I SB team member took my order and proceeded to make my coffee. She wasn't particularly friendly, but was efficient. In that instance, that was all I was looking for. It was 8:15pm when I walked in. No line. I ordered a tall latte. There were two people working. A guy with big head and glasses was making drinks and a barista was doing with cashier duties and making drinks when the orders started piling up. My latte took 15 minutes and was lukewarm and flavorless. The guy with glasses was very slow and sometimes seemed to forget how to make certain drinks and had to pause and think. The girl just looked tired. Maybe better training or selecting better staff next time. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to make a plain latte when you have no line. read more

Good coffee and other caffeinated beverages and a nice place to sit, relax and/or get some work or studying done. Spacious interior with high ceilings, and thick wooden tables and chairs scattered within and along the big picture windows. The music isn't too loud and your brain tunes it out eventually anyway. Lots of power outlets under each table along the east facing windows and another 4-outlet junction box countersunk on the floor under the long counter in the middle. Service is courteous and friendly and I didn't have to wait long. This is a nice Starbucks to burn off a couple of hours to get some work done or just sip a beverage while the world rolls on by outside. read more

Corporate, get your priorities straight. My order is pretty simple. A shaken iced espresso with an extra shot of espresso. What I keep getting is an iced espresso with milk poured on top, completely separate, forcing me to swirl it in a cup that comes with holes in the lid. Messes have been made. Baristas are given better tools to shake a drink than a customer is. It's in the drink's name, so please help me understand why this branch doesn't shake their shaken espressos. I would prefer to have my drink shaken than a handwritten note on the cup. read more

When I received my coffee, not only was the cap wet but so was the cup and bottom of it. As a barista, cleanliness should be a priority. If her manager was the guy taking orders tonight, he should have obviously stepped in and advised her of the situation. The male barista wasn't friendly. I told him to have a nice day but I received no acknowledgement. At the 19th Avenue store and at the Geary Blvd. store, the team are courteous and friendly. The tumblers are locked behind plastic cases. This is odd as this isn't Walgreens where there's smash and grab thefts at most of the stores. Unsettling. This should be one of the best & brightest Starbucks in the city, especially given its fantastic corner location, its massive size (compared to other Starbucks) and its very cool architecture and interior design. But when you walk in here instead of having a bright & welcoming atmosphere you get hit with one that is dank & depressing. It feels sort of dirty, the floors certainly give that impression, the bathrooms certainly give that impression, and I get the sense from the employees, as nice as they are, that morale is low. So, the employees are not at fault in the least. Whomever is managing this store, locally or area-wise, or whomever is overseeing things from corporate, needs to give this location another hard look at it and breathe some new life into it. Make it better not only for the customers but for the employees who are doing the best they can. Yah, I know, first-world problems. Seating is available inside and outside. Free Wi-Fi and the signal is very clear. There was a line with 3-4 patrons when I walked in, but it moved quick. Lines aren't super long which is also another good thing. Overall, positive first experience here. *Holiday themed beverages and cups are back by popular demands. Just in time for the start of and to brighten up the holiday season. Starbucks Coffee gets major bonus points for being one of the coffee shops integrating holiday themed beverages. This is the fourth time I've been to this Starbucks because it's close to my work. This is the least consistent Starbucks I've ever been to: only one drink tasted like what I ordered--the rest tasted like old coffee or burnt espresso, and one oat milk latte tasted suspiciously of dairy. Not to mention the baristas act like you're bothering them and are very sassy when you place an order or ask for a straw even when the place is empty. Very popular Starbucks located more in the central part of the Mission District, so it's primarily bordered by residential buildings, some office buildings, etc. Very quiet and clean in this area. This location has a large interior, with plentiful seating, including two large tables (one in the back near the bathrooms, and one up front). They are also pretty quick about mobile orders, though again, it depends on how busy they are. Bathrooms require a code, so ask a barista if you need to use it. Free Wifi was pretty stable, so this could be a good spot to get some work done. Overall, there's a lot foot traffic that comes through here, but not that many people stick around in the store for too (or if they do, they're doing work alone), so it was pretty quiet. I think Starbucks should give more lessons/pointers to their staff on customer service. The cashier seemed like she didn't have that much experience and the barista was flat out rude. The barista looked flustered like she was doing everything. My boyfriend and I asked for one of the seasonal drinks with a little twist (extra sprinkles) and the barista seemed annoyed with our request. The drink was made in a timely matter, but the extra sprinkles were missed on my boyfriend drink. So he kindly waited for the barista to return after she left the barista area but she ignored him he tried to make eye contact and he still dismissed him. Adding sprinkles (a barista job) Seemed like a chore! She then told him, "Next time you can ask the girl at the register to help you, you seen I left and I was doing stuff in the back." In which my boyfriend was taken back. Being a gentlemen that he is, he stayed quiet and left. We won't be returning to this particular Starbucks. If you make a customer feel like they don't want to come back that gives you 1 star. read more

If there was ever a Starbucks with personality, it would be this Mission location. There's a bunch of great breakaway areas to work inside and out (it's a great place to bring your dog on a sunny day) and the menu boards are handwritten. People get together in groups here all the time and the lack of hipster 'tude makes it the perfect spot to GTD. I ordered a cafe vanilla Frappuccino but forgot to get it decaf, the result being that I'd now be buzzing away for the rest of the night. It was delicious of course, but it did chill me out just as the rest of the cafe tends to do due to over air-conditioning. I definitely dig this spot because of the great personality of the joint and the dog-friendliness of the area. It can get a bit windy sometimes though, but the abundance of free parking makes it an attractive spot to squat. Definitely worth checking out! They'll never respond to you if you say Thankyou or have a nice day and god forbid you have a "special" request like asking for an extra pump that you're willing to pay for. The staff are terrific. But why did corporate eliminate the unique comforts that made this location authentic? Either: 1. To stop the regulars from hanging out and open their seats. 2. Maybe the they wanted to discomfort some homeless guests to move them out. 3. To move all of us out faster and increase $/foot. 4. To be "brand consistent" with every generic Starbucks. Or 5. Because they're idiots. Same as #4. I'm guessing it's #2 even though I haven't noticed a problem with this. If it's 1 or 3 it's an insult to all. The evening crew needs to never come back. Starbucks just hires anybody nowadays. Some people don't need to be in customer service. Usually it's just one person, but the whole evening staff needs coffee themselves. I ordered a salted cream cold brew through mobile order. You can say that a cup full of dirt and water would be the same thing. And when I politely asked if there was any salted cream in my cup, the barista responded with so much attitude that I almost rolled my eyes so hard that I was looking at my own brain. The other worker who was changing the trash just kept on ranting about hating making frappuccinos really loud. Announce it to the whole store already. You knew, before taking the job, that frappuccinos are THAT drink. I also was observing how the cashier interacted with customers. Cashier: "What do you want?" with the same crappy attitude as Ms. Mobile Order Sunshine. Get a new job. It's obvious y'all would rather sit in the corner and stare at a wall. I'm so happy there's also a local Starbucks my new job. I love Blue Bottle and Coffee Bar, but sometimes a girl also wants to go somewhere with a rewards program! There's still a small rush of people during peak morning hours (around 9-10AM), but I never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my order. This was a positive change from my main Starbucks when I was working in downtown SF. The baristas here are very friendly and accommodating -- once I ordered a cold brew and they ran out, so the barista offered to put a free shot of espresso into a regular iced coffee. Great customer service! The big plus of this specific location is the entire building -- there are so many plush chairs, bars, stools/chairs, and outlets. It's a prime location for workers and students to get work done for awhile. Sometimes I come and sit here during breaks from work. The only improvement I would suggest is that they monitor the restroom better. I have seen the toilet clogged more than once and some homeless people use the sinks to wash off. Just be aware when you use the restroom! I see myself being a frequent visitor here to maintain my Gold Status with SBUX :) read more

This place get's 4 stars for being THE coolest Starbucks I've ever seen. I've been to the original store in Seattle and I've even worked at Starbucks back in the day so let's just say... I've gotten around the 'Bux block. This store is so open and the perfect place for kicking back to read a book, working on some design or spreadsheets on your laptop, or just grabbing a coffee and people watching. The space is definitely unique to the Mission area and I believe it's so different so that it can compete with the likes of Coffee Bar down the street. This is my neighborhood Starbucks and they always provide excellent service here. The baristas are always so nice and they always try to put a smile on all customers face. The atmosphere and location is pretty awesome too. There's plenty of tables for you to sit and enjoy your coffee. There's individual seats/couches as well! The quality of coffee made here compared to other Starbucks by far is much better and consistent. Most places the quality of their drinks very from time to time however this place is always consistent. One of the better Starbucks in the city so check them out. read more
