I have only been twice to get my puppy's hair cut/groomed and both completely different experiences. First time was so excellent it made me want to go back. They were super nice gave me the pamphlet on how he had behaved, and his trim was adorable i was able to see his eyes. 12 dollars I thought not bad at all. Only waited an hour too. Second time. Made me not want to go back. I made an appointment again and had my brother drop him off said they didn't know he was getting a cut and had no record of him ever getting one and said that I would have to wait 5 hours. I thought they might be busy it's understandable. This time i went to pick him up with the one of the girls still trying to tell me he had not gotten his haircut there after that he only got a bath? She was already ticking me off. Its not my fault they didnt record it and shes still giving me attitude? Had to pay $48 since it wasnt a "basic cut" BUT his hair was horrible!!!! FIVE HOURS for him to get out looking this bad was not worth the money nor the wait. Also told me he misbehaved which was also different from the first, must have been her bad ugly energy. Gotta "Kong" dog collar earlier today. We put the collar right after. After an hour, we notice the collar was not on and found it in the back yard. The attachment was broken. We also saw the was a bite mark on the collar. Called Petsmart and because the dog "chewed" the collar, couldn't return it. I get it being a store policy about chewed items, but after an hour with a broke attachment, that's really cheesy. read more

Which was a awesome groomer to my dogs she had been doing them for 10 years because she started in Rancho and I followed her to summit. I knew better, I really did, and I have no one but myself to blame. Myself and the groomer who manhandled my poor cat and put the bow on so tight that her skin was being pulled. Never again. I watched the brushing process and I was horrified that they would be so rough. They clearly don't love animals like you would hope a groomer would. Yesterday I got my French bulldog and decided to go grab some stuff. I went in thinking I knew what to get and boy was I wrong. When I go to the register I was greeted with the biggest smile from a gentleman named Ivan. He asked me did I find everything and I said I thought so. As he began ringing my items he noticed I had the "kit" lol where you get all new stuff for a new dog. He asked me what kind of dog did I get and I told him a Frenchie. He told me that was his favorite dog and asked if he could be honest. I said of course! And he told me I didn't need half the stuff lol I told him thank you for being honest because I had no clue. He's was so sweet about it and also very funny and I really appreciated it!! It made my experience so much more fun :) he saved me tons of money lol and I got the items that I actually needed. Well I took my dog in for a grooming, I ask for a type of hair trimmed it wasn't what I expected. They charge me 100 they trim his parts not like I ask them to.. he had spots where they didn't trim him right, and they went too far like they accidentally went too far my dog had a rash on that spot of his privates I had to purchase a cone to keep him from licking, and making it worst I couldn't let him go outside because the heat made it worst, they got the skin with the trimer ,Never again ‍. They are nice people that's why I'm giving them 2 starts, and one more for management but a professional will charge me 120, and do a great job... for 20 bucks more I can got my dog trim by a lady who does a better job!!! She is located here in Sierra lakes, and she comes to your house, beats taking him to get a half job done, I'm so disappointed in pets smart right now not because of the grooming but because they didn't tell me they went too far on a trim I get accidents happen I deserve a refund .. because 2 weeks after his privates got better so 4 weeks later I give pets smart a second chance I let them know what they did and they didn't give me a refund notting.. and another 100, and his hair was not trimmed right I give up never going back I told all my friends who have dogs like this to go somewhere else‍.....this lady came, she does it in 2 hours considering the amount of hair my collie Dog has.. In the 2nd picture the lady who I hire to fix him did a amazing job. And she came to my house .. with the heat my dogs happier. So I spend 220 in the end ‍do you research. PETSMART DOG TRAINING IS THE BEST! This is our first time trying this place out for puppy training and we have been so happy with the results! We have tried other pet stores and none compare to our experience with Sam and her classes. Sam is patient and kind and uses positive reinforcement, she has many certifications to her name which make her a puppy expert and she also goes a step above and beyond and is always willing to work with your puppy if they still aren't quite "getting it" yet. Petsmart also allows the trainers to work with your schedules and is willing to let you come to a FULL make up class at a different time Versus other places which only offer a 15 minute review of the class you and your puppy had missed. As far as the age-old comparison between Petco and Petsmart... I'll break it down in simple terms. Petsmart (North Fontana) seems to have more foot traffic than Petco (North Fontana) probably due to the lower prices - though I hear the grooming prices at PetSmart are more costly. One thing I don't like about this PetSmart is that they're not quite as efficient at stocking items that sell out or are low-stock. I see items out of stock for weeks before they're replaced at PetSmart. Both stores sell birds, reptiles, fish, Guinea pigs, mice & rats (though Petsmart also sells rabbits while Petco doesn't). Both offer frozen rats & mice for snakes while Petco prefers NOT to sell live rats or mice as feeders. Both stores are generally clean and well-kept. Parking is ample at both locations, but the PetSmart is right next to Stater Brothers, Target and Yogurtland - which is nice. Both have low-cost shot clinics but PetSmart has Banfield Veterinary Hospital right inside the store (hi Alex) which is very convenient. I must also add that the management staff at this particular PetSmart are quite nice and good at their jobs. read more

Decided to stop in this location since I was at Chili's across the street. They had a good supply of the doggie treats my beagles asked for, so kudos there! The associate ringing me up was very friendly, so more kudos there. But I always compare the various stores to our all time favorite location in Ontario, and there's just something a little off, maybe it's the lighting, or the music. Of course, no pets hotel or day camp here. Maybe it's just that I don't have my crazy two beagles dragging me through the store. read more

Great pet training! We started our puppy with Samantha C. In the beginner dog training classes in March. He was only 5 months old when started and in the 6 week course he learned all the basic commands such and sit, down, focus, wait and loose leash walking. This was a class of six dogs of various ages and breeds with lots of distraction. Samantha was very patient with each dog with her immense knowledge and teaching so that all of the dogs graduated! She really made this a fun class as well! Samantha was great answering our questions and explaining tips on continuing our "homework " during the week. Thank you Samantha we now have a six month old Aussie puppy who is well on his way to further training! Well worth the very fair class fees. You won't find this thorough of training elsewhere! We went on adoption day. I'm a cat lady, in love with fur balls! ! I do not understand why they have the rambunctious puppies so close to the kitties. The puppies would bark each time a patron with a dog came through the door. They would run around the pin wildly and yap insanely scaring the little cats. I think this is an issue the staff could easily alleviate by moving the mobile pin to another area. The cats are is an enclosed glass area affixed to the store. Anyway, I can't wait to get my cat!!!!! They charge $110 to adopt and you can't get the cats until they are a certain weight/age because they give them shots and spay them. So I guess the price isn't "Too" bad to have them ready out the door. I prefer getting them as small as possible so they latch onto you. Hopefully I'll get a baby cat soon!!! read more

Here's why: -Grooming: Groomers stare at you when you enter and no one greets you until you've stood there for a while. HELLO... I'M RIGHT HERE!!! Grooming takes 3-4 hours?! What's the point of making an appointment? Pawgress Report is only give when reminded -"Trainers": I've heard trainers used pets' names for negative consequences. Never associate pets' names with something negative. Big NO-NO. -Check-out: Cashier overcharged me for something I didn't buy. I recently adopted my dream dog, an adorable (utterly perfect) white Maltese! She is such a sweet, happy puppy! Only 9 weeks old. I haven't owned a puppy since I was a child, so I would consider myself brand new to pet ownership (I should mention I also don't have children, so I'm pretty much starting from the ground up here!). I decided to stop by PetsMart for some food, and just to get a general idea of what's available for her. This really nice guy named Ivan helped me, he took me through the food isle and showed me what the best foods are for her during her early development, and then he explained the importance of cleaning their teeth regularly to avoid decay and bad breath. It makes sense now, but I wouldn't have occurred to me to clean her teeth. He then walked me through the store and gave me so many fresh ideas. If you're new to pet ownership, I highly recommend checking these guys out. And ask for Ivan, he'll really take care of you! read more

She called again and said she told us to get here in 30! I said I was trying to get there ASAP. She said that doesn't matter-she said 30. I love the large selection of dog food and dog toys. The prices are unusually better then Petco. And the store is always very clean. The only negative experience I've had here has been with the lead dog trainer, Jon. He knows how to train and how to lead a group class, but he gets frustrated easily. When a technique he suggests doesn't work, he shuts down and doesn't know what to do. If you listen to him during a group class you'd think man this guy knows his stuff, but then watch him on a few one-on-one sessions and you'll see that his skills as a trainer aren't really there. Text book wise he knows it, but I think his personality gets in the way of his training. There is also a new female part-time trainer who just started working there. She doesn't have the experience yet, but her personality and friendly playful nature makes her perfect for dog training. Now there is another Petsmart store in Ontario, CA next to Sams Club that is bigger and cleaner then the Fontana location. I didn't get a chance to talk to the trainers there, but I love their doggy hotel / boarding area with the two play rooms, which is also where the training is done at. However, both the Fontana and Ontario location do the same style of 'clicker training' and to some people that might be important. The Petco in Fontana has an amazing lead trainer (Tori Wood) who has a degree in Animal Behavior and gets lots of recommendations from people at the Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga dog parks, but just know that Petco doesn't use clicker training and instead they promote general marker training with verbal commands and hand signals, which is basically the same thing. Just replace Yes/Good with Click and your good to go. read more

This is a review for one of PetSmart's best trainers Sam! My family has 4 golden retrievers as Sam has trained two of them so far and soon we will be bringing our youngest golden to train with Sam. She is an excellent trainer and really cares about each and every dog that goes through her training course. Sam is also very accommodating and wants to make sure owners get the most they can out of the training experience. Diamend recently groomed my dog and I was highly satisfied with her work. I have a little yorkie who can sometimes get stressed and a little nippy during grooming but Diamend must have been a very calming presence because she said my little one was a perfect angel. My little one came back smelling and looking so clean and perfectly groomed and was not stressed out like he normally is after groomings. I have read several horror stories about getting a pet groomed at these big corporate stores; however, a private groomer told me that she doesn't do daschaunds and advised me to take my dog to Petsmart or Petco. Well, I decided to give them a try, and I am glad I did. Catherine took special care of our girl. When I came to pick up our senior rescue, she was so shiny and clean, and smelled GREAT! However, the BEST part was watching our dog prance out with pep in her step. She LOVED the groomer and I will be requesting Catherine every time. Bought 2 of their biggest store brand "all living things" Timothy hay when they were on sale. One of the bags was old and dry when I opened it, thought it was just me but my guineas would not eat it so I called this location that i Bought it from and they said they would switch it out no problem, just to bring my receipt, after bringing in my email receipt and full bag of old hay they said i had to pay full price for a new bag meaning 5$ more even after the person on the phone said it would just be an exchange. Seems like they sell crappy old products during their sales and when you notice your pet wont eat it they make you pay full price for a new fresh product. We have been shopping here over any other pet store for over a year, my fiance and I will no longer shop here because of the misleading information and horrible customer service. read more
