Service and ambiance in the restaurant is quite normal for a Vietnamese restaraunt but it is pretty clean. My wife loves the Bún Bò Hué. Its too spicy for me but she says it is very flavorful and served with a side of fresh vegies. I always have the Phò. This time I tried the Phò Ga. The broth, noodles, and the veggies where quite good. The chicken was white meat and needed Hoisin and Sriracha. I've had the beef combination before and it is always flavorful. I ordered egg rolls from here on Sunday and found a piece of glass inside one of them. I stopped eating immediately after noticing it and took photos of the glass in the food. This is a very serious food safety concern. I'm currently pregnant, which made the situation even more frightening. It was our first time visiting this place, and after reading so many positive reviews, we had to check it out! I'm so happy we did because we really enjoyed our dinner. When we arrived, it was pretty busy, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. I ordered a combination dish, and it had plenty of meat worth the price for the large portion. My husband tried the soup and actually liked it, even though he usually isn't a fan of pho broth, but this one is exceptional. He chose a beef and vegetable dish and enjoyed that as well. We also ordered Thai tea, and it was just as good as we expected. The service was quick, and our server was nice. Since we live an hour away, I'm really glad we decided to stop here. Well, this place changed owners some years ago, and it's been hit or miss since. The last time I ordered food for myself and family, we were sickened by the spring rolls. This time, I figured I didn't want to judge by one bad day, so I'll order something on line using an app their website led me to use. Ok, placed an order, and I thought things would be alright. When I arrived about 20-25 minutes later to pick up my pre-paid order, I was told they no longer made part I'd what I ordered. (Other restaurants in Elk Grove would call, send an email, etc.). Nope not this place. I was promptly refunded for the part they no longer made. Then. I was told I had to wait for the part they actually had. So I wait a good 10 minutes standing to the side as not to be in anyone's way in a crowded place. I guess the cashier explained to folks what was happening and other staff members treated me as I were a nuisance. Five minutes after that I take my order and leave with a half hearted apology. Well, I have to find another place to spend my time and money. I'm sorry I've been a loyal customer for years, but to treat me like a nuisance is the final straw. I'm done! read more

Customer service 4.4 Food 4.4 Wife and I were busy all day just catching up on our housework. So made the executive decision to eat out but not at one of our regular places in Elk Grove. Upon arriving the restaurant was super busy, but a table came available once they cleared/cleaned it. We sat down and my wife was working off the pictures of food on the wall, I laughed and grabbed a menu from the front area. A gal dropped off two waters and asked if we were ready to order, I didn't look over the menu but my wife started ordering: pork chop over rice and spring roll with pork & shrimp (#6) so I quickly glance at their Pho choices and went with the #1 that had a little of every meat (large). The spring rolls arrived at the table and these were the biggest spring rolls I ever ate, it definitely could have been someone's dinner. The dipping sauce is not a peanut base sauce but more of a plum sauce so a sweeter taste, with the spring roll it is a nice sweet refreshing combination. A few minutes later our other items show up. My wife enjoyed her pork chop (only one due to the size of the spring roll), she's not really a foodie or picky about her food but I will say that the pork chop that she did eat disappeared Fast! Now as for the Pho #1 it was really LARGE, lots of meat and plenty of noodles but I have to say the broth was nothing special, I had to add lime and sauce on the table to add some flavor. From there I added the bean sprouts and jalapeño then devoured the entire bowl of Pho since I rather take home the last two pieces of spring rolls for later. As for customer service it's straightforward: greet, provide water, take order, server food, give check and to go container (if necessary) , so don't be afraid to flag your server for refills or other requests. BTW, you pay at the counter (by table #) if the server doesn't take your payment while at the table. But this is typical at many Pho restaurants that I've been too regardless of state or city. We'll give Pho Ivy another try to see if our experience changes. read more

We ordered two pho bowls, the short rib plate and some shrimp and pork spring rolls. Overall, portion and cost wise , everything was good. As for the flavor, we really enjoyed the pho! The spring rolls had steamed pork, and we were expecting grilled pork. Unfortunately the description doesn't specify what kind it is. Next time we'll just order the shrimp rolls. And lastly the short ribs. They were just ok, nothing great. We've had short ribs several times at different locations, and this is our least favorite. I'm always on the lookout for good pho. I was in the area for meetings and with the rainy weather pho sounded perfect- but it always sounds perfect to me. I typically prefer to enjoy pho at the restaurant as a dine in experience, but I had too much on my schedule to sit and enjoy. I opted for take out and ordered the combination pho, shrimp and pork spring rolls and Thai tea. I sat outside while they worked on my order and right when I was about to check in a nice staff member brought out my order. It was perfect timing as it just started raining. I drove home and unpacked my meal. They only sell their pho in a large size for to go orders and the portion was very generous. They filled the to go soup container with broth and there was a very generous amount of rice noodles and meats in the other container. The spring rolls were also pretty fat and I loved the peanut sauce that came with them. The Thai tea wasn't my favorite, but that wasn't a big deal. I ended up having the spring rolls and some pho for lunch, more of the pho for dinner and I still have a bit leftover. Wow!!! This is seriously one of the best pho restaurants I've been to. The broth was flavorful and the medium size portion was a great size. My mom had the vermicelli with chicken and shrimp and it was SO good. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy. The shrimp spring rolls were out of this world. Been here a couple times, this time i wanted to try their grilled pork vermicelli. It came out pretty quickly ngl. Overall it was good. I think it was about 13 for the grilled pork vermicelli and a dollar extra for egg roll which is a good deal. I asked for extra sauce and they gave it right away lol. It was honestly good, decent portions and they give a TON of meat, honestly too much meat compared to the noodles lol. I would honestly like more of the pickled raddish and carrots but it was still good. They have good Bun Bo Hue too, i got it but subbed out the pork blood for brisket and it was a ton of meat as well lol. Service is alright lol, they arent the friendliest but arent mean so its good.
