    Half a dozen oysters

The server was so helpful and I loved the food. Authentic Mexican shrimp and octopus cocktail. Also, the server helped us with ordering off menu items for the kids I.e., quesadillas side of rice and beans. They also have steak tacos. The ambience was relaxing and private for my group of 13 people. We reserved the restaurant weeks in advance and got VIP treatment. They had a long table ready for us on the side of the restaurant. The setting was private as no other groups were near us. One minor thing was that we did not have a heater in our area. All the heaters were in the front of the restaurant.

A welcoming set-up... cozy yet not overly crowded.

Oh my goodness! So we had a mixup with a reservation (my fault) and yet manager Katia handled it with such grace and professionalism that it allowed us to truly enjoy our evening and was it ever wonderful!! We'd heard so many good things about the menu it was tough to choose what to order... I thoroughly enjoyed the cauliflower (which we ordered is an appetizer). The sauce was complex, flavorfully warm, and absolutely delicious. (Yes just cauliflower) Yet it was as memorable as the most exotic dish on any menu! The fish fillet was yummy as well and cooked to perfection. The patio 'vibe' lent itself to a casual evening yet the service felt 5 star. Our server, Hector, couldn't have been more pleasant in spite of a crazy busy night. So grateful for a lovely evening and know La Corriente will be a welcome addition to the community.

Unfortunately, my experience at La Corriente was not very satisfying. The portion sizes were extremely small. My California taco was served on a very small plate, and my daughter's ceviche portion was even smaller. It was also very spicy, and she couldn't eat it. We asked if they could replace it with a non-spicy version, but they said all their ingredients are already mixed with chili. Instead, they brought a dish mostly filled with onions and just a few pieces of avocado, which was disappointing. The atmosphere was also not as expected. It looks much nicer in photos, but in reality, it's quite ordinary, located right by the street, and noisy. Overall, not a great experience.

It's an order at the counter with a small seating area inside and a nice patio outdoors. Purchase & provided a number. Not only do that have their famous lobster rolls, but they also have additional signature sandwiches, specialty soups, salads and home made cole slaw as just one of their side options. Most people here order the classic lobster roll as did I. That said, you can also customize your roll, plus they offer shrimp and crab choices too! Not to long of a wait, but keep in mind ALL orders are made "fresh to order", so if they're busy it can take a little longer. Presentation was nice and sandwiches are served with a slice of fresh lemon that brightens the taste. The highlight was the decadent butter fried roll. It was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can taste the butter in each bite. They provide fresh cold water that you can serve yourself which was welcome with the warm weather. Additionally, they have soda and lemonade. It could be considered a bit pricey, but everything I was eating on my San Diego trip near the beach is. Service was friendly and they brought my meal to my table which was nice. Would definitely go again. Note-There are two other locations in the San Diego area. If you have to use the restroom there is not one inside their establishment, it's a few buildings down and they will provide you a key and directions.

With $1.50 oysters, it's almost like a no lose situation at this point so honestly, give it a try. That being said, oysters aren't the star of the show and that's crazy coming from someone who can eat 3 dozen oysters in one seating. Get the crab toast, it's magical. Get the happy hour burger, the sesame seed bun is the winner. The most memorable part of the meal?? The squash salad dish that was cooked to perfection. This was something I couldn't stop going back and honestly, I wanted to lick the plate clean. I would be mistaken though if I didn't mention the service. I truly wish I remembered her name, but she was the only one working that day (her name started with a K). She was so great and handled the whole floor like a pro. She's a good one and she deserves a raise for sure. In conclusion, go here and ask questions later. Promise you won't regret it.

We tend to be quite regular here - whenever we find ourselves downtown or in the Little Italy area. We often take the trolley, but every so often we'll drive. Be prepared for this area to be busy, so parking can be tricky to find unless you opt for paid parking nearby. Each time, we're seated without a reservation (and sometimes as a family of 4) and it's been fun to bounce around their dining rooms as each spot has its own experience. This time, we snagged their bench seats right at the front. It's an open air concept, which I love, because I can enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant, yet outside a bit. My husband and I enjoy their menu and appreciate how it changes up regularly. Every visit necessitates oysters on the half shell, a ceviche, and a shared main. Cocktails continue to be on point, no notes. You cannot go wrong with any of their seafood - always so fresh and flavorful. We've had their seafood platters before - those are often changing up seasonally. It's a great way to try a little of everything if it's your first time or you're wanting to share. See for yourself why Ironside is a gem in downtown SD.

Seréa at Hotel del Coronado A Five-Star Coastal Experience…read more We had an absolutely outstanding five-star meal at Seréa, the oceanfront restaurant at the iconic Hotel del Coronado (right next to Nobu). The setting was breathtaking...! Sweeping views of the Pacific, elegant coastal decor, string lights, and swaying palms creating the perfect atmosphere for a special evening. Our cocktails were light, refreshing, and beautifully balanced, made with freshly muddled berries. Service from Brett was impeccable from start to finish; warm, attentive, and professional. Instead of the usual appetizer + entrée route, we decided to build our entire meal around a selection of appetizers so we could sample more dishes. It was an excellent choice! Variety really is the spice of life. We started with the house sourdough focaccia: warm, spongy, and perfectly golden, served with a flavorful dipping sauce that we couldn't stop eating. The crispy saganaki was golden and addictive, with bright, complementary flavors. The crispy calamari was light, perfectly fried, and tossed with capers, fresh herbs, and a zesty lemon-chili aioli. We finished with the garlic harissa chicken kabob: tender, well-seasoned chicken with a tangy harissa yogurt, served with warm flatbread and roasted vegetables. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully executed. From the stunning ocean views and creative coastal cuisine to the warm hospitality, Seréa delivered a memorable experience. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

And then there was the food. Menu all sounded great but this kitchen isn't up to the task, and relys on salt to make up for shortcomings. Octopus was so salty it was inedible. Soup was equally salty and, at nearly $30 for a cup, is ridiculously over-priced. Swordfish Tacos had good flavot but were so light on fillings that it was a joke. Maybe, MAYBE, an ounce if fish per 'taco.' Only dish that was halfway decent was Lobster Rigatoni. Still salt forward, but good spice. Would definitely not recommend this place and won't go back.
