guess I'll have to venture to the Philz closer to my house so I can try more of their delicious coffee drinks! read more

But the best part about this store that it had this beautiful, nice open seating area which it shared with other stores where you'd find trees, plants and a water fountain so people could sit there and enjoy San Francisco's fresh air. My experience at the civic center is way better as the staff there really prioritizes getting your drink exactly how you want it and it's a super welcoming vibe. There is also not enough seating or enough outlets. It's a clean space and still good coffee, but the overall ambiance is off and not as friendly as other locations in the city. read more

This is probably the 4th or 5th location i've been to over the years. Philz has been my go-to coffee shop any time i come up to SF (thanks to my cousin for getting our entire family hooked on this place) This was conveniently located like 1-2 miles away from my lunch place (Dumpling Time) so we had come here for a quick pick-up drink for the day. Decently sized location off of 17th and De Haro, there was 3 people working on drinks at the time when i came (early afternoon on a Saturday). One of my favorites to get is Tesora which has caramel, nutty flavor. Great hot or cold. As it was quite a warm day, i opt'ed for the Iced Tesora Mocha which added a great dark chocolate flavor as well. Coincidentally, 2 other friends got the same exact thing but in a smaller size. Option wise, i opt'ed for my usual "sweet and creamy". Even though i say sweet, its not that sweet, especially compared to like boba/milk tea places. Drinks were made quickly and we were on our way.
