With mushrooms and cheese

I'll be honest, I don't come here as much as I should. But whenever I'm craving a Philly, this is the only place I come to This place is located in a private parking lot with up close parking and As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Carli. She was extra helpful and incredibly friendly You walk in and order at the counter. We ordered two cheesesteaks and some fries. They do have a lot of different varieties of cheesesteaks here. Including chicken Philly, some salads, a vegetarian Philly and etc. Unfortunately, when we got there they were already out of onion rings (we even got there pretty early) they must be really good, because while I was sitting here a bunch of people came in trying to order them. The fries were delicious though! You take a seat and then wait for your food to be called and you pick it up yourself. It took maybe about 12-15 minutes for everything. In the meantime we helped ourselves to the soda fountain This place actually does remind me of a small run of the mill cheesesteak place you'd find in Philly. Of course it's decked out in sports memorabilia (such as the eagles flags and flyers signs) They also have TVs with the games playing. When I came In they had a football game on that some people were watching. Someone even asked if Carli would turn up the volume and she came out and did. The food is delicious The prices aren't bad Service is great I'm a ranch girl, but I did grab some ketchup packets. They were from a brand called red gold ketchup with a cause. And on the packet it has an American flag and says Folds of honor. Which is a non-profit providing educational scholarships for families of fallen or disabled service members. So I appreciate them supporting a cause when they could of just gotten any old brand I will always come back whenever I have a craving for a Philly

I'm so happy that we live by a Philly's best. They're friendly and helpful with suggestions. Food is always served piping hot and fresh. We normally eat in and it's clean. The hubby loves their food, reminds him of Philly. He gets the mushroom cheesesteak and I get the Philly's best. But don't forget the ketchup and the side of pickles :) I get the fries and nomnomnom. Plenty of parking, right next to coffee bean.

Great place for an authentic philly cheese steak sandwich, eating in, surrounded by a mom'n'pop atmosphere, even though it is a chain. Didn't realize how many Philly's Best sandwich shops there are in Southern California, 19 now per their website (which has a nice writeup about their history), with the first one being founded in Fountain Blue, CA in 1992 . Its popularity must be more than customers that are just Philadelphia transplants. Plenty of parking at this strip mall location, and the place was empty when we came past the lunch rush on a Friday afternoon. It's menu does contain both hot and cold sandwiches. It's a fast food set-up where you stand in-line to peruse the menu sign, then placing and paying for your order. There is a self-serve soda fountain with Coke products, so got a fountain soda ($2.99). The sandwiches are made after your order, so it took about 10 minutes for my name to be called. Went up to grab the sandwiches, and was offered hot peppers and pickles. Was really glad that I said 'Yes'. The thing about regional sandwiches, is they usually grew from local, inexpensive ingredients that could be supplied year round. I've learnt that bread from Amoroso Bakery in Philadelphia is a must for an authentic cheesesteak, and that it's a steak sandwich not a beef sandwich. It's supposed to use quality beef cut meant for steak (like ribeye)...this is very different than our favorite regional Chicago Italian beef, which intentionally uses the toughest cuts of beef, braised very slowly. -- Classic Cheesesteak ($11.49) - beef, bread, cheese. That's all my wife will eat on her hot (never cold) sandwich, and this is exactly what they provide here. -- Philly's Best ($12.49) - always got to get the sandwich that's named after the restaurant itself, right? This also didn't disappoint. The white american cheese had been melted to produce that sticky goo that binds the meat to the bread, to make the eating of the sandwich relatively clean. The cheese is a must here. And the 'steak' meat is very good. Plus the vinegary peppers and pickles helped cut through the richness of the sandwich. I loved this sandwich. -- Cheese fries ($4.99) - really well fried french fries, topped with a generous amount of cheese whiz. I would bet you could ask to replace the cheese on the sandwich with cheese whiz instead (which is a perfectly acceptable version of a cheesesteak). We devoured these. The place is decorated not nearly as much with Philadelphia merch as I was expecting. Maybe the original sandwich shop in Fountain Blue is much more obnoxious with their pride....my personal experience is that Philadelphia sports fans are not shy about their favorite teams, no matter if they are in enemy territory or not. Of course, this is a franchise location...wonder if as a franchise owner, you are REQUIRED to show Philly sports memorabilia on the walls? Was impressed with the value, considering the ingredients and the need to import some pieces from far away. Pretty confident that a sandwich with these ingredients from a non-chain restaurant would be at least 50% more, or be a lot smaller in size/volume. Heck, it compares very well with the cheesesteak sandwich from Jersey Mike's in terms of value, and this is a much better sandwich.

Philly cheesesteak salad. Really good!!

If you're avoiding carbs but craving a Philly Cheesesteak this is your place! They've got cheesesteak salads that totally satisfied my craving! It's off the traffic circle with plenty of parking. Staff were kind of grumpy but that seems to be the case for every Philly's Best so it's expected. Rest of my group got traditional Philly's with fries and were all happy. Definitely be back since the location closest to me went under few years ago.

The food is great and excellent customer service from the staff. The ambience of the restaurant brings you closer to Philadelphia feeling.

My entire food journey started in a Columbia, Maryland food court at The Mall and a grilled Reuben…read moreat the age of 13. Since then the grilled Reuben has been my measuring stick for every restaurant that serves it. It's a must! It shows the attention to detail. It's not a sandwich you can rush. It requires its own time to caramelize and set the flavors up properly. Just like a house made soup, a Grilled Reuben can tell you a lot. And, it just happens to be my favorite sandwich of all time! So. High marks on the store itself. It has a very open air feel, lots of natural lighting, high ceilings and then a hidden court yard behind the shop. It's very clean with lots of colors and art. The music is perfect for the space. The menu is varied and they have both alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic drinks. It's a deli. And they absolutely fill the roll perfectly. And as anyone will tell you, who frequents any deli in the country. What matters is the food. Period. All the niceties mean nothing if the food distant stand up. So... how did they do? Meh. I've had worse. Much worse. I've also had much better. And understand his is my personal opinion. I'm well aware that my comments will not reflect the opinion of everyone. But, the corned beef. They do not cook it in house. It didn't appear to be a brisket although with it being shaved as thinly as it is I don't know if that would help. Brisket corned beer works best when it's nice thick beautiful cuts that break apart and melt in your mouth. But. As you can see in the picture, they don't grill the corned beef but they do pile it pretty darn high. Which is nice. The sauerkraut wasn't grilled. The rye wasn't roasted long enough so the Swiss didn't properly melt and set. Not enough Thousand Island dressing. The rye has the perfect texture and it helps to very nicely. An excellent Jewish rye! The pesto pasta salad was very nice. And it looked as if the other sides were made with an equal amount of attention and love. So high marks there. This is one of those tough reviews because the reality is the atmosphere, the staff and the location are all excellent. The sandwich needs some work. Remember that the Grilled Reuben is the ONLY TRUE American Sandwich. It was created from scratch for the 1942 World's Fair in New York City. It's an original! Treat it with the respect it deserves. And this three star sandwich... of all sandwiches is a hard pass. Sorry. But, if you would ever like to have me come into your restaurant and show you how to serve the best Reuben of your life... just invite me back. I'd love to show you how to make some simple tweaks and turn a meh into a don't miss!

Easily obsessed with this place now. We've only gone once, but we love it…read more We were heading back to LA from doing something in Long Beach, and wanted to stop and have a drink somewhere quick. This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!
