0/10 experience. I am extremely disappointed with the grooming service at this Petco location. I clearly asked for some of my dog's hair to be left, and my instructions were completely ignored. They told me they were going to shave down a little but not completely. I was told my dog was "matted," which was not true at all. I brushed him thoroughly beforehand and made sure there was little to no matting. Despite this, they charged me a $23 detangling and brush fee, only to shave off all of his hair anyway, exactly what I asked them not to do. They charged me $123. On top of that, after the grooming appointment my dog now has redness and itchiness around his genitals, which is very concerning. I will never take my dog back to this location, and I would not recommend this grooming service to anyone looking for careful, attentive care for their pet. read more

We've been coming here for about 5 years. Location is great, parking is always open as it's not so close to Costco members parking. Customer service has always been great!! We were lucky to have been recommended by a family member to see Lynette for our grooming needs!!! Lynette is amazing!! She always takes such great care of our baby Loki!! He knows the drill and thankfully doesn't give her grief. Hahahaha!! She is very patient and loving towards our babies!! We just introduced Shiloh to Lynette & so far, as always, Lynette is spectacular!! Side note, we have had almost all the grooming staff do Loki's teeth & nails. With that being said, if Lynette is not available, we always choose to go with Danny!! Danny was recommended from a high school friend & he's just as wonderful!! I come to this Petco for the grooming services and for the past year or so I've been having my dog groomed by Cinthia and I can't rave about her more. She does his teddy bear haircut perfect and is so good with my anxious boy. I'm having a baby soon and she has been absolutely so thoughtful during my pregnancy and helping me prepare my dude with his grooming before baby's arrival. We went on Christmas Eve for some toys and we can see the dogs getting groomed and there was a golden retriever and a white poodle and whoever was cutting the white poodles hair was treating him/her bad the employee had red hair. The dog will barely move and she will turn him but in a very vicious way. I can the employee was already in a bad mood and was taking it out on the poodle. read more

I am a frequent visitor at this petco and have on many occasions also witnessed one of their groomers with red hair also abusing the dogs that she is grooming. I have seen this and personally brought it to the managers attention and it looks like nothing has been done or changed. So sad to see as these poor animals cannot defend themselves. Also the fact that this is something that seems to be accepted or condoned with this company I would not trust them with my family pets. read more

First time shopping at this petco location today because I was tipped off that a hard to find fish I've been looking for was available here. I had the absolute pleasure of speaking to Lizz, the department manager of aquatics. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, I was blown away! I had to compliment her on how clean the aquariums are and the top health all of the fish were in, I've never seen a petco aquatics section look this good!!! On top of that the selection of different fish was amazing!! I will definitely be making the 30min drive just to visit this specific petco, I wish they all looked like this!! read more

Max, our mini poodle had a terrible experience at this groomers yesterday. You can see the before and after math. I was told he was matted, which was not true, since I personally used a comb to thoroughly brush him. They shaved him almost bald! He came home with several burn marks, including his genitalia. They also charge mandatory "optional" (advertised as) at their discretion. How is something "optional" mandatory?! Btw, they charged over $100 for this groom. When asked to speak to a Manager, they send out someone who clearly was not. Please do yourself and your furry baby a favor and find another groomer. read more

Do not take your dog here to be groomed especially by Jerrad. Yuli the manager is also extremely rude. I paid $98 for a Golden retriever to be groomed. Apt time was 4:30pm Jerrad was not there yet so they took our dog back and said he should be there soon. The service was for a full de shedding bath and brush with furninator. Ear clean, teeth cleaned and breath freshener, ear cleaning, sanitary cut, nail trim and grind, paw trim, and a holiday spritz. I was told 3-4 hours. I was called just before 6:30 to say he was all done. I said wow that was fast are you sure he is dry? Jerad said yeah he is but just around his ears but he's under a dryer and will be done when you get here. I paid and the dog was brought out I asked how he did with the teeth brush and Jerad hesitated (like he forgot) and quickly said oh he was fine he just didn't like the taste. He looked ok and my young son was rushing me out. When we got home and I started petting the dog I realized his whole under coat was damp and wet where it's really thick. . He was shedding like crazy, as for the sanitary cut not only was it not done he still has dried poop on his butt. His paws were not trimmed he still has grinch feet m. they look the same as when I brought him in. Some of his nails were done his dew claws weren't touched at all. His breath stinks and I can scrape plaque off with my nail. So in essence I paid for a dog that is wet with some cologne and poop on his booty hole. I called right away and the nice lady in grooming said oh man I am sorry that was fast for him to be done. You can have a refund or come back in. I said I don't want to waste my time again I just want a refund so I can take him some where else. She said I agree and got a manager. Yuli who said I rang you up so I know they did the service so I won't give you a refund. After back and forth arguing I told her I would dispute the transaction and she said go ahead so I did. I then called back to see if another manager was there and got Jerrad who was also argumentative. Long story short that will be our last time. Pros: fully stocked shelves, great specials, clean store ONE BIG CON: such an unpleasant staff. Joel, im sorry but you were rude and unfriendly. While he was ringing me up, the cashier behind him had a question so he helped her her out with her register and her customer. Mind you - he is in the middle of ringing me up. Why is her customer more important than me? Why couldn't they wait until we were done? So I grabbed a buy three get one free and he rings me up for four. I told him he should be one free, and he said I had to be part of the rewards program. Well, why not offer it to me? Never made eye contact with me never smiled, just overall grumpy and in a bad mood. I work in customer service so I understand that sometimes things don't go as planned and he could probably be having a bad day but don't take it out on me. read more

I am not one to complain and I've never written a review before but this place is ridiculous. I've had nothing but bad experiences at this vetco. They are quick to take your money but don't help you when something goes wrong. My dog went in for an injury/growth on her paw. They took a biopsy and stitched her up, almost $700 later. They told me to take her back in a few days for a bandage change because she was bleeding a lot. Took her in to get it changed and it was not place on correctly. By the time I got home, the gauze was already moving. i got home from work and it was completely out of place, flopping as she walked. Mind you, I paid $100 to get it rebandaged, which no one told me there would be a charge to do so. I paid $100 for me to end up doing it myself. I spent days calling multiple times and sent a couple of text messages and nothing. It's disturbing and disgusting. This isn't the first incident I've had with them either. read more

It doesn't make no sense that they never have royal canine, French bulldog dog, dog food in stock. Every single time I go it's always sold out which doesn't make sense. This is one of the most popular dog food. They should have it overstocked because they know it's popular. Sometimes the service is good other times I'm dealing with attitudes. 12/29 I was on vacation and decided to take my dogs to this Petco for grooming. I usually shop at the Petco in Arizona, where I spend over $100 monthly on dog food. After this experience, I'll think twice about giving this location/ company my business again. I booked three grooming appointments through the app, and while the app rescheduled one of my appointments to a later time, I was fine with that. What I wasn't fine with was the blatant disrespect from the grooming staff. One of the groomers asked if I'd like to upgrade my dog's appointment from a bath to a full grooming session. I said, "Sure." But then another staff member came over and reprimanded me, saying, "I'll do it this one time, but in the future, you must book that online." Excuse me? The groomer suggested it! As if that weren't bad enough, another groomer started whispering, asking, "Are you sure you have time?" At that point, I said to the original groomer, "It's fine, just do the bath," because I didn't want to cause any trouble. She politely insisted she could still do the grooming, so I let it go. Meanwhile, for my other dog, who was only getting a bath, the same staff member who reprimanded me earlier told me I needed to pick my dog up at 11 because they didn't have enough kennel space. Fine--I told her I'd be back by 10:30 and walk around. But the attitude I kept getting from these groomers was unbearable. They made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome that I eventually said, "Just give me my dogs back," and walked out. This is beyond frustrating. I'm paying for Petco's so-called "premier vital care "which includes monthly charges, and yet your staff lacks basic courtesy toward paying customers. The level of rudeness and unprofessionalism I experienced was shocking. I expected better from a company I've supported for years. read more

Groomer had called because she was behind schedule, I had a 12:00 appointment and she wanted to push me back an hour. I would have if I lived around the corner... I live far were there is no Petco and the petco in Redlands treat customers poorly. I own a Giant schnauzer if anyone knows about this breed would be them the professional. As soon as I arrived, I have forgotten his shot records! I asked the lady could I have the vet email me copies and of course with an attitude I had five minutes. So I scrambling to get the copies. Once the vet verified he had shots, she proceeded to tell me that he was going to be cut completely bald including his face because he was badly matted. I take great pride grooming my Amadeus! The weather here isn't like the weather in Fontana we get snow and he needs his undercoat. I forgotten to brush him and he became matted not so bad that you have to cut all of his fur off. I had a certain cut and she wouldn't honor it. And what baffled me she was going to charge me more to cut him bald!. I offer to comb him if only she could cut his hair she denied me that. The manager Lynette said bye with a sassy attitude as if I was a rich person complaining. I didn't make a scene. The lady was upset that I wanted her to honor my appointment. Well appointment was canceled and I bought clippers and went home shaved my Pooch gave him a bath and this was the result. I'm no professional but the parts were she was going to shave only needed combing. I don't want an apology, that's a slap in the face. You want to improve your store start by getting rid of the problem or it's going to continue. I've been a loyal customer since I lived in San Fernando valley. Coming to the Fontana store well let's just say with Lynette and the other lady that was supposed to groom my dog won't be the last. To the public there are so many places you can go to have your dog groomed without the attitude. I don't like being laughed at. Saved the speech petco c , your employees just cost money. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE My review is for the Vetco service at this location. I have used their service for about 7 months now (also my dog's age) and they had made two mistakes. There's a part time veterinarian, so Vetco operation hours is inconsistent. I only found this out 6months in my dog needed a blood test for heart worms before being prescribe anything. He was being prescribe "simparica trio" before seeing a veterinarian for the exam. They fail to mention this during time he was getting his vaccination. The call center is not informative and constantly provides the wrong information. What they tell you through the phone is different in stores. Prior to this, I was given a tube to collect his stool for testing sample but was not provided shipping bag included in the total care package. I had to come back a total of 13 times & only 6 of them were required. The service is disorganized and the team that works here also operate around the Chino area. read more

I am not one to complain about employees working retail, I always have the upmost respect for them. However, when you come across a disgruntle employee like Beth it is plain sad and frustrating. This is the 2nd time I deal with Beth, Beth is rude and does not care about animals, she shouldn't be working at a pet store. I was trying to purchase prescribed dog food for my 12 year old great dane, I had NOT noticed his prescription had expired a couple weeks ago. Beth was very quick to point it out, which I did appreciate so I can go to his vet and get a renewed one.. however, she would not provide a one time courtesy given that it was 530pm on a Friday - my dogs vet closes at 5pm and they do not open on the weekends. My dogs food is very expensive and I like using Petco because I take advantage of the vital care program.... well given that this is the 2nd time Beth is rude and unprofessional with me I am done with Petco, I rather pay more somewhere I know my business will be appreciated but most importantly somewhere were my dog's need for food will be taken into consideration given the circumstances. I canceled my vital care as soon as I left the store, will not be doing anymore business with any Petco and will advice my family to steer away from doing business with them as well. I am not one to be irresponsible when it comes to my dogs prescription but life happens, I have an 8-5 job and small kids... I would like to believe that I am allowed to slip up once without my dog being punished for it. All I asked for... begged for was a one time courtesy as a loyal customer, my one free dog bag of food would had been validated if she would had allowed me to make the purchase, well I am letting it go to waste, do not care for it anymore. The first time I dealt with Beth was because of my great dane's prescription as well, it was not expired but apparently the way the card looked had changed and she wanted me to update it, she wouldn't sell me the food unless I updated the look of the card even though I never got a notification from Petco saying it was a requirement, my prescription card was not expired.. she was rude about it, left me feeling baffled due to how unnecessarily rude she was and turned me away, that is why I never forgot her... It is very true when they say that people remember you not because of what you said but because of how you made them feel. This was our first time here in a long time. We needed new identification tags and there is a large variety of options here. The sizes, colors, styles, and prices vary. The identification tags range from $8.99 - $16.99. First you select the type of tag you like from the display and go stand in line to purchase. Now your receipt has an activation code which you must enter before the machine will engrave. The machine goes step by step suggesting what to type and what font. The machine will have you proofread your typing twice prior to the actual engraving. The whole process is easy and fairly quick. I come to this location for convenience but after today I've had it. Starting with Beth tonight was the third time I've had to ask her for help and she's extremely inattentive and rude! When I asked for an item she just pointed off to the corner of the store like I'm supposed to automatically know what she's pointing at. I got the item thanks to another employee who happily walked me to find it. When checking out I asked cashier a question and he directed me to ask Beth which I really didn't want to ask her (& I shouldn't even feel this way) she told me to read the box as if I didn't already do that I wouldn't be asking! She's def not your typical Petco friendly worker I've been coming here for 5 years and I'm ready to do the extra drive for better customer service especially with how much I consistently spend .... There's also a cashier with a septum piercing kind of goth who's also super rude, never any help and always on her phone before ringing people up.. with the worst attitude! Came here today and this is the first time I have ever had a hard time purchasing a pet. I informed the associate Beth I already had all the necessities at home for the pet and she continued to insist that I needed to purchase a tank in order to be able to purchase the pet. She was very unprofessional and uneducated on the needs for the animals there. After waiting for about 30mins to get assistance, this was the help I received. I was very disappointed with their customer service. Definitely do not recommend coming here for any pets, now I understand why they have all their tanks full. Scheduled my dog for a grooming appointment . I was 15 minutes early, knocked several times, I was standing outside calling and no one would pick up the phone or open the door. Then finally an employee opened the door. My dog was fine until she tried putting on the leash , he barked. Mind you, it is our first time there but my dog has been going to the groomers for the last 4 years and never had any issues. I would say maybe 1 minute went by when the groomer female employee decided to refuse service. Didn't even try to make him comfortable or tried a different method. Just simply refused him. The worst pet adoption experience I've ever had...I just wanted to adopt a kitten for my son's birthday and the lady was just so unpleasant to deal with. She kept insisting I list my parents and get permission #1 I'm an adult and I own my house. Then she kept insisting that my kids don't live with me and wants to know both addresses of residence for them....so I let her know that I'm happily married for 10yrs and my children live with me. I've never had this hard a time with and adoption agency and I always adopt. We went back and forth for an hour so I just said forget it. I'm not sure when this happened, but this store carries Just Food For Dogs. It's real food, cooked, frozen, and packaged by a company in Orange County. I used to have it shipped to our house, but then my husband found a store that sold it near his office. This week was telecommuting for my husband, and the hounds were running low so we were pleasantly surprised to find a store that carried it closer to home. I stopped by on my way home from work and found the freezer at the back of the store and loaded up my cart. Also added a package of healthy pumpkin treats.
