Amazing views, but the food and presentation wasn't anything to rave about. I usually don't like dining out on holiday occasions, but we went for Mother's Day dinner. The menu was a 3 course prefix. I opted for the wedge salad, prime rib, and the chocolate mousse cake. The wedge salad was nothing like a traditional wedge salad from most restaurants. The plating was sloppy and the blue cheese dressing didn't taste like blue cheese. The prime rib was prepared well. The mashed potatoes came out hard, like they've been sitting for awhile. The au jus sauce was too salty. My bf opted for the lobster bisque, swordfish, and white chocolate cheesecake. The cup of bisque was watery and had no texture or substance. The swordfish was dry. It looked dry on arrival. My daughter got the kids cheese burger (came out full size) so not bad for $15. The dessert was probably the best part, but I don't even think it's made in house. Our white chocolate raspberry cheese cake had a piece of wax paper stuck to the plate decoration. Service was good, but the restaurant overall didn't meet my expectations. I probably wouldn't consider returning.

Peohe's in Coronado is the most reviewed restaurant so I had to see. The restaurant appears a bit dated but was clean and presented nicely. There's interior and exterior seating, but with sunny San Diego weather, seating outside umbrella shades and waterfront views is preferred. The staff were very accommodating, helpful and nice, special thanks to our server Elle who had a positive attitude. The food selections were excellent. We ordered the seafood pasta, sesame crusted salmon for entrees and both were delicious. The Peohe salad and the red velvet cake were also yummy. This restaurant is part of the Chart House collection of restaurants throughout the nation, so most of the menu selections will be similar. Despite the common thread, the service, food and ambience were all fantastic. Recommend

Hubby wanted lobster but ended up ordering a prime rib end cut that came with garlic mashed potatoes. His drink ordered was a chocolate and bourbon drink that had a nice huge ice cube along with a skewered cherry and a solid chocolate ball. My mother in law had a blood orange and sage nonalcoholic beverage and she really enjoyed it. For dinner she had a wedge salad and lobster bisque soup. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and it was quite a generous portion with plenty of lobster chunks. I ordered the berry fauxhito which was quite refreshing. Sorry, we did share the pupu platter which had ahi poke, lobster sushi rolls, egg rolls, shrimp cocktail, and fried shrimp. We really enjoyed all of the elements on the platter. My favorites were the two different shrimp offerings. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor dining options, a sushi bar, as well as a regular bar. The atmosphere could be considered romantic in their large curved booths or business casual and also family friendly. There is something for everyone here. Also, shoutout to Devin as they were a magnificent server and met all our questions and needs. We will definitely be back.

Came here on a Saturday for lunch and absolutely loved it. We shared quite a few dishes and everything was great. The salmon on the bento box was 10/10. I shared fish and chips with one of my friends and we both really enjoyed it. The drinks were pretty good, however I think the food is what really made the experience so great. And the view!

I absolutely love Peohe's. The waterfront view is stunning. The poke is my fave...super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. Happy Hour is also a great deal, with food specials around $6-$12 and solid drink prices...$5.50 beers, $6 well drinks, and $9-$10 signature cocktails. Amazing views, great poke, and one of my favorite Happy Hours in Coronado!

    Nice romantic evening

First time dining at Peohe's!!! The staff were friendly and willing to assist. The fish was delightful, tasty and delicious. This place is so romantic whether dining inside or outside with heaters. This eatery is part of the Landry chain. Give this place a try if you ever visit Coronado, San Diego.

This place was really Good celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday and the restaurant was beautiful. The food was delicious and the customer service was amazing. Great job

    Pu pu platter

This place is going downhill. The service was slow, the pu pu platter app came out after 30 minutes. When I asked the server/ bartender where our food was because I saw him serve the couple's food that sat 10 minutes after we did, he said "I only have two hands." When the app finally came out, the shrimp cocktail was warm, the bed of lettuce was wilted and brown, and the rice used for the rolls were so dry it started to ger hard. My mom asked me if their $33 app was someone else's leftovers. This place has gone downhill.

Monday evening about 4:30 PM and I think the restaurant was a bit understaffed. There was no hostess as we entered and we weren't sure if they were even open for business except that we saw people sitting at the patio. Also, there were two ladies before us who said that there was someone working but she didn't come back yet and they've decided to leave so we could take their spot. Soon after a host appeared and put us on the waitlist. The restaurant was pretty empty. Nobody in the indoor dining area. We asked to be seated in the dining area and they places us in an enclosed patio which turned out perfect. We had a beautiful view and we had prompt service with recommendations and time to review our menus. However, they placed our appetizer before we got our waters. The Coconut Crunchy Shrimp was excellent and I ordered the Spider Roll which was delicious. My friend ordered the Salmon Aloha Catch, she asked how did they sauce the salmon but I think her question stumped the server and he said in a pan (you had your choice of grilled, baked, blackened and sautéed). She said the salmon was good but her veggies needed some salt. We were celebrating her birthday and a dessert with a candle is always a nice touch. I'll be back next week for another birthday celebration as this restaurant was the choice of the celebrant.

For Restaurant Week, we were in search for a waterfront restaurant to maximize our dining experience. We had a few options to consider and decided on Peohe's. They say it's a favorite in Coronado and very well known for its fresh tropical seafood dishes but the proof is in the pudding--we had to see about that. It was easy to get to by car plus a parking lot is available at Coronado Ferry Landing Marketplace. We could've taken the ferry for the full-on waterfront experience but wanted to have ample time for dinner. When we entered this modern-looking wood and glass building, it's island-inspired interior had a posh flair. We immediately requested outdoor seating. And once we got there, OMG what a stunning harbor view!! Later on, we witnessed a few times the ferry swirling into the landing at the dock. Our waiter and other staff provided a warm-friendly service even the people dining there were friendly too creating an inviting laid-back atmosphere. Come to find out, "Peohe's" is a Hawaiian word meaning "Gathering of Friends". What a beautiful evening in good company and surroundings! I felt like I was on vacation. The Restaurant Week menu had some really great options for our palates. Our dinner ended up to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Hands down, Peohe's is the BEST restaurant. Highly recommend it!! We look forward to returning :-)

This restaurant was really great! Not only is it beautiful, it has a gorgeous view on the water. I had the blackened salmon and my husband had the blackened swordfish. Both of them were delicious! We had mud pie for dessert and it was okay but the roasted almonds on top were sort of overpowering. The wait staff was excellent and the food was served perfectly. Highly recommend.

Came here for Valentine's Day and although the wait was longer than anticipated, with a reservation, it was understandable for the day. Nevertheless it was a great dinner with an amazing view of the city and our server was nice and attentive, which made the wait all that much more worth it. Steak was tender, lobster was fresh, views unmatched. Made our 15th Valentines Dinner memorable. Definitely coming back for another special dinner in the future.

My wife, son, and I came here for lunch and this place is amazing on Coronado Island. Highly recommend sitting on the patio area and enjoying the downtown San Diego views from the water. Restaurant is huge and plenty of seating so it's easy to walk in or make reservation. Great food options, you won't be disappointed!

Yes, there is a public lot adjacent to the restaurant

    Is there a children's menu?

Yes, but be aware the portions were massive! I believe my friends kids had chicken fingers and fries!

    Is this place kid friendly?

    Absolutely! Kids love us!

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Interestingly two years ago they told us service dogs only but a couple of weeks ago we saw a dog on the patio and the owners of the dog said apparently now dogs are allowed patio only

Have not been since remodel and new chef / menu. Happy to say still one of my favorite "date night"…read morerestaurants in San Diego (dad / daughter date this time) We had the bread (delicious, a hint of citrus in the loaf I think) and the main lobster cocktail to start - lobster was semi-hands on to get to claws to make it interactive. Perhaps a dip or preparation with the tamale would have improved? Mains were catch of the day (halibut and ahi) plus sides. Fish was simply grilled but cooked perfectly, asparagus was a standout side as cooked perfectly crisp with a nice char topped with an amazing green goddess sauce. Mushrooms were surprisingly large portion. Frites were perfect as frites could be. The ambiance is the same as I remember but the place feels a bit more elegant with updated lighting, table side lanterns. and a bit more "swank" to banquettes and brass / wood molding. Service was prompt and fun. All in all everything it has always been as a SD institution. Note to Somm / Bev Mgr: You CLEARLY have an issue with Chardonnay, and I respect that statement (a quirk shared across CH restaurants, try finding vodka or ketchup at C&C). I would only say that if you have an issue with Chardonnay and only have one by glass and one by bottle on the list, it should be French and not CA. (Maybe a Chablis or Pouilly Fuisse by the glass and a 1er cru by bottle?) Seems like if you're going to be bold and snub Chardonnay (at a fish / seafood establishment no less) you should fully commit to your boldness and not pussyfoot with a CA bottle to appease those looking for something assembling a butter bomb (to be fair, the glass selection was an unoaked stainless steel variety) Besides, if you went French you wouldn't even have to have the word "Chardonnay" on your wine list :) PS: I went by the glass with 1er cru champagne and a morgon which was perfect with the grilled halibut and stood up to the asparagus. You're the best, love your establishment and I will be back

This Blue Water is located on India St in Mission Hills, though they have another location in Ocean Beach. Parking can be a little tricky, as there is no parking lot they are on a main road close to a split in a residential area. The interior is pretty spacious - the fish market is towards the front, and the ordering counter is in the back. Seating is spread out between the main area where the market is, a side room, and outdoors in the front. Decor and aesthetics are casual - very seafood restaurant-esque with straightforward design. The foot traffic set up so you order first and then find a table before they serve your meal to you. The menu is extensive - they have a large selection of fish that can be prepared several ways. It's a little overwhelming to take in, but there was no pressure for us to order; if there's a line all the more time to explore. I ultimately decided to get their mini shrimp tacos - these were served on a corn tortilla and topped with cabbage, tomatoes, onions, white sauce, and cheddar cheese with a side of tomatillo sauce. The tacos were great - super fresh, they didn't skimp on the shrimp, and all the flavors and textures worked really well together. I also ordered a cup of NE clam chowder which was good - not the best one I've had but for being in Southern California it held its own. Service was good - I'm seeing reviews of long lines but I think I came at the right time; there are barely a line to order and my meal was served shortly after that. Everyone kept recommending this place to me, but somehow I didn't quite know where it was, and…read moredidn't actually try it until this week. First, the view and ambiance: great views of the parked boats in the harbor from both the outdoor and indoor seating areas. Not a fancy-doodle seafood place (so don't wear your dancing shoes and your fancy jewelry here!), but fast, pleasant service in a clean, well run, casual seafood cafe/bar. The food: we loved the food! They had several fish salad options, as well as fish (or octopus) tacos and fried fish platters. I loved the swordfish salad, very healthy and filling. We also got the fried fish platter, which was really good, and a really good deal, especially for the price point in downtown San Diego. So now I see why everyone recommended this place! Pay parking available right outside. We walked out on the piers and along the bayside sidewalk after our meal. Such a relaxing area of town! PS: This place is pretty close to the airport, so it might be a great place to bring friends/family right after you've picked them up from the airport!

But every once in a while, hubby has a special request & we make it happen. His San Diego wish? Thursday night all-you-can-eat lobster dinner at 100s Seafood Grill Buffet. And when I say seafood extravaganza, I mean it. Beyond the lobster, there were crab legs, oysters, sushi galore (maki, nigiri & sashimi), lots of Asian specialties plus plenty of American comfort-food favorites to satisfy just about everyone. Now, full disclosure: my feelings were a little mixed, but hubby? He was living his absolute best life. The lobster is served cut in half & broiled, which unfortunately made the meat sort of melt into the shell. Each half ended up being only a couple bites & you did have to wait in line to grab one when fresh trays came out (one half per person at a time). That said, credit where it is due: the kitchen brought out lobster trays pretty regularly, so the wait never felt unreasonable. Meanwhile, hubby proceeded to eat what I can only describe as his body weight in crab legs. His only critique was that he prefers them served hot rather than cold, although the hot butter on draft definitely helped make up for that. I also appreciated how many unique dishes were available beyond seafood, making the buffet feel more interesting than your standard steam-table experience. And for me, the dessert section was a standout, especially the gelato station, which I may or may not have visited more than once. At $56.99, my personal preference would probably be to spend that money at a really good sushi restaurant. But if your dream scenario involves unlimited lobster, crab legs, oysters & a seafood feast where you can try a little bit of everything, this place absolutely delivers. Final verdict? Maybe not my personal seafood fantasy but hubby was THRILLED & sometimes that's the most important review of all. NOM NOM NOM #YUM

That's a disgusting amount of money to pay for diarrhea inducing food!!! Yuck 1 out of 5 stars because YELP won't allow me to score this place any lower. Best part of my meal was the Diet Pepsi and coconut gelato.

Linguine and Clams - fresh clams with delicious sauce but I wish it could have been thicker and linguine is more al dente. Had to request for extra parmesan cheese. Paella - perfectly cooked saffron rice, fresh seafoods and generous chicken and chorizo. Calamari with honey chili lime sauce - crispy outside and soft calamari with delicious sauce. Soup of the Day/ Lobster bisque - smooth, creamy, and well seasoned soup. Glad there's not too much wine added. Some restaurants, wine overpowers the soup. Outstanding customer service from front desk to our servers. We were given a great table overlooking San Diego Bay. Thanks for the free brownies with ice cream. Highly recommended!
