I really love this pho place. The flavor of the broth is so good and hearty. This is coming from a girl that never wakes up craving pho. In the past, if someone asked me for a good pho place, this is definitely what I would have recommended. Last few times here were extremely disappointing. I don't think I'd ever recommend or honestly come here again honestly. First of all, do not come here if you were expecting alternatives to Pho. Pho is literally all they have with one rice dish and one mien dish (another noodle soup dish). Pho here used to be really good, but now it tastes like they're combining the flavors that are supposed to be in mien into their pho which honestly doesn't taste very good lol. I'm not a big fan of pho, so honestly when I come here I alternate between their pho and rice dish. I think their rice dish has potential, but the portions are extremely small for the price. Staff here is also extremely awkward. I mean, Vietnamese restaurants in general don't have the best staff but yikes at this place lol. If you like Pho Bac (northern region) flavor than this would meet your need. It is not the best out there, especially in OC but the flavor is there. I prefer the southern region favor, Pho Bac is a little odd for me somehow. In term of meeting Pho Bac standard they deserve 4 stars. Environment was clean and comfy. Friday morning ! The pho is really goood but that's because there's A LOT of msg. seriously! If you drink water or tea after eating your pho for a little bit, you can feel the weird taste on your tongue meaning there's a lot of msg in the broth. However, it is good the way they cooked it. Waiter takes our order and all that. Server brings you the pho and he puts it in front of whoever ordered it. Whenever I have a craving for Pho, which is pretty often, I have to go to Pho Hoa Xoan Ben Them Cu. This place is amazing! It is one of my favorite Pho (Beef Noodle Soup) places. The Pho is always consistently delicious! The broth is rich with flavor. I always order the #2 Pho Special Combination soup (Pho Hoa Xoan Dac Biet). The mixture of different beef in this soup is perfect. The iced coffee is insane! It's really sweet and tasty, but the caffeine content is through the roof. I usually only need to drink a little before I feel jittery. It's good stuff. Love it! The price is reasonable, and the quality of the food is excellent. My husband and I wanted to try a new place for dinner. I was craving pho. So we looked through our Entertainment Book. We found a buy one, get one free coupon for this location. After driving 45 minutes to get here, we were excited to see that this place was clean. To be honest, I was a bit weary because of the negative yelp reviews about overcharging. I looked over the menu and was surprised to see that if you order take out, they will charge a 50 cent surcharge per bowl. It's not much, but I have never seen this before. It's probably to compensate for their to go containers. My perception is that they nickel and dime their patrons. When we were ready to order, I showed the coupon. They said they don't accept it. What?!?! It's not just a regular free coupon. I paid for the 2018 Entertainment Book to get discounts and coupons. Why wouldn't they honor it? Was it just so they can get their name in the book as a form of advertisement and that's it? I decided to just leave. There are so many pho restaurants nearby with 4 stars and above. I am actually at one of those restaurants right now. It's about a mile away. The service was very good. Every person was super friendly. Also the food came out really fast. The pho bowl is in front of me and smells delicious. In addition, the price for a bowl of pho is actually cheaper.
