This is my favorite place to get Pho from in the suburbs! The owner is always super sweet and the pho is just so good. From the flavorful broth and the different combinations of meat you can have, definitely hits the spot. Especially when the weather calls for a big bowl of soup or if you're not feeling well.

I finally found my favorite Pho restaurant!!! My husband calls me a Pho connoisseur. Yes, I need to have Pho weekly if not more often. Pho Son Ha makes a perfect bowl of Pho. The broth is perfect to taste. The meat is cut at perfect size, not too big that makes it hard to chew. Beansprouts and basil are fresh. As a bonus, we got cilantro on the veggie plate too. What makes Pho Son Ha stand out from other Pho is the condiments on the table. This includes freshly made fried garlic oil, chili oil, Sriracha, Hoisen sauce, fishsauce, and sugar. This is truly authentic Pho of Southeast Asia. The restaurant is small, cozy, and clean. Highly recommended.

So far my favorite Pho spot! The broth and the meat selection was amazing. The broth wasn't soapy thankfully! They're currently only doing Carry Out as of June 2021. Also going to be closed for a little over a week in a few days over the 4th of July. Can't wait to come back!

We came here for a quick, inexpensive dinner. The spring rolls were fresh and the Pho was authentic. I like to add chili oil, cilantro, bean sprouts, jalapeños to my bowl. My date adds a variety of other greens and accessories. Everything we could want came to the table. Total price for 2 people with tax and tip was $35 which we were glad to pay to a family run, friendly business. They clearly value their customers and are proud of their food!

My go to place for my Pho and Spring roll cravings. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The place is nice and they play relaxing music.

Pho Son Ha is truly a hidden gem. Amazing food and great service. Appetizers and entrees were brought out in a very timely fashion. The staff were so friendly and polite. So happy I stopped in, I will definitely be returning!!

A great little Vietnamese restaurant in the suburbs. The owner and her staff are super friendly and really make you feel very welcome. The pho was phenomenal--I ordered the Pho Tai Vien (eye round steak slices and meatballs). They cut the meatball into quarters, which makes it easier to eat. The portions were pretty good and the broth was nice. My mom ordered the pork chop rice and the meat was so delicious! The location can be a little bit difficult to find. Pho Son Ha is on the right side of the strip mall and has a pretty sizable parking lot. This is a really great alternative to driving into the city for Vietnamese food.

Each table has self serve rooster sauce and hoisin sauce with soup spoons, chopsticks, forks and metal spoons. The caddy was quite large and tall so we had it removed after setting everyone up. We ordered quite a few dishes and repeated a few. #42 was the pho of choice with everything added in. I personally had the bun lemongrass pork with egg roll. Everyone at the table remarked how full the bowl was when the food came out. It's a delightful noodle salad, super flavorful with the fish sauce added and the salad mixed up. Very filling, and actually a good dish to share as a salad. It has variety of texture with peanuts, egg roll crunch, the noodles, the pickled veggies, the umami of.thr fish sauce a wonderful dish that signals in summer. We ordered salt n pepper shrimp and squid as an appetizer for the table since we were quite hungry when we landed. The two were really different from each other. Both great taste, but the onions shined thru with a bomb of flavor, wonderful when mixed in with the rice. The shrimp had heads slightly trimmed, we ate them crispy head and all. I had a taste of the bun bo hue, which I think is always overlooked when it's the last item on the "pho" section of the menu. It should be a highlight, very different than standard pho, the noodles are rounder, the broth more savory and had a bit of unexpected mild heat (I think usually I don't expect heat, but this good). A great contrast from the pho noodles. I've been to the libertyville location before, and had good memories. This one is a good one as well, the staff was always around and I liked how the high ceilings and the feeling of spaciousness. I will definitely give it another round. In a world where most all places are cashless, Viet Taste keeps the pricing reasonable with being Cash only, they do have an atm on site as well. We fortunately had enough cash amongst us for this food adventure.

We tried a bit of everything: #21 Bún Lemongrass Pork & Egg Roll: Huge portion and incredibly tasty. #42 Combo Meat Pho: Packed with beef slices, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs. The broth was excellent. #30 Fried Salt & Pepper Calamari: Great flavor, though the portion of calamari was a bit small. #31 Fried Salt & Pepper Shrimp: We got them with the shell on, which was definitely the right move! #58 Bún Bò Huế: A spicy lemongrass and shrimp broth with thick vermicelli, brisket, tendon, and pork roll. It was a unique change of pace from our usual pho order, but really good! I would definitely be back to try other menu items! The staff were quick and helpful!

The inside is very clean and inviting, with cherry blossoms as a center point of deco, hardwood floors, plenty of booths..and of course a serving robot. The staff is super attentive. As for the pho, I tend to get the house special or rare beef. The meat, tendon, meetballs, tripe are fresh. Their broth is a little different from traditional but is definitely the star, I like it! Their soup spoons are basically ladles, and rightfully so. We love their Thai iced tea and every one of their "punches". They do have banh mi, lemongrass chicken , grilled pork chop, and more. I've never had the courage to try their sushi tacos, someone let me know what those are like. There is an area of opportunity. You charge for chili oil? Cmon dude. Also, three bowls of pho, three drinks and gratuity at around $87? Love the comfort pho gives me but that pricepoint makes me step out of my comfort zone because there are a ton of options within a 5 mile radius of here. Hey, but if you're a true pho lover, you'll get your fix here.

The search continues…read more I still have not found "the one" I can rely on in the Chicagoland area. I say "Chicagoland" loosely, since it's only been 10 months since I've moved into the area, and I'm mainly trying to nail down a spot that I can rely on in northwest suburbs area. The thing is, there are plenty of decent Vietnamese restaurants. Maybe some above average. But I'm finding out that it's very difficult to find one that can give you the "wholeness," per se. Especially once you've had one and set the bar there. Mine happens to have come from an old, grumpy couple who have since retired and no longer serving their amazing home-style cooking. As for Pho Lover, my family ordered one pho and one pork chop. I opted to try the advertised "combo," which in retrospect I should have skipped. It's just a bowl of pho, a couple eggrolls and a pop for a couple bucks less. Considering I normally would not have ordered the eggrolls or a pop, I immediately regretted it. The option for pho was either the House Special pho or the rare steak pho. I asked to see if I can substitute rare steak with brisket only and they said it was fine. Only, I ended up with a rare steak version anyway. They apologized and I decided not to make a fuss out of it, even though I don't normally like the way rare steak become tough to chew once it's fully cooked in broth. It was no exception this time. Noodles were cooked fine. Perfectly average. Broth was fine. Perfectly average. All the usual toppings were on the skimpy side, which I didn't like. I asked for some extra onion and cilantro, but I never ended up getting them. The porkchop dish was very underwhelming. Meat still had strong boar taint, which to some is a feature, not a bug. Not for my family. Even besides the odor, everything was once again, perfectly average. I can't say I'll go back. Life is too short for average meals.

To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. Just a FYI, the portions are very generous. For 2 people, I would recommend ordering 2 dishes. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A pot of tea is $6. -lor bak 5 - I highly recommend this appetizer. It has crispy pork sausage with shrimp fritters, beancurd, and cucumber. It comes with two sauces. Everything was delicious. -nasi lemak 5 - I love the chicken rendang. The meat is very tender and it has a deep flavor. You can taste the spices that went into it. -Hainanese chicken rice 3.5 - I gave Penang Malaysian Cuisine a 4 because the rice was delicious. HD's version, the rice was not as moist and flavorful. The chicken was not bad, it's about the same as Penang's. It could be a bit more succulent without the sauces. -hokkien mee 4 - this won't be as tasty as in Malaysia. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.

This is my first time trying this Vietnamese place across the street and it seems pretty clean I did try to come here but you have to come here Wednesday through Sunday and I came on a Monday or Tuesday and they were closed. Right now this is my opportunity trying them and so far it's been a quaint and ambience on the declar if they're playing soft jazz music. So far service was pretty quick. I ordered the pho with the beef tendon and it was a meh ok. I think it could have been a little more flavorful with their pho broth but it wasn't bland either. Needs more cinnamon. What's also unique was the fact that they kept their soup spoons and their regular spoons and chopsticks in this wooden box and then another peculiarity was you had to get the condiments of basil chili pepper bean sprouts and lime up in a tray versus for them to bring it to you. The line in the basil didn't seem that fresh which is why I was a little disappointed other than that it was okay. I don't know if I would come here more often but there are other places I tried that are Vietnamese in which the pho had more flavor and was better. I probably would come here for their dim sum
