I brought my car for a routine tire pressure check and fill. I have a tire pressure sensor in my dash so I can see what each tire is individually at. Pep boys somehow found a nail in a tire that had perfectly normal PSI reading. After paying for them to fix my tire, which I had no issue with previously, it became deflated overnight. They left my car in a worse state than what I brought to them. Now I have to buy a new tire after just getting new ones last year and am wondering if that "nail" in my tire even existed, since the problems didn't start until after I visited this location. Horrible way to treat local people. Never again, pep boys. Wish I read the horrible reviews about pep boys before stopping in. Came in to get an oil change getting ready for a road trip even though it was going to be a couple hours and I would have to leave my car they wouldn't do the oil change because I have a truck rack on my truck so it's to tall for the lift. I had my Honda Pilot service a few months ago and after taking a closer look at my paperwork I found out they sold me an intake air hose (not original) at a whopping $112.00 dollars which original from the dealer only costs $45!!!. I call them up and specifically ask if they used original parts and the guy that answer gave me a definitive no. DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! Every time in the past the front desk clerks know exactly what oil I have used in the past. This guy just tried to quote me 102.00 oil change when I never have spent more the 50 dollars. I was on the way to work so, I was really happy that this location helped me right away. The customer service and work performed here are solid. The problem I do have is that I paid for lifetime alignment and never get to use it, because "the machine is broken." I've been told this for at least a couple years now, and it's apparently also a problem at the other location nearby. When will it ever get fixed? They don't know! I wanted them to take a look at an oil leak, but since they use the designated handicapped parking to store their customers cars; it was too difficult. The cars were there at 245 pm, and were still there at 3:10 when the manager Jesus lied and said they were only there for a minute. I asked for the regional managers name and contact info, and Jesus refused to give it to me. I called later on and asked the employee who answered the phone for that info. As he was looking it up Jesus took the phone and hung ip on me. I had to call a different Pep Boys where they gladly gave me the info. They have lost me as a customer, but I want to make sure they don't treat other disabled people this way. read more

Brought my old 97 ford in for oil change, wipers and a quote on a power window issue. Oil was fine. The wiper job was terrible as the left side barely touches the window at all. They didn't take the door panel off but quoted me almost $900 to repair the issue. Crazy. Bought the part on rockauto for $35 and had someone install for $95. read more

The sweetest guys helped me out big time. 40 miles from home, pouring rain, 15 minutes until closing and they still took the time to stand in the rain and try to replace my windshield wipers so I could drive home safely. Kevin works on the weekends and is AMAZING!!! Spent 2 grand yesterday at the dealership, left the lot, and my battery began acting up. Brought it to Kevin today and he told me that my battery was almost dead- he knew the problem immediately and got it fixed up for me even though they were swamped (he said my battery wouldn't even last until tomorrow). Shop manager Kevin is very helpful and honest. Was able to squeeze me in between a 9am and a 10am appointment. Very personable. The tech who worked on my car was professional and courteous. No forced up-selling. Did not try for all the bells and whistles. Showed me the cabin air filter so I could see for myself instead of just telling me I need this, or I need that. Although EVs require little to no service, nevertheless they require some basic maintenance such as tire rotations. Never had I had a problem servicing my vehicle at Pep Boys because they are always readily available to schedule an appointment within my convenience, provide the utmost care and attention to detail, and are incredibly transparent with their prices and labor costs. My EV's manufacturer quoted me $65 for a service that should be free, and Pep Boys performed that service on my vehicle FOR FREE. No questions asked. I left and went to get some lunch, walked back an hour and a half later and my car was still untouched. No excuse. I swear this place doesn't even hide rhe fact that they wanna push you to buy something...first time I even step foot in that place I hear a customer service rep(fat white guy) tell one customer he needs new tired to where the customer replies "they're brand new" that right gave me bad feeling ...then I just ask for an oil change...then when I pick my car the same customer service rep tells me "you need new tires" Wow...then I told him I'm OK with my tires...then I go a second time because my Air conditioner is not blowing cold air... I drop it off then I get call that same day saying that my entire Air conditioning needs to be replaced...that stunned me because its still turns on it's just not blowing cold air...told me.it would cost $4,000 to replace the whole thing...I told them I'm not interested...so then my step dad takes it to a guy he knows and all he did was put some oil in the AC unit and just like that my AC works again...poeple at this place are crooks don't go here...luckily I found another place that doesn't sell me on other issues I have with my vehicle read more

I had made an appointment for this location for today November 26th for 10:00am and I called to see how long it would take for my car to be serviced as I have a busy day ahead of me. The woman that picked up the phone proceeded to tell me there is no appointment with my name or car model showing at all and suggested I made the appointment at the other Burbank location and to call them. She was less than friendly and helpful and sounded pissed off like I'm "bothering" her even. Moving on. Called the Olive location, not it, called the Lankershim location, not it. Looked at my text messages and there was a confirmation from pepboys I had gotten with a link to track the progress of the service. On the bottom of it a number to call if I have any issues. Surprise surprise, number leads to yet another super "pleasant" conversation with the same horrible woman telling me rudely that I already called this number and it's not them. Well, miserable lady, it is you, you messed up and yet still giving me attitude. At this point I'm pretty sure this is the same employee that also "made" the appointment in the first place. Needless to say I don't need hostility on my day off as I already don't have much free time. My car battery died today ( Sunday before Presidents' day). I called AAA , then Pep Boys, talked to Kevin, He said "Yup we have a battery for your car, come on in". I waited over an hour for AAA and when they charged and tested it the guy told me I needed a new battery but I could drive it to PEP BOYS. Got there, met Kevin who said, "Well let's look first." Cleaned the terminals, tested it and said, "I could sell you a battery if you want but I don't think you need it yet."
