This is a staple from my childhood. Is it traditional fish and chips that I'd get in England? Definitely not. Do I still love it with their red sauce? Absolutely. Just something about this place has me go on occasion when I'm feeling like I can tolerate fish/fry food as I tend to stay meat free post gallbladder removal. Always quick service and very friendly. Love the fun murals to great a fun atmosphere while you wait in their sometimes very long drive thru line. Don't forget to bring cash!

Seafood combo #1 - good deal & I like the patio seating

I read a few good reviews about this place and both are locals and figure now I will also add to the pile of good reviews of this establishment. I have seen this place when driving all over Phoenix, and last night when I was in Mesa and needed some grub, I finally stopped in. This is a family owned chain and operating since 1947. Its a cash only place and there is an ATM on premise. You order at a window, which reminds me for some reason of the beach towns back East. I ordered the seafood combo #1 which consists of 4 pieces of fried shrimp, one piece of fried fish fillet, some fries and comes with a 32 oz soft drink. Total came to under $12. The kid at the window initially said I had to order a drink separate after I asked about my drink and I had to tell him their combos come with drinks. He was nice about it and then told me that they must have changed their combo special. I highly doubt it, but whatever he says... I like that they have outdoor seating, patio covered. I did see mounted space heaters so that will be nice when it gets a bit chilly here. Overall, nothing to really complain about. All the food tasted good, there's also a special Pete's sauce which is kind of like Mambo sauce, I guess. While not the healthiest meal, it is a nice treat every once in awhile. And what's the point of living if you can't cheat once in awhile...

To say Pete's is a nostalgic fav of mine would be an understatement. My grandparents loved it, my parents love it, I love it, and my kids now love it! My friends and I used to frequent Pete's for lunch in high school as it was just down the road a bit from Mesa High. It was also our favorite spot after a weekend of shenanigans and sand volleyball. Lots of memories here!! Ok, now that I've walked down memory lane, a few important things to note: They ONLY accept cash. There's an ATM right outside which is nice. There isn't any inside seating, it's all outside under the covered patio and is well equipped with heater lamps during the winter and I'm pretty sure a misting system in the summer. Food wise, I have ALWAYS ordered the same thing: Monster Burger with Cheese, fries and extra Pete's Sauce. Anytime I go with friends or my family, they order various other items and I have never heard a complaint about what they ordered. On a scale of 1 - 10, I can't wait to take my grandkids here one day when I have them :)

Pete's has always been a staple in my family! It's consistently consistent it's always been the best fried shrimp ever! Shout out PETE

#1 combo, 4 piece shrimp, 1 piece fish, and fries. Side of onion rings, and last but not least, the rice crispy treat (half eaten)

I've loved Pete's my whole life! My whole family has been coming here for years and years. In my opinion, the one in South Phoenix is the best tasting. Don't ask me why, because I just can't explain it! I've been to almost every location in Arizona. I love that this Mesa location has a drive thru. I typically get the #1 combo, which is a 4 piece shrimp, 1 piece fish, with fries and a 32 ounce drink. The Dr Pepper here hits different, in the best way possible ! The food is just crunchy deliciousness! There is alot of patio room if you want to eat outside. The employees are typically friendly whenever I come. All the food is very reasonably priced. Other great menu items: super burger, burrito, onion rings. I tried the rice crispy treat for the 1st time today, and it was fantastic as well! Pete's forever!

Meh. Fish are square and WAY to over breaded. Clearly frozen. Totally underwhelming. Will not be back.

Just sad, the fish is just some odd patty. Fries were luke warm and soggy. It may be worth trying once but we'll never go back.

Almost like being in San Francisco! For dinner we decided to share a couple of things; the crab cakes, which comes with fried avocado and some of the best aioli for dipping. The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! We also shared the seared jumbo scallops...High Tides knows how to cook scallops to the best! So yummy and tender and perfectly cooked with that crispy outer and the soft, creamy inside. We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. Wife always asks for more lemon as well to drizzle over the salad. Overall a fantastic dinner for us and everyone with us!

It's like walking into a throw back time & also like your grandma's house. Dim lighting & cool light fixtures. It's super relaxing & chill. Our server came over right away. Hubby got the reuben & steamed spinach. I got the royale with cheese. The bread is really good. It's thick & soft. You get several pieces. Hubby loved the Reuben & the 1000 island dressing. The potato, leek, stilton soup was absolutely fantastic. I don't like blue cheese, but it doesn't taste like it at all. It's just a perfect, creamy, thick, cheesy potato onion soup with super fluffy and thick cuts of bread. The pasties are huge and can easily please two people. The Guinness Steak Stew was ok, it didn't have as deep of a flavor as I was hoping it would. My brother got the Mexican style one though and it tasted like a perfect chimichanga. The sausage was plenty and very tasty, though I'm not a big fan of the sage. Potatoes were good too, but I think under seasoned. Didn't taste the garlic at all really. I will be back for the vibes, and I would like to try more for their pasties (there's like 40 to choose from).

The burger was delicious, the Philly cheesesteak was fantastic, and the fries deserve their own shout-out. They're cooked in beef tallow, and the crisp on them was absolutely perfect. The onion rings were also delicious! They had an amazing beer special while we were there, buy one, get one for $1, which I believe may have been a Labor Day special, so definitely check before you go. But we were more than happy to take advantage of it! One thing I really loved was seeing the chef come out and make his way around the restaurant to say hello and check in with everyone.
