I had dinner here earlier tonight with a very good friend. They weren't crazy busy, and had plenty of tables & booths available. As soon as we sat down, our server stopped by to see what we wanted to drink. She then proceeded to bring chips with salsa, and my friend ordered cheese dip. The dip was delicious. She ordered shrimp enchiladas, and I ordered a shrimp quesadilla, which was so delicious. The shrimp were large, with no tails. I had never had that before there, and I was very satisfied with my meal. Our server was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I appreciated her being able to answer my questions. We will definitely be back there soon. read more

We have been eating here for almost 20 years. It was first Mi Mexico and then later Pepe's. Nothing obvious changed with the exception of the name. Same food, same staff. The food is decent and they get it to you quick and hot. That's where the goodness ends. The problem we have is there isn't a single nice person working here. Most of the time, they don't even greet you when you come in. After 20 years in a small town you'd think they would know us by name, yet they never even say Hello. They say "how many"? and walk off. You never know if you are supposed to wait or follow them? Our waitress just stood beside our table drying silverware and throwing it (loudly) into a caddy the entire time we were eating. We finally decided tonight that we are going to take our business to the other side of town. read more

As far as Mexican restaurants go this one is as good as it gets. Bottomless chips and salsa with entrees as well as a great drink menu to go with. In the summer sit on the patio to enjoy some live music. The food always comes out fast and hot. They also have very attentive staff that makes sure you always have a drink or refill when you want them. It is a very big restaurant so groups are always able to be accommodated. If you are craving Mexican food this is a great place to go. read more

Bland, bland, bland. I don't like it when I take bite of chips & salsa, a burrito, a chicken enchilada, rice and beans and can't tell the difference between anything. Maybe I should have tried the fajitas, they smelled good and might have had more flavor. The service was ok and the decor is interesting. But I would never choose to go back there. read more

Walked in at 9:30. Restaurant doesn't close until 10:00 and the manager said no problem even though they were cleaning the restaurant. He assured me it was alright to eat so we ordered. Complements to the kitchen. The soup and carnitas were very good. As soon as we ordered it was like a fire started and they rushed us through the meal and even paying the bill. Rattling keys, dirty looks, turning the lights off, etc. We were basically forced out the door into the dark to wait 20 minutes for our Lyft back to the hotel. The restaurant came recommended by the hotel staff and after driving all day we were looking forward to a calm dinner. No chance! Don't eat here. They don't deserve your business! read more

Only giving one star because I have to. I looked online to see what time they close and it says 10pm. I called just to make sure and the lady told me 9:30, we show up at 8:30 and she tells me that she can't serve us because they close in 30 minutes even though I called 5 minutes before we got there and was told 9:30. After living in the area for 3 years, My family and I had had dinner here at peak dinner time for the first time on a Wednesday. That said, you'd think the food would be fresh. However, our rice was crunchy and oily, the plates were super hot (microwaved), beans tasted like those from the can. The salsa tasted more like canned refrigerated tomatoes with cilantro. My floutas were overcooked, made with the wrong kind of tortilla, with dry, unseasoned chicken. The service was rushed and mediocre, I never received a refill on my drink. We had to track our server down a couple times for additional requests because he was constantly rushing through interactions. And when we were seated, the hostess grabbed menus for us and then rushed off towards a table. Mi casita off Georgetown Rd is so much better, and the people there are actually friendly and pleasant company. We won't be returning to this location, there is much better Mexican food within a 5 minute drive. read more

The service was fine, guacamole was not flavorful, and the chips and salsa could have been better. I ordered the pineapple fajitas for dinner and it came out in a very nice presentation. Let me start by saying I LOVE Mexican food. I could eat chips n salsa like it is my job! This is literally the only chips n salsa I have ever turned down. The chips were cold, tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. The salsa tasted like it was about to be out of date. I ordered a Mango FROZEN margarita which arrived half melted and tasted horrible. I then tried the FROZEN strawberry margarita which arrived with a then layer of ice on top of a warm melted margarita. I always order a Chicken FAJITA chimichanga & I specify that I want the veggies (just like the fajitas) but they always just deliver my chimi with plain chicken. I'm done with this place. Very typical mexican restaurant with typical menu choices. Food arrives promptly. Drinks are a bit watered down and poor beer selection. This is a lot like most authentic Mexican restaurants. You can find anything from nachos to steak on this menu. The walls, tables, and chair are brightly painted and colorful like an aztec murals. You can eat on their patio if weather permits or inside the regular dining area. They can accommodate large parties if need be. They also have a bar area and offer a large selection on mixed drinks and a handful of beers. The service is always fast and friendly. You are promptly seated with chips and salsa which standard for most mexican joints. Their food is fast and average. If you are in a rush during lunch, this is the place to go. read more

This restaurant is not the best. They microwave the food! I requested more water and I didn't get any. Nobody was even on duty. The employees were just in the kitchen do absolutely nothing! When my food first arrived I could tell it has been microwaved since the plate was very hot. I ordered a burrito and a side of rice and both plates were obviously microwaved! Never again. Ordered $44 worth of takeout and the 1st issue was absolutely no silverware. Id gotten the Pepes Carne Asada, really needed silverware. The steak had basically no flavor. No sauce or seasoning and was ridiculously chewy. I also ordered the sampler. My taquitos did not come with their dip and weren't good anyway. My allegedly Dr. Pepper was extremely watered down. So was the salsa. The only thing telling me that was salsa was the color and the fact it came from a Mexican Restaurant. The nachos with beef and cheese were acceptable but I've had better at fast food joints; the cheese was just meh. The quesadillas in the sampler were just this glob of unflavored cheese. I didn't even try the chicken in the sampler or finish my food.. I threw away like 60% of mine and my husband's meal. I don't recall what he got, but he didn't eat it. Pepe's was fast service; polite; good food. We were seated immediately; tasty chips and smooth salsa with nice hint of cilantro appeared out if nowhere. Great place for kids too. Sangia went down easy and they also serve Dos Equis. Plenty of food even on childrens menu. read more

My family and I were staying in Georgetown to visit the Ark and we all love Mexican food and saw a sign advertising Peppes so decided to give them a shot. The food was below par to say the least. I had the sampler and got food poisoning. The others in my party didn't but only ate a small amount of their dinner as it wasn't close to any Mexican food they've eaten before. While spending the night in Georgetown, my wife and I we decided to have dinner at this restaurant per the recommendation of the hotel. The atmosphere was a little different, food was good, margaritas were lacking tequila and the service was down right awful. I must say that most of the other servers we watched were doing a good job. Eventually I complained to the owner/manager about the service and got nothing but attitude. No apology, just through my check on the table and walked off.
