Pho is one of my favorite foods so Ive been to so many locations but what stood out about Pho Hoa was the service. I think the owner noticed it was our first time visiting so he stopped by our table to check up on us a couple times with great energy i liked that he even gave us a discount. Food: Got the Bun Bo Hue I personally thought it was a big miss. The flavors were weak, too fishy and the soup wasn't hot enough to cook the meat they put in. But that's just my take since I'm used to the flavors from Westminster. My intention isn't to be harsh, but to provide helpful insights based on experience. Having lived in Orange County my entire life and frequenting the Bolsa and Westminster areas regularly, I've tried nearly every pho spot in the area. I eat pho weekly, so I have a good sense of what's standard and what stands out. I'll keep this brief and break it down into three main points: 1. Ambiance The restaurant itself looks nice, as expected for a new place. However, I felt the flow of the space could be improved. There were two exits--one on the left side and one through the main entrance--which made things feel a bit disorganized and confusing. 2. Appetizers (Spring Rolls) I ordered one order of spring rolls, which usually comes as two individual rolls. Instead, I was served one roll cut in half. This should have been clarified when ordering. At nearly every Vietnamese restaurant, an order of spring rolls means two full rolls, often sliced in the middle. For $5, I felt shortchanged, especially when I can go across the street and get three full rolls for $6. Presentation and transparency matter. 3. Pho (and Other Menu Items) Pho noodles: The noodles had an off texture. For those familiar with cooking pho at home, you'll know that the brand and quality of noodles make a difference. These noodles reminded me of the cheaper kinds you can find at markets--not the al dente, high-quality ones that are standard in more established pho spots. The broth: It leaned more toward a plain beef broth rather than the layered, aromatic profile you expect from traditional pho. It wasn't bad, but it didn't have the balance of salty, sweet, and fragrant notes I associate with authentic Vietnamese pho. It felt a bit Americanized. Herbs and Veggies: Basic garnishes like jalapeño slices and culantro (ngò gai) were missing. These are staples and make a difference in the experience. Popcorn Chicken: This tasted like plain chicken coated in flour and deep-fried. There was no flavor, seasoning, or even a touch of basil. Served over dry rice and overcooked eggs, it didn't justify the $15 price tag. I was genuinely excited to try this place, and my friends and family were too. But with so many excellent pho restaurants within just a 1-2 mile radius, it's hard to see a reason to return. Nothing stood out as memorable, and in a competitive area like this, that's important. read more

My first visit on their Soft Opening 7/11/25 I did a take out this evening. I ordered the # 18- Chicken Pho, Also Summer Roll & Avocado Roll. OMG! I loved it so much. I enjoyed the peanut sauce to dip the Spring Rolls. I couldn't control myself make emmm sounds while enjoys my food. I highly recommend trying them out. My boyfriend and I had dinner here recently during their soft opening. Everyone on the staff were incredibly welcoming, which is especially important to us as an interracial couple (I'm Vietnamese/Chinese and my boyfriend is Mexican) because we've had some negative experiences (e.g.,intentionally ignoring or giving us slower/ruder service than other customers) at some traditional ethnic restaurants. Honestly, with so many restaurants in the area to try, just offering "traditional" or "authentic" dishes isn't enough. I expect to be treated with basic respect even if I'm not part of that same ethnic group. Anyway, we ordered the popcorn chicken, tutti fruity tea, pho tai, and combination pho. The presentation and portion size of the popcorn chicken was perfect. The chicken itself was around $9, but I added rice and an egg for an extra $2 because I haven't seen that option before at other places I've tried. I also appreciated that the pho tai was actually rare. I don't really like meat cuts that are overly tough or chewy, so I was hoping the tai option would be a safe choice (which it was). The tutti fruity tea was surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much from a restaurant, but they had a wide selection of speciality drinks and toppings, and it was nice to not make a second stop for a sweet treat lol. Wanted to try this place because it had good reviews. Went this morning and tried their #15 pho and i was not impressed. Soup was lacking flavor and the star anise in the broth was way too overpowering. Couldn't really taste the flavor from the beef bones. Their popcorn chicken was good though. My family and I came in for dinner and it was delicious! I had the birria pho. The meat was so tender and the broth was delicious! My husband had the chicken pho and it was amazing. This is one of my personal favorite pho places. The store is very spacious and clean which makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy your meal. The owner is incredibly kind and staff are very attentive-- definitely makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. The customer service here is good as most of these reviews have mentioned. As for the food, it is delicious. I love the owner's intentions with how their food is made especially knowing that the broth isn't made with msg. The broth tastes very light and clean which doesn't leave me feeling like i have to take a nap right afterward.. unlike other places where it can be a bit heavy. The popcorn chicken is a perfect snack to have and is very crispy. The steak in the pho is very tender, and my personal favorite is the seared garlic steak pho. Searing the steak is such a game changer since it slightly makes the broth richer. The chili oil is so good and really elevates the whole bowl. The drinks here are really refreshing and hits the spot every time. I'm basically here every week at this point--no shame. Overall, it's a solid pho restaurant and I'd give it 10/10. read more

I really enjoyed eating here but what made me give two stars is the portion between large and regular. Last time, I ordered one Large #56, and thought if it always came with this small of a portion. Last night, I ordered two large and three regular pho and found out that they only give you extra broth for large. No extra noodles or meat. It was quite disappointing. I requested for extra cilantro but ignored my request. I was glad to finally have a pho restaurant near my house but I think they should really work on the difference of portioning between regular and large. read more

Whenever I'm in the mood for Pho, and I don't have a lot of time I come here. Even if you're in a hurry to get things done quickly, and the ambience is quiet. First, customer service is 10+. They really are on top of everything. The place is really clean and welcoming. I got the shrimp pho it was very tasty. I also loved their mango mojito. My daughter got the brisket pho and she absolutely loved it. My other daughter got their birria pho and while the broth was really good, the meat needed a little more time it was a little though. As a person who was born in the very place where birria was invented, culinary instructor, chef, and restaurateur, I can honestly say that the broth didn't taste like birria. A few notes. Wasn't awful, but wasn't very good in comparison to others nearby. This place could thrive if they season the broth more, the broth from the signature pho tasted clear. It's great that they give you a bunch of meat, but it's not very good quality and the beef rib isn't very flavorful or fall off the bone... so it's difficult to eat. I have server experience, and I can say that they need a girl or two working to notice the dirty tables. During our entire meal here, the two tables next to us didn't have anyone sitting there, yet were full of dirty dishes and food sitting out. Seemed like they only cleared tables when a new party walked in, other than that the servers were just walking around. Employees are nice, but clearly don't know the menu. I heard the servers apologizing to almost every table, don't apologize for every little mishap, just do the correct thing for the customer. I feel bad leaving this review but they could do better. read more
