Chicken pho tends to be high in sodium due to its broth, which usually contains added salt and seasonings for enhanced flavor. However, Pho 2012 Bistro on East La Palma strikes an ideal balance, utilizing a broth recipe that expertly tempers salt and condiments, resulting in a harmonious flavor profile that makes their pho a healthier option. Service is fast and accurate, and the restaurant is always clean with plenty seating.

Great food and great service! Waiter was very helpful in reccomendations. Super attentive as well. Nice restaurant for large groups and families. I would come here again.

    Pho dac biet - small

I entered the restaurant and there's no customer, so they greeted me right away and they told me that I can sit anywhere! I chose the booth seating as I'm alone and it's just me. I got the pho dac biet with everything in it. Size small for $12.95 and it was great and worth it! I think the size portion for me is perfect because I finished it and I didn't feel like I had to force myself to finish it because it was too much. They have a small and large size and the small is perfect for my hunger. Anyway, I also ordered the cha gio - fried egg rolls. It came with 4 egg rolls and 2 lettuce wraps. I would love to have two more lettuce wraps but that's ok. I didn't ask for more. I only ate two anyway. The other two, I took it for to go. As time went on, people came in to eat and order to go as well. The sign outside says they close at 9pm and not 8pm! They thanked me when I was leaving. I'd go back again if I was in the area!

My barber recommended this place and he was raving about their crispy noodle. Since it's the wife's favorite we decided to give it a try. She got the vegetarian (tofu) crispy noodle and she said it ranks top of her list. Normally she leaves half for leftovers but not today. I always get combination pho wherever I go and the broth was one of the tastiest I have had. They gave a huge portion as well and like my wife I did not leave anything for leftovers. We also always start with the crispy egg rolls and TBH I don't think anyone can mess that up. So it's comparable to other good egg rolls I've had. What made it was the fish sauce, I don't know the ratio of lime, sugar and water they're using but it was perfect. Will be going here from now on as our go to Vietnamese spot.

This place has become one of my favorite spots for pho and the lemon grass chicken. First let me start with the lemon grass chicken it is flavorful and the portions are generous. The chicken is soft and cooked to perfection. It is a flavor explosion after the first bite! The pho broth is also very tasty and the meats are clean and cooked to order. I have tried many places and this just became my number one spot. On service, be ready to wait a bit if it's busy. The people are really nice but they could use a hand in the front. If you have time and willing to wait on a busy night or lunch time then try it. You won't regret the $12.95 plate!

I come here often and I love the food. The chicken pho is excellent. Fresh chicken breast slices. They do not skimp. Egg rolls are amazing as well. You won't be disappointed.

Filet mignon pho: 2.5/5 - very faint flavor. I think it's hard to mess up pho so I'm not sure why this had very little flavor. Edible though Pho ba (Chicken): 2/5 - also a very faint flavor. Tasted like an extremely light chicken soup. Vietnamese iced coffee w/ condensed milk: 3/5 - had a strong very dry taste in the mouth. I only drank a quarter of the drink. Service: 2/5 - nice waitress but she never checked on us once she delivered our food. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We had to walk up to her to ask for more napkins, water, to go boxes, and to pay. Overall, I'd give this place a 2 because the food wasn't really good and I don't think I'd come back. Doesn't taste bad but doesn't taste averagely good either.

The server is nice and music is great. The place is quiet and cozy vibe. We ordered the # 22 which is a rare beef, well done beef brisket meatballs with tripe and tendon noodle soup, and # 24 beef noodle soup which is the meatballs noodle soup. And yummy spring rolls.

Friendly service as soon I walked inside the door. The server sat ius to your table immediately. Very clean inside . First time coming to this restaurant with my wife.. just in the area getting your income tax' done and my wife saw the restaurant and we both got hungry. Food portions are great . It only took 5mins to get your food after placing the order.

Wonderful customer service! Friendly and attentive staff! I believe Pho is the perfect meal to enjoy on a cold, rainy day or for those days that you may need a little pick-me-up. I like to order their P1 and make it a Special Combo: (beef broth, eye round, well-done brisket, tendon & tripe), 2 egg rolls & a soft drink. The broth always comes out piping hot, is very delicious, and I love that they provide you with a lot of the side veggies as well. The last time I dined here there was a sweet older gentleman who was so funny and making jokes with our table. He reminded us of an older uncle with his cheerful smile and "dad jokes." Overall, the ambiance is warm and inviting and the staff really treat you like family. I look forward to visiting more often.

Be prepared: this place is incredibly popular, especially during peak hours. Parking can definitely be challenging because of how busy it is. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Phở 79 received the prestigious James Beard America's Classics Award, and it's easy to understand why after one meal here. This restaurant is truly an Orange County icon. The restaurant will soon be moving to a new location, as signs throughout the restaurant announce the upcoming move. Orders are placed at the counter and they call your number once your food is ready. The dining room consists of mostly booth seating with one "communal" table, and counter seating with 5ish chairs. There are also a handful of tables set outside. I've really been enjoying banh mi and their Bulgogi beef sandwich sounded great. I also happen to have a thing for popcorn chicken, so I got an order of that to round out my lunch. Oh, and based on the rave reviews I've read about their peach & lychee green tea, I ordered one of those as well. Let me just say, lunch was very satisfying! The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww.
