    Passion fruit Cruffin

Will definitely have to come back for lunch at some point. Came for the dessert and it did not disappoint! Everything was delightful- the cruffin was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The swan dessert was a symphony of surprises with all the textures- the crunch of the outer meringue shell, the custard dollop on top, the white chocolate swan pieces, and inside a raspberry filling and some crunchy bits.

Attentive and highly-knowledgeable service makes for a very smooth and enjoyable experience. While indoors some of the table placement can feel a little tight (especially the window nooks with two tables), the outdoor seating is a reason to go all to itself. The mains are scrumptious. We ordered the lobster roll and a quiche. The pastries are divine - from creme filled brioches to banana pudding eclairs! So fun, so delicious!

Stayed overnight in the hotel and decided to have breakfast here. It is small & cozy, service was good, the croissants and pastries are really delicious.

Really nice place. Def a place for sweet treats. The food was good. Don't get the kids Mac n cheese. Epic fail The quiche was excellent. 5/5. Flaky buttery crust. The fresh chips are excellent. The grilled choose is good but too cheesy. Ask for it light The pen salad was 5/5. Really tasty. The chicken is outstanding. The chocolate obsession cake was rich and amazing. Not bitter chocolate at the end The macaroons were good My wife said the coffee was just okay.

Very aesthetic café that feels luxe. I've had the truffle chicken pot pie multiple times and loved it. Easy spot for a sit-down brunch or grabbing a pastry to go.

From the time we were greeted to exiting the place took us back to France. We order Bagel & Cream Cheese. The items to build an amazing breakfast that include Scottish salmon, cucumber slices, thinly sliced res onions, capers to apply, cream cheese with chives, and those ingredients were compiled with a toasted bagel sliced in half. The limits on words stop us. We walked out with almond croissant. Every bite into the croissant, you could taste the almond inside. Nothing else about this plates should be written. Our return is required. Shalom

I came here for a few treats the day I checked out of my hotel. We purchased the cookies I heard so much about and a few macaroons. Everything was delicious and the staff was quick with our order!

Sunday 3pm. Most of their patisseries were sold out. The café seating was full and it seemed quite family friendly. It feels more café vibes than afternoon tea vibes. The storefront has a separate entrance from the hotel, so you might not realize this is part of the Peninsula. My goal was to buy pastries but how many and which ones really depended on what's available and my mood. Overall, I felt like this place offers conservative flavors but the details are executed well. It's not perfect, but it would be a solid go-to option for refined patisseries. More specifically, I am very interested in trying their cookies or anything baked with butter like sable or tart shells. It was a pleasant surprise to see that a pastry at the Peninsula is only $12, as I'm used to seeing more expensive ones in NYC. I ordered: chrysanthemum, blueberry snowflake, and igloo. It wasn't intentional but they were all white. Blueberry snowflake was my favorite. It's a cheesecake with blueberry compote and mousse filling and dacquoise. It won its way to my favorite of the day because of the savory cream cheese. I like the balance how the saltiness gives it a unique kick but I wouldn't doubt that this is a dessert. It was such a joy to eat. The blueberry middle didn't stand out but perhaps I like the subtleness rather than something very punchy, sweet and sticky. Igloo was my second favorite. I loved the sable biscuit at its base. The coconut rum gave a hit upon first bite but wasn't apparent afterwards. I like the abundance of coconut shreds that are delicate without getting in the way. The mango cremeux didn't feel out of place even in December. I did want to point out that the filling didn't fit the most neatly into the mold for the igloo. Chrysanthemum was third not because it was bad or anything. Apparently the design was inspired by Chicago's city flower. I was expecting it to be floral flavored - even better if chrysanthemum, but it wasn't. It's supposed to be tea infused white chocolate, strawberry gelee, and baked cream. I normally don't like white chocolate because it's too sweet and heavy but that didn't feel so here. The piping of the flower petals was also beautiful especially after the silver spray lightly layered on top. Unfortunately, I couldn't really taste tea here. The insides weren't special but I loved the tart crust. It's so buttery and flavorful without being overpowering to the gentle flavors in the rest of the patisserie. When I arrived, I wanted to stare at the fridge before deciding what to order. There was people ahead of me so I waited on the side. Turns out those people were just waiting for their takeout coffee and not even ordering desserts. No one acknowledged my existence nor directed me who I should speak to for ordering or what I'm here to get at all. Although I wish I had a warmer welcome upon arrival, the lady at the counter did make it up by addressing me by name (probably after seeing my credit card) when giving me the receipt. I don't think I see a contactless payment option as they had to swipe on the computer and it still prints out multiple copies of the receipt. Perhaps this café is meant to focus on dine-in options more than takeout.

I went there for a brunch this late morning. I got a Strawberry tart and a Coffee Bean, with a cup of hot latte, and stayed inside for an hour reading my book. Overall, this was a pleasant dining experience. The serving people were very friendly and caring, and people dining inside were also very polite and respectful to each other. However, I regard the price as too high, as these all cost me about forty bucks, while I might get the same experience in other cafes with half of the price.

Stopped in for a quick tea but left with 2 pastries, which I'm not disappointed with at all. Had an amazing selection of teas and coffees as well as impressive pastries and desserts. I can't wait to come back to try them all! Very bright and open cafe type setting, decent amount of seats available and is connected the the Peninsula hotel. Service was phenomenal, I was overwhelmed by all the choices but the server was quick to address any questions and provide valuable recommendations.

This restaurant is so lovely we came here once for coffee and desserts, and came a second time to dine in. The interior is adorable and all white and light green colors. Had the Rotisserie Chicken, french onion soup, cappuccino, coffee, negroni sbagliato, and giant raspberry macaron. The mashed potatoes in the chicken dish was chunky and silky and amazing! I could pass on the coffee and desserts next time. Was really excited to try the mille feuille but found out they no longer serve it. Service was pleasant and I would definitely come back to try the chicken pot pie!

I've been a big fan of Pierrot Gourmet since 2013 when I first came to the States. I really enjoyed every single morning I had spent there, with quality-guaranteed coffee and breakfast. It was close for a while during COViD. Last Christmas during my visit back to Chicago, I was so happy to find its reopening ! The truffled chicken pot pie was Amazing, as well as the cute dessert and London fog!I would consider moving back to Chicago for it lol

This place was VERY recommended by my boss who urged me to get the rotisserie chicken. This is their signature dish. Although the chicken was very tasty, I wouldn't say that it was out of this world and that I would get it again. I got the prosciutto salad and that also wasn't my favorite because the salad base was very bitter. I got hazelnut cruffin which was giving Godiva pastry and it was very tasty. Someone got the croque Madame next to me which I wish I got instead. The ambience was very quaint and it looked like a little French café. The service was also great. My server was nice and my water was constantly full. I would come again and get different things because I wasn't very impressed on the taste of my food, but that could be personal preference.

First, I explored the endless snack aisles and selected a bag of chocolate-hazelnut biscuits to take home. I couldn't resist the gelato and tried the pistachio flavor (yum!) On my next visit to Eataly a couple of days later, I ordered a cappuccino, and while my beverage took a long time to prepare, the espresso tasted very high quality. The pastries looked stunning and decadent, and I imagine they'd pair wonderfully with espresso if you have time to linger at the cafe (I was in a hurry to get to a work meeting). The next day, my team and I visited Eataly's restaurant for lunch. I selected the anchovy toast as my starter and the gnocchi for my main as part of the lunch special. The toast consisted of two slices of sourdough bread topped with creamy lemon spread and anchovies. The contrast of the bright lemon flavor with the ultra-salty anchovies was tempered by the creamy butter - these all paired together quite well. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The gnocchi was much too soft (it had the texture of mashed potatoes), and the red sauce was bland. All in all, visiting Eataly was a cool way to experience gourmet Italian food.

Considering this place is supposed to have some class, we were pretty appalled that they seemed to do the bare minimum for this event. I felt very deceived by how this event was advertised online vs in real life. It seems they intentionally left out details and was marketed as five tastings at five counters, but we receieved barely a sample at each sation. The website said 1. house made pasta - you have one option and it was three bites, no vegetarian option 2. roman-style pizza - only thing I won't complain about although still a small portion 3. Curated drink from Caffe Lavazza - this was a dixie cup portion of a blended Frappuccino 4. house made pastry - they gave you the option of literal bite sized dessert, not a whole pastry 5. the artisanal salumi and formaggi - pathetic, literally 1 piece of meat, three pieces of the same type of cheeses, three olives, and dry stale crackers. Honestly for what they offer this was a slap in the face and from a consumer perspective Eataly's attempt at a summer money making scheme. I would find it hard to believe anyone who rave about this event, in fact I imagine most left very underwhelmed and still hungry. Eataly itself might be a great experience but we did not have the opportunity. We enjoyed the spritz drinks we ordered for their $9 summer special but this event did not make me want to return at all. It unfortunately dangled everything they could have offered in front of us, but then gave us the lowest tier. Driving in traffic to do this was not worth the time, gas, parking or inconvenience and the best part of our city night was when we stepped out of Eataly.
