I was pretty disappointed in this place. The service was fine. It's a smaller restaurant with a very small town feel. My chicken Parmesan was just ok. Nothing special about it. The spaghetti had zero sauce on it and the only sauce was the little bit on the chicken. The portion was generous but a plate full of bland plain spaghetti just wasn't what I was expecting. The marinara was really chunky anyway and wasn't really good either. The real star of this restaurant is the pie. My pie was excellent and really rich. I couldn't finish it and for the price the slice was huge. I'd watch what you order to eat, but definitely don't skip the pie. They have so many it was really hard to choose.

If beige were a restaurant, it might be Pine Country. Stopped into Pine Country Restaurant in Williams hoping for something that would wake up our taste buds. Instead, we got a very polite handshake from breakfast. Nothing offensive. Nothing exciting. Just... there. Let's start with the decor. If "early waiting room" is the vibe you're going for, nailed it. Functional. Present. Not memorable. Much like the seasoning. We had breakfast for dinner since nothing on the dinner menu excited us. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito. Eggs and sausage wrapped in a flour tortilla, salsa on the side. It was fine. Not bad. Not great. Just fine. The kind of fine that whispers, "I exist." It desperately needed salt and something with a little pop. Even a mild personality would've helped. I went with the breakfast tamales. On paper, this thing had potential. Pulled pork. Masa. A whole cast of supporting characters. But somehow they were all competing for attention while simultaneously saying nothing. Imagine a band where every instrument is playing softly and slightly off key, and no one wants to be the lead singer. That was my plate. Lots going on, but zero cohesion and no seasoning to tie it together. To be fair, the service was good. Friendly, attentive, no complaints there. They did their part. The kitchen just chose the path of least resistance. Three stars because it was all just okay. Not terrible. Not memorable. Just the culinary equivalent of a shrug.

Great breakfast spot. Ordered a ham and cheese omelette, coffee, and a slice of cherry pie. Everything was fresh and delicious. Great diner to fuel before hitting the road again. Definitely grab a slice of pie while you're here

A solid country kitchen cafe, a ton of comfort food favorites on the menu. Popped in for a quick coffee and sweet treat before hitting the road. Hubby and I ordered two coffees and chose to share the biscuits & gravy and the cinnamon roll. Yummy.

One of the most popular and iconic diner stops on Route 66, especially if you're there for the pies and classic American comfort food. Most people recommend it as a must-try -- just go with an appetite and be prepared for potential waits at peak times. Excellent service by Guadalupe -- she was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Her warm hospitality really elevated the whole experience.

This is your stop for dessert! The pie case has everything you'd like to try. We got a bit of it all: Strawberry-Banana cream pie, Boston Cream cake, Chocolate Cheesecake pie, and (not pictured) pumpkin pie.

BLOCKBUSTER REVIEW: "Pine Country Homemade Pie - Where Heaven Serves Seconds!" Let me start by saying I'm a New Yorker -- you know, the land where "homemade" means it came from a deli in Queens and "pie" usually has pepperoni on it. My gorgeous wife somehow convinced me (okay, bamboozled me) into taking a trip to dry, dusty, beautiful Arizona, and while visiting one of the 7 Wonders of the World the Grand Canyon, we stumbled upon a place that might as well be the 8th Wonder: Pine Country Homemade Pie in the historic town of Williams. Now, I came here ready to risk it all. After seeing all the rave TikTok reviews about their pies, I accepted my fate "Well," I thought, "this might be the day my diabetes files for divorce." But here's what those TikTok food influencers never mentioned: the food before the pie is just as heavenly! My wife ordered the Navajo Taco. Notice I said "taco" -- singular. But let me tell you, this thing came out looking like it RSVP'd to its own block party. It was the best taco fiesta I've ever witnessed I almost stood up and applauded. As for me? I went full cowboy and ordered the NY steak (representing the home state), paired with mashed potatoes and their house steak brown gravy. Dear Lord, I saw heaven. Angels were humming. I might've spoken in tongues. Normally, dinner time for us is filled with laughter, conversation, and a little bit of gossip (mostly her fault, let's be real). But that night? Silence. Not a word. Because when the food's that good, your mouth is too busy saying "mmm" to say anything else. Our server, Ryan, deserves a raise not just for the excellent service but for being a walking dessert encyclopedia. Thanks to him, I discovered the banana cream pie, and let me tell you that pie didn't just melt in my mouth, it signed a lease there. Now, I'll be sending Ryan the bill for my next Quest Diagnostics visit, because I know my sugar level went through the roof after that pie. Oh, and one more thing if you visit, watch out for the crows outside. These aren't your average birds. These things are the size of eagles and smart enough to do your taxes. They'll stare into your soul while you eat your pie, like they're judging your life choices. ‍ Bottom line if you ever find yourself in Williams, Arizona, do not leave without stopping at Pine Country Homemade Pie. Whether it's the legendary banana cream pie, the mind-blowing Navajo Taco, or that holy steak and gravy combo, this place will bless your taste buds and your vacation memories. Just don't forget to pack your sense of humor and maybe your glucose meter. lol

We've eaten here a couple of times on different trips to Wiliams. There are not a lot of restaurant options that we would go back to. There's a cute store in the back of the restaurant that the kids and I like to browse after we order our food. Service has been good both times. The atmosphere is family-friendly, and the dinner portions are shareable depending on how hungry you are. There are so many different flavors of pie to choose from. We tried the double lemon meringue, which was decent, and we will be back to try more flavors on our next trip.

So the food was great, it was at the end of a quick trip to take the train to the Grand Canyon and the only reason I took a star off is that the staff was so not friendly. Even our waiter as just not nice. We are going to try this place again to see if it was just a bad day. Would have loved to come home with a pie but they said they had to have24hrs notice and we didn't know that and we hadn't even been there for 24 hrs so next time we will call ahead so we can bring a pie home.

It was very busy when we stopped by last Saturday around 11am and we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Once seated, our server came over right away and took our orders. One Dr. Pepper One Grilled chicken with mashed potatoes, corn One Classic breakfast One Pine country club sandwich One banana creme pie The food came out all together and then our server disappeared. We were wanting some Tabasco so we flagged someone else down as we had waited about 10 minutes for our server who never came.... The Dr. Pepper was flat and no refill was offered. The food was bland and it remined me of cafeteria food from the hospital. The banana creme pie was the saving grace as it was delicious. It was pretty big and so we spilt it into three. I would pass on this as I'm pretty sure there are better brunch places nearby. Do come for the pie though!

Ask the Community - Pine Country Restaurant

    Do they serve alcohol here?

No they do not. They do have a coffee bar though.

Can you tell me what different usual flavors are offered for the gluten free pies?

According to their website they make a sugar-free & gluten-free friendly pie every day - you would have to ask what the flavor is for the day.

We visited over Christmas. We purchased some coffee cups at the gift shop. Wondering if its possible to order one and have it shipped? We'd like to replace one that was broken. Thanks.

Yes you can just call them! They will gladly help you!

Are they open New Years Day?

Is the restaurant open for dinner on Thanksgiving?

Sorry, but they will be closed for Thanksgiving. Hope you can try them another time.

I asked for coffee and she handed me a menu and she asked if I knew what I wanted to eat. I said I needed some time to look at the menu and she frowned and walked away without saying a word. It was obvious she thought I was going to be there a while and didn't want me sitting at the table long. She returned with the coffee and said "You know if it gets busy...." leaving the sentence hanging. I replied I would leave if it did (the restaurant only had maybe 3 tables full at that point, by the time I left at 640 there were two tables empty). After eating the food, which was quite good, I promptly packed up and left as soon as I could 25 minutes after being seated. I walked down to Brewed Awakenings, got a coffee there and sat down at my computer to do some work. In a small restaurant I totally understand that you need to keep tables moving so there is not a wait, but there is a polite and subtle way to message to a patron that they need to move along so other folks can sit down. You can deliver the check early, ask if you are finished, ask if there is anything else you need. Ways to communicate to a patron that they need the table. This was certainly not it. I eat out often, I tip very well, but I have to say this is the first time I felt unwelcome and rushed at a place in a very, very long time. While the food was good, this was not the way to start off day 2 of my roadtrip. In today's economy, making your customers feel like they need to eat and run, and doing so in a rude way, is a master class in how to make your restaurant fail. I do not recommend this place.

I very much enjoyed that during the first leg of our journey home :) They offer a very sizable menu with both breakfast and lunch items. The space still has that nice rustic charm with plenty of seating inside and outside on their nice patio. Ordering, however, has changed. Beers, cocktails, nonalcoholic beverages, cans to-go, and food is all ordered up at the bar. There was 1 lone employee working the bar; taking orders, pouring beers, mixing cocktails, and closing people out at the register. This was so incredibly inefficient, particularly on such a busy day. I stood in line 3 separate times (once to initially order two pints, a second time to order a flight of other beers we wanted to taste, and a final time to purchase two cans to-go and close out my tab); each time in line took between 15-25 minutes. The girl behind the bar was very friendly and she was working as quickly as possible while maintaining a relatively happy attitude, but boy did I feel bad for her. Management really messed this up; someone needed to step in and help. With such a big celebration in town that day, there needed to be a minimum of 3 employees manning the bar to take orders and get drinks. As for the beer itself, as usual it's just average. Great if you're looking for something cold to enjoy, but not memorable if you're a craft beer nerd. We went in knowing what the quality would be, but still wanted to try all the new beers since we hadn't been in a couple of years. We didn't eat while there, but in the past when we have, the food is good. The knock of two stars was simply for the horrible management of orders. I don't know when they decided to get rid of waiters and put all the pressure onto the bartender, but geez what an awful decision that was.

Our hosts, Mark and Debbie, welcomed us with warmth and humor that made us feel instantly at home. If you're messaging the inn, it's probably Debbie replying with her signature kindness -- and if your mouth is watering, it's probably because Mark is in his commercial kitchen creating something extraordinary. Breakfasts were a highlight -- each plate a work of art and flavor. From the fresh fruit "pizza" to the salmon quesadilla, every dish was crafted with care and served on the porch overlooking the forest. The French press coffee and house mugs added a personal touch that made mornings unforgettable. And while the breakfasts are already legendary, the dinners deserve their own spotlight: a sight, smell, and taste sensation that makes you genuinely believe Mark's commercial kitchen is headed toward a Michelin mention one day. Our room, Fernwood, was spotless, serene, and thoughtfully designed. The shower alone deserves a mention -- it's larger than most entire European bathrooms, a luxurious surprise that made the stay even more comfortable. And the private porch was the perfect bonus: a quiet, tucked‑away space where we could invite other couples we met to share a bottle of wine once the main cabin closed for the night. We even appreciated the complimentary EV charger right outside -- a modern convenience that fit seamlessly into the rustic setting. As a Select Registry property, the Sheridan House Inn already stands out for exceptional hospitality -- and right now they're offering double points, making an already memorable stay even more rewarding. And it's no surprise that last month they were named one of Tripadvisor's Top 20 Bed & Breakfasts and Inns in the United States, proudly landing at #16. After staying here, we can say that ranking is absolutely deserved. The inn sits in Williams, Arizona, a charming mountain town of about 3,500 residents living at 7,000 feet. While Phoenix was baking at 110°, we were enjoying a perfect 80° afternoon breeze. They even get snow in the winter, adding to the town's year‑round magic. Williams was wonderfully festive during the Route 66 Centennial and America250 celebrations -- but locals say any holiday is a reason for a parade down their nostalgic old‑town streets. And of course, Williams proudly serves as the gateway to the Grand Canyon, making it the ideal home base for adventure and relaxation. Sheridan House Inn isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience that restores your soul. And it's surprisingly accessible -- just a 6‑hour drive from Los Angeles, 3 hours from Las Vegas, and about 2.5 hours from Phoenix. We visited over the Fourth of July weekend, and the inn's festive spirit shone through -- laughter, fireworks, and genuine hospitality. Sheridan House Inn isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience that restores your soul. Highly recommend for anyone seeking tranquility, gourmet breakfasts, unforgettable dinners, and hosts who truly love what they do.

Mark and Debbie have been so accommodating especially with my wife's dietary desires. The food is absolutely delicious! They had a great menu with vegan and vegetarian options. There is a rotating breakfast menu each day (3 different) and Mark the owner cooks most of the scrumptious foods including home made ice cream served for desert. We stayed in the Rosewood room which is unbelievable. The room was very clean, very comfortable, and every detail well thought out. Their enthusiasm of their home, cooking and knowledge of surrounding events Combine all of the above it was very memorable experience and a great way to celebrate our 15 year anniversary.

Walk in, scan the QR code or grab a menu and find a seat. Plan your meal and visit the bar to order (better than being ignored across the street). Self-serve your drinks and before you know it you have food. My wife had Ceasar salad and was pleasantly surprised to find it contained halved cherry tomatoes. A salad is a salad, unless it's bad. You rarely notice if good, but this one was. A perfect salad lunch for her. My daughter had spaghetti and meatballs. She loved it. We're usually picky about Italian food and rarely order it from a non Italian place, but we've been on the road and she was starving. From the first bite she was hooked. Bursting with flavor, certainly part pork and full of herbs. Clearly made in house. My son and I split a margarita pizza and it hit hard. Paper thin. For dinner we'd need one each, but for lunch splitting it was perfect. Great flavor top to bottom. The paper thin crust, the tangy sauce, and good quality cheese topped with a generous amount of fresh basil. Bonus for the red hot sauce (green tasted artificial) which I grabbed a spoon to taste with as soon as we sat down, I love hot sauce. And for the classic rock playlist. Highly recommend for a quick meal.

First this place needs an overhaul on its ordering system. You get in line and order at the bar and…read morethey bring your pizza to you, which is fine; however the cashier is also the bartender so if you're in line and waiting to order food and someone orders special drinks you have to wait for the bartender to make all their drinks for them before you can order. That really slows the line down and just felt like a really poor system. You need someone else to make drinks while you have another person to take orders. As for soft drinks you serve yourself from a machine, which is also fine. The pizza is really good. Not much else to say about it. The restaurant itself is pretty cool and quite large with indoor and outdoor seating and really has that Route 66 feel to it. Overall it's a really cool place for pizza and you should definitely check it out.
