We ordered lunch for the employees at our office. When the person that went to pick up the order got back to the office started going through the order she noticed that one item was not there. She promptly called and was treated exceptionally well. She was told that they would remake the order and personally deliver it. When the order came it was piping hot and fresh and also the next size up. Everyone was so apologetic. If you want excellent customer service and excellent food this would be one of the first places I'd go. In all the years I've personally gone there I've never had anything that wasn't wonderful and I've always been treated courteously. read more

Good customer service, good food, and the atmosphere was cool. I gave them four stars because I do feel the experience could have been better and the prices were okay. A friend recommended this spot to me after I was desperately craving a cheesesteak. When she told me the location, I couldn't figure out how I never noticed this place--it's right down the street from where I live. Look past the Starbucks and Pollard's Chicken and you'll see this gem. I walked in and there were just a few people ahead of me. I knew I NEEDED the Philly Cheesesteak, but I was pleased to see that they have a number of other classic sandwiches. After much deliberation, I talked myself into also getting the cheese fries. It took me about 15 minutes to get my food, but I was also the last in line. In the future, I'll definitely call in my order and pick it up to avoid the wait. This is the best cheesesteak I've had since I moved to Hampton Roads. I ordered the small which is 10". I was worried this wouldn't be enough but I was pleasantly surprised at how all of the components filled me up. My bread was toasted lightly, but still soft. I was able to eat my cheesesteak without it getting gross and soggy. The fries were AMAZING. I'm in the rare camp that doesn't like overly-salted fries so I was happy. The interior has plenty of seating, both booths and tables, with two TVs as well. Philadelphia Cold Cuts certainly doesn't have many frills when it comes to dining in, but you are sure to be pleased with your meal! I know I'll be back soon for a Chicken Cheesesteak. read more

We've picked up chicken philly subs twice in the last month and they are definitely my new favorite sandwich. I recommend adding extra cheese or it doesn't meet my philly needs. PCC - Great Neck knows how to make a solid philly cheesesteak. My go-to is the classic ribeye philly with provolone instead of white cheese with fries (their fries are like a mix between potato wedges and curly fries). I appreciate that the sandwich is somewhat neat based on how they organize the fillings and the bread they use which is springy and solid enough to not fall apart when you eat it. The food is consistently good, reasonably priced, and quickly done, making it perfect for a meal for carry-out. read more

Best Phillies this side of...Philly lol. Iggles is good too, but I'm loyal to PCC. I've lived in this neighborhood almost 20 years now and have always come here- it's awesome to watch my son eating tenders or a sandwich remembering when I used to wheel him up here in the stroller, or when I was pregnant waddling through the door for my cravings. One of the best Sub places that ever existed. I always order from them. Just today they made a mistake and we got the wrong order delivered by grub hub. We called them and they were super apologetic and had one of their employees personally drive us over a new sub no charge at all. Hands down, best cheesesteak I've ever had. Not only have I always received great food, but great service as well. Sometimes this place gets so backed up (because who doesn't love a GREAT genuine philly cheese steak?!) and yet the customer service is impeccable. I came in close to the time the grill was closing one time and they were so busy that by the time I got to the front of the line to order, it was technically past time for the grill to close. Be ready to wait. I called an order in at 6:45pm. Got the the restaurant at about 7:00, I did not receive my order till 7:40. The whole purpose of calling ahead is to have them prepare the meal while I'm on the way so I can pick it up and head back home to enjoy it. Communication needs some work, everyone looked like they had no idea what was going on with my order. So I waited till about 7:30 and mentioned something to the cashier about me calling in at 6:45 and I've been waiting. She looked lost and said "sorry about the wait, it's coming right up". Waited another 10 mins so she asked the cook and the cook mentioned my order was already made sitting inside a food warmer. Got my order and left. How long was my food in that food warmer? Did I really wait almost an hour for a call-in order!? I don't think I'll ever return. The meat tasted bland and it really didn't have flavor. I'd rather go to an Italian restaurant and get a cheesesteak with fries for 1/2 of the price. read more

Hungry? Good. This small is a 10 inch sub. That will put you out for the afternoon. The 16 inch sub are for those who haven't eaten in days or who can really put down food or you simply like to stretch one meal over two days. Their cheesesteaks are on point. They're so on point that my buddies and I once planned a road trip to Philly just for the sake of a cheesesteak and when a blizzard stopped us from going, we went to this joint to get our fix. If you're trying to calm down on your beef, go for the Italian sub. It's always one of my favorites for something lighter. I prefer extra oil and vinegar and their version is addicting. You can eat there but it's nothing fancy inside. It's probably better that you order and eat at home although if you're there you can catch some sports on the TV. A big debate in va beach seems to be whether Iggles or Philadelphia Cold Cuts has the better cheesesteak. I tried Iggles first And really enjoyed it. It took me awhile to finally get around to Philadelphia Cold Cuts, but I finally did and also thoroughly enjoyed, but simply based on memory I had no idea which one I like better. SO, my husband and I finally did a side by side taste test of Iggles and Philadelphia cold cuts, both made the same way (grilled onions, white American cheese, and mayo). Well, I'm gonna be honest, upon looking at the two cheesesteaks I thought and wanted Iggles to win. Iggles sandwich had more filling, was a larger sandwich, and they both cost the exact same! So, finally the taste test after the visual examination...and on first bite of each there was no debate which tasted better. Philadelphia was hands down the winner!! I was NOT expecting it to be such an easy decision, but it was. The debate is over. Philadelphia Cold Cuts takes the cake on best cheesesteak!! Quality over quantity was the lesson learned tonight! Another one of those Mom-and-Pop places located on Great Neck Rd that's been here for years --- this one's in the London Bridge Shopping Center --- Philadelphia Cold Cuts has been our go-to local place for cheese steaks for as long as I can remember. First, the roll --- Amoroso's, of course, shipped in from Philadelphia. Next, thinly sliced probably round steak is mixed with sliced white onions and a little salt and pepper, and grilled to perfection. Not overly greasy and not at all overcooked, which is so common with other local cheese steak spots we've tried. The grilled steak and onions are then tossed into the roll, sliced American (or, if you prefer, Swiss or Provolone) cheese is layered on top, and the whole thing is quickly wrapped in order to melt the cheese and keep the roll soft. The sandwich is just delicious, every time. The only constant (very little) problem we've experienced here over the years is the wait for the food. But I've never complained --- everything here is prepared to order, and it just takes a little while to make a good cheese steak. Some places fry up the meat and onions in advance, and just assemble the sandwich when you order. Not here --- it's as fresh and as delicious as if you had made it at home. And while I also haven't found the quality of the meat used here to be quite on par with the real Philadelphia cheese steak places that originally taught us about this sandwich maybe 40 years ago, it's certainly the best I've found in Tidewater, and certainly acceptable. Plus they're the only spot I've found in town that makes the effort to use Amoroso's rolls, which, to me, makes all the difference in an outstanding cheese steak. One of these days I'm going to make an effort to sample some of their other menu offerings, which include a ton of different subs and hoagies on Amoroso's rolls, as well as various sandwiches served on wheat or rye bread. But don't think that Philadelphia Cold Cuts is trying to duplicate Route 58 Deli a little bit further west on the Boulevard, or to be a NYC deli of any kind. It's patterned after the little cheese steak and hoagie places of Philadelphia and New Jersey, and is as close as we have in Tidewater to that type of wonderful sandwich place. I been to a lot of places in Va claiming to have a Philly and although I still have a lot of places left to try, this place has nudged it's way into my top 5 Philly cheesesteak places in Va. Philadelphia Cold Cuts is a cool little sandwich place that has REALLY AMAZING cheesesteaks. I have been frequenting this place for the past 3-4 years and have never been let down. I personally think they are better than the cheesesteaks I've had in Philly, but others would disagree because there's no "wiz" here. I always tackle the large cheesesteak, but end up keeping one of the four pieces for lunch the next day. My gf is a vegetarian and they apparently have a great vege-cheesesteak that has her stamp of approval (which is not easy when it comes to vege-sandwiches). Everyone that works here is really nice and helpful. You can call in your order for pickup or dine-in at a booth or table. Be prepared to wait a little while, it seems to take about 20 minutes to complete an order. There are a few TVs on the wall and newspapers laying around to help pass the time while you're waiting for your order. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. read more

I've been getting cheesesteaks from Tidewater Steaks and Subs for years, but it's a pain to drive all the way out there whenever I get in the mood for a cheesesteak. When Iggles opened I was estatic, but the quality there seems to have dropped a bit from what I remember from tidewater. Constant gristle in the meat just ruins it for me. A pal suggested Philadelphia cold cuts and I am glad he did. Their steaks are good, filling and their italian hoagies are amazing. Reminds me of being back in Philly. The staff is always relaxed and kind as well. Love this place, not a huge fan of the pastrami though. read more

I visited PCC after checking other local reviews. There's nothing special about the location or setting... It goes for a down home deli type feel, but, it's pretty much a meat dive. They have a large selection of hoagies/sandwiches, and cheese fries...ect. I won't go into details, but, in short...it's a simple sandwich shop, with average to below average fare. If you're looking for a decent sandwich and you happen to be close, it's worth a try. Would I go seeking PCC... probably not. I suggest checking yelp for better options for your money. read more
