They are full of fat probably the worse and cheapest cut, beef probably chuck. You would think that in 74 years they would of learned how to properly marinade and tenderize meats. My first time ordering the short ribs. I was very specific when I place my order I asked for salad with the ribs only. It's unfortunate but Peppis was a disappointment. The burger I ordered lacked flavor. The chili cheese fries I ordered also lacked flavor. The dining room was small, dingy, very hot and had quite a few flies going around. I highly doubt I'll come back for another visit. read more

The first bite of pastrami was tough, I was pulling chunks of fat and gristle out of my sandwich. The mushrooms were not great either. Maybe remove the Chris burrous recommendation too, considering who he was I can't say I had high hopes. read more

***During COVID-19 Visit*** These galbi tacos are off the chain!!! Who comes up with bulgogi and fries on the side?! I ordered four galbi tacos and the bulgogi plate. The fries are the BEST! I should have ordered another side of them, but this is reason enough to return! It's messy eating with the tacos, but it's what makes chowing down that much fun! Service was fast and friendly, but I called my other in to avoid any waiting. Once I arrived, there was no line, but only about two folks dining. Used to go here like 30 years ago and decided yesterday that we needed to go back again. Drove all the way from Riverside and the pastrami was just as good now as it was years ago. Hot and juicy and the bread was amazing. The meat is sliced so super thin that it makes it even better! The fries were awesome too! Nothing even close to this good here in town. I read the negative reviews here before me and my boyfriend decided to eat here & I didn't think they were anything major so we tryed it out & honestly I love it. Now it is a little small & humid inside there was a couple tables that needed to be cleaned but the food was great. Sucks you have to pay for refills but not a big deal. The worst I've had in a long time. Aside from the people laying on the front table , the kitchen looked clean. We order the double cheeseburger combo and the teriyaki chicken plate. The burger is too dense, it was lean beef and over worked while forming the patty. It was over cooked and lacks flavor. Only could take a few bites. The fries were also over cooked and greasy. The Chechen was dark meat and some of the rice was hard from sitting in the warmer too long. The sauce was very watered down and almost flavorless. The cashier was nice, but another worker (female) was yelling like a hyena, fooling around, which echoed in the dinning area. Very annoying. We had to sit at the handicap table because all the other tables were dirty. Soda and ice on a couple seats, ketchup and sticky tables. The pastrami sandwich aka grinder. I ordered the 10" combo with fries and a fountain drink around $11.50. After the meal I felt I was full on only bread and French fries and washed it down with crushed ice. The reason(s): 1) The sandwich is 95% bread and 5% pastrami (please see pictures). 2) The fountain drink cup was filled to the top with ice so I ran out of soda after 3 slurps. I refused to pay the .25 cents for a refill fee!! Plus the pastrami meat is store bought. You can tell because it doesn't have any distinct flavor. No smoke, no spice, no nothing. It could be rubbery ham for all I know. I've tried their pastrami burrito that comes with cheese and chili. That was good. But I guess the cheese and chili made up for it where the pastrami couldn't. read more

My last visit the food didn't seem as good as it use to be. They have a great mix of American, Mexican, and Korean food. There bbq sauce is good and their portion sizes are large as well. They are the best in Fontana for burgers. read more

I go to Peppi's for a quick bite. The cheeseburgers are a decent size and they are delicious. I'm giving them 3 stars because the customer service is terrible. Every time I go, there is hispanic cashier who is so rude ( she did not have a name tag). It is evident that she becomes bothered when you ask questions or ask for condiments. It almost seems as if she hates her job. The eye roll says it all. If she was respectful to the customers I'd probably go there more often. read more

I watched the cook grab what seemed to be a ball of precooked dark brown hamburger meat (I should've cancelled my order when I saw that). The burger looked great. The fries looked like they were sprinkled with seasoning salt but everything was tasteless and bland. If I didn't know I was eating a burger I wouldn't have been able to tell by the taste. Service is excellent. The owners are so kind and friendly. Even the cooks always have a smile on their face. Food is good too. I've tried the Bulgogi tacos, Bulgogi combo with rice, Philly cheesesteak and burgers. All is really good. The double burgers are really large and could be shared. I haven't tried the Mexican food yet, but I will eventually. The fries are awesome, they are the crinkle ones. The are crunchy outside, soft inside. I do recommend this small business. read more

Wow, REALLY good cheesesteak!!! They stuff the soft roll with tender meat that's blended with tangy tasty cheese, and give a nice amount of grilled onions. I've also had the cheeseburger. When I opened up my burger, I was trying to figure out what was the deal with it. It looked different. Then I realized that they hand-form thick patties from good meat. What a big difference! It was also highly delicious. The fries are crinkle cut, and fried until they're done, not just pretty. Really yummy, too. I watched the cook prepare my serving of fries: he poured some fries into a large paper sleeve, then placed the sleeve in the bag with my burger. Then he scooped up some more fries, and poured them into the bag. Yes, I had starch overload, and I liked it! The first time I ate there, I ate outside on the patio. It was a warm evening in Fontana, but it felt good. They do have an indoor eating area if you prefer air conditioning. Counter help is smiley and friendly. My boyfriend ordered the pastrami burger and I got my baby the kids meal cheeseburger. We also had fried mushrooms as side order. Very quick in getting our order out. I can't say enough about this Inland Empire restaurant! The fries are pretty good but what keeps my family coming back is (besides the friendly staff) is the food. It's been years and trying to find a restaurant that actually can make a decent hot pastrami sandwich with everything I want on it. I first asked for rye (like it's supposed to be on) but they didn't have it and now they do! One day while waiting I read what else they had to offer and I saw they had a teriyaki burger so I knew what I was going to order the next time I was there and that day was today. My teriyaki burger was "SOMEONO" and if you are from Hawaii like I am you know it was delicious. We love going here. The people here are sooo nice.
