I visited Phorage because from word of mouth I heard that they finally served good pho in WLA. When I came here I ordered the chicken pho and my boyfriend ordered natural beef pho. We came close to closing time, so they gave my bf oxtail instead because they ran out of brisket meat. Overall, yes, the pho was better than other pho restaurants in WLA. The broth tasted clean, definely no MSG, and the meat was fresh. BUT, I think I've just been too spoiled previously living near Little Saigon in OC where pretty good pho only costs $3. Not to mention I've had some excellent homemade pho for free. This probably sounds super cheap of me, but I really can't bring myself to come back here and pay $9/bowl for pho (my bf also agrees). Banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) here are $8 too I believe, which I definitely can't see my self buying either because of the outrageous price. read more

Hungry and nearby, I put in an order to go. Two bahn mi sandwiches and the bok choi with garlic and mushrooms. With about 6 people seated already and half of them eating you might think my order would have been out in 10-15 minutes. My order came out 40 minutes later. That's 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches, with most of the ingredients ready to be placed on bread. And bok choi. 40 minutes was too long to wait for sandwiches that were a little soggy, bland and less spicy and unpickled than other bahn mi offered in the area. The bok choi was overly greasy, and had no mushrooms despite the description on the menu. There's no need to head back and try again. While the staff seemed pleasant, the $26 meal wasn't worth the wait or the lack of flavor. read more

I am always very skeptical about pho restaurants whose name is a pun because as we all know, authentic ones always have some random number in it i.e pho 87. Even the decor of the restaurant looked very westernized so I had low expectations. However, i was pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, it is americanized, HOWEVER, the broth was quite good and the oxtail was delicious. This is also the only pho place on the westside that has oxtail. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars and will likely not eat here often is the price. $11 for a bowl of pho is outrageous to me. Especially when i have other cheaper options closeby. So all in all i would recommend giving it a try at least once for the oxtail or maybe some other dish, but i personally don't plan to for the pho unless they lower prices. read more

If you're Vietnamese it have ever had legitimate Vietnamese food in your life, avoid. This place will sorely disappoint and you will no doubt leave feeling ripped off. I'm Vietnamese and I have a high standard set for pho. For one, Vietnamese restaurants charge $6/$7 for a good Bowl. This place charges $11/12!!?!?!? For a bowl I can't believe is mostly bland soup. Where do I begin? My girlfriend picked up food for us on Sunday night and we were both incredibly disappointed. Upon unpacking our meal we discovered the jidori chicken we ordered was incredibly cold, when I say cold I mean refrigerated. It felt like they had taken someone else's meal from earlier in the day and thrown it in a plastic bag. I ordered chicken pho and asked for extra vegetables and noodles which they did not provide. I called up and spoke to the manager Alan and he was Incredibly rude and unsympathetic. All I was looking for was either a discount or a refund for NOT providing me what I ordered. Alan was very rude and abrupt and hung up on me twice. Honestly I am beside myself, their food is mediocre at best but their manager Alan is really lacking at social skills. I wouldn't go back there for anything. Their pho is way too salty and their food is below par. Go to pho show down the street. Simply great! I found this place after intense online search since I stopped going to East Wind in Westside pavilion because of the owner's daughter's consistent and intentional rudeness to me. 1. Clean environment 2. Pho: Not authentic, but more delicious this way. 3. Healthy: MSG Free 4. Great service: Jeremy, the caucasian manager, was super friendly and patient. This place is only 5 min walk from where I live. So, I will definitely keep coming back. Wow. Worst vegetarian banh mi of my life! Ordered through Postmates. It tasted like a 2 day old sandwich that was reheated. The bread was so rock hard that I had to break the pieces off to get at the tofu. And the bread should be amazing! There are way better places. And the tofu was nasty!! Rubbery, no flavor. I was soooo disappointed as I checked reviews before ordering. The cilantro was like 3-4 inch stems that I had to pull from every terrible bite. Mayo was gross too. Finally just trashed it. Fine, pho on the west side from what used to be a popular dining spot. But the food was just so mediocre. Another guy at the cashier who thought he was too cool to answer questions. I don't know why restaurant owners do not take the time to train their staff that SERVICE SERVICE is everything. Ok, if the guy seems to be more interested in his smart phone and not helping out, hopefully the food is better. The Pho was plain too salty. Then we had a drip coffee as well. Holy Moly... the thing was all pure cream. I took a photo and was going to post it but just didn't want to take the time. I think this is my first two star and I hate giving this but for $13 for some Pho(cking) noodles, Coffee that tasted like milk, impossible parking and a guy behind the counter who didn't seem to care if we ate there or not.....wow. that is definitely a way to get a 1 star. I have been to Phorage 4 times in the last two weeks. I rarely write reviews but was compelled by my new found love. Beef Pho - Clean broth, perfectly cooked noodles, fresh beef Oxtail Pho - Awesome creation, why hasn't anyone else ever done this? Tender and flavorful oxtail, clean broth, and once again perfect noodles Chicken Banh Mi - Fresh bread, fresh chicken, tart pickled vegetables, def worth a try Egg rolls - What is not to like about egg rolls? Crispy and warm, perfect when served with lettuce and vermicelli. Overall, I think it's the best you can get on the west side. Some people complain you won't enjoy it if your vietnamese....blah blah blah I don't know how you can dislike the perfectly executed broth. No extra fat/oil or msg. I can say this was an awesome 100% authentic modern viet meal. read more

This place was great. Food was really tasty and I thought it looked great inside. Was impressed to see their statement about being clean and not using MSG etc. Big plus for me. I'm not pho expert, but I live near a few crappy cheap places and they're not only pretty tasteless but my mouth usually feels like I've licked a cat for the next day or two. I got really excited about this place because I live really nearby and love pho so much. It's not the best pho I've ever had but it is very very good. I get the chicken pho and add veggies which they are a little light on for my taste. The flavor is delicious though. Also the imperial roles are AMAZING. This place gets 3.7 stars in my book. This was the first place I had ever tried pho and I would give this place 5 stars back when it opened. I probably came here once a month and tried different things including the beef pho, chicken vermicilli, spring rolls, broken rice plate, and also the chicken bahn mi. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but something about the quality of food started to diminish. The amount of meat started to get smaller, broth started to taste bland and there was some inconsistency that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Stopped by for a quick meal while visiting my old stomping grounds and was definitely impressed. The decor of the restaurant was a nice change from typical spots around here. First review of mine for 2016. This is me and my fiance's go-to spot for Pho in Palms. Only because Pho Show and Super Pho and Teriyaki are sub-par to our liking. Only drawback about this restaurant is that it charges $10.50 for the free range chicken bowl and $13 for the oxtail soup. A bit pricey for pho. That, and if you order online via Eat24, don't expect to get your food right away. My fiancé placed our order for pick up and I waited at the restaurant for 45minutes until our food was ready. My girlfriend and I love to try new Pho spots. This place was featured as thrillist.com "best Pho spot in Los Angeles." Finally got to try this place out with a couple friends and was kinda disappointed. We had order the American Wagyu and Oxtail Pho soup. Soup was very bland and just watered down. Great decor, food and service. This little gem is tucked away in the corner of a little plaza, they have amazing specials, great aesthetic, and just a solid pho addition to the area. They also have a smaller shop in the play del rey area near marina del rey as well. read more

Decor is nice. Location even better for us westsiders. Service was... serviceable. The pho was good, but I feel sometimes with pho, there's a certain curve. There's bad pho, then there's okay to good pho, and then there's the really good pho that make up a small percentage of all the pho places. This falls under the okay to good pho that most pho places fall under; even the oxtail pho was just okay/good. But then to top it off with the one of the higher pho prices on the Westside, makes this place somewhat unremarkable. read more

This would be a great place if they had a vegetarian option. Unfortunately they don't if you want Pho. They will add tofu but then ask if you want "chicken" or "beef" broth. Hmmm neither I'm a vegetarian- so vegetable broth. No such luck :-( Really bums me out because it's a cool place and the servers seem nice. Hands down the worst pho I have tasted in my life and I have tried many different pho's, on both coast and in many different establishments... first of all there was 4 pieces of stringy chicken and they were fatty... the whole broth flavor was very beefy, pork like but I ordered chicken... the Bahn Mi was very well made and it was tasty.
