Can't believe I haven't written a review about this place! I've come here for close to 10 years on and off. And over the years, I think they've improved and added more items to their menu. I don't know if they can count as a cheap eat, but it is really affordable and the quality is quite good. My favorite item is your natural oxtail pho! Only a few Vietnamese places offer this dish and I think there's is one of the best! If you're a meat eater, or if you like fall off the bone, short ribs, then this is the dish for you. We've also tried their Wagyu beef pho and liked it too. Very tentative service, though they are always busy with lots of takeout orders, they remember to take care of the dine in customers. A very small and casual place, the ambience is relaxed and day-to-day bistro. It's a great restaurant for this neighborhood (Palms, Cheviott Hills ) and I hope they keep doing good business here.

I appreciated the quick service and being able to support a vietnamese restaurant out on the Westside. The Bun Bo Hue was solid- good amount of spice and beef bone flavor, with plenty of meat. The only thing I might change is to slice the meat a bit thinner and add more noodles. I also liked the pork vermicelli bowl - light and the meat was perfectly marinated and cooked! Wish that the fish sauce had more oomph to it, but it helped to add lime and sambal. Definitely recommend if you need something to satisfy a craving for viet food, although it doesnt really compare to food found in Little Saigon.

Tasty broth and fun promotion on DoorDash. I loved the depth for a vegan broth. The tofu that comes with the vegan pho is fried. I didn't see any unfried options on the menu. Sometimes it's too heavy and the crunchy texture isn't always needed. I'd order again and not get tofu.

Was craving pho in the morning so decided to give a local shop a try since it was within 10 mins of walking distance. I'll say it was one of the most disappointing Pho I've tried in a very long time and I expected better. Pho's most important part - broth. It had a slight funky sourness to it with no in-depth flavor. Nothing screamed of broth boiling over night nor did it taste traditional. Not even close to even a modern Pho restaurants. The shop is rather small and its most definitely not a traditional pho, but an interesting twist to it. Imo not to its benefit. Also, it took about 25 mins for it to come out where usually it takes 5 MAYBE 10. Positives: Oxtail fell off the bone and tendons great giving it 3 stars.

No salt on 3! 3-2-1 , salt tha pho! Salt the pho! Never have I ever had pho broth that was so absolutely tasteless. It was like slurping mildly acidic water. The broth carries the pho-- without it , it's DOA. Okay the Wagyu beef brisket is fine and all, but when it basks in the broth it's gonna absorb more flavor. No addition there either so subtract a couple stars. I mean you can tell the line cook didnt give a tittle if he's gonna give me old and expired crusty sriracha sauce. Wonder how I know? The paste was like a sickening brown hue instead of vibrant blood red. Must have been like over a year old bottle. No excuse me while I go forage for an actual decent meal as whatever it is it won't be here .

Visited on a Saturday night. The restaurant is tucked inside a small business plaza with a few parking spots and some street parking nearby. The vibe inside was pleasant and we were greeted by a friendly waiter. He recommended three dishes: the Imperial Rolls, Chicken Clay Pot, and Wagyu Beef Pho. They all sounded great, so we went with his suggestions. Food arrived fairly quickly. The Imperial Rolls were delicious and crispy, but the portion was surprisingly small, just two rolls. The Chicken Clay Pot was also on the small side, with a single chopped chicken breast served alongside a bowl of rice. Unfortunately, it was too heavily on salty-sweet sauce, overcooked chicken, it's just ok. The biggest disappointment was the Wagyu Pho. It came with only two slices of Wagyu and two slices of regular beef, and the broth was watery. It completely lacks the rich depth you expect from a good pho. On the bright side, the service was friendly, so maybe I just caught the kitchen on an off night.

My wife and I have ordered the Natural Pork Vermicelli with Imperial Roll from Phorage over five times, always through Uber Eats since we prefer enjoying our meals at home. While we truly enjoy the flavors and concept of their dishes, the consistent quality control issues have become impossible to overlook. Out of those five orders, four had major problems -- wilted or old lettuce, burnt meat, or some other sign that the food wasn't prepared with care. The final straw was our most recent order, where more than half the meal was just fat. Absolutely gross and inedible. It's disappointing because the food could be great if they maintained consistent freshness and quality. Unfortunately, after giving them multiple chances, we're done. We're now on the search for a better alternative that respects customers enough to deliver what they promise.

This has to be the worst pho in town. The taste of the chicken pho has drastically gone down hill and has an overly salty and fish sauce taste. It's so bad no amount of water to dilute the taste helps. Overall I was only able to have a few bites and the rest was wasted. Service is good and the team is attentive. Just the food has gone drastically down hill over the years.

My initial review was written on 8/1, and was quickly replied to by the business owner because the photos I attached were not of their business but of another Pho restaurant that my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed. In my edit I put the link to that review, but I guess it violated the Yelp terms of service and my review was subsequently removed. My friends and family can all attest to the fact that I regularly eat extremely bland foods (eg. salad with no dressing) and almost always get dehydrated when eating out. Having said that, the broth was beyond bland and seemed liked it was separated into two layers even after mixing - almost as if flavor was just mixed in or something. The spring rolls tasted fine. Yelp's 2 star says, "Could've been better" and that's exactly how I felt about my food from Phorage. read more

I decided to try this place out and they are currently only doing to-go orders. I ended up getting their Jidori Chicken Broken Rice Bowl, Pho Birria de Res, and a Thai Tea Boba. The Jidori Chicken Broken Rice Bowl was simple and had a good amount of chicken with rice and some veggies on the side paired with a sweet fish sauce. It was simple, but tasty and straightforward. I kinda wished that it had some more herbs and veggies to lighten the overall meal. The Pho Birria de Res was very interesting since it is a fusion between the Mexican stewed broth with Vietnamese pho. I really like the concept, but the broth itself was a bit lacking in flavor and was missing depth. The rice noodles that it came with were a bit too clumped up together as well and took a bit of reheating to get it to separate. The veggies that it came with was shredded cabbage and jalapeños with plenty of limes to brighten the dish. It's an intriguing dish, but can be executed better. The Thai Tea Boba was decent. The tapioca pearls were a little bit tough, but not too bad. Not the best boba that I have had, but alright. Hopefully when they are able to open back up for dine-in the quality will improve. read more

Hello all I order from door dash and cant imagine the extra freshness at resturant experience once im able to make it.. Anyhow for my experience at take out through doordash Everything about phorage is awesome and fresh!! the chicken jidori bahm mi is the most amazing for me that I've had ever.. the bread is crispt / crunchy out of the oven fresh.. I got the Waygu Beef Pho with the crispy chicken dumplings. The Pho was VERY good, This savory and "cozy" soup is perfect for a cold day. The dumplings were a list min choice and good but the Pho was the show stealer. The to go container for soup is always hit or miss and these guys did it right. read more

What happened Perry? This used to be our go to place when we worked in the area. We ate here practically daily. My favorite was the chicken in clay pot, herbaceous, earthy loaded with umami and all the right stuff for a home cooked meal It's now a random mess of diced chicken thigh (think KungPao from the worst Asian restaurant) overly reduced and salty beyond comprehension, with just oyster sauce and soy sauce read more

Service was really great! The lady who helped me was very nice and attentive during my visit. My low review is for the pho. Unfortunately, the pho was super salty and bland at the same time. I usually finish my broth, but for this one I couldn't. I tried adding basil, hoisin, sriracha but the broth was still bland. The serving size was pretty good and they gave me a good amount of protein. It's also pretty pricey. Wish I liked it, but the flavors weren't there and I expected it to be better, especially for the price point. read more

If you're looking for a nearby neighborhood Pho spot this is it! The Washugyu Beef is phenomenal, Wagyu in Pho is something to really enjoy and I look forward to it on a regular basis. Not only that but that have a great selection of beers and ciders. Can't help but notice some other negative reviews; some people are just too pessimistic to enjoy a good meal. 10/10 recommended. read more

In the spirit of being honest, i will start this review with a disclaimer that it's walking distance from my house. That being said, i would not be a repeat customer if i didn't love it. the fried imperial rolls are literally-- the best. i know people that go there ONLY for the rolls. Due to the covid weight i've already gained, i usually only allow myself to eat one, which comes with the Bun, so it works out. The pork Bun is delicious, but if you're in the mood for something that feels a little healthier, order the chicken Bun which is so delicious. I'm not a huge pho lover so i'll spare you my review, i do know anything they make with oxtail is super good IMO. Tikifish (poke) is operating out of phorage during covid, i am guilty of ordering Bun and poke in one visit. Love this little Vietnamese joint, and hope they make it through the pandemic, staff is awesome. if you're driving, there's a convenient lot to park and pick up. read more

I was shockingly surprised - I thought the pho was really good and I like the meat portions (got the wagyu beef pho and added meatballs) I also really enjoyed the shrimp and pork spring rolls. They were on the smaller side but still good. But also like $12 so like maybe not. Vibe was also good not stale - great place to gossip with your girls at 10 am read more

Hit the spot for all my Viet cravings. Came in the afternoon on Sunday and it was a bit busy. So glad to be introduced to this spot on my visit in Cali. Great price point and amazing food! Food: 4/5 Delicious all around. They have some cool beer selections but we went with sodas instead. What was ordered: - Imperial Roll - Didn't realize that the vermicelli noodles come on the side, but still really good with the sauce mixed in. Rolls were perfectly crispy and not greasy at all. - Washugyu Beef Pho - The broth to my pho was flavorful yet not too salty. Just the right amount of beef and noodles. - Jidori Chicken Broken Rice - Chicken was juicy and tender. Reminds me of a grilled chicken, which would go great with pho too - Berkshire Pork Banh Mi - Very filling with good portion. My friend had to save half to bring home. Ambience: 4/5 Casual and cute with rustic decor. Not a big space, but they were able to comfortably seat about 6 small groups (2-4 people) without everyone being too close to each other. Service: 4/5 I believe they recently opened up their seating area so they may have been short staffed. Our server was very apologetic about the wait time, though we hadn't been waiting longer than 5 mins after we got seated. Would recommend for a casual meal. read more

Granted, we came at a dead time around 4.. but between the very instagram friendly 'hip' industrial decor, and a modern over priced banh mi sandwich, we left pretty disappointed. We ordered a "natural pork" vermicelli, and a berkshire pork banh mi. The ipad attendant waiting for her break was rude while we were ordering, until the end when we asked for a box. (you know, the "I can't be bothered" look) We sat through 30 minutes worth of terrible band music before what we ordered hit the table. Banh mi - solid sandwich. The bread, meat, and pickles all check out. Vermicelli - A lady with no auto insurance has rear-ended me at a red light, I've lost my brother to a cult, and this was still the biggest disappointment of 2017. The dish arrived with 'locally sourced' week old bean sprouts with a side of chopped romaine and mint, next to a cha gio roll deep fried in old oil with bits of burnt residue, and re-grilled or air-dried in partial marinade natural pork placed on top of poorly revived rice noodles. I poured the fish sauce "vinaigrette" over the plate while wondering how much rent on the west side must cost for them to think it was reasonable to charge $11.50 for the dish. Or how they spent a whole 30 minutes putting together total garbage on a plate. The reviews look like they're inconsistent in their dishes, so I thought I'd share. I had a horrible experience here. I would be ashamed if I were the owner of this establishment, I feel completely disrespected as a woman!!! I went to pick up my food for take out and when I entered I was the only one waiting for food. I told the lady at the front that I was here to pick up my food, and she said give me a minute while it looked like she was ringing in a check, fine. Then, maybe 5 minutes later 1 man comes in to pick up their food, and we are waiting for the lady at the front to help us. Another lady comes over from the back and asks the man if he's waiting for food, then checks on his food for him but COMPLETELY IGNORES ME, a woman, and does not ask about what I'm waiting for, and walks away to the back. After this, 2 more men walk in. Then the lady at the front is done with her previous task and again COMPLETELY IGNORES ME while she helps the men first. She asked all 3 men what they were waiting for etc. before even acknowledging me. Again, I entered the business first and I could see that my food was ready to be picked up. Only after all of the men had been helped was I then given my food. I do not care how good the food is here, I will not be returning to this place EVER! The flavors are solid. Lots of depth for what they claim as no MSG Pho. Always the cynic, I suspect what they meant to say was no "added" MSG, because usually, there is some MSG hidden in the sauces used, which most restaurants ignore. But if this is truly MSG-free, and the broth is completely made from scratch, it is some amazing feat. The flavorful broth is neither too salty or too bland. Really hits the spot. My complaints are the service time. Yeah, it was a busy Saturday right after opening, but 45 minutes for a bowl of Pho is a bit too long, especially for a grumpy noodle lover like me. Especially for a restaurant that seems to try to push efficiency by making customers get their own water. The broth is not supposed to be a flavor bomb. You bomb the flavor yourself. They did a good job with the pho. It hit the spot and was a good value. We didn't get the imperial rolls, but we did get the veggie imperial rolls. We weren't thrilled by the flavor, but you don't need to be flavor packed when the dipping sauce is that good. The dipping sauce was absolutely delicious. So powerful. Umami, acid, sweet, salty, etc. Yum. The texture on the rolls was good, but could be improved. They didn't hold together too well. If i could give 0 stars i would. I never write reviews but this place deserves the worst. Ordered online and they were backed up 1 hour than expected pick up time with no explanation. Place was packed in front with people waiting for food with no one at the counter to explain. I called and asked the wait time. They said one hour longer with no explanation or apology. I then told him that they should have someone at the counter to explain to waiting people and the response was "yeaaaah". The stupidest response ever. No one should go to this place. I understand this is the west side of LA but If youre gonna charge $40 for 2 then at least give us $40 worth for 2 ..which I know is impposible at a Pho restaurant.. After I read the reviews we decided to get beef pho and oxtail pho and Imperial roll for appetizer, The waiter brought both pho before the appetizer and veges , limes for the pho.. We had to eat the pho without bean spruts and lines and all the greens.... I didn't like the broth at all. Something was taste very strong but I don't know what it was. Imperial roll was just ok. Pretty sad that I have to leave this review, but after numerous times ordering from this restaurant their portions get smaller and smaller. And when I confront the employees on the portions they always ask for more money. Their prices are high enough for pho, the very least they can do is give you a normal serving portion. The oxtail pho is really good. Comes bone-in. The 2 times I went service was weird. Seems like they get overwhelmed when more than 3 tables are occupied. Each time they forgot the drink order before the pho arrived. And when they finally (after a few reminders) took care of the drink orders, 1 was missing. This happened both times. Their pho is the best I've ever had. My favorite is the beef but the chicken is also great. I don't get the other items besides pho here..... once I got a salad and it was fine but not great and it was pretty small. Also got a sandwich once and it was nothing to return for.
