I was really craving Vietnamese food. My boyfriend and I found this restaurant on Yelp. We noticed it had amazing food and it's nearby where we live, so we ended up deciding to try it out! We came to Sunflower Vietnamese on Thursday during our lunch break. The restaurant opens at 11:00 A.M, so we were one of the first to arrive. The service is amazing. We were immediately greeted and provided booth seating. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It's beautiful inside and spotless! The booth seating had enough table space to order a variety of food. My boyfriend and I had ordered the following Appetizers: Spring Rolls Combination with Fried Rice Main entree: Rare Steak, Well Done Steak, Meatballs in Noodle Soup Chicken in Noodle Soup Take home: Vietnamese Meat Pies The Spring rolls were amazing. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. There was a sweet and spicy sauce that came with the Spring Rolls as well. It was more sweet than spicy. I could barely taste the spicy part. The combination fried rice was interesting. The rice wasn't overcooked, but the meat in the combination fried rice was sweet. I am not used to having a sweet fried rice, but it was good. The fried rice wasn't too overcooked and a decent amount of mixed vegetables. For my entree, I had the chicken in noodle soup. It's quite large, so be prepared to come on a empty stomach! There was plenty of rice noodle in the dish. The broth was very good, not too much spice or flavor in it. The chicken was cooked thoroughly. The dish could have used a little more chicken in it though. The price came out to be approximately $40.00 without tip. A little bit expensive, but the food quality was worth it and the customer service here rocks! read more

Our kitchen away from home. Jesse and Vi are excellent hosts. We have tried everything on the menu. To each their own as there is something for everyone, but don't miss out on the boba beverages. I know they were closed for a little due to renovations, but I'm unsure if they're open again. Ordered take through Door dash. Everything was nicely packaged, and food was fresh and delicious. I ordered: - Grilled pork sandwich: Pork was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Bread was nice and soft. And pickled vegetables added a perfect touch to the sandwich. *The pickled vegetables were packaged separately (to prevent the sandwich from getting soggy) - Fried egg sandwich: A simple sandwich with a lot of flavor - Chicken pho: Broth is flavorful and chicken is tender. * Broth was packaged separately from the noodles, chicken, and vegetables (to prevent sogginess) Prices are reasonable especially for Door dash. Ordered delivery one night when I was feeling down and needed some Pho to cheer me up. Ordered rare steak pho and spring rolls. Also ordered a Thai Iced Tea. Pho was good, nicely seasoned broth with plenty of meat. Broth was hot when I got it and added all my goodies Spring rolls were excellent. I judge pho places by 2 things, the broth in the pho and the spring rolls. The spring rolls were nice and fresh and well stuffed with shrimp Thai iced tea was good, not to sweet or too bitter. Always had my husband get to-go from Sunflower so I can't really comment or rate them for their service or ambience since I've never been to the restaurant itself, so I'll have him take care of that in his review LOL. So this review will strictly be on the food itself. I've tried Sunflower's pho and spring rolls before, which I didn't like very much, but decided to try them again, but this time for their banh mi's. However, since this is my first review on the place, I will add a review for what I've tried from my period orders with them. Pho 3/5 - The broth is bland, not very flavorful that I had to add so much hoisin and siracha to get to a flavor I can eat. It didn't taste bad, however, I like my broth really flavorful. Sometimes, I also just feel like broth (just the broth with nothing in it) and they were still going to charge me the normal price for it even though it's just the soup part. Not worth it at all!! Spring Rolls 3/5 - They put so much vegetables and not enough meat. The peanut sauce was really watery when I ordered. Banh Mi 4.5/5 - I ordered the grilled pork sandwich and it was really good. The meat was very flavorful, however, I took a 1/2 point off since their sandwiches are pretty small compared to where I usually get Vietnamese sandwiches. I still have to try their vermicelli dishes and rice plates, but I will definitely come back to get their banh mi's again. read more

Such a nice modern designed restaurant. As soon as I walk in, I'm nicely greeted by an employee. Everyone here was very accommodating and showed very great customer service. Food wise (3/5) I ordered the combination pho (steak & beef balls only) what I noticed is that this restaurant didn't offer tripe or tendon in their combination pho... not the best pho I had but not the worst either. I personally like my pho a lot more with the strong beefy tasty and it tasted more light. I HARDLY ever put Hoision or chili oil in my pho but I had to add that in to have my broth have more flavor. I also ordered the spring rolls, nice presentation and tasted like any other spring roll. My only concern was that the peanut dipping sauce was way too watered down... kinda disappointing because my sauce kept dripping all over the place, which made a messy eat. Their veggie pho / tofu vegetables pho tastes no where near pho. A lot of other restaurants that make vegetarian pho are still able to mimic the same great flavor using vegetarian pho seasoning. The broth didn't taste like pho at all (no distinct authentic spices) rather quite tasted basic or any type of veggie broth. I was also quite disappointed the soup came out nothing like the menu/photos. Everything just looked basic. The staff was nice however he was very quick. I was very upset by this because they tried to offer me another fresh plate but i would refuse because what if there was more hair in that one? This location had the best reviews compared to any other Pho spot in the northwest area so I decided to give it a try and man, am I glad that I did. I had a rare steak pho with pork/shrimp spring rolls. I do feel like they could've added another shrimp in their spring roll, but overall, everything was sooooo good. Could be because I'm pregnant, but I was left wanting more pho after I was done with my bowl. I also wanted to try their mango smoothie but they were out of it. Awesome Pho spot in N las vegas. The broth is amazing. The shrimp in the pho wasn't over cooked and the beef is tasty. I brought my own Maggi bc I called ahead of time and they didn't have it. Their service was sooooo nice! A friendly guy helped us and was very insightful on what we would like to order. If I had more room in my stomach I would've ordered that floss sandwich (shredded chicken)! Wish I lived closer bc I would come here often! Thank you! Highly recommend. Ok time to update my review! Last time I gave it 4 stars but it has definitely gone up to 5+ stars in my book. This is why I always give restaurants a second chance especially if they are on the newer side. I've eaten here so many time at this point that I've become almost a weekly regular. Soups flavor improves every time and I'm so satisfied with my order. Not only is the food delicious but I love the staff. It really is a family vibe and they make you feel welcome with a big smile. Jessie who always takes my order is my absolute favorite! Thank you for always being so friendly and sweet when I come in! Also for recommendationing the chili base sauce!
