Food was standard - slightly confusing menu with different styles of food, but it was all fine. As a starter, I highly recommend the pupu platter to share! Crab cake was a bit salty, but the flavors are there. Teriyaki salmon was soft and flaky. Can't decide? Go with the bento box. Lobster and shrimp roll is recommended and my friends said it was great! My girlfriends and I were walking around Coronado Island and saw this spot has good views and cocktails so we decided to pop in for a drink. They were not busy when we walked in during lunch time on a Saturday however, the host stated it may be a 20 minute wait unless we wanted to sit in the bar area. Not wanting to wait, we chose the bar area but then the nice bartender asked us if we wanted a table. We asked for a table with a view of the bay and they quickly set up a table for us. The bartender was so friendly and his service was top notch. He checked on us regularly to ensure we didn't need anything. I ordered the Mojito Flight that is for 2 people. I shared with my girlfriends. It came with 3 flavors and the mojito came on the side so I could add it to whichever flavor. It was so cute and delicious! I loved it. The mango flavor was my favorite. This is a beautiful restaurant on the water. There's tons of indoor and outdoor seating. On a Friday night during happy we were able to snag a seat outside. We ordered a couple mocktails and the pupu platter. The mocktails were delicious great balance of sweetness and really clean fresh flavors. On the pupu platter comes the coconut shrimp, shrimp cocktail, Thai chicken egg rolls, lobster California roll and tuna poke stack. All pretty yummy foods. We had an absolutely incredible dinner at Peohe's in Coronado. The view alone is worth it, you're literally on the water with a beautiful view of the bay and skyline. For five people, with three bottles of wine, appetizers, mains, and dessert, we came in around $500, which felt more than fair given the quality and the location. Let's talk about the food. First, the bread. The whipped butter. Sounds simple, but dipping that fresh, warm bread into their clam chowder? Insane. My friend from the East Coast (Boston born and bred) said it was some of the best clam chowder she's ever had, which says a lot. Creamy, rich, packed with flavor, and not overly thick. Total winner. The Cesar salad on a crispy Asiago shell was AWESOME!!! a fun way to start the meal. And the presentation was 10/10. We split the Fire Roasted Baja Salmon, which came with shrimp, avocado corn pico, mango sticky rice, and lemon shallot butter, under $40, beautifully cooked, and perfect for sharing. Light but flavorful, and that mango sticky rice added a fun twist we didn't expect. But the real MVP? The Seafood Risotto. Now listen, I'm not a rice person at all, usually think it's just filler, but this dish changed my mind. It was rich, buttery, packed with perfectly cooked seafood, and somehow still light enough to not feel heavy. Honestly, I was jealous I didn't order it myself. Tough review to write. I had a good meal here over the summer with some colleagues and was expecting the same. I left disappointed. I had stopped by for lunch and intended to order the fish tacos. Why fish tacos at Peohe's? Because I felt like they knew how to do seafood right. The menu advertises the fish rather generically as "white fish." I asked my server what type of fish the kitchen used. He didn't know, but committed to check. After a too-long absence, he returned and informed me that it was Tilapia. I asked him if it was farmed and he confidently answered yes. I was flabbergasted that they would a farmed fish when I could go down the street to Coronado Brewing and get Wahoo or Ahi tacos for one and two dollars more. I ordered Peohe's Salad instead and it was a very nice salad. But it's not what I was expecting to order when I walked in. If you want good fish tacos on Coronado, walk another few blocks to Coronado Brewing. read more

The food was good, but not amazing considering the prices. Being on Coronado Island adds a lot to the ambience and the service was very enthusiastic and responsive. The appetizers were ample portions, especially the calamari, although it did have a little too much sauce and was a little greasy. I did enjoy the shrimp cocktail with the large prawns that tasted fresh. Asparagus was fine, although a little bland. The bacon bits seemed a little too dry and perhaps not as fresh on the roasted brussels sprouts which may have been a little too soft. It should've been dried more to add to the crispy texture. The waiter encourage me to consider the Chilean Seabass, which is normally my favorite. Besides, having a very small portion, I would not say it was anything but average and again seemed a little overcooked. The Pinot sauce was very well done however, although the mashed potatoes were cold and inconsistent. Based on what the others in my group had, I think I should've ordered the Callahan prime rib, which would've been a better deal and seemed tastier. And was around the same price. My wife and I are big fans of the Chart House, which just closed our only location at home recently. When we were at Coronado recently, we enjoyed a lovely dinner celebrating a birthday at Peohe's last week. evening. It was easy to create a reservation using Open Table, and there were plenty of open tables for a weekday evening. We had Whitney as a server, and she was a wealth of knowledge and great suggestions. She brought us some tasty bread with butter sprinkled with Himalayan black salt fresh out of the oven, and then we ordered a baked salmon for my wife, which included coconut ginger rice and seasonal vegetables simply grilled with olive oil. I ordered the sous vide roasted half chicken with roasted vegetables. We then ordered a mini hot chocolate lava cake for dessert, consisting of rich Godiva chocolate liqueur cake with molten chocolate center, served warm with chocolate sauce, Heath Bar Crunch and ice cream. Everything was delicious! The chicken was so tender, it fell off the bones, and the hot chocolate lava cake was so chocolatey. I would have ordered any of these dishes again! Peohe's considers itself to be fine dining and is nestled on the water's edge in the Coronado Ferry Landing offering amazing views of the downtown skyline and San Diego Bay. They have a very similar restaurant to Chart House, of which they are considered part of the Chart House and Landry family of restaurants. They specialize in fresh tropical seafood dishes, is known for their sushi bar, and has an elegant seating area indoors as well as patio seating. You can access Peohe's by land or water. You should join the Landry's Select Club by signing up at the restaurant or on the website and paying $25. In return, you'll receive $25 in credit to use at a Landry's restaurant (including Peohe's or Chart House) and then receive an additional $25 for your birthday every year. I'm always surprised by the mixed reviews here on yelp for Peohe's because my husband and I have never had a bad experience there. The food and service has always been great for us! We started with the calamari, which we love. Yes, it comes with fried veggies like peppers and onions not fries like some people seem to expect but we actually really enjoy them. We also had the crab cake, which was packed with meat and not overly breaded. The soft shell crab underneath was fried to perfection. I ordered the filet mignon, and while it was slightly overcooked, I kind of expected that it's just not my preferred cut (I'm a ribeye girl, but they don't offer ribeye). That said, the star of the night was definitely the 2 lbs of king crab legs. They were absolutely delicious, clean, already split open, and practically spike-free. We barely needed the crackers they gave us. For drinks, we ordered the mojito flight, which was so good we ended up getting another round. We just wish they were a little stronger. We sat outside on the patio and loved it! It wasn't too loud or too cold, and we could hear the waves from the nearby shore. Super relaxing. Our server was amazing too. While these views are excellent of Downtown San Diego and the bay, and the food and drinks were pretty good, I would say its overall average. The kimchi calamari was really good though- I would recommend that! The steak sliders were ok, a little dry, just nothing special. Our server was super nice as well. As a foodie craving big flavors and for these prices, I just want to be wowed is all! I wouldn't be opposed to going back but I probably just wouldn't choose to unless just for drinks. Our server was great! I wish I remembered his name it was an older gentlemen but he made us (party of five) feel welcomed and even cracked a few jokes keeping us entertained. We sat outside with a spectacular view of the water. It did get cold as the sunset and in the shade so we had the heat lamps on. Food was good. It was my first time there but not everyone's and I was told the food used to be better. We shared an appetizer (pu pu platter) and some of the sides. Note: while they don't have it listed as a side, it is possible to get the garlic mashed potatoes as a shared side. My dad was brought the wrong dish because the sides were wrong however it was quickly rectified. While I am not big on desserts the rest of the party enjoyed the hot lava cake which was made to order and, I'm told, extremely delicious. I ordered a sushi roll. Sad Father's Day experience. Today there was a different hostess; older woman. We waited an extended period of time before she even greeted us. When she finally spoke, she presented a limited menu and limited seating option. We were good with the menu; as we come often but there were lots of seats outside in the patio. She said we cannot have those unless we are willing to wait until later. My husband said no problem, how long might that be and she essentially told us a minimum 2 hours. Lucky for us, we have seen good customer service from Peohe's. Unfortunately for others, this might be their first time. Peohe's remember, "every" day matters when it comes to good customer service. I recently visited during Comic Con week for dinner with a friend. Easy to get reservations, table preference was available as the restaurant was not busy at the time. We opted for a table outside with a lovely view of the water. Heat lamps & blankets were offered when the sun set in case we were cold. The service was lovely beginning with the hostess to the server in training and our actual server. We had friendly prompt service the entire visit. I opted for the clam chowder as a starter accompanied by the Halibut MAI'A (Macadamia nuts, bananas, Frangelico coconut ginger rice). The clam chowder was light and savory just as I had hoped. Made a reservation over 3 weeks in advance for Valentine's Day at 5:15 PM, intentionally choosing an early time so we could enjoy the sunset during dinner. When we arrived, there was a line of 30+ people just to check in for their reservations. We were then told there would be an additional 1 hour and 15 minute wait -- despite having a reservation. I've never experienced a wait time like that with a reservation, and it defeats the purpose of booking in advance for a specific time. It would have gone a long way if the staff had been more apologetic or offered some kind of accommodation for the delay. Or even emailed or messaged us in advance to let us know. Once we were finally seated, our server was very kind and the food was good. However, the overall experience was disappointing and the meal didn't make up for the wait. Just like the rest of the stories, I booked a reservation weeks in advance for Valentine's Day, to show up to the restaurant with a huge line out to the street I stood in the line for 30 minutes, and then was told that it will be over an hour wait to be seated on top of having a reservation. I'm not sure how something like that can happen to an experienced restaurant. It was also disappointing that the staff was acting rude about it. Once I got seated, it did not get any better. Seemed like the bar was backed up like the front door was took a long time to get our drinks and the waiter was apologizing over and over. Our waiter repeated the exact order and after waiting 40 minutes the appetizer drinks and kids meals came out. Went here for a office lunch. Reservations were made. We were sat outside on the patio. The view is very nice...ocean! Restaurant wasn't busy at lunch. It took a few minutes for the waitress to come over. She took our drink order and we asked for water. It was 5 of us she only brought over 3 glasses and walked away. She went to another table and went inside the restaurant. She didn't come back...I had to wave her down. We got our drinks and she took our order. It took a while for the food to come out. The waitress didn't check on us or say the food is coming... nothing. Food was brought out by a runner....one of the orders was wrong and he took it back. She didnt check in on us. I waited 15 or so minutes before I waved her down again. She finally checked on the food and it came out. My co worker wanted bread and she gave us some. Co worker wanted butter and we had to get the manger that walked by. He brought out another basket of bread with butter. He said we should have gotten the bread and butter when we sat down. I had the peach palmer it is non alcoholic. It was very peachy....so good! The lobster shrimp roll was different from what I've had before. It was cold and creamy on an open bun. However, was very taken back by how long the line was outside the restaurant for people with reservations once I arrived. Then finding out it would be an hour wait on top of the reservation time that I was supposed to have. I lost my appetite by the time I got to the table and got the food. Reservation was at 5 and didn't eat my main dish until 7:20-7:30. The main dish was also not very warm and did not give a fine dining meal that I was hoping for. Price of the meal did not equate to the quality. Truthfully did not see anything special about this place other than the view in the restaurant. For my starter I chose the lobster bisque which was absolutely delicious, especially with the fresh soft warm rolls that we all pretty much ate our weight in. For my next course , I chose the prime rib which was delicious however I took most of it home as we are so much bread to start. We were getting our entree right as the clock struck midnight. Came in for Happy Hour on a Thursday. Had not been back for years and was looking forward to it because of the past experience. Drinks were good. Ordered the Spicy Tuna Poke Stack, and Skinny Truffle fries. The Spicy Tuna Poke stack was served with taro chips. The tuna had no flavor it was not poke, it was seasoned sesame seeds. Not spicy at all. No sauce. Unless, the side of wasabi was the spice aspect? The fries, were cooked well, crispy and soft in the inside. Unfortunately, it was missing flavor, lots of it. Truffle is a strong flavor but could not taste any at all. The garlic and parmesan, it could have use more of it and maybe some salt. Fries are better at Petco Park. Our server came back to take our order before HH was over and brought us our drink orders then he disappeared. He never came back to check on us. When we were wrapping up. I noticed that another party next to us who had the same server had received their check and so I was assuming we would be next. At the end, we were waiting for almost a hour for our bill.
