After 30 minutes waiting, we got our drinks.. Mexican Coca-Cola....

Where do I even begin? We had high hopes for La Corriente Coronado, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. We were seated right away and the lady hostess was very nice. However, we waited over 30 minutes without even being offered water. We were told our waiter was new, which I completely understand, but another hostess eventually had to step in and take our order. After ordering, we waited another 20 minutes for our food, which was especially frustrating with a one-year-old at the table. Even the homemade guacamole didn't come out ahead of the meal. Unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait. The beer-battered shrimp tacos had only THREE small shrimp total in each taco, covered in a huge amount of batter. They should honestly just be called beer-battered tacos. Definitely not worth the money. We really wanted to like this place, but between the service and mediocre food, we left very disappointed.

Ambiance was modern, fresh. We sat at the patio and I felt like I was in an upscale beachside Mexican restaurant. My husband made a lunch reservation for Valentine's Day. We had a great table. Roberto was our server and he was very friendly. We shared ahi tostada, hamachi and clam chowder. All were excellent. Will be back!

Service is good. Food was great as well. Now open for breakfast and brunch. We had the French toast and mushroom omelet. Both great. Friends enjoyed their breakfast as well.

The happy hour had an amazing variety. They bring out little mini tostadas with dipping sauces like a hot mango salsa, avocado, key, limes, and a mild red pepper sauce. The service is very attentive. The red snapper tostada was very special. I also had oysters and a shrimp taco.

Truly dissapointed at this place, considering I have visited the Tijuana location. My husband and I arrived and it took them about 15 to 20 minutes to even come to the table to offer us drinks... the food was so so... overpriced for sure, however the servers did not attend to us as I would have expected... they never brought us tostadas... I was very upset because we did observe that they attended to other tables, but we were left unseen after bringing the food... I definitely won't be back...

The bluefin Roll, with bluefin tuna, tempura shrimp, leche de tigre, avocado and cucumber. Pretty good

We can for lunch on the patio - it was a sunny February day. Most of the tables were shaded, and pretty chilly but we were fortunate to get the one sunny table. We tried two of the Baja Maki rolls - the Coronado roll with hamachi, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and a ceviche dressing, and the bluefin Roll, with bluefin tuna, shrimp, leche de tigre, avocado and cucumber. Both good, but would have been better without the sauce on top. We did like the ponzu sauce. We also ordered the Ahi tuna tostada - it was ok, but ahi was vey pale and flavorless . I am doing dry February, so tried the Clamato AA with spicy tomato juice, clams, and tahin and it was very tasty. Might try the coconut mocktail next time. too. Overall, food was just ok, but loved the ambiance.

    Great omelet

Great spot for brunch. If you can eat outside in a nice day do it. Service was excellent.

The server was so helpful and I loved the food. Authentic Mexican shrimp and octopus cocktail. Also, the server helped us with ordering off menu items for the kids I.e., quesadillas side of rice and beans. They also have steak tacos. The ambience was relaxing and private for my group of 13 people. We reserved the restaurant weeks in advance and got VIP treatment. They had a long table ready for us on the side of the restaurant. The setting was private as no other groups were near us. One minor thing was that we did not have a heater in our area. All the heaters were in the front of the restaurant.

A welcoming set-up... cozy yet not overly crowded.

Oh my goodness! So we had a mixup with a reservation (my fault) and yet manager Katia handled it with such grace and professionalism that it allowed us to truly enjoy our evening and was it ever wonderful!! We'd heard so many good things about the menu it was tough to choose what to order... I thoroughly enjoyed the cauliflower (which we ordered is an appetizer). The sauce was complex, flavorfully warm, and absolutely delicious. (Yes just cauliflower) Yet it was as memorable as the most exotic dish on any menu! The fish fillet was yummy as well and cooked to perfection. The patio 'vibe' lent itself to a casual evening yet the service felt 5 star. Our server, Hector, couldn't have been more pleasant in spite of a crazy busy night. So grateful for a lovely evening and know La Corriente will be a welcome addition to the community.

Unfortunately, my experience at La Corriente was not very satisfying. The portion sizes were extremely small. My California taco was served on a very small plate, and my daughter's ceviche portion was even smaller. It was also very spicy, and she couldn't eat it. We asked if they could replace it with a non-spicy version, but they said all their ingredients are already mixed with chili. Instead, they brought a dish mostly filled with onions and just a few pieces of avocado, which was disappointing. The atmosphere was also not as expected. It looks much nicer in photos, but in reality, it's quite ordinary, located right by the street, and noisy. Overall, not a great experience.

It's an order at the counter with a small seating area inside and a nice patio outdoors. Purchase & provided a number. Not only do that have their famous lobster rolls, but they also have additional signature sandwiches, specialty soups, salads and home made cole slaw as just one of their side options. Most people here order the classic lobster roll as did I. That said, you can also customize your roll, plus they offer shrimp and crab choices too! Not to long of a wait, but keep in mind ALL orders are made "fresh to order", so if they're busy it can take a little longer. Presentation was nice and sandwiches are served with a slice of fresh lemon that brightens the taste. The highlight was the decadent butter fried roll. It was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can taste the butter in each bite. They provide fresh cold water that you can serve yourself which was welcome with the warm weather. Additionally, they have soda and lemonade. It could be considered a bit pricey, but everything I was eating on my San Diego trip near the beach is. Service was friendly and they brought my meal to my table which was nice. Would definitely go again. Note-There are two other locations in the San Diego area. If you have to use the restroom there is not one inside their establishment, it's a few buildings down and they will provide you a key and directions.

It's a cool, simple establishment no frills or thrills, just good food and straight to the point. Walk in, place your order, grab a spot inside or outside, and when your food is ready, they'll bring it out to you. You can also order to go. The lobster rolls are dangerously delicious! The lobster meat is fresh and tasty, and the bun is soft and just right. My only wish? I could've gone for some really good fries instead of chips with the sandwich. They do offer upgraded chip options, though, so you're not stuck with your typical Lays-type chips. Overall, it's a good spot and definitely worth checking out. I'll be back! Pro tip: Go for The Boss. It has the perfect meat-to-bun ratio.

FANTASTIC! Absolutely will visit this place every time I'm in the area. I've already spread the…read moreword to a bunch of family and friends. This is very high on my list. Before I get started on the hundreds of amazing things to say about this place, let's start off with one "annoying" thing. It was hard to find. There were absolutely no signs in the hotel pointing you to where the restaurants would be. We also asked several hotel staff members and got even more confused. Once we found the little strip of several restaurants, we accidentally walked right past it thinking it was apart of the NoBu restaurant. Now that I know where it is, I'll know exactly where to go. Let's talk about all the GOOD! The view was beautiful. There were lots of kids playing on the grass in front of the restaurant but the way they set up the place, it wasn't loud at all and cute to see. The staff members were on top of their game. Nothing went unnoticed! They all worked as a team. The Knowledge about the restaurant, the food, and the drinks was very impressive. Even if you couldn't decide, they would happily guide you to make the right choices. - I want to give a shoutout to Mark our waiter. He was an absolute delight. He was witty, knowledgeable, lead us in the right direction, and spoiled us for our birthday celebration dinner. He made the experience 10x better. About the food...I'm still thinking about the delicious food they served and it's been weeks since I was there. I want to put extra attention on the halibut ceviche, WOW! That needs to be a staple is you visit, it's a must try. Also please don't ever take this off the menu! I would solely travel out here just for the alone and buy 5 at a time (yes it was that good). The sauce they put it in makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Everything here is very unique and worth it. There wasn't one bad food item at all. Plus the drinks, were so smooth. If for whatever reason you wanted to alter your drink (like someone at my party did) they were happy to accommodate and then they also executed perfectly. It is a little bit on the pricier side, but once you experience the service, the extra care, and the delicious food you can confidently say it's worth it. I hope more people experience this place, they deserve more than five stars.

For the record, I'm not one of those people who only leaves one star yelp reviews, I'm usually…read morepretty positive and fair. Based on the price point of the menu, I was excited for this dinner. I left feeling disappointed. Let's start with the good: - Atmosphere: Beautifully designed interior and outdoor tables get a great view of the ocean and courtyard of the hotel - Sides / Apps: Brussels sprouts, patatas bravas, and halibut ceviche were all delicious The bad: - Service: the service was good at the beginning, but the waiter brought the wrong seafood platter (we asked for wood fired specifically, he brought raw). Time in between visits and check-ins was noticeably long. - Entree: I got the wood fired fish, which was Spanish sea bass (I'm blanking on the actual name). It tastes good but was dry. At $60 / lb I was hoping for more The ugly: - Seafood Tower: I am a huge seafood fan and this was what I was looking forward to the most. The waiter brought out the cold one even though we requested the wood fired. This was corrected fairly quickly which I respect, but the product was the sore spot. The shrimp was actually really good, as was the king crab leg (or half, I should say. For $180 I was expecting more than just one bite per person). Lobster was also an embarrassing amount. Oysters were inedible. You can see my photos to see what I'm talking about.
