First time here! Had a quick late lunch with the hubby and thought it was okay. The service was great but some of the food didn't left us wowed. I expected more since this was one of Chase Sapphire suggested dining place, but as I've said food was okay. The real reason I tried Petit Trois is their escargot. Been craving on this for a while and decided to give it a try here, but it was nothing spectacular. Yes the butter garlic flavor is good but the escargot itself lacks the taste. But the baguette that comes with it is really good. My husband loves it. We also tried their seasonal tomato salad which tasted good and refreshing. It helped cleanse the palette. Their Pistou Pasta is good but eventually it tasted a little salty, but I didn't mind since I love the herb and minty flavor of it. For desserts we tried their creme brûlée and pistachio cake. Both are good options but too sweet for my liking. All in all its good to try this restaurant but I would probably try some other places as well.
I realized I hadn't had this burger for a long time and was determined to experience it again. It's a $40 burger so make sure you're hungry! All I can say is WOW. It's better than I remembered and will definitely have it again soon. Simply spectacular. It's messy, saucey and delicious. Duck fat fries and a soda topped off the whole thing perfectly. I was so sad it was over when I finished it. Service was also excellent.
My son and I have been to this lovely, charming, beautiful, clean restaurant once. It has so much charm and charisma with beautiful decor all around. A full bar and a nice sized patio. Two of my friends and I visited this restaurant on Sunday, the 9th of this month. Reservations are required, but we went in around 5:20pm and the restaurant was pretty empty. When we were leaving, the crowd started coming in around 7:15pm. They also serve brunch in the mornings (only on Sat/Sun). We got a very nice welcome from their hostess and she took us to our table. We ordered their French Onion Soup, Omelette-- that came with Black Pepper, Boursin Cheese, and Boston Lettuce. We also got their famous Big Mec Burger (Wagyu Double Cheeseburger, Bordelaise Sauce with fries. I love to have salad so much with my meal, that we also shared an Endive Salad that came with: Avocado, Anchovy, Walnuts and Sherry Vinaigrette. I told my server Karena & Rachel who replaced her when she went on break, not to put Anchovy on my salad. The dressing was well balanced. For dessert, we got Chocolate Soufflé and for cocktails, Adam, the bartender made delicious, not over powering cocktails for 2 of my friends. They were: Martinez Cocktail, and Hemingway To Your Heart. Even one of their managers Sierra checked in on us along with both of our servers. Shout out to the chef and their pastry chef. Food is super delicious, fresh and just yummy! Prices are not cheap, portions can be a little bigger. Only street and metered parking. Gender neutral restrooms were also very clean. It was a very memorable evening. They also have another location in Hollywood, if you are in that area. Thank you all very much for a lovely dining experience! Will definitely return, but not any time soon.
Stellar French-cuisine restaurant nestled on Ventura Blvd. I had a great experience dining with them. The food, service, and ambiance were all 10/10. Everything was amazing. Their bar is also really nice, if you wanted to do just drinks! Food wise, I highly recommend the tuna tartare, escargot, steak frites, and the cheese burger. For dessert, their famous chocolate cake.
We came for brunch. I recommend making reservations as this is still a busy place. We came early so I was able to score a last minute reservation but you should plan ahead - brunch is popular here. We got a lovely table outside. Coffee was good, strong and refilled often. The service was good but a little slow - again, they get busy. Everyone talks about the omelette and it IS good and also really beautiful. After a few bites though, it's a bit too much. A better idea may be to get the Omelette Petit Trois and share it for the table. It's also $29, which isn't crazy but is still a bit much for eggs. Even really pretty ones. My friend had the Croque Madame. It was also a gorgeous plate and he said it was, as expected, quite good. It was also $30. Both of these dishes come adorned with a sparsely dressed pile of lettuces. Very French, no? While the food was good, I don't know that this was worth the over $70 for brunch (with no alcohol) price tag. It's sure to impress your Francophile friends and I'm guessing it's very authentic. For me, it was a nice brunch but not special enough between the food and service to justify the prices.
The service was very good and the ambiance is ok but the burger the Big Mac as they call it was totally underwhelming. It tastes great but for a 38$ burger it's minuscule. If you're coming here for the burger like we did you're better off going to Hinano Bar in Venice or The Benjamin in Hollywood or Heavy Handed. Although it was delicious there wasn't much of it and it's not worth it. Their banana cream pie on the other hand was a much better deal and totally worth it. It eased the disappointment of the burger. Petit is the obvious word here and I would stay away if coming for the burger.
Had a good lunch at Petit Trois recently! I made a reservation a couple days beforehand for Monday at noon and there was plenty of availability. Parking is either valet or street parking. We got lucky with a metered spot just a block away. It was a holiday so it was free. The restaurant seating is split into two sides, with a bar in the middle. There's also some outdoor patio seating, but since the patio directly faces the busy Ventura Blvd, I think it should be pretty loud with the car traffic. We had a baby in a stroller with us, so when I made the reservation I requested a table with more space around it. We were seated on the right side, where there was plenty of room between tables. In addition to the all day menu (which is available on their website), they offer some lunch specials with salads/sandwiches as well as a lunch prix-fixe menu for $44. To start, we shared the chicken liver mousse ($17). I also shared the prix-fixe menu as well as the duck confit ($36) with another person. The prix-fixe menu offers your choice of salad, entree, and dessert. We got: roasted beet salad, steak frites, chocolate mousse. I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken liver mousse. It was extremely salty and comes as a THICK layer on the toast, so there wasn't enough bread to eat with it. I ate a little bit and brought the rest home to use it as a spread. I had some the next day and it's much better when it's spread as a thin layer on toast. The prix-fixe menu was good value and comes with plenty of food between the three courses. The beets were super fresh, though I personally found the flavor a bit too tangy. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and came with a LOT of fries. And the chocolate mousse with all the crunchy chocolate chips was a great way to end the meal on a sweet note. The duck confit was probably my favorite entree of the meal though. It was very flavorful and the outside of the duck was crispy. I also really enjoyed the thin sliced potatoes that came with it, as they had soaked up all the flavors in the juice and were delicious! My other friend is vegetarian, and there wasn't a ton of options for him, unfortunately. He could choose between pasta or an omelette. He got the pistou pasta for $28, which I tried a bit of and was surprisingly tasty. I completely blanked on this since the menu didn't mention pesto, but all the ingredients listed essentially add up to pesto, so it was a simple pesto pasta. Despite not having any protein, I found it super tasty and the pesto really fresh.
It's funny that I've been to the valley location of Petit Trois more times than the LA one in spite of where I live and work. Their patio is cozy (even in rain or a heatwave). The staff is very patient with allergies and the kitchen was able to adapt which is greatly appreciated. Love the trout almondine, fries are some of the best in LA (I mean they fry them in butter) and my friend absolutely adored the burger. For dessert there was seasonal peach sorbet (generous portion) that literally was just like eating a ripe cold peach in the best way. The only tricky part about this location especially at night is the street parking being limited (there is valet).
Great use of our chase sapphire dining credits! They let you split the check maximum of 8 times per table and you can split by dollar amount as well. Really enjoyed the escargot that comes with a warm fresh baguette. The steak frites was extremely tender. They let you choose between four types of dips for your fries including dijon mustard and garlic aioli. Service is quick and friendly. Upscale restaurant where you should expect to spend at least 50 dollars per person. They are popular so try to book a reservation ahead of time. Parking is also a bit difficult as there is no free parking.
We came for an early dinner while watching the World Cup. The restaurant was almost empty, so we asked if we could sit at one of the larger tables to comfortably watch the game together. We were told they were all reserved, so we ended up at a small table. Surprisingly, by the time we left, none of those tables had been used. The service was attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated, it really reminded me of a classic Parisian bistro. The food is on the pricey side. Our favorite dish was the steak frites. The burger was tasty, the escargots were just okay, and the cocktails were good overall.
Dined in on a busy night and got seated within 25-30 mins. Service was decent. Our server was attentive but I could tell she was overwhelmed. She was awesome nonetheless. Interior was very Parisian and quaint. Also, please note. This is a small restaurant and not stroller friendly. Let's talk about the food! Big Mec: 8.5 out of 10 I asked for well done and the meat was still a bit pink. But overall, i enjoyed it. I personally think this was meant to be shared lol this was so filling. The borderlaise was very rich and made the entire meal. Perfectly seasoned! I'd order this again Omelette petit trois 7 out of 10 I love how fluffy the egg was! This was a good simple dish which I thought was perfectly paired with the lettuce. It was a good balance of texture and flavor. Filet au poivres 8.5 out of 10 This wasn't my dish, but my friend really enjoyed it. She said the filet was very tender and the sauce wasn't overpowering, which allowed the steak flavor to shine through. She did mention it would've paired nicely with a roasted vegetable, but overall she really liked it. Napoleon 6.5 out of 10 The Napoleon was delicious. The Tahitian vanilla pastry cream was rich and smooth, layered between light, flaky puff pastry. The bruleed top added a perfect caramelized crunch that balanced the creaminess really well. Overall, it was too sweet for my liking, but not too heavy, and a must try.
Probably the most abhorrent service I've gotten in a while. The food helped it get 2 stars. I had a reservation for 2. Easily found street parking (because it was a holiday). Restaurant seems well decorated. We were sat almost immediately, great. We were sat in a corner table. Hostess said they would bring us water. No water. Our server Gabe comes. Gets our drink orders and says he will bring us water. No water. We sat for 15 minutes with no water and no one to take our food order. After the 15 min mark our server finally comes to take our order. We did the lunch prefixe menu for $44. I chose the: Boston Lettuce - all right. Nothing special. Seems kind of sad. Drenched in the dressing. Trout Almondine - good! Loved the almonds. Green beans were whatever. I felt a bit oily but I suppose that's how it is supposed to be. It was actually quite filling Choux chantilly - good. Not something I'd get again but it was light. I didn't eat all the cream. That was a bit much. The cookie part was the perfect texture. Alternatively, my husband got the: Steak Frites - he said it was good but so little meat. A LOT of fries to make up for the lack of protein so that was disappointing for him. I tried the fries. Lightly salted. Not bad. Chocolate mousse - OMG THIS IS SO GOOD. AMAZING. would come back for this. It's crunchy, and they weren't stingy with the crunch. Not overly sweet, but sweet. So, so soft and creamy. Other items I tried: Vanilla latte - good. They even gave a cube of sugar if you needed it sweeter Fleur & Tonic - I really enjoyed this. Was it worth $15? No. If it was cheaper, I'd get it again. Good if you want a refreshing drink. Lunch should take 40 min. An hour if you're chit chatting with friends. We stayed an overwhelming 1 hr 20 minutes and that's because we tried to rush at the end. After we got our salads, we yet again sat there a while with nothing to do. They took our empty water bottle and said they would bring more. It didn't come. I finished my coffee. When the main course arrived, exactly 50 minutes from when we first sat down, I immediately asked for the dessert. And water. When the dessert came, I ordered another drink. When the drinks came, I asked for the check. I had to keep asking because it was taking too long to get any service. I was very tempted to wave my arms around to call someone over, but I also noticed the servers all seem to look down at the tables/plates and not the people themselves. So overall, we got out after 1 hr 20 min because we rushed it. That was ridiculous. Would not return. I think maybe just our waiter was bad? I noticed the bus boys were quite fast and efficient at cleaning up. I saw another waiter interacting and checking up on his tables quite often. I don't know how they separate tables but the experience was definitely terrible.
So very disappointing... Brought my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner, and I'm genuinely disappointed. Reminded me why I leave reviews. Currently up at 5am with stomach discomfort from this meal. Let's start with the food: Appetizers: French Onion Soup - 2/10 (GF rating 7/10) I've had this before and didn't care for it--tastes like watery broth with onion, soggy croutons, and cheese. For ~$25, not worth it. Girlfriend thought it was one of the better ones she's had, mainly for texture. Escargot - 2/10 (GF rating 4/10) Not my thing, but the sauce was weak. I've had better at Le Bouchon in Chicago. Baguette was fine but underwhelming. Girlfriend said it was okay, biggest escargot she's had, but also lacking flavor. Serving in shells was nice. Crab cake - 1/10 (GF rating 1/10) Just bad. Rubbery texture, hard to cut, not the usual flaky crab cake. Inside lacked flavor. Sauce was good, dill helped slightly. For ~$28 for one, avoid completely. Mains: Steak frites - 2.5/10 (GF rating 3/10) Cooked medium. Meat quality was bad--very chewy. Ate one piece. GF didn't like it either. Sauce was herby and buttery but underwhelming. Fries were good, large portion, no proper sauce pairing. Big Mec 4/10 (GF rating: 2/10) Basically a burger with homemade A1 sauce. Not asked for temp; came medium, which doesn't work for thin patties. Chewy and forgettable. Wouldn't improve much even cooked better. Sauce was decent for fries (which were good). GF said it tasted like A1. Better off getting a Big Mac from McDonalds and saving money. Dessert (WOW, IN A GOOD WAY) Chocolate soufflé - 7.5/10 (GF rating 10/10) Really good. GF would come back just for this. Great crust, gelato, and chocolate sauce. Slightly spongey inside for me, but still very good. Crème Brûlée - 8.5/10 (GF rating 6/10) Excellent. Crunchy top, very creamy base. GF just doesn't like this dessert in general. Highly recommend. BIRTHDAY COOKIES - 6.5/10 It was my gfs birthday and we were charged $6 for cookies we didn't order. Decent cookies, slightly salty. Charging for this is ridiculous--should be complimentary, especially after ~$250+. Service - 7/10 Started slow, waited a while to order while others were checked on first. After ordering, service improved a lot: attentive, refills, clearing dishes, friendly staff. Ambiance Quaint, not loud, small seating area. Easy to talk. Outdoor seating available but near a busy road. Price Overpriced. Apps ~$26, mains ~$42, drinks expensive. Bill was ~$260 before tip. Would not come back unless just for dessert.

First time trying this restaurant and I was amazed by their taste of Duck confit and Steak frites and Onion soup. Duck confit was really good with sweetness from balsamic vinegar sauce and sautéed potatoes with tangy salad. Duck was tender and seasoning was right on the spot. I got my steak medium and it was delicious as well with French fries. Beef was tender with right amount of seasoning that I preferred. Onion soup had a lot of breadcrumbs with onions pieces and tasted very good along with melted cheese on top. It was warm and comforting soup for cold night. The set up of this place was just like the Bullion restaurants in Paris. Semi-elegant vibe with French paintings on the walls. Feels calm with dimmed lighting with soft music in the background. Fast service provided by the staff and friendly and attentive to customers. I'm glad we picked this restaurant because it reminded me of being back in Paris for a change of dinning experience in LA area. read more

Since I live in the neighborhood I come here every few months. It just keeps getting better and better. The service is always hands down exceptional. Some of the best I've had the good fortune to experience. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting. Don't be surprised if the table next to you chats you up. One of the things I like best is you can dress up or come in yoga pants and sneakers and it makes no difference. You should always start with a cocktail. The speciality cocktails are not to be missed. On a recent visit, I had the best G&T I've ever had and I've been drinking them for decades. The wine list is consistently epic. In addition to the beloved because Big Mec burger served with the best fries in town, some other favorites are the chicken liver mouse, steak tartar, the pasta pistou, French onion soup, the croque madame, the steak frites, the baguette, and most recently the fried chicken. The fried chicken is the absolute BEST I've ever tasted. With the option of adding creme fraiche and caviar, it's absolutely spectacular. This is a specialty item just for the month of December 2024, so act fast. We always have a great time here and are always happy to come back. read more

Came here for my anniversary & loved it! Would definitely come back for another special occasion. This was my first time trying escargot and the seasoning was delicious. I loved my steak frites and the big mec was delicious & filling. We still made room for dessert because we could not skip on the crème brûlée. The service was also great. Our server made sure we were well taken care of. I love finding gems in the valley! read more

Our first stop on Halloween night was dinner at Petit Trois, and it was absolutely magnifique. We began with the Chicken Liver Mousse and Escargot. Both exquisitely prepared and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we enjoyed the classic French Onion Soup and the indulgent Big Mec. Every bite was delicious. I've always loved French cuisine, and Petit Trois captures it beautifully...from the ambiance and service to the impeccable presentation. Valet parking is conveniently located just behind the restaurant. A truly delightful dining experience every time! read more

It's been so long since I've been here and the last time I went I had a French omelette and the cheeseburger. We went back a few weeks ago on a burger crawl! The burger is still insane and probably the best one we had when we were in the valley! This is absolutely one of the finest restaurants in L.A. The food is outstanding as is the friendly and knowledgeable staff! The chicken liver mousse with balsamic onion jam served on country toast is superb, the steak frites was cooked perfectly and the fries were skinny any crispy. Wonderful! You can't go wrong by starting your meal with a warm baguette served with real French butter. On another night , the steak tartare, the Boston lettuce with Dijon vinaigrette and the mussels mariniere were all delicious. The bread pudding with rum gelato and raisin butter sauce you should splurge on. NO excuses! The bartenders and the wait staff are all well trained and really take care of the customer. Congrats to Spencer for steering the ship and ensuring everything about the restaurant is memorable! 5 Well Deserved Stars. read more

Delicious! Interior on an evening is extremely cozy. We had the tuna tartare, french onion soup, baguette, butter lettuce salad, beet salad, trout almondine, and bucatini. For dessert, the banana cream pie, chocolate souffle and apple tart. It was all exceptional! The pasta, beet salad and tartare were highlights for me. We had excellent service as well. read more
Been driving past Petit Trois for a long while now and decided to finally try it out for my husband's bday. This swanky French restaurant was very classy and we loved the vibe. Took a minute to actually get us seated (even with a reso); we spent a good 20-25 mins seated at the bar while the staff waited for some lingering patrons to leave. The waitress was incredibly apologetic and the bartenders were kind while we ordered a drink during our wait. Once we got seated and ordered our food, it did not disappoint. We started with the Burgundy Escargots (comes with a baguette) - delish. For mains we got the Pistou Pasta (their version of a pesto sauce pasta), and the Big Mec. The burger was insane in a great way - had no idea it was gonna come served in a pool of their "special sauce". The pasta was sooo good; rich but fresh, and don't let the portion size fool you - it was so filling!Our waitress was great! She even brought out a delish tangerine sorbet on the house for my husband's bday. Valet is avail ($15 I think?), otherwise, find a meter. read more

I found myself in the Valley one weekday and dropped in here, having recently had a very good lunch at the original Hollywood location. It was "linner" time, 3:30 pm, so the restaurant was almost empty. I was pleasantly surprised this Valley outpost offers a weekday lunch menu identical to the original location, but it's not shown on the website. The lunch menu has the same 5 offerings (including sandwiches like jambon/beurre, croque monsieur/madame), plus the identical 3-course prix fixe option, both offered until 4 pm. The Valley also has a weekend brunch menu 8am-3pm. The Valley spot has a much larger indoor dining area vs. the original, but the outdoor area is smaller. Inside, there are 2 dining rooms plus the bar that also has a few seats facing the open kitchen. I opted to order off the all-day menu, which is slightly larger vs. Hollywood, with snacks, an additional salad and a few more entrees. Prices are the same for identical dishes. For a snack I got the eggs mayonnaise, which are deviled eggs, and they were fine. My appetizer choice was the leeks "fondant". The dish had a very green and white, somewhat bracing sauce (vin jaune + leek oil) plus hazelnuts; the leeks had to be cut "with the grain" and were therefore a bit stringy, but tasty. My entree was the Heritage chicken, a roasted airline chicken (breast + drumette) served with pommes paillasson (like tater tots but in a bar shape) and a simple salad. Moist and delicious. For dessert I chose the profiterole trio, 3 choux pastries filled with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry gelato, topped with chocolate sauce and almonds. It was a very generous dessert. There was a staff shift at 4 pm. Both servers were very friendly, but service became more sparse latter in the meal as more guests were seated and there was still only one server. Overall another very good meal. This Petit Trois is more comfortable than the Hollywood location, but much further from home. read more

Love love love the ambience here, it's intimate and tastefully decorated. I tried the duck here and honestly think about it a lot. The presentation was beautiful and the sauces/cream it was served with complemented the meat very well. Service was also great and no complaints here. read more

Update: I just went to reheat my leftovers and was surprised to find that two of the items packed up were not ours--and had already been eaten from. This was an unfortunate and concerning mistake, as proper food handling should always be a priority. I wanted to share this in hopes that it's addressed, as attention to detail is essential in providing a great dining experience. It was my first time dining at Petit Trois. As we approached, we noticed a crowd waiting outside--always a promising sign and a testament to the restaurant's reputation. My wife had made a reservation well in advance to celebrate a friend's birthday, an occasion we had all been eagerly anticipating. From the moment we stepped inside, the service was impeccable. The hostess, manager, and runners were all attentive and professional--exactly what one would expect at an establishment of this caliber. Given that this is not an inexpensive restaurant, and it holds a spot on Jonathan Gold's must-visit list, the level of service should naturally reflect that. Our server,Payam, was warm and charismatic, which set a great tone for the meal. After receiving our first courses--a salad and a soup--we made it a point to inform our server that we were on a time constraint due to a scheduled appointment as part of our planned festivities. We did this well in advance, at least 45 minutes before we needed to leave, to ensure there was ample time for accommodations. He acknowledged our request and assured us that it would not be an issue. The food was nothing short of superb--elevated, well-executed, and reminiscent of the finest bistros in Paris, one of my favorite places to visit every other year. Everything was seamless until the end of our main course when an interaction with our server left us unsettled. As he was clearing our plates and boxing some of our leftovers, I politely asked if I could order another cappuccino. Rather than responding with a simple "Of course, let me just finish this up for you," or something along those lines, his tone noticeably shifted. His response was curt, something like, "I'm going to pack this up first, and then I'll come back to take your order." It wasn't just the words--it was the delivery. He seemed annoyed and overwhelmed, which in itself is understandable in a busy restaurant, but the way he directed that frustration at us felt dismissive. I couldn't help but notice a stark contrast in the way he interacted with the table next to us, which consisted of a man and a woman. There was no way he would have spoken to that gentleman in the same manner. Normally, I would brush off a minor lapse in service. However, given the price point, the prestige of the restaurant, and the fact that we were there for a special occasion, I expected more. Dining at a restaurant of this level is about the full experience, not just the food. Supporting local restaurants is something I take seriously, especially considering the hardships the industry has faced, but it's difficult to justify a return visit when the service leaves you feeling disregarded. That being said, the manager was an absolute professional. She delivered the level of service that a restaurant of this reputation should uphold--attentive, polished, and genuinely hospitable. When it came time to settle our bill, she assisted us, ensured we received our cappuccino to go, and left us with the impression that she truly valued our business. Unfortunately, when our server brought the cappuccino, his demeanor remained unchanged--still visibly annoyed. It was not the ideal way to send off first-time guests. Even if he was overwhelmed, there's a way to communicate that without making guests feel like an inconvenience. I can't imagine that management nor the owners would want that to be the lasting impression of the restaurant. read more
The atmosphere is straight out of France - a beautiful old world brassiere. Heavy table linens, lovely stemware and flatware. The servers were a perfect mix of warm, friendly, and professional. Their uniforms underscored this image - down to long aprons. Food service was flawless, as was the taste of everything we ordered. I had the opportunity to speak with the charming owner/ chef about the endive salad, praising the dressing. I asked him about the source of the olive oil, and he unhesitatingly showed me the bottle. The food. How can a ham and cheese sandwich and salad be so memorable?! No really. It was THAT good. Just the right amount of French ham and butter on a crispy baguette. All of the ingredients had a place to shine. The fries were hot, crispy, and lightly salted. But the salad... oh that salad. I don't think I can rave about this place anymore. It is one of my favorite restaurants and it is literally my husband's favorite. He doesn't get excited to go anywhere except Petit Trois. Ambiance and service here has always been lovely. Even if we call last minute, they truly try to do anything possible to get us a reservation and it's greatly appreciated, never experienced such effort anywhere else. Now our favorite thing about this place is the FOOD!! We have such a difficult time getting our order ready for the waiter because we always want to order the entire menu! We came here today for mother day lunch and my mother in law is diabetic so we have a lot of food restrictions and it's typically very difficult for us to find a restaurant where we can take her out. It was so nice to have something close to home and have such a great menu variety not only for us, but especially for her. She had such a lovely time, I think this became her new favorite spot as well :). We loved absolutely everything we had here, I was so so happy after such an incredible meal. I had been away for a handful of months, so coming back for the holidays & spending NYE here for dinner was the perfect night back in LA! Every time I pop in for a meal at this elegant location, I'm always so happy. The menu has wonderful choices to give any diner something delicious to eat. One thing that's always important to me is a delicious wine & cocktail menu & if there are seasonal choices, I'm in heaven! I love Petit Trois's bar menu & on this last visit, I had the Fleur Du Mal which was amazing. The server was very friendly & knowledgeable on menu items & was able to suggest just the right thing for me based on what I was craving for the night's cocktail celebrating the New Year. We had different waitstaff delivering items to our table & each & every one of them were very polite & asked if we needed anything else. My son ordered 4 entrees for the 3 of us to share: trout almondine, omelette petit trois, pistou pasta, & the big mec. He had originally added steak frites & when it wasn't what he had expected, they were happy to take it back & bring the big mec, which I thought was very generous & caring they wanted their patron to be satisfied. For dessert, we had profiterole, which was absolutely delicious! The ambiance is always amazing here, whether you're sitting inside their beautiful interior or out on the lovely patio when the weather is nice. I made a reservation for lunch the day after Christmas. Rainy day I figured it wouldn't be very packed ... I was wrong! There were a lot of people waiting in the entrance but we were seated right away! The menu is small but personally I think that is a plus ... it means they have perfected each item... which is definitely the case here at Petit Trois. I ordered the Boston Lettuce salad with the dressing on the side. At first I was a bit puzzled. There was only plain leafs of lettuce on my plate. I started to eat it and was flabbergasted but how delish it was! It seems like they only added maybe a bit of salt and pepper but boy was it delish! I took this with a grain of salt though as it was holiday season and I was definitely veggie deprived. Next up ... the jambon beurre sandwich. When I ordered it I asked if they could switch the honey butter with regular butter but the waitress informed me they were not able to make modifications. Slightly disappointed (but I understand) I ordered it anyways and it did not disappoint. It was a little too sweet for my taste but the meat and cheese were too notch. We ended with the soufflé (which takes about 15 minutes to make so order ahead if you're in a rush) It came out with chocolate gelato and chocolate sauce. Again I was slightly disappointed as I am a huge fan of the homemade whipped cream soufflés tend to be paired with. After my first bite ... I was in heaven! A must to end your meal when you cost this quaint cafe :) Minus one star because the French onion soup was just ok and it was more expensive than some of the entrees. :( read more

Can't seem to steer myself away from the Petite Trois Omelette. It's coz it's so simple and so good. Classic comfort food. The Almondine Green Tea was aromatic. The Baguette was great, the butter was even better. Their Grape jam is the only jam my kiddos actually tried. Surprisingly, they REALLY don't like jams. Chocolate Croissant is appropriately flaky and buttery. There was no line to get in and the place was not even half full, but hostesses had to check if they had space for us. Apparently, there is a large group arriving at the same time and occupying the multiple/various spaces of the restaurant and we were lucky that they were able to squeeze us in. Making reservations before you visit will save you from that particular anxiety. read more

Is the 18% service charge on our bill the tip or do we have to tip on top of it. The hostess said it wasn't the tip which means we paid 38% of our bill, seems a bit high?
We were there a few days ago and noticed the 18% on the bill. We considered that a tip but gave a bit more on top of that- but that is optional.

Petit Trois on Highland does not allow corkage but the new location in Studio City allows a maximum of 2 bottles per table at $25 each.

Cut off time for breakfast menu is 12 pm but the weekends lunch menu does have some breakfast options.
