I really like Peet's coffee. I prefer them over Starbucks because they care less about the expensive ice cream shakes and care more about serving a good cup of coffee. This location is pretty ideal and very close to my house. When I walk my dogs, they have a dog bowl set outside. The staff is excellent and very friendly. Their pastries are really good and always fresh. Only down side is the lack of wireless access. read more

ahhhh. you know how i feel about peet's right? i love it. it reminds me of going to the one at walnut & vine in berkeley with my dad when i was little...getting hot chocolate and a madeline which they used to keep in a big glass container. sigh. major dickisons and garuda blend will always make me think of my dad. soooo, when i moved to the area, i had to find the closest peets, natch. (despite that there is a sbux within walking distance of my new apt...but who actually buys beans from them?!) i like this location. parking is easy, they have a front and a back door, clean bathrooms, lots of seating...and they don't mind when i settle in with my laptop to study for a couple hours. decent music. competant, friendly, but not annoying employees. thanks peet, whoever you are. i heart you. read more

This is a nice Peets in the Rose Garden area of San Jose. Serves the neighborhood very well. The coffee is pretty good as you would expect, and there's plenty of room to walk around the store. Plenty of opportunities to try to pickup on people with laptops, if your into that sort of thing. read more

Now, now children . . . there's no need to tell Starbucks to "suck it." This is very simply a Coke-Pepsi thing; it's a preference. The staff here is very nice and stays clam, even when traffic ramps up and things could get crazy, but they don't. Better, they can get complicated order right, and as anyone who had had to suffer through a skim latte when they specifically asked for whole milk knows, that counts for a lot. I drive out of my way in the morning on the way to work to get a cup of Peet's here at the Rosegarden location. The people who work here are so nice and friendly and they make a good cup of coffee. The great thing about peet's is that their coffee changes every day. I like strong coffee so Ethiopian Fancy is my favorite, but I'd avoid Gardua. Almost everyone can make a good latte too. read more

I made the mistake of coming to this Pete's coffee and tea thinking that it was Philz coffee. I'm new to the bay area so I forgot the name of the recommended coffee shop. I was about to order the mint coffee as suggested but I didn't see it on the menu so I ordered some kind of chocolate tuxedo coffee drink with condensed milk. It was actually pretty good! The condensed milk was a nice touch. The service was friendly, the barista knew it was my first time there and made suggestions. I would come back again if I were in the area and really needed coffee. I like to switch between the higher end coffee shops that are third wave coffee and these types of establishments, just to switch things up. read more

Every time I go in here I'm greeted with helpful friendly people. One particular order was especially large and all I had to do was hand the person working at the register the written list. Came here for my first Peet's experience with a friend for an early morning coffee and scone. I was sorely disappointed with their attempt at a white chocolate mocha (I guess no one can really top Starbucks) and was super impressed by their scones. There's lots of seating inside and a few spots outside. Employees were nice and the store was clean. Probably won't be returning for coffee but their scones are definitely worth coming back for! read more

I just moved to this area and have been coming to this Peet's often. The store is always clean and welcoming. It's seems to be a regular hang out for many people in the neighborhood. The people that work here are always very nice and accommodating. My friend wanted a "flat white" (similar to the drink they have at Starbucks), and the man at the register took the time to Google the drink ingredients to make it for her when he could have just said "No, we don't make those." I love coffee but by no means am I a coffee connoisseur. My usual preference is usual wherever is convenient to grab a cup of joe before class or work. With that said, the majority of the time I end up at Starbucks because there is about one every other block. One of my bff's brought me a mocha from Peet's one day to class and I have been hooked since. Lucky for me this location is on the way to my work. Whenever I stop by the staff have always been awesome. It is always great to start off your day with a delicious cup of coffee made by friendly people. The parking lot is on the smaller side but I have never had issues with parking. There are a couple restaurants within walking distance (Pasta Pomodoro, Rosie's New York Pizza...), and there is also a farmer's market on Saturdays between The Alameda and Hanchett. read more

I admit, I find the coffee at Peet's to be too bitter for my tastes. However, this Peet's has some of the nicest staff! They are super friendly, very speedy, and never mess up my order. The calm, quiet atmosphere in here is no doubt partly a result. It always feels very safe and casual. For the price of a cup of tea I can sit here and study for several hours, and it's a nice change of scenery from the somewhat more noisy Starbucks across the street. read more

I go here every morning for my medium Carmel macchiato and the occasional breakfast pastry. They are so courteous here and the environment is welcoming. The workers will always ask what kind of milk I would like or if it's ok to use a certain milk. They have a big assortment of pastries from scones to breakfast sandwiches. I enjoy the cheese platter with almonds and apples. It's never soggy or brown. There is plenty of parking and easy in and out of the area. Two bathrooms and plenty of space to pop a squat enjoy your coffee and read the paper. Hands down one of the best peets locations! read more

This location is spacious, has convenient parking, and the staff is oh-so-pleasant. They have a huge selection of beans and they're great about helping out with the grinds. They comped both my drinks because I was buying a huge variety of beans on my last visit, which was awesome. Despite being somewhat busy, I was fearing the worst being in there solo with my two young kids, but service was swift and friendly and I got on my happy way quite quickly. Nice Peet's to visit to de-stress... the place is generally clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. I stopped one of the staff (who seemed to be on his way to carry out another task) and I asked for some extra ice today because the ice in my iced coffee disappeared rather quickly. He quickly apologized and said the last batch was still a little warm because it was fresh, and stopped in his tracks to go back and get me a cup full of ice. I don't know, it was a simple thing that showed me that they train their staff well. Thanks, Peet's for a relaxing end to an otherwise stressful day. read more
