The plus about this place is that it's open pretty late. The pho is decent but the broth is not quite as flavorful as some other places. Also, the whole place really really smells like pho. The smell will literally smack you in the face when you walk in Haha. And the prices are a little steep, however you do get a large portion size in exchange. But yeah. Always my late night haunt for pho in Garden Grove. After a Disneyland trip I always stop by Pho Lu. I usually order the beef broth pho with rare and cooked steak with the standard rice noodle. I've also ordered the seafood pho with shrimp, fish balls and white fish with the egg noodles. Service here is questionable but the pho is good. Wash it down with hot green tea. Yum! read more

I live in Tustin near a small pho restaurant. Unfortunately the Pho Lu is not worth the commute for pho. Probably because the price and the quality near me are worth it. This is my favorite Pho place in all of Little Saigon. Now given there are probably close to a thousand pho joints in this area, and I have only tried 15-20 of them, and I am not Vietnamese. Like most pho places right when you come in, you can just sit wherever you want. after finding a place by the window, I just ordered a thai iced tea, and regular size rare steak bowl. I really liked the portion, not too much noodle, not too little meat. The broth was really good too, not too much star anise like some other places. The thai iced tea was prefect, just the right amount of half and half and tea. overall the food is pretty good. The only bad thing is the parking. The restaurant is in a shopping complex, so its hard to find a space close to the restaurant, I had parked the car literally across the lot. read more

It's nice going to a super clean pho restaurant for a change. We received great service even though our party had twenty-five people. I ordered #11 with bo vien. this should actually be a 4.5 ...i had wanted to try a different pho place just because going to pho 79 has just gotten way too busy and there is always a wait everytime i go on weekends and my other choice doesn't have bun bo hue. So i yelped and found this place...I love it....this is my place to go for now anyways. I got bun bo hue that i was craving for and its so yummy. it came with all the fixings and banana blossoms which some places don't have. and to boot they actually gave me a dish of the hot chili oil spice that I could put in myself...which I used all but for some that don't like it spicy then they can put only a little. Also had ordered pho tai nam sach which had really great broth but hubby had said it was a tad oilier than normal but was not in anyway bad. They also have kid size bowls of pho which is a plus when young ones don't eat as much. Cha gio was just as tasty...the only thing that wasn't so great was the nem nuong cuon. it didn't have that crispy spring roll wrapper in it. but hey that was not bad either. I am going to be back for sure( like every weekend) . and the service was really good for a viet restaurant. By far, one of the best PHO spots in Orange County. I'm also a big fan of Pho 79 on Brookhurst and Hazard but lately Pho Lu has been beating them by a mile. When you go to any Vietnamese restaurant, don't expect any good customer service from them so I don't rate them on service just their quality of delicious food. The broth here is just AMAZING! Mmmm I love me a bowl of pho every now and then, and now. This place is great because it opens late. Usually till 2 a.m. I believe. The menu is extensive. Many other dishes aside from pho. Their portions are pretty big and still only about $6.50 for a regular size bowl. I tried their oxtail pho. The broth and noodles are delicious. Flavorful and satisfying. However, their oxtail left a sickening feeling in my tummy. The flavor was off, like it's old meat, and there was a lot of fat on it. I've had oxtail before and I don't remember it being like that. But the pho is good, so I think I will just a pho tai next time. For oxtail pho, my fave place is still Pho 2000 which is also in Garden Grove. Service is as good as any Garden Grove Vietnamese restaurant could be. Place is pretty clean including the bathrooms. read more

To satisfy our Saturday night pho craving, my friend and I made a visit to Pho Lu. It was my first time here while it was probably my friend's second or third time. I ordered a medium number 1 while she ordered a large number 10. The pho was pretty good, beats the average pho places that are around that block. The decorum of the place is pretty nice as well, it's not as dingy looking as other pho restaurants. I couldn't even finish my medium bowl because it was so big, but it was worth it. came in around 3am had 1st gone down the street to Pho Vinh Ky 2 where after being seated we were told they had no atm but directed us to the bank of america an after a 5 min drive they would not let us back in so we decided to try out this place they were closing up but let us in very friendly my friend had chicken pho an i had beef brisket an flank steak pho. Came here with my cousin based on all the great Yelp reviews! I'm not going to lie, it was pretty tasty!!! We ordered two regular sized Pho Tai's and a rice dish with diced beef. The Pho Tai came out and smelled so delicious! Although, my personal preference is to have a little more noodle, and way more meat. Their servings on meat were about 4-5 pieces, kind of slim and the noodle serving was small as well. But the broth trumped both those complaints. The rice dish was great as well! After a long long day at Disneyland all I wanted was something hot and soupy. What better than a hot bowl of pho? When I got here it was about 1 a.m so thank god Pho Lu is open til 3 a.m and in addition to being open late they make some really good pho. I ordered bun bo hue and Thai tea while the rest of my friends ordered the regular beef pho. My bun bo hue was different, but good. It had a really yummy broth, but it wasn't spicy! I was disappointed. I think the reason it wasn't sweet was because of the sweet chasew in the soup. Chasew in bun bo hue, I was surprised. Anyways I tried my friends broth and it was bomb! I think they are not using the right cut of meat & that the meat is not really well cooked. It's more like semi-cooked.
