I tried their empanadas ($1.75), bandeja paisa ($16.25)and lulo ($3.75) which is sour apple. The lulo drink was creamy and cold, I haven't tried it before but I like the citrusy taste to it. I tried two empanada which was filled with creamy shredded chicken, very moist in a corn based empanada. It comes with green chili sauce that was not too spicy and lime wedge. I tried one of their most ordered dishes, bandeja paisa ($16.25), which is rice, lettuce, tomatoes, a sunny side up egg, a strip of fried pork belly, thin steak, a fried plantain, an arepa and a small bowl of beans. Very heavy meal that filled me up quickly. It seems to be family owned and the man was friendly. They have a few tables and a small parking lot.

Amazing! 10/10. My husband and I ordered 2 cheese arepas, 1 empanada, 1 lulo, 1 bistec, and 1 bandeja paisa. All under $50. The inside is small and cash only but the food is so worth it. It helps to know Spanish but the menus are in Spanish and English, so if anything you can point to your options. The lulo was so interesting- honestly it reminds me of orange Julius lol Seemed like a family owned business, an older gentleman helped us out. Very kind service.

Food is delicious and seems very authentic.

Food is delicious and seems to be very authentic. The location is open even though Yelp states it is closed. Service is also great.

Yes, get the Bandeja Paisa. Yes, get the empanadas. Yes, support the small hole in the wall business that grabs your heart strings the moment you are seated. You can easily tell it's family owned and with all heart. An amazing menu with delicious Colombian dishes and face it, we don't have too many Colombian restaurants in and around our neck of the woods. So this little place is a gem. The chicharron on that bandeja Paisa, alone with the rice, would make me a happy camper all day. Those empanadas, came out piping hot and fresh from the kitchen with limes and chimmichuri. Just heavenly. I'm disappointed I haven't found them sooner!

This place has been here for years, I've been to every other business in this strip mall but this one. Well scratch this one off the list too. Always looking for something different for my kids to try. They were game. Small little place. It was busy with only one mesera. She did tell us it would be a moment. Well once we placed our order it did take about 45 min and we got it to go. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa with carne asada. It was a strong dish. Little bit of everything came with it. I ordered a morcilla aka blood sausage. Haven't had that in years and it was good if that's your cup of tea. Other dish we ordered was the aroz con pollo and some empanadas. Food was good. Only thing in hindsight is I think we should of dined in. Because after waiting for our order we still had to drive home afterwards. That was are The service was great by the lone mesera and she helped us with the menu too since we were newbies. I will definitely come back to dine in and try another dish.

I have really been wanting some yummy Colombian food and peppe's did not disappoint. The empanadas were fantastic, wonderful texture.. crispy outside and nice and stuffed inside. Along with the empanadas they make a great ají "salsa" to eat them with. The papa rellena was fantastic. Maracuya drink made with milk is absolutely delicious. We enjoyed this place so much I know we'll be coming back many times.

Very good Columbian food! Only reason to try this cuisine was from Anthony Bourdain who went to Columbia and showed how they do breakfast. So I ordered the half chicken plate and bandeja paisa plate. Both excellent, loved their green fresh made salsa, beans were on point and the rice was buttery! Owner was nice and very cordial. Very small place for in restaurant dining. For the money, can't be beat.

Food trucks have been around for quite some time, but finding a cluster of them in a single…read morelocation in Riverside is rather new to me. On a sparsely traveled side street that separates the Target parking lot from the 91 freeway, is an attraction that will have you slamming on your brakes and craning your neck to see what the fuss is all about. The day we came, a Sunday afternoon, there were about 10 different, brightly colored trucks lined up along the curb, lights flashing, music blaring, and lines starting to form. You can park your car in the adjacent parking lot, there's plenty of room! Yes, this a very successful food truck according to Yelp. And by far the most patronized truck I saw that day. Inside the tiny galley kitchen are 4 hustling adults, including sweet Isabelle, the food ambassador of a husband and wife duo. I loved her enthusiasm and bright smile. At this point, I want to mention that Columbian taste buds are more finicky than many of their Central and South American brothers. So do not expect hot chile anything. Their palates prefer milder, not spicy foods, even though one of the sauces served with the empanadas was a garlicky, bright, herbal, oily sauce, not unlike the Argentinian chimichurri sauce. They call it aji (ah hē). I find it very addictive. Bandera Paisa - this is a combo plate that features a fat, Columbian chorizo (a non spicy sausage), a pile of moist shredded beef, a large strip of pork belly, white rice, Columbian red beans, a fried egg, avocado, and several pieces of fried sweet plantain. There is also one Cheese Arepa included. This dish can easily be shared by two and is a phenomenal deal and interesting taste adventure. Beef Arepa. This is basically a fried masa pocket substantially filled with their signature shredded beef, then topped with guacamole and white cheese. This is very similar to their beef empanadas, so I would encourage ordering one or the other, not both. It's big. Beef Empanadas (3). This is not your usual empanada. The generous beef filling is made from their sensational slow-cooked, flavorful shredded beef with a hint of corn and vegetables. The pastry is actually made of a coarse grained masa, formed into the traditional moon-shape, then deep-fried. It is heavier and far more filling than what I am accustomed to, but it has a chewy, coarse textured mouth appeal and rich flavor. One order is 3 empanadas. They offer an interesting variety of drinks, the most notable being their iced Columbian coffee (intensely rich, creamy, and sweetened) and a Passion Fruit Slushy that is an exotic fruity perfection. Both are pre-made and served out of a dispenser. Columbiana soda, plus other sodas and juices, are available in bottles and cans. The only downside is the seating. A few wooden tv trays and canvas folding chairs are set up on the uneven dirt adjacent to the sidewalk. It appears that using the sidewalk is off limits for seating. I loved their cute, vibrant Cuban music, but oftentimes it became overwhelming as it competed with another truck's equally loud Mexican music right next to them. That, and the seating, effectively convinced me that eating my food elsewhere was probably a better idea, even though sweet Isabelle was frequently checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Our bill was really reasonable, considering the amount of food we had. It was approx. $42, and there was plenty to bring home for another day.

The corn dough for these empanadas makes it extra tasty for me. Their arepas are amazing and I'm sure their hearty bandeja paisa is just as scrumptious. Ok, completely understandable, we wait at the bar for a bit. While waiting, I get curious and decide to check the online reservations, and see that there are actually a bunch of time slots open (7:00, 7:30, 8:00, etc etc). I reserve for 7:30 and let the hostess know, and she says "oh ok, I was going to give you that table anyway." A little weird that we were told they were completely booked? But ok, at least she was nice about it and we're happy to have a table. We sit down and the server tells us they're out of a few different things, including the chicken we want. Ok, fine, we settle on 4 plates that they still have available. 2 of the plates arrive pretty quickly and are pretty good. But at some point a large group comes in and the restaurant gets busier, and the rest of the food doesn't arrive. We finish the first 2 plates (including an entire whole fish, which took a while to eat), they clear the plates away, and we keep waiting for a long time after that. They eventually come check on us and ask if we need anything else, and I said we're still waiting for the other 2 items. They come back and tell us that those items somehow got put in out of order (?) and ended up behind the large group that came in after us (Clearly the order had just gotten lost). Eventually, we finally get the rest of our food, even though it's been like an hour since we ordered and we're not even hungry anymore. I thought they would at least offer to comp something as an apology for the insane wait (as most restaurants would), but no, they still charge us for everything. On top of everything else, as we're leaving, I walk past the large group that came in after us, and see that they're eating SEVERAL plates of the chicken that we were told they were out of before that group even arrived. I can understand honest mistakes or delays on a busy night. But never in my life has a restaurant made me feel so lied to and gaslit at every turn, whether it be about reservation availability, what dishes they were out of, or what happened to our order. And then not take accountability for anything. A truly one-of-a-kind bizarre experience. It's a shame because the food was actually pretty decent (and the only reason I'm giving more than 1 star). But it wasn't exceptional enough to make up for the service, or to give me any reason to come back.

Delicious Taste of Colombia in Rialto - La Paisita is a Gem!…read more I'm so excited that La Paisita just opened in the Rialto area because it is absolutely AMAZING. I ordered the bandeja paisa, arepa con queso, and empanadas de carne, and every single dish was incredibly delicious. The bandeja paisa was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented -- flavorful meats, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. You can tell everything is made with care and authenticity. The arepa con queso was warm, soft, and packed with cheesy goodness. And the empanadas de carne? Crispy on the outside, savory and perfectly seasoned on the inside. Honestly, some of the best I've had. I also tried their maracuyá (passion fruit) juice, and when I say they give you a HUGE cup -- I mean humongous! It was refreshing, perfectly sweet and tangy, and the portion size alone makes it worth it. Another standout was their version of pico de gallo -- fresh, vibrant, and so flavorful. It complemented everything beautifully. The ambiance is super cute and welcoming. The design makes it feel cozy yet lively -- a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal with family or friends. On top of that, the customer service was very pleasant and attentive. They really make you feel appreciated as a guest. Portions are generous, presentation is on point, flavors are authentic -- La Paisita is definitely a must-try if you're in the Rialto area. I will absolutely be coming back! Highly recommend!
