I've been here one too many times for the past 5 years; so I owe them a review! It's not my first choice for a bowl of pho but it's so conveniently located next to my work that I just can't say no because I only have half an hour to eat during lunch! It's a plus for cleanliness & I have to give them credit for great customer service! They know exactly what I want to eat as I walk in! My food literally comes out minutes after seating! It's rare to find this kind of service around here; that's why I keep coming back! Even though I walk in hungry & walk out extra thirsty! That's a hint for msg! The only thing that annoys me from time to time is that I always have to carry extra cash here just in case I want to splurge & have enough cash leftover for tips because they don't take credit cards! I'm not allowed to keep my purse at work so bringing cash is a problem if my pants doesn't have pockets. Oxtail Pho is great! If you're indecisive; you can't go wrong with Oxtail that falls off the bone! You get an ample amount of rice noodles & fresh veggies with a side bowl of 2 large tasty oxtails. I often order Pho Chin on a rainy day or anytime that we all feel under the weather at work! This bowl of Pho only comes with onions, cilantro & fully cooked flanks to make it easier on the chef to prepare our food rather quickly as the whole pharmacy crew of 9 people orders the same thing during our half hour lunch. My Pharmacy girls don't like to get out of the box to try anything strange so this bowl is perfectly tasty with a generous portion of melt in your mouth tender beef flanks. On hot summer days we would all order Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio which is a bowl cold vermicelli noodles sitting on top of a salad mixed with fresh lettuce, cucumber & bean sprouts. Layered with egg rolls, grilled pork, sautéed green onions, pickled radish & carrots. I stopped in this little restaurant to enjoy some Pho' noodle soup. It is a small establishment with good service. I went with the beef brisket pho' noodle soup. I am such a lover of the basil and bean sprouts. They are brought on a side plate to add into your soup, and I incorporated all that was offered. I wasn't able to finish the small bowl. It was very filling. I am still new to the Pho' world. It seems that I prefer the beef, over the seafood. The beef brisket was very good, and the broth was steamy. It was kind of cute how the bring a chilled aluminum water pot, so that you can refill your own water. Nice touch. I ended up having to take the rest of my soup as a to-go order. They were very generous in offering an extra side of bean sprouts at no additional charge. That was kind. Luckily, I had cash on me, because that is all that they accept. I ate here on a rainy Sunday evening. My buddy recommended this place because his family's business is right down the street from this place. I will tell you that I was pleasantly surprised at the service I got from the Pho Thanh staff. Typically and/or stereotypically you don't get great service from a restaurant like this, but they were downright nice and the drink glasses were always full. Service was Four Yelp Stars. Now onto the food, I ordered the pho with ox tail and my other buddies ordered the safe pho with rare beef steak. My ox tail order was over cooked and very disappointing. My buddies rare beef steak as I was told was plentiful, but just bland taste for the meat in the dish. Although the pho broth was very tasty and was the only bright spot to our orders. But really the over-cooked oxtail brought the star rating down to a dismal level. One more bright spot to my visit....they gave us a FREE dessert dish, which was the Split Pea with Sweet Coconut Milk....Yummy! But overall, I still felt like that I was jipped by my visit to this Vietnamese restaurant just because the ox tail was soo overcooked that I did not pick at it anymore than I normally would. Before heading back to Fresno, we wanted the grab a quick bite for our 4 hour night run. We went into this pho place around 8:20 for some pho. The place is similar to other pho places. The restaurant's cleanliness in the main seating area is okay. The restroom was dirty not well kept. The waiters were nice but with the language barrier it was a little difficult trying to understand each other. The food. We ordered meatballs with noodles; chicken pho; grilled pork chops with steamed rice and an egg; beef pho; and spring rolls. The spring rolls were okay. I ordered the shrimp with pork. It had too much bean sprouts in it. The taste of bean sprouts over powered all the taste. The peanut sauce that came with it was awful. I think they added peanut sauce into their dicon/carrot sauce. My opinion...it's awful. I tried adding hoisin sauce and sriracha sauce to better the taste slightly. I would skip the spring rolls next time. The pho bowls were pretty good. They were tasty already from the kitchen. Hoisin sauce and sriracha along with lime made it better. The grilled pork was also okay only. It looked like it was deep fried instead of grilled. Not the best I've had. Overall, in a quick pinch I might go back. But I know there are better pho places in the Orange County area. read more

I stumbled onto this place randomly when I needed something quick with only a few minutes left to grab a quick bite to eat. I'm so glad I did. This place sneaks up on you. Its like an undercover bomb spot hiding out in a discrete strip mall. Top notch. The amount of food you get for a $6 platter rocks! If the pork platter I had is THAT good and THAT cheap. I can only image the world of goodies in that menu. I bet their Pho is terrific. I be the chicken platters are as well. If you live near Little Saigon, finding a pho restaurant is about as simple as bumping into a Starbucks in Seattle. You shouldn't have a problem. Pho Thanh shouldn't be trouble finding either: it's tucked away on the corner of Garden Grove Blvd. and Euclid. I've never seen it exceptionally busy, but it's consistent. The servers are attentive and easy-going. You know, it's pretty much the same that you may have come to expect elsewhere. Maybe BECAUSE it isn't packed, the service is better. You aren't having to compete for your server's attention. What's odd is that the last two times I had been there (the pho is typical), Elton John had been streaming over the airwaves. I ran out of the restaurant tending to my kids and then didn't even realize I didn't have my purse until the following evening. When I called, the lady politely told me they were holding my purse for me and was wondering why I didn't come in sooner. I scoped this place out and figured that since it's packed full with Vietnamese natives (none of the tables were speaking English) then I was in the right spot!!! This why I recommend it. I have no idea what that is, sorry. They used to be very blunt BUT got the order right and food good. We went on 06-07-2019.. There was new weird staff (older asian lady and another thick woman). They messed up our order THREE times. Ok by this time, everyone on yelp I think has a clue what Pho is. If you don't, I feel sorry for your sheltered close minded lifestyle and think you desperately need help. Overall though, the broth was pretty good, the noodles were slightly overcooked (as is always the case unless you sub in egg noodles), and the rare steak slices cooked quickly in the broth. We had plenty of Hoi Sin Sauce, Sriracha Sauce, and plates mounding with mint, sprouts, and limes. I love the accoutrements for pho. I especially like eating sprouts while waiting for the pho to arrive. I don't think I am alone in that either =) Pro Tip #2: they have a small coffee shot that my friends absolutely love, but I don't drink coffee so yeah tread lightly as you may soon be uber caffeinated... The parking here isn't bad, its down the street a block from costco, easy freeway access to the 22, and the service is decent. I was looking forward to having some pho and settled on Pho Thanh. As with most things in life settling is not always fruitful. This was no different. First off despite not being busy, it took a good 10 minutes for them to return after dropping off our water We tried explaining to them that we were ready to order, to no avail.... So there is a bit of a language barrier. A problem that is exacerbated by waitress's unwillingness to listen...but we will touch on that later. So finally she comes back, and we do the point at pictures thing so she will get our order right. After 15 minutes wait our Pho comes. At this point I ask if she can bring out some spring rolls for take out, as I wanted to get something as a snack for my friends long day at work. (Such a nice Brandon) The Pho arrived a little warmer than lukewarm and it went down hill from there. The noodles, meat, and veggies were well cooked but there was simply no flavor to the broth. I'm not sure what happened it was as if they poured water into the soup. That would make sense because it wasn't exactly hot. A quarter of the way through the bowl, it was cold. But that was fine....by that time we were done with it. I asked my friend what she thought about the pho, and she agreed with me. Bland Bland Bland. It was very poorly executed. Sad for a place that has Pho in it's name. Back to the language barrier.....we received our to go pack of spring rolls and for some reason they had something very different packed into the bag. I caught the young guy busing tables and explained....he returned in a few minutes with the correct item. I used to like this place and come all the time. Today the service was incredibly horrible, in fact I didn't even get to eat. It took forever to get seated and after I had to grab my own menu, the waiter came down and put a placemat in front of me and walked away and didn't take my order. It wasn't until after I ordered that he told me that they only take cash. So I left hungry, and will probably not go to this place again. Food: Pho Bo (~$6): The broth and the noodles are just amazing; the meat is strangely chopped up as if this was some leftover meat, but it tastes ok. It's tasty overall, but I don't think it's very traditional compared to a bowl in Vietnam. Pho Ga: If you like chicken, then you will probably like this dish; I like the beef noodles better. Com Thit Nuong Trung Chien ($5.95): THE BEST RICE DISH I HAVE EVER EATEN OMG!!! If you like rice and BBQ pork and fried eggs, just get this dish!!! Ca Phe Sua Da: Iced milk coffee. Double check your receipt!!! My parents came here to eat and ordered two eat-in and two bowls of pho for take out (a total of 4) bowls). The woman at the cashier told her to pay $35.When my mom asked to see the receipt, the woman got upset (for getting caught for being dishonest). After running errands all over the place with our last stop at Dalat, we saw this pho place and decided to try it out instead of driving another 10 minutes to our usual spot. The menu is standard like most vietnamese restaurants, service was quick and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. As for the food, it's pretty good. It's definetly a place that satisfied my craving for pho, but nothing spectacular that I would die if I didn't have their pho. If we weren't tired of driving everywhere, we would have gone to our usual spot. I think you get the point. Two plus sides to this place - I got tons of meat for a regular bowl of pho. Oh all the Pho places you could choose....I can't recommend actually choosing this one. The food is average. When I went there they did not actually have some of the items on the menu - this is very annoying. The staff also served beer in a glass of ice - this is majorly wrong!! The staff was friendly and tried to go out of their way to make it a nice experiance. I would however, just describe the experiance as odd, and not as tasty as other places with the same product. I went today to eat pho and overall the workers are very nice and the place is clean and look well-done. The meat of the pho were well-cooked and the vaggies were washed well and they looked fresh, which is a good thing, but when I tasted the water it was flavorless and it doesn't taste the same as the last time I came here. The worst experience ever first of all it's cash only and they absolutely give you no options I also was greeted with a rude unwelcoming manner from the lady in the front saying yes cash only! I came here on Sunday for lunch and opted for To Go and was very satisfied. While I waited, I watched as others all ordered their Pho. They have huge portions and they always bring you the rare beef slices rare on a separate plate so that you can put it into your soup yourself. It was a hot day so I didn't get their Pho but will definitely be back to try it. I ordered a Vermicelli with BBQ pork and a Broken Rice with BBQ pork to go. This place is super shady. The food is okay but many things were kinda off. The bathrooms are shitty. The tables are small. I agree with Matthew C. that the BBQ was probably the best thing about this meal which also came with a fried egg. The soup was had a light broth and was tasty as well.
