    Dim sum
    Wil L.

It's been about a few months since my last visit for dim sum and decided to go yesterday again to revisit. I'm not sure what has changed but the food is definitely different. The shrimp dumplings (ha gow) is now wrapped in a thick dumpling wrapper rather than a thinner one. It tasted too pasty. Some of the food items came out luke warm. The variety is definitely a lot less than previous. It feels like they've purchased more items frozen rather than make them in house. I know this restaurant has struggled in recent years and the family is working hard to get business back. I want to continue to support hard working business owners so I hope they can find a way to relook at the food quality again.

To start with, we visited on a Monday (happened to be MLK holiday) at lunchtime. We thought it seems very busy and hopping, but later we realized they probably get busier at other times, hence the rather limited selection. My dining companion is gluten-free and neither one of us likes pork, so options were limited. We were served promptly and politely and got shrimp shu Mai, congee (which ended up disappointedly having pork in it, but there was a language barrier when the cart came around, so we didn't make a big thing of it). I also enjoyed the beef lo mein- so fabulous! A shame my dining companion couldn't try it. We did love the chrysanthemum tea! We were offered many more pork dishes, and buns/sweets that would have not worked for my friend. We patiently waited, hoping a vegetable or two might come around, but no. The same 3 carts with the same offerings kept coming around. The ambiance was nice, clearly popular with locals! I was visiting from out of town, which is what I'm assuming this. I'd definitely go back again to try, and hope to see more variety. Well done, folks!

While searching for restaurants to try when visiting AZ, I came across Phoenix Palace. After seeing that recent reviews were quite good, we decided that we would give them a try. We were here on a Sunday for an early dinner. Upon entering, I noticed the decor and thought to myself "Old school Chinese restaurant", the type that's rarely seen anymore. The place wasn't busy at all. However, they do a lot of takeout business. A very nice lady who was also our server took us to our table. It was a round table with plenty of room to seat the six of us. Also, the perfect size for a large lazy Susan (as an aside---I never liked that name for it :O). It turns out that the lazy Susan was perfect for our table. There were no worries about trying to pass a plate of food, just spin the lazy Susan until it reached you. My husband and I had looked at the menu and wanted the Mandarin dinner for two . It comes with appetizers, hot and sour soup and a choice of 2 entrees. We both decided on Mongolian beef and shrimp with garlic sauce. Our grandsons and their Dad were thinking of ordering a la carte but the nice lady told them that the cheapest way to go was getting a preset dinner. They agreed to the Canton dinner which came with wonton soup, appetizers and a choice of entrees. They got two sweet and sour chicken dinners. One grandson insisted on ordering vegetable fried rice for himself. We really enjoyed the food. The Mongolian beef was the best I've ever had---tender beef with a hint of spice and lots of green onions. The hot and sour soup had lots of stock with the hot and the sour flavors quite noticeable. The appetizer portion had three different items in it---dumplings, egg rolls and crab puffs (which were similar to crab Rangoon). In the "family dinners", the soup comes in a large bowl with a ladle so one can take what one wants. There is one thing I must point out as the menu doesn't mention it---the wonton soup has shrimp in it. We found that out when the nice lady started to serve it to our son-in-law and we all piped up and said "He's allergic to shrimp". At the end of the meal, we were given dessert items. I don't know what they were called and the menu gave no clue. They were fried balls of some sort. Some had a paste-like filling while the other seemed to have some fruit in it. My husband really liked his shrimp with garlic. The grandkids and their Dad also liked what they ordered. The portions here are huge! We packed up the leftovers with the help of the nice lady. Our son-in-law and one of our grandsons both work in the same place and they had more than enough food for their work lunches the next day. We all agree that this one is a keeper and a return visit will be in order.

This is our favorite dimsum place .. love the cart moving around and we get to pick dimsum choices similar to that of Asian

Mannnn I'm so sorry guys I keep forgetting to take pics before I eat. Dim sum here is the best. Even regular dinner and lunch is amazing here. Everything here is amazing except.... Sadly the bathrooms need renovations. Please if you are the owner PLEASE spend $$ to renovate your bathrooms. The hot mustard here only one lady makes it and she's so good at it. I highly recommend getting hot mustard. Also get the tea.

Dim sum freshly made but when I got there late 1.30pm not much left . Reasonable pricing . Service ok .

The food was really good. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, Singapore Mei fun noodles, and also the special house fried rice. Everything was flavourful and the portion was huge. (This was meant for family style sharing.) The service was good. Waitress was attentive and I would definitely come back again.

Didn't have to wait long at all and there were chairs at the entrance. As soon as we sat down we were asked what we wanted to drink and the carts promptly stopped by shortly after. The food was pretty good but admittedly it might be because we picked what we knew we would like such as chicken feet, shrimp shumai and pork ribs. The one thing we didn't quite like was the calamari since it seemed like there was too much breading but that's not normally something we'd order at dim sum so that's fine. Overall for two people the service was fast and price was reasonable. Would love to stop by again if we're in the area!

Great place for some simple Chinese food! Pictured is; spicy Mongolian beef and chow fun with beef $15/dish and given with white rice!

    Menu as of 01/2026

Extremely pricey for a whole chicken (贵妃鸡) $41 including tax. The chicken has no taste at all and the meat is very cold, must sat at their refrigerator for days, it's the WORST chicken I've ever eaten in Arizona and CA. Restaurant is empty at Sunday dinner time (realized there's a reason for the emptiness). I rated 4 stars so people can able to see the review, the food are zero star .

Amazing Dim Sum Aloha it's so sad they will be closing doors this year. We're going to miss the good Chinese food

They serve all your classic dim sum favorites to the even eclectic options (Tripe, chicken feet). They still take the traditional approach of pushing carts around. The one big differentiator is the service, the team here was very attentive and ensure that our glasses were always full. The prices are reasonable for the food quality and definitely work a try. Food Quality (3/5): the food was flavorful but some of the dishes came out like warm at best. Not sure if the steamers were working in the carts. There is ample variety as well. Service (4/5): we were greeted and sat quickly. They got waters and tea to the table and the waters were always filled. They don't do a good job of clearing your table though, so be mindful that your table may get a little cluttered. Price (4/5): The prices were average for this establishment. It was just a little over 30 per person for the three of us. Atmosphere (4/5): Nice and spacious and appeared to be clean. Restrooms are outside of the restaurant, which can be tough if you're sitting at the far end of the restaurant.

My family is from Taiwan and so I was looking forward to coming here and giving it a try. Now granted, I am picky when it comes to Taiwanese food, so if not made right, you will know about it. We ordered the ground pork over rice and Taiwanese braised pork over rice combos. Both dishes were pretty good. I dont have high expectations here in Phoenix and I was pleasantly surprised! We also checked out their cold case and lots of comforting dishes like Taiwanese pickled cabbage, marinated pig ears, marinated seaweed and tofu gan. We got an order of the seaweed and tofu gan and it was good. Also had a boba tea to go and it was as expected. Boba was chewy like it should be and for $3.35, pretty good deal. Overall, the food was good and there is a specials daily menu by the cash register but its written in Chinese, so you probably need to ask the owner what specials they are having or bring me with you! When we came tonight there was eel over rice, 3 cups chicken over rice combo and papaya milk and green bean sweet soup. I'd definitely come back here again when Im in the mood for Taiwanese food but I would skip dining in. I felt like I was in some school cafeteria, zero ambiance. But the food was legit!

In the case of Chinese food we look for good staple dishes to give us an idea of the quality of the kitchen, and the food that comes from it. Egg Rolls, Greneral Tso's, Moo Sho and Orange Chicken are all good tell tales for us. Today, we tried Red Dragon for the first time in many years, they were once our number one goto fo Chinese delivery. Mainly because the food was top notch but also because the delivery was fast and acurate and the prices were terrific. Alas, none of these things is true any longer. The pork egg rolls were amazingly devoid of pork or anything else but poorly cleaned cabbage which stank to high heaven. I have never experienced a smelly egg roll before. The lunch specials are served with your choice of soup, I had the wanton and my wife the hot and sour. Both were served at a tepid temperature and probably should have been heated when we arrived home but we soldiered on. (Oh yes, when ordering on-line, delivery was NOT an option and we had to go get our delivery Chinese food.) The wanton soup had a odd chemical taste to it and the wantons themselves were like mush. The hot and sour soup was neither. The entrees were orange chicken and general Tso's chicken. They tatsed exactly the same as each other and the veg tasted like well, nothing. There was a small pool of sauce at the bottom of each bowl and even the rice had no texture or character at all. They reminded me mostly of bad frozen microwave meals. Even the fortune cookies were stale, it was a very depressing meal. The restaurant itself did not smell of food when we went to pick up our order, it smelled of cigarette smoke instead and that should have given us the heads up but we went ahead and bought our "food" anyway. I can't say that we will be giving Red Dragon a second bite at the apple, they did give us any indication that they were interested in being a GOOD choice for Chinese food.
