Wow, can't say this is the best Chinese food I've ever ha, but it's definitely the most. I've gone in a few times for their lunch specials the last time was a take out, and lemme tell ya, I was raised by a Dutch woman that lived in Holland during ww2. Her moto, if you see it on your plate or in front of you, you had better eat it, or get ready for the old wooden spoon. I've had this mentality for years, but lemme tell ya..my bottom would be red and on fire if she knew how much of this food doesn't get eaten. I'm not including any pictures of the food, because it was nothing spectacular. I ordered a plate of spring rolls, that the waiter never brought out. I ordered the number 18 combo, The broth was mediocre , and I found bones in two of my pieces of meat. Compared to what I'm used to, my bowl of pho was about $2 more then what I pay at other places. They played French and Italian music, which is kind of confusing. The restaurant itself was really clean, had a nice decorum, but the entire time my son and I were inside, only one person came to pick up food for carryout. We were the only people in there the entire time. At least I can say I tried it, but I'll never come back to eat here. I'm only giving 3 stars, because of the accommodation and service. read more

Pho Chopstix - Chopsticks IN the menu! Brilliant! - Vietnamese Near Me - Gardnerville, Nevada

I came here a few days ago for lunch on my way to a camping trip and was excited when I got here because the menu looked good. I ordered Cashew Chicken off of the lunch menu and my bf ordered Pho. I was worried to try the pho since I've never tried it before. The Crab Rangoon was amazing and I was happy they had a lot of stuffing. When my food came out it was clearly Sesame Chicken and not Cashew Chicken and the guy there kept telling me it's the same thing. I showed him the menu and told him that the Cashew Chicken has vegetables and is sautéed and the sesame chicken is deep fried. Instead of taking my plate and making Cashew Chicken and admitting he put in the wrong menu item for me, he came back with a cup of cashews and sprinkled it on my plate saying " there you go, it's the same sauce and now it has cashews". I felt really offended that he would t even admit his mistake that he clearly gave me sesame chicken. So I just asked for a bowl of Pho since my BFs Pho looked good. The food was pretty great. I just do not like the fact that the server kept telling me I was wrong and not to order from the Chinese menu if I don't know what I'm ordering I eat Chinese a lot so I was upset. Besides that, the food was pretty good. I would recommend they own up to their mistakes and just fix the order instead of making me feel bad. I usually order pho since it's not available in any other restaurant in the valley but I have had several other items and they have all been delicious. Cleanliness and service were on point. Friendly and reasonably priced. We ordered the potstickers for appetizer. They were undercooked on the outside. The wrap was still goey and the inside was luke warm. They tasted fine though. My date had the Orange chicken. It was good. Crispy chicken and the sauce was tasty. I had the #33 pho. It was a combination pho. I did not enjoy it. The broth was decently flavored. But the chicken in it was very rubbery. The wontons also had a slightly odd taste to them. Very disappointed. They seem hit or miss with the food. Over 130 years menu items, but did not see a bahn mi. I will return. Not to get the pho. but I will give them another chance since it's hard to find Vietnamese in this area. read more

This is the second time we've eaten here. We are always hungry in G-Ville on our way back to Tahoe from Mammoth. The food was delicious (salt and pepper tofu, crab rangoons, tofu fresh rolls, a vermicelli bowl with shrimp). The service was attentive and the food came out very quickly. Went here for dinner after snowboarding one day. It was nice having a hot bowl of pho after an exciting day on the mountain. There was no wait so we were seated promptly. Unfortunately, we had to retrieve our own menus since none were given to us. We ordered the egg rolls, a bowl of pho, and a chicken soup. The egg rolls were just ok. In fact, it looked and tasted like they were the frozen ones you buy from Costco. We were not impressed. The pho, on the other hand, was actually quite good. The broth was flavorful and there was a good amount of beef. The chicken broth was very good and seemed to have quite a bit of toppings. Overall, the soups hit the spot, especially on a cold, winter day. I think if the service was a little bit better, the restaurant a little cleaner, and the egg rolls way better, then I would rate it higher. However, if I'm in the area again and in need of pho, I probably would return since the price is reasonable and the soups were tasty. read more

Horrible attempt at serving anything that resembles Vietnamese! First I notified them that I was GF and they assured me that it was, then I was served something like vermicelli (Should have been Vietnamese Bun) That had fried, breaded onions in it with lots of gluten! The server took back my dish and said he was going to remove the onions. I had to go back to the kitchen and ask him not to search me that at all. It is also reasonably priced; we've tried other places nearby and its not as good as Pho's Chopstix and Pho Chopstix is also cheaper. I'd heard some good things about this restaurant so I was really looking forward to our dinner. We ordered Broccoli Beef, Mushroom Chicken, and Lemon Chicken. The Lemon Chicken was overcooked and dry. The Mushroom Chicken had large pieces of grissle and fat in it, and the Beef was tasteless. This was the most disgusting food of all time!!! We just paid $50 for crap!!! It tasted like microwave soggy bs!!! We will never go back. Absolutely terrible service with terrible food. It's very disappointing considering when they first opened my fiancé and I were incredibly impressed, especially because we are huge Pho fans and lived in Los Angles where you can find some of the best Pho around. I will never give them my business again. The meat was over cooked and broth had 0 flavor and served incorrectly no cilantro or jalapeño on the side. Failed to give my family chopsticks to eat with, they dropped our food at the table and never returned to check on us refill water etc.... I had to get up and get our own chopsticks and they only returned to drop our check without offering to clear any dishes or boxes. Upon leaving my two year old yelled thank you and good bye along with my mother and we received no farewell. I was just reading the Health Inspections in the Record-Couier . Oct 6th , Pho Chopstix scored a 77 , with a column and a half of violations . A large amount of them are to do with filth . My wife and I have never eaten there , but I think I will stick with Hunans , and Kings Buffet . We are both in our middle 70s , and don't want to take a chance of getting ill . My family and I went on a family trip to South Lake Tahoe last weekend. We decided to stay at this town in Nevada called Gardnerville which is about 20mins from South Lake Tahoe. Town was nice and quiet, not busy and hectic like South Lake Tahoe. For dinner we decided to eat at this place. We got tired of the buffet and fried food place setting. I'm so glad we came and we enjoyed the food. I had the chicken pho from here, I would say that was best pho I've ever had. On our next South Lake Tahoe trip we will back to this town and coming back to this place. It'll be nice if they can have this restaurant here in the Bay Area (SF). read more

I had a good experience here, the food was tasty and the staff was friendly and efficient. I got the "rare beef" phó and was surprised at how good it was. I eaten a LOT of phó in my life, having lived most of my life in bigger cities, so I wasn't expecting anything world class here in small town Gardnerville. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and thought it was on par with most of the phó restaurants I've been too. The only difference was I got a lemon wedge with my phó rather than a lime, which was different but not bad. I would definitely recommend this place for their phó. read more
