06/29/19-06/01/19 Pepboys Burbank 3514 W Burbank Blvd Kevin is the Assistant Manager and is very unprofessional insisted that my car was ok after he reset the engine light that was blinking by going through my fuse box with his recorder. Then he calls me and tells me nothing is wrong with my car and it's ok to drive long distance and if anything happens I know where to find him. Long story short, he ruined my engine by professional negligence and professional malpractice. I later learned that the when the engine light is blinking means do not drive and caution. He sounds of connected it to the diagnosis machine I was happy too leave it there and have him fix it. Now he ruined my engine and I'm reporting him to the BAR. IN MY OPINION HE IS NOT ETHICAL AND SHOULDN'T BE AN ASSISTANT MANAGER OR WORKING ON OTHER PEOPLE'S VALUABLE ITEMS. BEWARE DO NOT GO TO THIS PEPBOYS. Let me just add this. I kept asking Kevin are you my car is going to be ok I have my 5 year old with me I don't want to get stranded and Kevin INSISTED nothing was wrong but he never diagnosed the car!!! I was sick in EAST LA in the heat with my 4 year who was crying because of the heat and the 3 hour wait for the Tow Truck that Kevin said he'll get it covered to bring it back to Burbank. I bring it back to Burbank and he says he can't fix it because it's the engine. BECAUSE HE SAID IT WAS OK TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCE WHICH RUINED MY CAR. I've been stuck in the SFV 4 DAYS NOW, missing work, my daughter is missing day care that's paid for, we're paying my friend to stay at his house. My daughter is extremely stressed out and wants to go home and KEVIN didn't even have the RESPECT to get me a rental.. at least do it for my daughter! The other employees are ok but Kevin is not to be trusted in my opinion. Happy 4th of July I had reservation to go camping if he would of did his due dilligence and find the problem I would of happily paid for it to get fixed there or take it to Kia it could of been the fuel injector regular maintinace but no he insisted everything is ok and now my engine is severely damaged. I want to cry why couldn't he just do his job and check out my car. When I get in my car the fuse box cover wasn't even put back. So disrespectful. I needed a break for about a week or two ago and on 4th of July I decided to finally take it. I called other pepboys, they were busy already by 9am. I called this location, Myron picked up the call and he was very nice. Told me to take the car in and he will let me know how long it might take. Myron took my information. He informed me he will have the mechanic look at the car and will let me know how much, how long it will take. He calls me and tells me not only I needed breaks. I also need rotors as well. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! THEY ARE UNDERHANDED LIARS....NO OFFENSE TO THE FEW NICE EMPLOYEES THAT THEY DO HAVE. It all started when my car was having trouble starting...a starter issue not a battery issue. Long story short, they kept my car overnight. I got my car and there's oil handprints all over the interior of my vehicle. All of the radio stations and the clocks are reset (meaning my battery was either taken out or swapped) I get my car and drive it a couple blocks, it dies at every red light. I wasn't having this issue before they put their paws on my car claiming to "fix" it. Anyways, $300 and a weak battery later, I'm expressing my frustration over the price for a battery $116 + labor...hell no, we won't go! Walmart sells batteries for $40. I can put it in my damn self. Anyhow, i was not helped here, they prey on the fact that you're a female and may not know a lot about cars. Ladies, don't go to this place alone. They will get you, like they got me. read more

A tire on my Ford Focus popped the other day from a screw I didn't take care of quick enough. I called up the Burbank Blvd Pep Boys and they didn't have the tire I wanted but they said the Pep Boys on Olive did. I felt bad because Kevin on the phone was so friendly and knowledgeable I wanted to give him my business. I called the Pep Boys on Olive and got put on hold only to be followed up with the typical disinterested mechanic-type saying yeah, they could get to it some time today. And after the differences in experience on the phone (and looking at the reviews on Yelp), I decided to buy the tire from the Olive store, but have the labor done by Kevin's team on Burbank Blvd. Nobody likes going to the mechanic in the first place. It's usually an emotionally draining mess knowing you have to pay for something you weren't planning on. But Kevin was funny, knowledgeable and super helpful and friendly. And everyone that came in to the shop behind me had big smiles on their faces and talked to him like they'd been coming to him for years. It was a bit Twilight Zone, because I'm not used to seeing so many happy people at the mechanic. But it was awesome at the same time. And it didn't hurt that Dino's is next door so you can get a slice or two (those slices are GINORMOUS btw) while you wait. I wish all auto shops, including the Pep Boys on Olive, would take a cue from Pep Boys on Burbank! Somehow my review got deleted. Long post short.. The mechanic lied about me needing rear brakes when I put them on myself just three months ago. And drum brakes don't wear out for a long long time! When I said I want a manager for a second opinion, he walked over to him and then came back and shrugged, and said, okay you're okay then. I asked him why he did this and tried to have me sympathize with him that it was a business to make money. Make money by ripping people off?? That's the wrong way to run a business buddy. Got a battery check replacement in same day without an appointment. Work was done in a timely manner. Of course I called ahead of time before showing up. This was during the holiday hours so surprisingly no BS you'd typically expect from mechanics. Very smooth installation. The shop manager Kevin who did the paperwork was very straight forward and knowledgeable. The other so-called manager, Joey, who performed the labor kept putting tools in his shirt pocket. Every time he would lean in they would fall out and hit my car. He did it twice and poked fun at how I shouldn't sue him or chatting how he shouldn't be doing the work because he's a manager. Had it left a visible mark I would have definitely came after Pep Boys. Had Joey been more professional and talked less it would have been a raving review! You'll know if you encounter him. I knew I needed repairs, and saw the 2 star rating but had good experiences with the Pep Boys on Hollywood. Well, this ain't Hollywood. 6 hours later, despite being "first in the queue," they diagnose my car. I hear it and tell them to patch it up as I want to take it elsewhere to get fixed. 90 minutes after THAT, I drive it home...by the time I get it close to home, suddenly it's misfiring and stalling (something it hadn't done before). MYRON IS MY HERO! Pep Boys saved the day! I am the dispatcher at a limousine service and on one of the hottest days of the summer the AC stops working just as a bride and her party were getting in the limo. The wedding chapel was 4 blocks from Pep Boys so I dispatched the chauffeur there hoping something could be done. As luck would have it Myron was on duty. He went above and beyond to assist us with the AC. He could have charged us a ridiculous fee because he knew we were in a desperate situation but he didn't! It was simply a loose wire. What's the point of a 9am appointment on a Saturday morning if my car is still sitting unserviced at 10am?? I finally got out of there by 11am, but my car was running worse than when I got there. I only went for a SMOG check, but instead they recommended a host of repairs, my breaks went to shit as soon as I left the parking lot, and my car felt like it was going to fall apart on the freeway! Labor Day my sons car breaks down the company assigned my tow to this location - I walked in and Greg and Edwin greeted me right away the service provider notified them ahead of time they were expecting me. They were professional and personable. I was stressed to say the least. These young men seen this and mind you I was not their only customer they had cars they were working on but they stopped and assisted me Edwin was able to find out which fleet company had our coverage - Greg went out did two different diagnostics and kid you not before I knew it had what the issue was- it was a holiday so nothing they could really do they assured me they would call me the next morning with updates - 9 am I received a call Greg went contacted the fleet company he got all the information and mind you this took time and patience - sadly my car had to be towed to a dealership the issue was under a factory warranty so dealer had to be the one to service the car- Greg again going beyond what anyone truly has done for me took care of the transferring of the car when the tow service came he made sure all was ok I didn't have to go ( I was working and impossible for me to be with the car) I highly recommend this location. you want hard working caring mechanics - I absolutely trust , who cared so so much to help me and honest - look no further you must go to this Pep Boys 3514 Burbank blvd this location trumps any other mechanic I have ever been too. Two months ago I needed an oil change and 105k maintenance on my 2013 Mazda3. I went to this pep boys, Kevin was courteous and helpful and I was in and out of there in quite a reasonable time and a very good price. I respect that no one was trying to upsell me for unnecessary service. I wanted to change the air filters on my car as well however they didn't have the parts, they said I could order them but they also said it's a very easy DIY process and not being of immediate need I agreed. Service at 3415 W. Burbank Blvd., Burbank, CA 91505 is HORRIBLE. I brought in my car for an oil change and noticed when I drove off a loud wheel squeak from my front left wheel when I accelerated. Drove back and Kevin (Supervisor) tried to assist but pretty much said you're stuck with the sound unless I replace my breaks, etc... I explained to him that the sound was not there before bringing it in. After a few back/fourths, TYRONE (mechanic) yelled at me, calling me an idiot, when I drove off. NEVER going back to that facility. Called KEVIN and explained on what happened. He didnt care. Just saying,"I was in my office so I don't know what happened." Then I asked, "Aren't you even going to apologize on how your employee spoke to me?" Yeah...its not really an apology if you have to ask for one. Very unprofessional. From all the other from here, this location is shady. SHOULD HAVE WENT TO THE: 6065 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606 location. Even though theres usually a wait, never had an incident with them. Just made the mistake in going to this Burbank location because they're usually not busy. Now I know why. Also, as a rewards member, I mentioned to Kevin that I had a rewards 30% coupon oil change and he said it was already factored in. My total was coming in @ $44, but after insisting he scan it, it went down to $34. Kevin also tried to say my cabin air filer was dirty but had it replaced six months ago. His reply was,"They do get dirty." His answer equivalency was the same as, "Oh you need an oil change at 500 miles." I especially passed on that. I understand this store needs to meet some type of quota, but sheesh. read more

I recently had the worst experience of my life with Pep Boys which started at this particular location. I had an item shipped to this location where I happily picked up and paid for. A few days later without having opened the box, in its exact same condition, I arrived to this location to return it. Understanding there may be a restocking fee or whatever the case, I was prepared for it. Ken, the so called manager advised me to go to the location on Olive because he was unable to process a return here. So I did. Fast forward following day, the Olive location Pep Boys turned me away and said to go back to Ken in Burbank and that he was mistaken about sending me elsewhere. At this point, I am frustrated. I returned to Ken and he now sends me to the Pep Boys on Lankershim in North Hollywood. Fast forward another day, the pep boys in North Hollywood on Lankershim turns me away and says Ken is the only person who can process this return and that they have spoken with him and he has promised to process the return. Are you kidding me? I cannot believe what they put me through. I felt humiliated, mocked and taken advantage of. I left the North Hollywood location shaking and beyond angry. Never again will I return to any Pep Boys location or recommend anybody to them. This weak excuse of customer service is beyond unbelievable and I cannot believe they can allow themselves to treat their customers this way. Was this a cruel joke? I have sent a formal complaint to corporate both in writing and email. I am not looking for anything special, I am looking for a favor. I was simply looking to return a product which I was entitled to within its timeframe. This was the worst experience I've ever been through. Please avoid! read more

I called to see if the store had any snow chains for my car, and if they could hold them for me.(Last minute shopper on a Thursday for a Friday trip) Jose said that he could only hold them for an hour, but if I order them online for pick up I could pick them up later. I did that, and also got a bonus 15% for ordering online. Jose went above and beyond by contacting me to let me know that he had one box of chains for my tire size, but would call me as soon as his shipment comes in with the other box. ( I ordered two boxes, total of four chains) Before leaving work that same day, he called to let me know he had both boxes ready. I arrived to pick them up and he had them ready for me. I needed my fuel pump replaced on my Saturn Vue and his team of mechanics did a fantastic job. Myron went out of his way and helped me in a HUGE way by discounting the repair job and helping me get a new battery. Not sure about all the hate these guys are getting, but I have always been thrilled with the service I've gotten here. They've serviced my car, mostly for general maintenance, as well as my boyfriend's when it basically died on him. He drove an Oldsmobile at the time (which of course is now very difficult to get part for) but they were so great about keeping us updated while the worked on his car and getting him back on the road. I never feel like I'm getting ripped off here. Everything they've found that needed to be replaced genuinely needed to be fixed because it hadn't been done in years. One of the guys even took me through my engine to help teach me about what to look for with my maintenance schedule. And I never feel like I'm being talked down to. Every woman's taken their car in the get fixed and had the mechanic treat us like a child, but these guys always respect me. That's so important to me, and a huge reason why I continue to take my car here. They're also extremely fast at getting things done. Never once has my car needed to stay over night, and the work is always done within a few hours at most. This is probably the best garage I've taken my car to, and as long as I live in LA I'll keep making visits to these guys. read more

I called to get a quote on how much it would be to replace my front brakes. They quoted me at $159 for their platinum package. I drive there during my brake and drop off my car to get them done while I go back to work. I get a call saying that my struts need to be replaced (blah blah blah) with this long winded explanation. Oh and guess what? Turns out they misquoted me for the brakes, it's now $189 to get them replaced. Of course it is. I said no to both the struts and the brakes. I go to another mechanic to get a second opinion for the struts and he says they're fine!! Oh, and when I went to pick up my car, all 4 windows were rolled down unattended.
