It took a long time for me to warm up to Peet's. Why? Maybe because with a growing chain coffee shop, the staff in each location and how they interact with the customers and do the various job tasks can make them just average or really outstanding. So, it was not until I began to regularly visit this location did I realize that Peet's can have great, friendly service by genuine, nice people. Waited nearly 22 minutes for 2 drinks. Which is insane, considering how few people come here. Came here to get coffee for my mother on Mother's Day. They weren't even busy when I ordered. There was 1 person ahead of me, and on top of that, people behind me who ordered AFTER me got their orders quickly and left within 3-4 minutes. And no, they didn't have online orders. They ordered at the register like I did. I would have ordered through their app, but for whatever reason, I can't customize drinks the way my mother likes it through their app. Even after I got my drinks, they didn't provide a carrier or those toothpick like things to prevent spillage on hot drinks to take with me to the car and carry out. To make matters worst, they had 3 employees there, all just hanging out. They could have gotten my order quickly if they were doing what their paid to do rather than just goofing around. No reason anyone should have to wait 22 minutes for coffee... Hell, Starbucks doesn't even take that long and they get 100 times more customers and longer lines than Peet's. Extremely slow and poor customer service. Won't be coming here again. read more

I love my Peet's coffee visits which are usually enjoyable, but my latest experience was just OK. The guy at the coffee bar was working fast and trying to get drinks out quickly, the girls at the cash register were not very upbeat, nor did they give me a drink coupon/credit when I ordered beans because my purchase did not equal a 1/2 pound...that was a first because a drink credit is usually customary with a bean purchase! I ended up tossing out 3/4 of my hot almond milk mocha with Coconut Whip because it was too sweet. I usually order a small but I ordered a medium and they must have added extra sweetener to compensate for the size, I did not realize it would be so sweet. As I was driving away I could only barely take a few sips, the sweetness was just too much. Not my favorite Peet's experience ever, but I may reluctantly give them another chance now that Grocery Warehouse is in the same parking lot. read more

Coffee is good, but customer service is stuffy at this location. Customer service means a lot to me and the feeling you get when you walk into this location is bad. I went here on a Saturday morning and surprisingly, it wasn't busy but when I walked up to order my drink, there were two parties standing there. Because the cashier was standing in front of them and just staring, I assumed they still needed to order so I waited behind them. After about ten minutes, their drinks came out and they picked them up at the other counter. I wish the cashier had told them to move over to the pick up counter when she saw that I was waiting to order behind them instead of letting them hang around and waste my time. Other than that, the service was really good. She gave me suggestions, which I really appreciated. I ended up ordering an iced green tea latte. Sadly, it was underfilled and on top of that, she had filled the entire cup with ice. What's with all the weirdo peeps at this place? I liked the outdoor seating. It is nestled away off the street to the side of the coffee house. Unfortunately, the smokers and weirdos like it too. I have been here dozens of times. Lately, there are just weirdos that actually approach me and start asking werido questions. Overall, the coffee and tea is good here. They will print off the internet code for you if you buy something. The inside is small with 2 tables and a computer bar which is super skinny. This place is AOK. This is one of the smaller Peet's locations I've been to. Although the coffee here tastes just as strong and good as any other Peet's, I'm going to deduct a star for the poor service and the lack of space. The person taking my order was literally yawning with her mouth wide open as she asked what I wanted. She was super sluggish and slow, even at 10am! There's an outside back patio area to make up for the lack of indoor space. You can also get free wi-fi but you'll need to request a code from the cashier. They'll print out a code for you, but the wi-fi is still free of charge, woohoo! This Peet's closes earlier than a lot of other locations, I believe they close by 7 or 8pm. This location for Peet's is tucked away in this little plaza where Trader Joe's is. It's the closest location for my husband and I to go to on weekend mornings when we run our errands. The staff here is great! So friendly and courteous. And most importantly, they know how to make their drinks well. I like a very basic non-fat latte, and each time I get it, it's consistently yummy. Also, if you sign up to receive their emails, they always have BOGO deals where you can just show the email on your smart phone and they'll honor it! I love it!! read more

This place is amazing! I started working for UCI about a little over a year ago and I was pretty bummed there wasn't a close coffee place to my job. Then I found Pete's! So at first when I worked the late morning shift coming in at 8 I had more time and could come in and talk to the employees who always greeted me by my first name which was so personable and I loved it. Now that my shift has changed I place mobile order and still that connection is present even when I coMe in real quick to pick up my coffee. Today I felt back and didn't pick up my mobile order beCause I was running late so on my lunch I came by to apologize and they gave me my coffee !!! The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. Went there this morning to get coffee before my class started I ordered ahead so I could get to class on time. I get there and no one greets me I walk up to the pick up area no one checks on me if everything was okay. Then I get to my car and realize they didn't even put lite ice in my drink I can literally hear all of it while I mix my drink. What a horrible experience I had this morning while visiting Peet's Coffee in Tustin. This is the nearest Peet's Coffee to my home and I wanted to get a Javiva Blended Mocha because I was craving it. We get there and stood in a long line. There was a tall female Caucasian cashier with long hair who was helping expedite orders for the other cashier. When it came our turn, I asked for a canele and a small blended javiva mocha and my boyfriend ordered a medium Major Dickinson. She stood there and responded in a LOUD, rude, stuck-up, and condescending tone, "What?! It's a "cah-ney-lay!!" Her facial expression was stoic, not friendly or approachable. Would've been nice if she didn't make me out like an idiot with her approach. This pissed me off. She came off with this arrogance that was so off-putting that I wish her customer service badge is revoked! This lady had the audacity to correct my pronunciation when clearly, I had pronounced it correctly. "Cah-ney-lay" isn't how you pronounce it in French! Canele de Bordeaux is a small French pastry flavored with rum and vanilla with a soft and tender custard center and a dark, thick caramelized crust! Plus, she came off as if she was doing me a favor for correcting me. Girl, please. Apparently, Lindsay M. has made a complaint about this specific person in her review and I feel like we are talking about the same person. Our whole experience this morning left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope management sees this because you lost a frequent customer. read more

While I can appreciate that Starbucks has more locations and decent coffee, I really like stopping here when I want to change things up. Lately I've been getting the Mexican mocha. I'm not sure if it's seasonal or not, but it's one of my favorites. Never had any issues with customer service. Every time I've gone in, the baristas have answered my questions and have been very helpful. If you're looking to try something new, I would definitely suggest checking it out. They get points right out the gate for being one of the only corporate-esque coffee chains to carry almond milk. Bravo. This location is tucked in the corner of the Trader Joe's shopping center and it is relatively small inside, but still there were plenty of people studying, reading, etc. The menu is self explanatory and upon recommendation of the girl working, I ordered a medium sugar-free vanilla iced coffee with almond milk (I guess an iced latte?). It was much more expensive than a similar drink I order at Starbucks (but with soy), but I was happy to be having almond milk instead of the soy. I think the medium was just under $5.00 and I pay $2.45 for an iced coffee with sugar-free vanilla and a "splash" of soy at Starbucks....they don't charge me when it's just a splash, but even if I paid for more soy milk it would still be less than $3.00 so I'm not sure about the screwy pricing at Peet's, but I did enjoy my drink. The coffee seems to have a much better flavor profile and less of the burnt taste than the Starbuck's beans. Friendly and quick service, quiet atmosphere...so I would for sure return here, but I'll have to figure out how not to have a $5.00 iced coffee, because it was definitely not worth a Lincoln. read more

Macha Green Tea Frappe was excellent! Good quiet atmosphere after 5pm. Wifi available, but only two 2-seater tables inside. There is a counter top with a row of about 5-6 high chairs. There's a bigger seating are outside. My only gripe about this location is that there was only 1 girl working... as cashier and barista.. She would take 1 customer's order at a time. Unfortunately it wasn't super busy, but I saw other people waiting in line who didn't have to be waiting for more than 10 mins if there was one other employee working and helping her out. I probably wouldn't frequent this location because it's tucked away in the corner of a very small and inconvenient parking lot. But it was worth a try since I was in the area. read more

That combo is the start of a perfect day for me and countless others lined up to get a hot cup of the good stuff. Great crew and great patrons makes this place our favorite to just hang out on the weekends. I love to grab a cup of coffee, a few snacks at Trader Joe's ( right on the corner) and right before your eyes, an instant European breakfast.... you' cant beat it. first off, I would like to say I go to Peet's by my house in Seal Beach/Rossmoor often and love it there. the customer service is always on point. I thought the service would be universal at any Peet's location, I was WRONG. I walked in and got nothing but stares, attitude, and felt extremely disrespected. one lady had a very sarcastic tone in her voice which I didn't appreciate. I don't know how these baristas got hired. this is not the way I would like to start my day. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK.
