Mediocre pizza that takes entirely too long. Called an order in and was told 50-55 mins, stood there an additional 25 mins. Ridiculous

Pizza was fantastic. The service was good. Would definitely come back again for either carry out or dine in.

I really want to like this place. The pizza is a solid value. We always order the Scallywag and garlic knots. Delivery is typically fast and pleasant. My #1 issue with this location is they have no idea how to time/plan things out regarding times. Twice now we have opted not to do delivery and instead pick it up due to long delivery times. Both times we were told a time that was way off from the ready times. And it's not minuscule times try 20-30 minutes off. I know for a fact pizza cook times are pretty consistent with how long it takes to cook. You should be able to calculate cook times based on that. First in first out, I really hope they get this process figured out. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I tried many many times to order on the weekend but they left me on hold for so long that I had to give up. Then finally I got a pie and it was just ok. Omg! So I was visiting Saint Augustine and was super hungry and decided to search for a place to eat. I googled pizza and first name that came up was PIRATE PIZZA . Looking at their menu and pictures I decided this was the place to try! Being from NY I always dream of a good, authentic pizza place and it is very rare to find a good spot. Well, I tried their lunch special 2 pizza slices and a bottle drink. I chose a cheese slice for me and a pepperoni and sweet tea for my bf who was working. With tax it all came for about $9 or so and boy was that a great decision to stop here! The pizza was super hot! Cheese was not too much, but nice and the juiciness off it was incredible! I love the oils on the cheese! (I'm so sick and tired of ordering dry pizza from other places)!! Wow. As you can see in the pictures I am providing, these pizza slices are a match made in heaven! Their pizza has incredible burst of flavor, definitely NOT dry. The dough is just the PERFECT amount (not too much as I hate that usually. They have 100% perfect ratio) I have been back to them already !! 3 !! Times as I live in Jacksonville and it is a 30 mile drive for me one way. Tonight we got a half pepperoni/half cheese. We have been coming here for awhile, but the last 3 times this year, the pizza has been sub-par. The crust is very hard and chewy. Absolutely delicious, I took a nap and woke up wanting pizza, I like "supreme" and everyone has a version, this DID NOT DISAPPOINT, all the way down to the slices, no pie is perfect but they're all perfect right? Unassuming little place in a sleepy little shopping center. They have a couple cute decorations that kept my toddler entertained to look at while we waited for our to-go, but more importantly their pizza is INCREDIBLE and the people working we're beyond sweet and helpful (down to offering to help carry my pizza to my car). So-so. It's better than chain pizza, but not remotely close to good pizza. It was super soggy and lacked flavor. We went early afternoon around 2pm or so, and they had no garlic knots ready. As far as local authentic pizza places in the area, pirate pizza is my go-to when I want an 18 inch pie with my favorite toppings. My only complaint is that the mushrooms seem to be canned and not fresh mushrooms. I get why, it's probably cheaper and faster than fresh mushrooms but it makes a difference in the flavor and texture. read more
