Pho Ga just opened on Noriega near 20th. I walked by and saw the new restaurant. It has Vietnamese bistro at decent prices. At first they said they have credit card minimum and now there is no minimum. I decided on the Vietnamese sandwich banh mi with grilled pork and packed it up to eat it at home. It took like 5-8 minutes to eat the sandwich. It was very tasty and basic. If you want a decently priced banh mi on Noriega, this place is good and the interior seating is new enough. I mean there is the old Green Bamboo nearby and this spot is now a competitor. I used to eat at the restaurant at this spot. Kevin's Noodle is still supreme in the Sunset. read more

Funny enough, I don't come here for the Pho Ga... lol for that, Turtle Tower is the spot in the city. But the thing they do get right here, it's the bun bo hue. AKA lemon grass spicy beef noodles. It's the only spot that does the dish service in this city. (I'm Vietnamese) Not perfect, but best you can get in this area compared to San Jose or LA. Bun rieu is good too. We ordered: the Imperial Rolls, Combination Beef Noodle Soup, Hue Spicy Combination Beef Noodle Soup and the Grilled Beef and Imperial w/ Vermicelli. Ordering was very easy via their website, and our order was ready to pick up fairly quickly. **PRO TIP: order via their website instead of thru Yelp/Grubhub because the prices are slightly more expensive on here. We received our order piping hot and I was so excited to dig in at home. They give generous portions and each item was packed digently. However, flavors fell short. The bun bo hue and beef pho soups both lacked depth, and the bun bo hue soup even lacked flavor -- it was more of a mild spice than anything. The imperial rolls were tasty but were a tad bit too salty. Both noodle soups came with only a few slices of meat, but I guess you can't complain for the affordable price we've paid. The Grilled Beef and Imperial w/ Vermicelli had nice, fresh veggies and grilled beef was pretty flavorful, our best purchase of the night. Omg the best chicken pho I have ever had! I was super hungry and cold on a rainy December day and wanted some lunch that would satisfy my hunger and constant craving for good Vietnamese food. Well, I happen to be in the neighborhood and came across this place! It did not disappoint! I ordered a chicken pho (cause the name of the restaurant is pho ga! I had to try it) and omg the broth was heavenly. I also ordered some imperial rolls and they were yummy but i took most of them home cause i got so full on the pho! Nice portion, not too big. Great new Pho place that's super close to where I live. Came here with the fiancé on Saturday after seeing the grand open sign Food: clean chicken pho. To be honest, I think I like the taste of the one in front of Safeway more but you can just tell this one is cleaner, less msg, salt and other unhealthy items. Really loved the red onions and the fact that the side of minced ginger is super fresh and delicious. My only feedback would be to add some more chicken as I felt like a few more pieces would've made the dish perfect. Service: service was great. We've only ordered takeout from Pho Ga and each time it has been delicious! We've tried their Pho Ga, Bun Bo Hue, Combination Beef Noodle Soup, and Five Spice Chicken with Garlic Noodles. Packaging was excellent as the soups were in separate containers from the noodles and meat. The soups were tasty and don't make you feel thirsty afterwards. They're actually pretty clean and not too oily. Good amount of noodles and meat. Perfect for a nice cold day. The kids split the Bun Rieu noodle soup, which was hot and tasty. I had the grilled chicken banh mi which was delicious and had the right amount of all the ingredients. My mom had the grilled pork vermicelli bowl and said it was crisp and tasty and all it was meant to be. They took the time and put in care into our meal on a Sunday lunch and it hit the spot. Disclaimer: I only had their hue spicy beef noodle soup so this review is not comprehensive. (I do think I'll come back though so will be updating my review.) Got a bun bo hue sometime ago in SJ and loved it. Definitely not common to find in the sunset area. I'm not sure how authentic it is but it did have lots of meat and even pork blood. The soup was spicy and really warms me up in the cold weather. I think it's lacking the lemongrass flavor and could have a little more sweetness but it's tasty as is. And, it was a huge bowl for less $11 before tax! What a deal! The store is bright and clean. Came in around 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and service was pretty fast. Nothing too crazy but classic chicken flavor with the ginger seasoning on the side. Perfect on a cold day. Takeout is easy and quick. Orders are usually ready in 25 mins or less. The restaurant has a table up front blocking customers off from entering too far into the restaurant. Pickup is fast and they usually have the door open to circulate air. I feel like I barely tasted or felt tendon. Weird, all the tendons I've eaten were big chunks. The beef balls were harder than other beefs balls I've had. Inside is pretty clean, but lots of their supplies are kinda just out in the open. We ordered the house special combo rice plate, which included two pork chops, an egg, and an imperial roll, and chicken pho since that should be their specialty. We were really impressed! They used thick noodles instead of thin pho noodles and we really liked it. The broth was really flavorful and would highly recommend it. The pork chops tasted great with the fish sauce and rice. We felt the portions were pretty generous. Calling ahead saves a lot of time, since they did take a while for our order. I would love to come back again to try their five spice chicken. read more

She was kind and efficient, even with the heavy workload of handling the physical customers and the Uber eat/door dash pick ups. I truly admire her service. The egg was a bit over cooked( would have been nice to have a bit of runny yolk, but no biggie) and the rice was a huge amount and cooked perfectly. Trying a different pho place in the inner sunset since we were in the area. Small place with maybe 8-9 tables. No wait when we came around lunch time on a Sat. The restaurant looks fancier than most pho places. We ordered the spicy Satay beef pho, pork garlic noodles and chicken noodle pho. Bowls are pretty big and portions are large, which is why each bowl/meal was around $15 each. The chicken noodle bowl uses a wider flat noodle than pho bowls but was tasty. Chicken was tasty but some pieces come with chicken skin (which we don't eat). Ginger/oil dipping sauce comes with it. Garlic noodles were good, no issues. Satay pho wasn't what I expected. It had a kick but soup seemed a bit sour/tomato-y to me. I was excited to see this on the menu but wasn't what I was used to at my go-to place (made with coconut milk). We also got imperial rolls, which were good sized but not as crunchy as I had expected. Overall, big bowls of noodles for the price, enough to take leftovers home.
