The food and drinks were great! The server was excellent. The vibes were fun. Honestly this was a peak Thai food experience and I would make this my go to spot for Thai in Ballard.

Compared to other Thai restaurants, this one was definitely different. Most Thai restaurants you can choose from what kind of protein you want with your dish and your spice level. This one you couldn't. Also the names of each dish was in Thai, so you had to read the English description for everything. The service was fine, we were seated fast, no wait and they answered any questions we had. The place was clean and well decorated, a little dark but it was still lit enough to see everything. Parking can be a little difficult and you might have to walk a few blocks to get to the restaurant. It's good for what they gave us, but nothing I would crave or anything memorable. The servings were also pretty small for the prices. If you're in the area, good place to go for some authentic Thai food but I wouldn't drive out of my way again.

Not your typical Thai restaurant!! Very unique isan style place in Ballard neighborhood. The place has a very laidback, low key vibe. My friend and I walked in on a Saturday night for dinner and were able to get a table right away. I ordered Gai Phad King which was a soupy stir fry with chicken, mushroom and it also came with rice. It was more like a stew - very comforting with a solid kick of ginger. Overall I liked it and I will come back to try more dishes from the menu. One thing to note: But it's not very vegetarian friendly. The menu is pretty limited if you're looking for meatless options but the service is great and staff is extremely sweet!

This is one of the most interesting Thai restaurants I've ever been to. I felt the need to try every special and yet the regular menu also looked stellar we picked a few dishes and were full to the brim. We will be back when we visit Ballard again.

Pestle rock is not your typical Thai restaurant, so don't expect pad Thai or red curry here! They do isan Thai cuisine so it's totally unique from other places around. I couldn't find an option to make a reservation on their website so we decided to try walk-in on a Saturday. We were seated immediately, they were around 75% full at that time. I noticed their menu has limited vegetarian options, I ordered the Guay tom yum. It was warm, comforting and delicious. The portion was huge and I had leftovers for next day. The dishes are reasonably priced and most of their dishes are priced between 20-25$.

Delicious and authentic Thai food! Loved trying Northern Thailand dishes and our favorites were the peek gai tod (chicken wings) and mee ka ti (thin rice noodles). The service was excellent, and the food took about 10 minutes to come. I love the atmosphere and the authenticity to every dish. If you love Thai food and trying new things, I highly recommend!

I checked out this restaurant with my family and we all loved the food here. The owner Pete explained that it was an Isan Thai Cuisine which is the Northeastern region of Thailand, so they don't serve the typical Thai dishes like Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. He also mentioned how all the dishes were his Mother's recipes and that she was the main chef/cook. All the dishes we tried were so good! If you love spicy food, then this is the place to be. Service was top notch because everyone was so friendly, but the food is definitely a must-try!

Got to try the Ba Mee Hang Mutoon and the Guay Tiow Ta Krai, and both were superb! The freshness of the ingredients really came through and the spice level was perfect.

What a homey, delicious, and authentic tasty IG Thai spot we have here in Ballard. Pete the owner has to be the most dedicated, friendly, and loving owner I've met. The place is underwhelming from the outside but when you step inside you and transported to a grandmothers home, a true Thai experience. The menu is large with lots of things you can't get elsewhere. The ingredients are fresh, and the spices are undeniably great! I highly recommend this spot and would come back!

So happy to find another great Thai place in Ballard! This place stands out because it's very focused on regional Thai food, from the Isan Peninsula. You should NOT get your typical Pad Thai or Pad See Ew because they have so many better items to try. We had no trouble getting a table for three and our food came out quickly. I got the Guay Tiow Lod, which was a soupy mixture of rice rolls and fried tofu. It was awesome, I loved the texture of the rice rolls and I had no idea this was a part of Thai cuisine. My table got two desserts and shared them - I thought the Roti Sai Nom was fine but the Khao Neaw Sang Ya Ka blew me away. The custard was sweet and savory and it was overall just a yummy experience.

Great spot for Isan Thai food! They have unique Thai dishes and prices are reasonable. We got the Thai pork jerky, Ka Nom Teen Nam Prik, and Gang Gae. Everything tasted great! The Thai pork jerky was flavorful and paired well with the Thai Sriracha sauce, the coconut curry in the noodles was balanced and fresh with the vegetables, and the lamb in the massaman curry was flavorful and tender. I really enjoyed all of the dishes we tried, and had some leftovers! I'd recommend dining at Pestle Rock, and I look forward to coming back to try other dishes.

Kao Soi may favorite go too!

Caught up with a friend fellow Yelper Marie B yesterday and we decided to meet at Pestle Rock one of my favorites in my neighborhood. my friend had the Kao Soi always a solid choice. I couldn't decide between two favorites so I got both knowing I could bring home leftovers. The Trout Tod Yum is a dish I had a few years ago when I visited with another and always cone back to it. it's refreshing like a fish salad with all the fresh veggies and herbs. Khao Klook Ka Pe is a newer dish to me that I had for the first time a few months ago. love how interactive and colorful this dish is you pour the caramelized pork on top of the rest of the ingredients mix it up and enjoy! Never disappointed with any dish I try here I know I really need to try more items on the special board. next time!!! Staff is always so friendly and the space is so cheerful with all the lights and plants. Will be back soon!!

Always a tasty selection with great service! I've enjoyed eating here every time I'm swinging thru Ballard!

We started with a Lilikoi Margarita and Ginger Martini as well as Fresh Garden Rolls, which were quite generous in size (4 large pieces) and very good. Drinks were very good! We enjoyed Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. Pad Thai is a staple and was good, but if you want something that has a ton of flavor and a nice mix of noodles and veggies, check out their drunken noodle dish Pad Kee Mao. Appreciate you can customize heat level as well. Overall the vibe in this place is awesome! We had hoped to sit outside, but didn't make reservations, so were sat in the back dining area. It was very hot back there - not sure that is an everyday type thing, but next time I go I would wait for a different part of the restaurant than sit there. Service was super quick and attentive!

I will say, they were playing insane music on a Monday at 4:30pm. It was just screeching EDM- so eclectic that Shazam had no idea what was going on. Made it hard to carry a conversation. Also, whenever it is someone's birthday, they do a loud performance that disrupts the entire restaurant. Fun for a weekend for sure, but not my vibe for a Monday happy hour. Always love their fresh rolls! Big and filled to the brim with goodness. Their peanut sauce is great too, though we noticed that the peanut sauce that came with the satay was much spicier. The drinks are great too. Lots of fun concoctions. I got the lilikoi margarita and was very happy with it. Our waiter was attentive but really didn't know how to use their POS system and we were there trying to pay for a while since he could not figure it out. If you want amazing comfort food, get takeout, if you like the party vibe, go in.

It is one of the…read morebest Thai restaurants in Seattle and is certified as Thai Select which certifies its Thai authenticity. They have locations both in Downtown Seattle and Greenlake, but I have only been to their Downtown Seattle location which has a beautiful view of the Puget Sound. The atmosphere is dark, trendy, and modern- perfect for a date night or nice evening out. While they are a white table cloth, sit-down restaurant, you can dress casually or dress up a bit - both are completely acceptable. This most recent visit I ordered the COCONUT PANANG CURRY with chicken ($25.95) and my friend ordered her favorite dish, SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE ($28.95). On a past visit, I've had their CLAY POT SHRIMP & GLASS NOODLES (KOONG OB WOONSEN) ($27.95) which was absolutely fantastic and has had me hooked on Pad Woonsen ever since! I saw the COCONUT PANANG CURRY recently in my Instagram feed and knew I had to get it. It is served in a whole coconut (yes a real, fresh coconut!) and comes with a champagne flute of fresh coconut juice from the coconut they hollowed out and a side of Jasmine rice. The curry was rich, flavorful, and full of Thai basil and peppers. The coconut juice was light and refreshing and a great contrast to the thick curry. The SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE (which I've sampled before), is gigantic, aromatic, and served with a giant grilled garlic butter fillet of salmon on top. The salmon is extremely moist, oily, and bursting with flavor. The rice is fragrant and has garlic paste, red bell pepper, carrots, and green onion. If you're looking for a tasty and protein-packed meal, this is the dish! Parking is honestly tough in this area as it's located on 1st. They have limited street parking and a few paid parking garage options around. I recommend light railing or Ubering here if you're not already in the downtown Seattle area. Service is always great and we always get our food quickly, no matter how crowded they are. The staff also take the time to check up on your table during your meal. Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

The place is gorgeous, especially the patio, and the staff were absolute pros at wrangling us to a table. The meal was a hit across the board: my husband's tofu curry and my daughter's drunken noodles and rolls were all fantastic. My fresh tofu soup was admittedly a bit "Zen" (read: plain), but I'm a fan of that understated vibe. The real star, though? The black rice pudding. It was so good I actually stopped to admire the decorative bowl it came in--a sign of a truly elite dessert. My son, however, ordered the fried chicken and was thrown into a brief existential crisis when it arrived with a sweet sauce. He was fully prepared for a savory-crunchy showdown, and the menu wording clearly didn't get the memo. He's still recovering, but the rest of us left very happy.

My boyfriend thought the sauce that came with the calamari was too spicy for his liking but for me it was super sweet and paired perfectly with the calamari. We enjoyed the appetizer thoroughly and I would say it was my favorite part of the meal. My man ordered his favorite Thai dish Panang chicken Curry spice level 1. He said his meal was delicious but big portion so we both took to go our leftovers. I tried the curry and it was super tasty. I ordered my go to prawns Pad Thai and chose spice level 3. The Pad Thai was delicious and large portion but level 3 was not spicy at all so if you love spicy like me choose above level 3. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were looking forward to the bold flavors we've come to love. The visit started off a bit oddly. The front desk server, Tar, asked to see my wife's ID--even though she's 36 years old and we weren't seated in the bar area. It felt inconsistent, especially since younger guests nearby weren't asked, and it's something we've never experienced at their other locations. Unfortunately, moments like that made us feel singled out, and honestly it sometimes feels like they tend to pick on Asians, whether intentional or not. That feeling alone made the experience uncomfortable and will likely make this our last visit to this location. That said, the table service was excellent. Moo took great care of us, and Cece from the bar was attentive and kept our water filled throughout the meal. Unfortunately, there were a few moments that took away from the experience. While I was taking photos of our dishes, a young staff member alongside Tar appeared to be giggling and mocking me, which made things uncomfortable. It may not have been intentional, but it didn't feel professional and only added to the awkward atmosphere we already felt. Food-wise, there were some inconsistencies. The chicken didn't taste as good as we remember, and several plates had visible fingerprints, which was off-putting. The galvanized metal plates also gave off a slightly unrefined feel--more like cafeteria-style serving ware. Additionally, the sticky rice, which is usually presented in a traditional bamboo basket, was served in a Ziploc bag, which felt like a downgrade in presentation. On a positive note, the papaya salad and pad Thai were still very good and delivered the flavors we expect. We'll continue supporting Isarn, but we'll likely return to the Kirkland or Lynnwood locations next time. Sadly, after this experience, this Queen Anne visit will probably be our last.
