Bad Experience. Store was dirty, napkins on the floor, spilled water on the floor, someone almost slipped. Asked for condiments but never brought it. Food/pho was subpar, if you've had good pho, wouldn't recommend. The food is the closest thing to all my homies back in San Jose. #Best Viet place in Florida, hands down. And that's very apparent by how busy it is here. As soon as a table empties, it's filled just as quickly. The Bun Bo Hue reminds me of home. The oxtail Pho broth, so flavorful. The amount of protein on top was even a decent amount for the price. The food itself was enjoyable, but unfortunately the service left a very negative impression. During our visit, one of the more professional servers approached our table and explained that 3-4 other servers had deliberately chosen not to serve us. The reason given was that they believed my guest had not tipped in the past, even though she has. To make matters worse, it was mentioned that because they are paid hourly and do not always receive tips, they did not feel obligated to provide service. This kind of attitude is extremely unprofessional and unfair to paying customers. Regardless of personal feelings toward tipping, when you choose to work in the food service industry, there is an understanding that tipping is never guaranteed. Refusing to serve guests based on assumptions not only creates a hostile dining environment, but also reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole. I truly believe management needs to address this issue, because while the food was good, no level of quality can make up for being treated as though service is optional. I have never been disappointed with the food here. This place has great service the servers are very friendly and tentative. On my last visit I had the rare steak pho and the amount of noodles, to steak and broth was great. This place has really badly gone down the drain since they opening. Been going here for years but unfortunately I think my most recent visit will be my last. Firstly, they list their hours online as closing at 9:30 however If you walk in after 8pm they are gonna give you a very stank look and say "to go only". Secondly, table service is very slow and lacking urgency, I was ignored for 20 minutes before a server came to my table, I ordered a very simple phone special and water. The pho came out about 20 minutes later and I had to ask 3 more times before the server brought my water. Then when it came time to pay the server brought a table side payment system and had preselected a 30% tip for himself. Such a brazen and ballsy thing to do. Won't be coming back till they make some serious changes. Do yourself a favor and go to bowl of pho instead. read more

I stumbled across Pho Today when I was eating next door last time I was in the area, and today was the day to give this place a try. Mind you, I'm a HUGE fan of Vietnamese food. Growing up, many of my close friends were Vietnamese, so we frequented many Pho restaurants. And unlike most of my friends who favored Pho, my all time favorite dish is Bun Thit Nuong, which is rice vermicelli and charbroiled pork. First off, portion size. This had to be the biggest bowl of Bun Thit Nuong I ever had. This can easily feed two. As for the taste, MAN! This was the absolutely BEST Bun Thit Nuong I've ever had in my life. And I've had some spectacular bowls back in the day. Fish sauce! Their fish sauce was on point. Full of flavor and accentuated the already tasty dish. I also had their Ca Phe, which is a strong ice coffee and condensed milk. I started making this at home because I was having a hard time finding a place that made quality Ca Phe, but theirs was fantastic. So happy to have found my Vietnamese restaurant. As first timers they were very impressed and found a great favorite restaurant being newbies in town. Since the fam cooks pho, we're super picky about where we go out to eat it. Pho Today is one of a few spots we hit up in town. The broth on its own is great and you can taste the layers of flavor. They have various sizes for pho - which you will not find in most spots. Great if you have little ones. My faves are pictured: Pho Special which has all the things :) and crispy noodles. We've been here a few times already and it's one of the better pho places here in Jax. The food and service is usually pretty good. When you walk in, it looks like a typical restaurant but I do like the little details that they have like the clocks that shows the times in Florida and Vietnam. However, the restaurant needs a good dusting or two. When we went yesterday night, we all noticed alot of dust around our table. Our server was nice and pretty quick on service. The reason I'm knocking off one star is that we called twice and asked if they had oxtail pho available and both times, they said yes. You see, when we first discovered this restaurant years ago, we tried their oxtail pho and it was the best pho we've ever tasted. I'm Vietnamese and grew up eating my mom's cooking and their oxtail pho was as close to my mother's version. Ever since then, every time we called, they were always out of it. But we were delighted they had it available last night so we drove 38 minutes (me, my husband, sister in law, and her boyfriend), placed our orders of three small oxtail pho bowls and one braised, short rib rice dish with our server and was super super excited. To our disappointment, our server came back and said the last serving of oxtail pho was just given away. We watched where it went and even though we had placed our orders first, the large oxtail pho bowl was given to the table that came after us. Not blaming our waiter at all, I'm assuming he called in our orders too late. It honestly dampened my husband's mood a bit because he was so excited for it after waiting for many years. The rest of us thought the food was still delicious! They decided to switch to the combination pho special instead, which had tripe, cartilage, cuts of beef flank, and beef balls. I had the braised, Korean style short rib rice combo and opted for the shredded pork and egg combo. I also ordered the shrimp and pork fresh spring rolls as an appetizer. My ratings are follows: Shrimp and pork fresh spring rolls: 8/10 - a little mushy on the rice paper (I think they soaked it too long in water) but it was packed with veggies, shrimp, and pork. It fell apart at times because the rice paper was soggy but I enjoyed it with the hoisin sauce. Not sure if the hoisin sauce had peanut in it but I didn't taste it. They didn't have Siracha (due to the shortage) but had another type of hot sauce called Chin-Su that was pretty delicious and spicier. They also had chili oil too at the table. I dressed up the hoisin sauce with the hot sauce and chili oil and it was a banger! Combination Pho Special: 8.5/10 - I tried a bit of the broth from my husband's bowl and it was sweet, herbal, and earthy. My husband doesn't like his broth to have alot of hoisin sauce or hot sauce so it tasted very clean and refreshing to me. When you make pho broth, you have to skim the fat off the surface or else the broth will be very oily, fatty, and greasy with a thick film on top. However, at this restaurant you can tell they put the time in making the pho broth. I tried my SIL bf's bowl that was all dressed up with lots of chili oil, hot sauce, and hoisin sauce and I loved it more! It was delicious! Everyone seemed to enjoy their pho and nothing was left in their bowl afterwards. Braised Korean style short ribs rice combo: 9.8/10 - I've tried many versions of this dish at different Vietnamese restaurants here in Jax and this one takes the prize. The portion size was huge! I got three large pieces of short ribs unlike other places where the sizes were small. The rice to meat ratio was also perfect too as I got the combo that came with either shredded pork or pork cake. The dish if you make it a combo comes extra items including clear soup, egg on top, and shredded pork or pork cake. The shredded pork was flavorful and combined with the pickled veggies (carrots, cucumber and white radish), it was delightful. The short ribs themselves were the star of the whole dish! They were exploding with the distinct flavor of the Korean style marinade and grilled to perfection and glistening with a light coating of scallion oil and fat. I found myself in awe with the flavor of the ribs. Dipping the ribs in the included fish sauce (which I had to added hot sauce and chili oil too of course) was the chef's kiss. The fish sauce was salty, pungent, with a touch of sweetness, and a little tart and that's how I love my fish sauce. The clear soup was the best clear soup I've ever had and it was so refreshing to with the rice. The veggies were also fresh, crunchy, pickled to perfection, and added a nice contrast to the richness of the short ribs. The egg was cooked properly as it has a nice, runny yolk when popped over the rice. I highly suggest getting a bite of the short ribs, rice, runny yolk, veggies, and fish sauce drizzled on top and it will be the best combination that you've ever tried in your life. Overall, a solid place for some authentic Vietnamese cuisine! Check it out! read more

Went to try pho today as one of my coworkers says it's the best pho in town! I was sick for about a week prior to and all I had been craving was a big warm bowl of pho. When we came in, we were immediately asked by a server if we wanted any drinks, and our waters came out fast. The restaurant itself was cozy and quaint. Our table server then came by moments later. I ordered the regular size because I was so hungry. Our food came out so fast and MAN the portions were massive. I always doctor up my pho with sriracha, chili sauce, bean sprouts, cilantro, and ALL of the jalapeños. I only ate about half of it because it was so big, but we got to-go containers. We also wanted lychee bubble tea, but they were out. So we got Thai iced tea bubble tea, which was fine, but I thought the boba tasted a little strange. The crispy egg noodles dish was good too! My only complaint about it all was that the pho wasn't piping hot like I would have liked it to be, but I'll be sure to heat my leftover up a lot! read more
