    Lamb beef gyro. So good

Just had a snack of hummus and pita and it was surprisingly delicious. And pretty large portion. Like a pint of hummus and warm pita. Yum

Thursday afternoon Giants game. My Greek Salad Bowl with lamb was a tasty bowl of deliciousness. Lettuce was crispy and meat was plentiful. It filled me up. Not a bad price for ball park drinks but a Coke was $9.00. Bring your own plastic bottle soda and eat here

I decided to try Pita Gyros for lunch. It's very well situated in a fitness park where they have soccer and pickle ball courts as well as a couple of large big screens playing either live sporting events or movies. The guys at the Pita Gyros seem friendly enough so I thought I'd give them a try. One thing I noticed when I ordered was that my food handler took my money and prepared my food using the same gloves which is big no. After erasing that image in my head, I decided to eat my Chicken Gyro which was average at best but it did have lots chicken in it but I couldn't finish it after thinking about the guy's glove touching my food. The other small complaint I had too was the I got charged Greek Fries price when I only ordered Fries. Probably not heading back after that experience.

This is a cute little food truck with a nice outdoor seating area in a good location. The service was friendly and the price was reasonable. I ordered a lamb and beef gyro and some baklava for my sweet tooth and it didn't take too long to come out even though they were pretty busy. The baklava was just plain old store bought run of the mill "meh" but the gyro was good and filling. I would come here again for dinner but definitely skip dessert.

I was adventuring in the city on the last night of Lets Glow SF and stopped by Pita Gyros to fill by belly. One of the light installations was right by this food area. I ordered a Beef and Lamb Gyro and I'm glad I did. It was huge. The meat was nice and juicy and flavorful. it tasted fresh and delicious. The employee was super nice and my order came out quick. If your in the area its worth a visit.

While the name Pita Gyros is generic and forgettable, the falafel they're making is anything but. Situated in shiny new Crossing at East Cut, this trailer has a short menu of the greatest Mediterranean hits. Vegan options are clearly marked, with falafel and hummus being your primary focus, served over salad, in pita, or with rice. Nothing terribly innovative, but they simply do it right. Super crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside, these fried chickpea balls are green from bright fresh herbs that you can really taste. Whole sesame seeds peek through the golden-brown exterior, adding to a subtly nutty, toasted taste that manages to land every flavorful punch. Notably, the hummus tastes like something I would make at home, which is a huge compliment. Tahini-forward, super creamy, but still with a bit of texture that suggests the beans kept their skins intact, it's light years better than the stuff sold in stores. It's the perfect quick lunch to grab when you're in the area. 10/10, would eat again.

Finally got around to trying one of those food trailers in the East Cut park. Lots of great open space to enjoy your food, which is especially pleasant on a sunny day. Their gyro made for a great lunch outside the office. Lamb & Beef Gyro Pita: I was really feeling the thin wispy slices of gyro. They weren't as crispy as I usually like, but the deli-esqe thinness was far superior to those places that cut large chunks off. Meshed nicely with the super fresh cubes of red onions, cucumber and tomato. Plus a generous amount of creamy sauce and hot sauce. Also, the pita was nice and fluffy, not like those cardboard discs you can find at the grocery store or lesser gyro purveyors. Overall, lots of fresh and delicious taste. Falafal: Ordered a side of falafal [sic] and it was literally just one piece. Texture was kinda different, very large grains like tempeh. And though it had a fried exterior, it didn't feel as crunchy as other falafels I've had. Glad my main focus was the gyro. Baklava: I was actually still feeling a tad peckish after my meal, so went back to order dessert. Pretty much what I was hoping for with a crispy flaky top and a sticky gooey bottom.

I booked our table about a month in advance, which turned out to be the right move because the restaurant was bustling during the lunch hour. To start, we ordered four small plates to share among our party of four: meatballs, saganaki, spanakotiropita, and a pair of dips (melitzanosolata and favasalata) with pita. Everything was excellent, and our spread was inclusive of a wide variety of flavors and textures: salty, creamy, acidic, sweet, crunchy. The meatballs and the dips are definitely a must-order and are ideal for sharing. The spanakotiropita were larger and more filling than expected, so if I were to order those again, I'd dial it back and stick with small plates rather than a full-sized entree. The saganaki was a showstopper; it is served sizzling and crackling on a cast iron dish and had a nice salty flavor that allowed the cheese to be served on its own. For my main dish, I ordered the braised goat - which is not something I'd typically order because goat meat is usually tough - but I was intrigued how it was prepared as a stew. The dish almost reminded me of a Moroccan tagine - the goat was braised to peak tenderness and bathed in a slightly fruity and well-spiced sauce; dotted with pieces of melted feta; and served on top of a bed of baked orzo, which was served fresh-from-the oven in a mini cast iron dish. I was so full after our meal that I had to walk it off for a few blocks, but I cannot wait for our next special occasion so we can come back and celebrate with another feast at Kokkari Estiatorio.

Yes, it's a somewhat expensive dining experience but you are paying for top notch service and great quality food. I am not talking about these cheap midnight specials in Las Vegas. This is type of food where you take your time eating to savor your food to taste the silky texture of the meat or let the sauce soak into the octopus appetizer to soften it and tastes good. I would have ordered a salad but with the health scare of salads recall made me hesitant to order any, although the specials sounded great! You can still cannot go wrong as every dish was great experience and great execution. Love the melted cheeses in appetizer and custard in dessert with pistachio ice cream! The meats really shined as we asked for medium rare and both steak and lamb chops cooked perfectly. Would I go back? , oh yeah and splurge on this place for sure. It just felt special to me. That flourless cake by kitchen I was debating should I take the whole thing and run? lol Restroom is a maze I do must say as you take an elevator one level down.

We started off with the hummus and the moussaka (eggplant and tomato sauce). The hummus was pretty standard, but still great, and the moussaka was SO delicious. The service apparently called out sick. Let's start with the good news: the food was genuinely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The mint lemonade was bright and refreshing. The chicken skewers were flavorful and perfectly cooked (though surprisingly small). The halumi salad with eggplant was a generous portion. Now for the "Mooore" part. I was hoping the restaurant's name was also a mission statement. However, we could have used more attentive service. More follow-through. More toilet paper... Unfortunately, once we were seated, we were essentially released into the wild. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code, which is perfectly fine in theory. In practice, it felt like sending requests into the void. A drink I ordered never appeared. Nobody checked on the table, so I had to get up and walk to the counter to ask about it. Later, I had to make another trip to remind them we had ordered dessert. Then another trip when we wanted a to-go box. Apparently, the evening's theme was "interactive dining," where the guests perform most of the customer service duties themselves. Tips are forced when you first order online - no refunds on that. The bathroom offered its own adventure. The trash bin was overflowing with dirty paper towels, and there was little to no toilet paper available. As the daughter of a health inspector, knowing that staff use the same facility, I would have given this a poor hygiene grade. What made the experience frustrating was that the food was good enough to make you want to come back. But when your guests spend half the meal looking for someone to help them, it takes away from what could have been a 'more' pleasant evening.

Thoughts going through my head "how can this taste so good," "I wasn't expecting this tonight," "this is the most tender gyro meat I've ever had," "how nicely this sauce pairs with the rice." Service was so friendly. Walked in for Friday dinner cus it's try a new restaurant night. Surprised it was empty. They got quite a bit of takeout orders but no one eating in there. Only the workers in there. Was greeted immediately with a smile. Wasn't sure if I had to order then seat myself or politely ask to get a table first. Sometimes it's confusing at some places, I didn't want to be weird. Asked for a table then server brought menus to us. But the next person who walked in just ordered and paid right away at the cashier then sat down. So I don't know. I wasn't given water with my sit down meal. As a takeout place, Gyros and Tzatziki normally gets four stars, but as a restaurant, it's definitely three stars, and I'll tell you why. This place needs better management. Failing that, one of the three guys who is normally working when I come needs to take charge, because the current setup isn't working. You order at the counter, which is common at many San Francisco restaurants. One of the three guys will help you, but sometimes, one of them is just sitting or standing a few feet away from the cash register, but he won't acknowledge your presence. It's as if only people who will actually take your order are allowed to speak to you. Once you do (eventually) place your order, you're in for a wait. If you're eating in, that's all right, because the food is definitely worth the wait, and the small seating area is normally comfortable. If you're taking it to go, however, they refuse to say anything about where to be while waiting. I normally just sit down at an empty table because I know it will be awhile, but when I stand, I always feel like I'm in someone's way. When they're busy, not only does your food take forever to come out, but the service just goes out the window. Again, only three guys working, including the chef, but why does one of the remaining two guys always seem to be so stand-around-looking-dumb lazy? And the funny part is that it's not always the same guy; the one I used to think was a hard worker was sitting in a chair near the back last time I came. It was like he was in a timeout; he wasn't looking at his phone, just yelling random things to the cook occasionally while the other poor guy had to deal with four different parties eating in, plus all the to-go orders. So order it to go before you arrive. Or sit down and try to figure out what's going on.

I'm not sure if it's house-made or not, but it's so good. The pita, however, was a letdown. I prefer my pita soft, fluffy, and warm, but this one was hard and grainy. Overall, it's a cute restaurant with decent food, but it isn't my top choice.

It is not a sit-down restaurant and doesn't pretend to be. What it is, is consistently excellent food at prices that still make sense in a city where that's getting rare. We're regulars, and we usually go on Sunday evenings after my girlfriend gets off work. Falafel wrap and chicken shawarma are our usual order -- the falafel has that crisp-shell, tender-middle thing going, and the wraps are generously built. We've branched out plenty and everything we've tried has been good. The other reason we keep showing up is the people. Turna usually takes our order, and she is genuinely lovely -- friendly in a way that isn't a customer-service script. My girlfriend and I always walk out in a better mood than we walked in with, which is worth a lot. Practical notes: halal, lots of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, open until midnight Fri/Sat, and they cater. Grab some napkins if you're eating the wrap on the move -- it's a big one, and that's a compliment.

I'm a big fan of the chicken shawarma--it's really flavorful and hits the spot when it's done right. That said, on a couple of my previous orders the meat was a bit on the dry side, but I still find myself coming back because when it's on point, it's really good. Staff is friendly, and most of the time you can stand on their ledges to eat or sit outside. There were 2 small tables that seat 2-3 per table. Pro tip: ask for the tahini and hot sauce on the side and load it into your wrap--it takes it up a notch.

The clean your table for faster turnaround and they take care of the dirty dishes as I couldn't find a garbage can to throw my sandwich wrapper away. My companions and I came right on time on Sunday afternoon, the start of the lunch crowd around 1pm because the line line was forming to purchase, get a number and look for a table. It was a nice and sunny day in the Mission District. I couldn't decide if I wanted sandwich or salad. I went with the lamb which contained THOMAS FARMS LAMB LEG Harissa-Spiked Yogurt, Cucumber, Radish, Pickled Red Onion, Feta Cheese and one friend ordered the salad version of THOMAS FARMS LAMB LEG that had Harissa-Spiked Yogurt, Cucumber, Radish, Pickled Red Onion, Feta Cheese. This was perfect fulfilling and yummy in my tummy. Love to come here if I was in the area. One companion has strict dietary restrictions and it makes it had to find a place but this place is perfect. Healthy eating and it tastes good! And she was happy with her meal. They clean the tables pretty fast turn around and we lucky got a table. Good quality food and I had to get the frozen Greek Yogurt with honeycomb which brought back memories of Athens. Again another home run place to eat at. I never had a bad experience l.

As long as your expectations are set, you're likely to love it. My favorites are with honey or cherry. It's a refreshing piece of Europe tucked away on a small storefront in the city. Plus, the staff is always pleasant and efficient.

Review only on their frozen greek yogurt!…read more This has been on my list to try and actually wasn't on my list to try on my last trip to SF, however, I stumble upon it while going to eat next door. Parking is meter street parking. I would try across the street if you can't find any close by. I knew I had to order their frozen yogurt. They offer a couple of choices for topping with the frozen yogurt like sour cherry syrup, olive oil and flaky sea salt, baklava crumbles and honey syrup, and lastly, wildflower honey. I ended up going with the frozen yogurt topped with baklava. First off, the frozen yogurt is super tart but the baklava is the great addition to balance it out. It made me keep on going back for another spoonful. I really enjoy it and its something I do think and crave for. Overall, come here if you want some frozen yogurt!

I ordered on the left counter, which was fast and straightforward. Their server was quick and I got my yogurt in seconds. Even though there was plenty of seating at the restaurant itself, I decided to take it to go. Inside, it was very bright, though, and it seemed great if you want to bring friends to eat and hang out. The yogurt itself was nice and tart, and the baklava was good, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the combination together. I think the dish is nice but not something I'd say you have to try.
