Came here for lunch. The place is pretty big but they definitely understaff the place. The floor was maybe half full and only one waitress. We probably waited 10 plus minutes just to place our order. We got the lemongrass chicken vermicelli and and the beef flank Pho. They also had bubble teas so we got the papaya one. It took 25 minutes till we even got the bubble drink and another 10 more minutes till we got our food. So we were an hour in to lunch before we even got our food. So the bubble tea was good in flavor but it wasn't smooth at all. It was chunks of ice all in it and it wasn't blended very well. There was a powdery taste to the drink. I think they may need a better blender. The food itself was so-so. The Pho had not much meat on it and the broth wasn't very aromatic and flavorful. The vermicelli was pretty good. It had lemon grass chicken and spring rolls with it. The chicken was good but spring rolls were undercooked and soggy. They did give us a 20% discount at the end. I will give this place another try in couple weeks to see if they worked out the kinks. read more

We enjoyed their pho and beef summer rolls. Their XL pho is the normal size at other restaurants we've eaten at but the prices are also a bit lower than other places. They need a filter for their water. Our server was very sweet. We'll definitely be back. read more

I kinda LOVE this place! During our 3-hour break, my friend and I always come here for really great pho and awesome service. FOOD: Super yummy! I always get the #13 (medium pho with sliced beef) and a thai iced tea. I've also tried the shredded pork summer roll (SO GOOD!) The broth is really flavorful, there's always full condiments, and it's served with a plate of LOTS of lemon, basil, and bean sprouts. The pork summer rolls were actually really filling with really good savory, almost dried pork. Oh and the thai iced tea...OH SHEESH I'M IN LOVE. Perfect size and good ratio of ingredients. And uh, can we talk about their prices? AWESOME! It's like $7 for a medium pho which I can't even finish! My bill usually ranges from $8-$15 depending on what I get/share and I always leave stuffed and satisfied. SERVICE: I love to gush about places with great service! I've never had to wait more than 7 minutes for my food to come and it's always served with a smile. Most of the time there's a really nice soft-spoken lady that seats us and takes our orders. She's SO SO sweet! Always makes sure we're well taken care of, fills our waters, and most importantly SMILES and is GENUINELY GRATEFUL for our patronage. Plus she always offers us candy when we're pau. ATMOSPHERE: So most of the time it's usually empty or has a few people inside eating (probably because it's like 1030 when we get there.) It's actually a really nice relaxing place to eat. They have TV's on the walls and a full bar and an upstairs. I mostly agree with Joanne P.'s review. I like what they did with the restaurant - it feels clean, roomy, and cool (not dark and dingy like the dining room was at Thai Sweet Basil). Ordered some spring rolls and pho. While I found the food to be tasty and the portions adequate, I'm a pretty light eater and used to much larger portions at other pho places. If they increased portion sizes, this would be a 4-star. The dessert was ... interesting. Not my cup of tea, but can't beat free. :) read more

This is not my #1 go to Vietnamese restaurant, but its good if I cant make it there or its too crowded! The spring rolls are yummy and so are their Vermicelli noodle bowls. I always get the one that has sauteed shrimp in it and my boyfriend gets the one with pork and spring rolls. Yummy sauce, good service, quiet place to eat after a long day of work, and they are good on variety on the menu as well. I am a "Duke" now so yeah Im lovin it! read more

First time at this restaurant. It was pretty empty late afternoon. We got seated right away. First impression was good, server was friendly and attentive. Bathroom was clean but only 1 stall had toilet paper. However the food wasn't good. The bubble drinks took so long and flavors were off. Ordered LX pho but only the bowl was LX with lots of soup. Noodles and meats was almost same as regular portion if this was at another pho restaurant. Didn't like the Oxtail soup, it was sweet with mustard cabbage?! Fried chicken wings was just ok. Overall the meal was disappointing. So I look on Yelp during the meal. Sure enough so many others also found this restaurant disappointing. Some said beware and double check the bill as they will overcharge 3% for credit card processing fee. I did recall seeing on the menu that they do add 3% if paid by card. So I decided to pay cash to avoid the extra charge. But the server gave us the bill already added the extra 3% without even asking if we were paying cash or charge. I can't stand businesses trying to cheat their customers. We will never return again. read more

This place is pure love. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome. This wonderful woman greets you--I think she's the owner, but I'm not sure. No matter how many people walk in, she magically gives her attention to each and every one of them. The service is attentive, but never pushy. The ambience makes you want to linger. I was originally turned off by this place because they don't have Vietnamese beef stew. Why?? I finally made it here for dinner because my friend wasn't feeling too good, and the food options were limited. Before I state all the negatives, I must say that the service is great. They are all very friendly, and very accommodating. We ordered the summer rolls, she had pho, and I had the chicken crispy noodles. The summer rolls looked like they were made in the morning and they were sitting in the refrigerator until we ordered it, 12 hours later. The ends were hard, and we couldn't even bite it. My friend liked the pho, and I thought the crispy noodles were pretty good, but soon after the MSG headache kicked it. I was down for the count. Before that happened, I ordered the spring rolls to go. I thought it was okay. Overall, maybe I'll get the spring rolls to go again, but I won't be getting the summer rolls or any other meal from there. The two stars are because the servers earned them. read more

If you find yourself in Manoa and want Vietnamese food it is advisable to head towards downtown or Kaimuki. Or go to Insomnia. This place is poor in just about every category of traditional Vietnamese cuisine. The spring rolls, a staple of Vietnamese dining, are more Chinese than Vietnamese. It's tasteless and greasy. No fresh ingredients to wrap the roll around. The pho is very bland and forgettable. Totally worthless and a bit overpriced. Staff here are attentive, but quick with recommendations that are poorly executed. The chicken wings are horrible. I mean horrible. I suppose the only reason this place can exist is due to the dearth of Vietnamese places in the area. Take some advice and head out of the valley. read more

First time here, a little hidden on the second floor of the shopping center but the pink awning tries to stand out. It's a fairly large place with high ceilings due to having a second floor of rooms, maybe it was a karaoke place prior? Great friendly service and the broth was very flavorful compared to others. Went there yesterday Oct 22, 2014. Had the combination Pho. When the been sprout and basil side arrived, there was a rolled up and crumbled straw wrapper in the bean sprouts. The straw wrapper is likely from a previous diner's meal. Clearly they recycle and reuse their left over vegetables from previous diners. Is this up to code? I eat here a few times a month with my daughter. It seems to be empty most of the time so we can be loud and take up space if we want to. I am not a huge fan of Vietnamese cuisine in general but there are a few things on their menu I love, like #35, vermicelli noodles with roast pork. It's got this sauce you pour over the whole deal with fresh mint and basil--so good! Pho is good but not psyched on the rest of the menu so far. The staff (owners I think) are super friendly. Oh, and the fried bananas wrapped up like egg rolls with ice cream is predictably delicious. For my daughter and I, these reasons warrant 4 starts. Plus it's across the street for us. Check it out if your in the area but probably don't make a special trip for it. read more

Came on a Sunday for lunch to Pho Viet. Service and food was good. Huge menu. So many selections to choose from. Had the chicken sandwich and bbq chicken bunn (rice noodle). Both were very good. Prices are reasonable. Definitely will be coming back when I'm in the Manoa area again. read more

It tasted good. When i got the bill i decided to check the total but rarely do i check the tax. Good thing i did. She charged 3% more thinking we were going to charge. The upside was they gave a lot of basil, have this very tasty hot oil/sauce (not sriracha or the garlic hot sauce), I got 20% discount (I don't know why), and a tapioca dessert (free for I also don't know why). Vegetarian pho can be found here! The lady that took my order over the phone and then greeted me at the desk was very sweet and friendly. She explained to me how customers had been requesting a vegetarian version of pho so the cooks created one, made with vegetables and without msg. I was excited to try it! When I dished it up at home, it turned into a heaping bowl of steaming vegetables, tofu and noodles, topped off with fresh thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, sriracha and lemon juice. But with my first spoonful, I was disappointed to taste that the broth was quite bland. I had to add twice as much plum sauce than I normally do to give it some flavor. I also ordered the vegetarian spring rolls, which came with vermicelli, mint, cucumbers, julienned carrots and lettuce. They were a bit on the small side, and a little greasy. Comparable to most spring rolls out there. I'm gonna give this place another try, in hopes that maybe the broth just needed to simmer a little longer! read more

tried to go to several different pho places one day but they were closed so ended up trying Pho Viet Thien. Instead of getting pho I selected the beef stew. I have never had Vietnamese Beef Stew so I thought I would give it a try. It was actually good, I liked it. The meat was very soft and it and had some tendon and tripe in it. The only vegetable in there though were carrots. It's nothing like what you think of beef stew but it was good to try. I also thought the service was really good. read more

This is my go-to pho place. It might be a little pricey, but it is convenient and the service is great. I always get the pork vermicelli and it has never failed me. The exterior/ interior are very lively with color and lights. Pink paint with different lights everywhere and a bar. All in all, I enjoy this place.
