The pho broth was pretty watered down. The pho I picked was brisket and meatball. The meat felt like it was overdone before my bowl arrived at my table. It was kinda disappointing. The best pho places normally have the pho broth perfectly flavored and meat cooking in the broth (kinda pink) as it arrives at your table. The broth was steaming hot a least. To make broth taste better, I had to add a lot of sauces in it. The service was great. Very quick. I came during lunch hour too. I also ordered an appetizer, egg rolls. The egg rolls came with a bunch of additional toppings which I liked. But of course, you were charged extra for those toppings. I was shocked because most places provide you lettuce to wrap egg roll for free. I still picked the additional toppings to pay because it came with cucumbers and carrots. Very spontaneous find and not disappointing! I found out about a year ago that some pho restaurants use powder to make their broth. Pho Apple definitely did NOT have that kind of taste. Before I eat my pho I always put in a bunch of lime and sriracha and so it takes away the original broth taste. However, I do taste the broth before I do all that. I got the large size and if you're really hungry it may satisfy you but for my boyfriend, he said he should've just paid a little more to get the extra large. It was pretty empty on a Thursday night there but the staff was very friendly and when I asked for more limes they were very generous about it. I don't live near the Frisco area but I would definitely recommend this place to a friend who does. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped by recently as we'd been in the mood for pho, and this place was walking distance from our home. The man whom I'd assume is the proprietor of the restaurant was extremely rude from the outset. Rude to the point of borderline hostile if im being honest. Almost like he wished very much to refuse our patronage flat out. While sitting and eating I would look up and catch him staring intently at us while we ate. At first I would look away thinking maybe it was coincidence as it was not a packed night, but after the 3rd time or so I decided to match his stare from across the restaurant. Shortly after he brought our bill while we'd maybe had time to eat half our food. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! And sadly enough, the pho wasn't half bad although overpriced. For 2 bowls of Pho, 1 hot tea, and 2 spring roll appetizers we paid just under $50. Decent bun bo hue. I usually get bun bo hue at pho places if they have it. My complaints are that they hardly gave any basil and bean sprouts. Also, the soup was not very rich. I got the Bun with pork and shrimp. The shrimp was fine, but the pork...looked different? Maybe because I am used to getting it with charbroiled pork, but the color and texture was unfamiliar. Enjoyed having the Lemongrass Chili Chicken Vermicelli here. It did taste slightly different than other vermicelli I've had before. Some of the noodle were stuck together and the vermicelli was very thin and soft. I'm not sure if they were boiling it for too long, but I didn't mind the texture. The lemongrass chili chicken was pretty good too. The waiter and someone who looked like the owner would check in on us pretty frequently to make sure everything was okay. Cozy hole in the wall with friendly staff and COVID friendly protocols. Food was DELICIOUS. There are a lot of pho places in town and most are good...decent...but nothing to write home to mom about. Pho Apple pho was AWESOME! Amazing flavor to the broth, great fresh ingredients, and awesome overall flavor. The portion sizes for every dish was excellent as well! I also got to enjoy my first ever Bún Bò Huê which was AMAZING! Beautiful amazing delicious spicyness. Not so much you can't taste anything. But enough to make you sweat, accentuate the delicious flavor of the broth, meat, and noodles, and leave your lips and tongue tingling for more. It was an addictive beef noodle soup. I legit could not stop eating and drinking until it was all gone. The last dish I tried was their beef stew. Initially skeptical but I found the stew to be equally delicious with an amazing mouthfeel when eaten with a bite of french bread. Very glad I tried their beef stew as well! Oh so so satisfying. This place has a lot of good reviews, but mainly from non-Asians. Hmm. Gave it a try. Spring rolls = no meat except shrimp. I would expect to see the cha (Viet ham) or at least pork in it. Smaller than the typical. Pho is a little on the bland side, but plenty of meat was given for Pho Tai. Beef banh mi was tasty, but they really skimped on the meat and pickled veggies. Bread was crispy and soft on the inside. Adding the egg made it delish, but I never got the extra $1 charge at Viet restaurants for an egg. Pricey, isn't it?
